The Buranovskie Babushki team. “We are old, but not sick!” How do Buranovsky grandmothers live without a brand? The oldest one is breeding "locksmiths"

Singers from Udmurtia, after being forced to go on “well-deserved rest,” want to sing at least in their native republic

At the end of August this year, information appeared that the producer of the group “Buranovskie Babushki” Ksenia Rubtsova decided to update the composition of the famous folklore ensemble. She sent to a “well-deserved rest” those grandmothers who won second place in music competition Eurovision 2012 in Baku. And instead of them I typed completely new team.

MK found out the details of this story.

“We learned about our replacement from the Internet”

The message that a replacement had been found for the grandmothers from Buranov became a thunderclap among clear skies. And not only for fans of singers, but also for older artists themselves. Although the former artistic director team and the youngest of the grandmothers, Olga Tuktareva, confirmed that conversations about updating the composition of the team had been going on for a long time:

— Ksenia Rubtsova told me that it would be necessary to update the composition a little, because the workload on our soloists was very heavy. Constant concerts and tours, of course, took a lot of energy. At first, she wanted to take at least a few new grandmothers from the village of Buranovo, so that they could replace the “old” participants at any time in case of illness or other unforeseen situations. But after a while I realized that our ensemble “Buranovskie Babushki” is a unique group, you can’t just take someone out of it. That's why I was against updating it.

Olga Tuktareva herself learned about the change in the composition of “Buranovskie Babushki” from the Internet.

At least they called and said that they were hiring others instead of us. Perhaps then we would not be so offended. After all, we live in the same republic and know these new “grandmothers”. Among them there is even mine good friend, with whom we have known for many years.

It is clear that we live in an age of speed, but we need to sit down, talk and discuss the situation. After all, our grandmothers are no longer young women; they are well over 70 years old. Therefore, it was necessary to talk to them humanly and move on,” Olga Nikolaevna shares her thoughts.

Former composition of the team

She admits that she tried to talk with producer Ksenia Rubtsova, who decided to update the lineup. But Ksenia simply didn’t pick up the phone for a whole month. However, later the conversation took place.

- I said that we are not against new line-up traveled and performed as “Buranovskie Babushki”. But at that time they performed our songs, accompanied by our soundtracks, and it was not very pleasant. Therefore, we asked them to at least perform with their songs,” continues Olga Tuktareva.

Back to ordinary life

We can say that after active tours, concerts and filming on television, the same “Buranovsky grandmothers” who became silver medalists at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, returned to their usual rural life. As before, they do housework. In September, they harvested the crops, dug up potatoes and carrots, dug up the soil, tidied up the gardens and even planted new seedlings...

The youngest of the “Buranovsky Babushki”, the artistic director of the group, Olga Tuktareva (now 46 years old), continues to work at the Buranovsky House of Culture. She is a children's director theater group"Kuzylikar". Local children enjoy inventing fairy tales and preparing theatrical performances. They are currently writing a script for a new play at Udmurt language « Magic chest».

Despite what happened, the “Buranovskie Babushki”, as before, often gather together in the village House of Culture. They sing their favorite songs and learn new ones.

— Nowadays, schoolchildren from neighboring villages, says Olga Tuktareva. “The children want to see our grandmothers, see where they live and what they do. Grandmothers do a great job: they give their warmth and care to our Udmurt children.

Of course, age makes itself felt. After all, they are already over 70 years old, so it happens that the pressure fluctuates, headaches or heaviness in the legs. But when guests arrive, the illness disappears as if by hand.

“Despite everything that happened, our grandmothers want to perform and sing their songs. We asked Ksenia Rubtsova to at least allow us to travel around Udmurtia and perform in village clubs. The fact is that all copyrights are reserved to her. Therefore, we do not have the right to speak on our own, without her permission,” says Olga Tuktareva.

Indeed, according to the contract, which was signed five years ago, all copyrights belong to the House of Lyudmila Zykina, which is headed by Rubtsova. So the grandmothers from the village of Buranovo have no rights to their songs and recordings. And even the name “Buranovskie Babushki” does not belong to them. This is confirmed by the press secretary of the creative team, Svetlana Syrygina:

— According to the terms of the contract, which the grandmothers signed five years ago, the producer has the right to make decisions about replenishing and expanding the composition. It is clear that older people either get sick or have some urgent household chores. And Ksenia suggested several times that they should take someone else into the team. But the grandmothers refused: “We don’t need anyone!” And in principle, if they had agreed to take at least a few people, then there would not have been any revolutionary changes that are happening now.

According to Svetlana Syrygina, grandmothers from Buranov can perform their songs without using phonograms, that is, sing “live” with a button accordion or guitar, or record new “backing tracks.”

New team

So, the grandmothers from the village of Buranovo were replaced by new team. It included former soloists of the State academic ensemble song and dance of Udmurtia “Italmas” by Anna Prokopyeva, the Republican Theater of Folklore Song “Aikai” by Valentin Serebrennikov, as well as former manager ensemble of harmonica players of the Malopurginsky district "Arganchi" Ekaterina Antonova. Amateur singers from the village of Ludorvay, which is located near Izhevsk, were also invited to the new lineup. From the old lineup, only Natalya Pugacheva remained, who underwent a serious operation this year.

According to press secretary Svetlana Syrygina, during this time the new artists managed to learn new songs, make several recordings and perform in several big concerts. The last month has been very busy. Grandmothers performed on the stage of the Kremlin Palace three times: at the anniversaries of Nadezhda Kadysheva and Alexandra Pakhmutova, as well as at a concert dedicated to the Day national unity. In addition, they traveled to Austria, where they performed at folklore festival.

According to Svetlana, the renewed band now performs completely different songs. From the repertoire of the old composition, the song “Veterok” and famous hit“Party for everyone dance”, which you can no longer do without. But it also sounds new version.

Fees - for the church

From the very beginning, the grandmothers from Buranovo said that they performed not for money and fame, but to earn money to build a church in their native village. And, indeed, they invested all the money they received in this business, so they had little left for themselves. True, according to rumors, grandmothers were paid quite modestly. As the former administrator of the group, Maria Tolstukhina, told MK in Izhevsk, they were paid for travel, accommodation, and a small daily allowance, but the fees for performances were very small:

— For a concert, we sometimes received 30 thousand rubles for everyone. But since there were 9 of us, we each had 3 thousand rubles, and we saved the remaining 3 thousand separately - for the church. Since the fees were small, we tried to save on everything. They even took bread, potatoes and canned meat with them on the road. And during the tour, the grandmothers cooked themselves soup and porridge.

Maria Tolstukhina admits that during this time her grandmothers became like family to her:

“In four years they have ceased to be a “project” for me. They became close people to me, one might say, relatives. But last year I left the team and took up own projects.

Perhaps the most important thing is that a church was built in Buranovo. True, the village residents hoped that all work could be completed in the fall and the temple would be opened in November. But not everything in life works out as planned.

“It’s still difficult to say when the temple will open,” says Olga Tuktareva. — We need to pay the debt to the builders for the exterior decoration of the church - one and a half million rubles. In addition, about three million more need to be found for the builders to do the interior finishing and install the fence. We are confident that the temple will definitely be open.

For the sake of objectivity, we will add that the “House of Lyudmila Zykina” also allocated money for the construction of a church in Buranovo. As the producer told the MK in Izhevsk journalist, since 2009, 12 million rubles have been spent on construction.

Of course, Ksenia Rubtsova, as a producer, did a lot to ensure that the whole world recognized Buranovskie Babushki and Udmurtia. She negotiated with the organizers of various concerts and festivals, paid for travel, accommodation and participation in filming. Thanks to her efforts and enthusiasm, the grandmothers traveled half the country and visited many countries of the world.

According to Svetlana Smirnova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Ural Republic, today we need to work together to find a way out of this conflict situation:

- Grandmothers, of course, are great. They have done a lot for our republic. And I love them very much. Today we need to increase the recognition of Udmurtia and improve its image. But I am sure that the Buranovskie Babushki brand does not work for Ksenia Rubtsova, but for the Udmurt Republic as a whole. Of course, Ksenia invested a lot of effort, energy and money so that the grandmothers from Buranovo would be recognized not only in Russia, but also in many countries around the world. Therefore, this situation cannot be viewed from only one side.

— It is clear that the Buranovskie Babushki brand brings in a lot of money. And Ksenia’s desire to promote it further is understandable. And let her succeed. But we cannot imagine our life without songs. Therefore, now it is very important for us that the producer allows us to perform in our native Udmurtia,” Olga Tuktareva says frankly.

She honestly admits that for now old composition“Buranovskie Babushki” are not ready to meet with those who are now acting in their place:

“You have to forgive and let go of the situation.” It's still not working out well. I think it will take some time for the grandmothers to calm down. Then we can meet the new lineup and talk normally.

We can say that the elderly songbirds from the village of Buranovo have gone through fire, water and copper pipes. But life presented them with a new test.

- This is for us good lesson, says Olga Tuktareva. “Apparently, in show business you can’t do anything humanely.” But it’s okay, we can handle this too. God grant that we come out of this situation with dignity. We are always at work, and we have no time for bad thoughts.

They already had the idea of holding a children's party in Buranovo. national festival with the participation of children's groups from different regions of Udmurtia.

The producer and press secretary of “Buranovskie Babushki” Ksenia Rubtsova and Svetlana Syrygina spoke about what caused the radical change in the members of the group and what the new grandmothers will be like.

- Ksenia, what caused the sudden change in the composition of “Buranovskie Babushki”?

Such decisions are not made “suddenly.” And it wasn’t easy for me. First of all, the renewal of the composition is caused by the emotional fatigue of grandmothers. Over the five years of our cooperation, grandmothers took part in dozens of concerts and television broadcasts. They traveled almost all over Russia, visited many foreign countries. Not every young man can withstand such loads, and no one made any allowances for grandmothers for their age.

They, like all artists, flew on night and morning flights, did not get enough sleep, and were tired. And I have no moral right to continue to wear out grandmothers for the sake of popularity. But the main thing is not this, but the fact that initially I did not set myself the goal of promoting specific grandmothers from the Udmurt village of Buranovo. My task was larger. I wanted to unite people who are called by the warm word “grandmother” and, of course, tell all of Russia, the world about the small Udmurt people, their culture and traditions. I am happy that now Udmurtia, where I come from, is known far beyond the borders of our country. And today “Buranovskie Babushki” is not a separate group, but a whole movement that can be joined by all those who are young at heart.

- Did your grandmothers support your idea of their resignation?

Nobody dismissed anyone. I am ready to continue to cooperate with them if they have the desire, strength and opportunity to do so. I respect that one great job, which was held by grandmothers, but we must not forget about those people who stand behind the scenes. Let me emphasize once again that I had no goal of making “stars” out of a single team of a rural club. The Buranovskie Babushki project should continue to grow, that’s normal. It is not normal, from our point of view, to destroy an idea that is in demand by society, the audience and creativity.

- Did the grandmothers manage to fulfill their long-standing dream - to build a temple in their native Buranovo?

The temple as a whole has been built, only minor interior finishing work remains. The presentation of the temple will take place on October 12.

- Will there also be eight grandmothers in the new team?

No, the new composition of “Buranovskie Babushki” will have about 20 participants: 8 main and 12 in reserve. They all live in different villages, and some live in the capital of Udmurtia - Izhevsk. But they are very mobile and “fly” to a concert at the first command.

- Isn’t anyone from the old group of grandmothers eager to return to the team?

Any grandmother from the old team, if she has time, desire and allows emotional condition, can easily integrate into a new team and perform with it. By the way, the oldest of the grandmothers, Natalya Pugacheva, who will turn 79 years old at the end of October, after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in March of this year, has already appeared on stage with the new “grandmothers” several times. So, we are always happy to unite and perform together. I created the team not so much as a commercial project, but as a kind of challenge, a message to all grandmothers, I wanted to prove that in old age you can live fully and happy life. And that age, despite “sores” and fatigue, is not a death sentence.

- On what basis did you select them for the group? Was there a casting?

No, a cry was thrown out and we took almost everyone who responded into the team.

Svetlana Syrygina, press secretary of Buranovskie Babushki

-Who are they, the new grandmothers?

IN updated composition“Buranovskie Babushki” included three professional artists. These are former soloists of the popular ensembles “Italmas” and “Aikai” in Udmurtia, as well as Ekaterina Antonova, former leader of the ensemble of harmonica players “Arganchi” of the Malopurginsky district of Udmurtia. The rest are amateur artists. Some of them work as teachers in kindergarten, there are pensioners and cleaners. The composition is varied.

- Do new grandmothers communicate with their old colleagues?

The new grandmothers treat the old staff with gratitude and great respect. After all, it was thanks to them that the whole country and the entire musical world learned about the grandmothers from the Udmurt village of Buranovo.

- Sveta, how does the viewer react to the new faces of the grandmothers in the team?

For the first couple of songs, the audience pays close attention to them. And while the public is studying them, the grandmothers “turn on” their skills and immediately conquer the audience. Although, by and large, the public cannot always distinguish new grandmothers from old ones. Moreover, they all have the same outfits. The only one who stood out against their general background was the smallest and most charming of the grandmothers - Natalya Pugacheva. The viewer noticed her absence immediately.

- Is the repertoire of the “new” grandmothers the same as that of the “old” ones?

It was updated by 80-90 percent. Many new songs have appeared. Naturally, there were songs that were loved by the audience and which cannot be avoided at concerts. Grandmothers sing many new songs to the accordion.

- Tell me, do grandmothers of the old composition have the right to sing songs from the old repertoire?

The name of the group “Buranovskie Babushki” is patented by the “House of Lyudmila Zykina”; the copyright to the songs also belongs to it. Therefore, according to the law, they cannot use soundtracks of songs from the old repertoire. It is not forbidden to perform old songs live, but phonograms “plus” and “minus” are prohibited.

- And the outfits of the “old” grandmothers were also inherited by the “new” grandmothers?

The new grandmothers perform in the same costumes, only instead of bast shoes they have boots. Every Udmurt grandmother has ancient national dresses and jewelry in her chests. They are glad that they finally have the opportunity to put them into action.

- Do the new grandmothers also keep livestock and poultry?

Almost everything. And those who live in the city have country plots where they grow vegetables. So grandmothers do not change their long-standing traditions.

OPINION

Grandmothers are not in the cash register

Column by columnist Yulia Volosataya

Well, what, it would seem, is this? They changed "Buranovskie Babushki". The composition has been updated. In general, of course, it’s understandable. The result is needed. The ratings are there, the box office receipts are there.

The producer explains. The grandmothers are tired, they say. Traveling, experiences. Without normal rest. And age already.

And in general, it turns out that the goal was not to promote specific grandmothers (the producer formulates it that way). Not all of them, they say, could be distinguished by their faces.
It seems like a different scale was being laid there. Folk culture, for example, to glorify the whole world (who is against it?). Or for the warm word “grandmother” to unite everyone (also great).

Well, in general - party for everyone!* Regardless of age. ()

Director of LLC "House of Lyudmila Zykina" and producer famous group"Buranovskie Babushki" Ksenia Rubtsova invited to join it professional artists, after which the former grandmothers, who performed at Eurovision 2012 with the song Party for Everybody, refused to go on stage.

The group's press secretary, Svetlana Syrygina, told RG that the updated composition of the Buranovskie Babushki included former soloists of the State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of Udmurtia "Italmas" and the Republican Theater of Folklore Song "Aikai" Anna Prokopyeva and Valentina Serebrennikova, as well as Ekaterina Antonova , former director of the ensemble of harmonica players of the Malopurginsky district of Udmurtia "Arganchi".

According to Syrygina, one of the reasons for the renewal of the group was the age of its main participants; most of the “Buranovsky Babushki” are over 70, it is difficult for them to withstand tour schedule and live the nomadic life of an artist, constantly traveling by plane and train.

Constant concerts, filming on TV, traveling take a lot of energy even from young people. After the group gained worldwide fame, there were many requests from younger artists to take them into the group, and it was decided to give them the opportunity to perform under the Buranovskie Babushki brand,” said Syrygina.

According to Rubtsova, it is generally impossible to talk about the “old” and “new” composition of the group, because its members were initially more numerous than those who appeared on stage and on television. The ensemble "Buranovskie Babushki" was created in the village of the same name 40 years ago, and some of its members, such as songwriter Elizaveta Zarbatova, who died in January, have never been seen by the general public.

The group, which took part in tours after Eurovision, consisted of 8 people. The artists did not always perform in exactly this composition; sometimes it changed depending on their state of health or the workload of household chores. Let me emphasize once again that “Buranovskie Babushki” is a project, and not a separate team of a rural club,” Rubtsova explained.

IN recent months artists from Buranov were preparing to perform on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow, where 7 December will pass folk festival creative teams Russia. After the news about the renewal of the group’s composition, the performance of “Buranovskie Babushki”, as the audience was accustomed to seeing them, was in question. The artistic director of the group, Olga Tuktareva, told RG that the grandmothers, who won second place at Eurovision 2012 in Baku, will not go on stage with the new participants.

We always said that we would perform until the temple was completed, after which we would stop touring, because it’s hard for grandmothers to travel so much to concerts. We are not against someone after us performing under the Buranovskiye Babushki brand, but please give us the opportunity to complete the construction,” said Tuktareva.

In their interviews, grandmothers have repeatedly stated that all the money earned on stage will be spent on restoring the Church of the Holy Trinity, built in the village of Buranovo in 1895 and destroyed in the 1930s. Her grandmothers began her restoration immediately after they became famous. Today the temple building itself is ready, the opening of which is scheduled for October 12, but another 2 million rubles are needed for interior decoration. According to Tuktareva, this year the grandmothers performed for 8 months, but “not a penny for the temple” was given to them. Now the pensioners plan to earn the money that needs to be given to contractors on their own.

Ksenia Rubtsova told an RG correspondent that the House of Lyudmila Zykina actually allocated money for the construction of the church. Since 2009, 12 million rubles have been spent on construction, but this was a voluntary desire of the production center team to help the grandmothers.

The builders are ready to open the temple in October and continue work on interior decoration. Another 5.3 million rubles are needed to complete all work. You need to ask them how much the artists invested, since they received fees for every concert, every filming trip. I gave them to Olga Tuktareva. And investing money in the construction of a church or somewhere else is their right,” Rubtsova said.

She also said that the concert in the Kremlin will take place in any case, even if the grandmothers who participated in Eurovision do not come to Moscow.

We respect the great work that the grandmothers did, but we must not forget about those people who stand behind the scenes. We did not have the goal of making “stars” out of a single team of a rural club. The initial goal of the project is to show the value of grandmothers for residents different countries, to unite people who are called by the warm word “grandmother” and, of course, to tell all of Russia, the world about the small Udmurt people, their culture and traditions. The Buranovskie Babushki project should continue to grow, this is normal. It’s not normal, from our point of view, to destroy an idea and creativity that is in demand by society, the viewer,” the producer believes.

Valentina Pyatchenko, member of the first cast of "Buranovskie Babushki"

We're not moping. It's not good to swear or be offended by someone. We travel, perform, and earn a little money. Under your own name. Let them perform under our name, just let them not sing with our voices, we asked them to do so. As for the fees, I’ll say: for the first three years we didn’t receive anything at all. Then for two years we were given 5,000 rubles per concert. We did not leave anything for ourselves - how can we if our church is not completed.

And now we feel good. We have no time to be sick and offended, we need to earn money for the church, we still need so much money! We must complete the temple - this is ours common decision. And even if in the end it turned out to be a not very pleasant story with the producer, but thanks to it we ourselves became so famous and glorified our native village, we saw the whole world. Thank you very much for this.

The scandal surrounding the change of staff in the Buranovskie Babushki group from Udmurtia does not subside. Some diligently defend the position of those very grandmothers who became famous throughout the country by becoming silver medalists at Eurovision 2012 in Baku. Others are trying to understand the producer who wants to continue the project he started so successfully.

“The new line-up was chosen on the basis of territoriality, vocality and ability to hold oneself on stage”

At the end of August this year, information appeared that the band’s producer, Ksenia Rubtsova, had decided to update the lineup. It also included grandmothers, but different ones. Former soloists State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of Udmurtia “Italmas” and the Republican Theater of Folklore Song “Aikai” Anna Prokopyeva and Valentina Serebrennikova. And also Ekaterina Antonova, ex-leader of the ensemble of harmonica players of the Malopurginsky district of Udmurtia “Arganchi”.

After 5 years of performances, the team became emotionally exhausted. Especially over the last two years, when the schedule of performances was particularly busy,” says Svetlana Syrygina, press secretary of “Buranovskie Babushki” radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda - Izhevsk” (wave 107.6 FM).

– During this time, the grandmothers traveled all over Russia and visited many countries of the world. Even a young artist will get tired of such a rhythm, and even more so an older one. And the team is in demand. Therefore, the producer decided to rejuvenate. But I would like to emphasize that the old team is always welcome in the new ranks. In addition to professional artists, the new line-up also included original grannies. True, they are not from Buranovo, but from Ludorvai ( village near Izhevsk. – Approx. author

). They were selected by the current artistic director of the group, Anna Prokopyeva. Ksenia Rubtsova suggested that I gather people,” says Anna Nikolaevna. – It was possible, of course, to gather grandmothers from all over Udmurtia. But technically it would be difficult to find the same time for rehearsals with them. Therefore, we settled on Ludorvai ones. They have good voices

, they know how to work with the audience and move well.

By the way, since September the new team has already been touring Russia under the Buranovskie Babushki brand. 8 people are performing so far. But the plan is to recruit about 30 artists.

The resentment of the old staff has not yet passed

Despite the understandable behavior of the producer, the old lineup flatly refused to perform on the same stage with the new one. The grandmothers were offended, saying they were no longer needed. And the temple, for the construction of which they donated their fees, was never completed. - “Buranovskie Babushki” is our name and how can it be taken away from us? This is us. Let the second cast succeed. We don't wish anything bad for them. Let them record new songs, do worthwhile things that deserve respect. They are going to hold a festival in the Kremlin - very good idea , - says the first artistic director of the group is Olga Tuktareva.

Apparently, the storm of misunderstanding in the old composition is slowly subsiding. Grandmothers say that they now feel freedom and life is becoming calmer.

The path we have traveled has taught us a lot: both awareness of one’s self and creativity. Thank you very much Ksenia for everything she has done. It was good school. And she did everything very well, but she stumbled on the last steps. But she’s still young,” Tuktareva noted. - We will continue to perform, because we need another 5 million to complete the construction of the temple.

There really is no time for the old team to be despondent. On October 12, they held their first service in the new church. But there is still a lot of work to be done. The official opening of the church will most likely take place before the end of the year.

Natalya Pugacheva will perform with a new group, and the song Party for everyone will take on a new sound

By the way, there are some pleasant moments in this cultural reshuffling. For example, the smallest singer of the Buranovskie Babushki group, Natalya Pugacheva, will still appear at concerts.

This is the only grandmother from the old lineup who, despite her age and illness, agreed to perform with the new lineup, says Svetlana Syrygina. – It is clear that she will not take part in every concert, and will only appear on stage for a couple of songs.

Let us remind you that Pugacheva underwent a difficult operation to remove a cancerous tumor back in March of this year.

Also now the new line-up is working on updating the repertoire and phonograms. Well, this year there will be spectators updated version the band's main hit.

The song “Party for everyone” will definitely remain in our repertoire,” said Anna Prokopyeva. - This is a brand song. And if at the first concerts the grandmothers from the old line-up played backing vocals, now we are completely rewriting the soundtrack. Well, we are working on writing new songs. I think there will be new hits in the future.

So the hit from Eurovision will be re-recorded with the participation of the chamber choir “Biscuit” from St. Petersburg. In the new arrangement, for the first time, the residents of Vienna will be able to appreciate the song, where a group from Udmurtia will perform on October 31 at a folklore festival.

There are many plans for this year. We'll be spending a lot of time on tour and in recording studios. Residents of Udmurtia will be able to see our concerts only in next year, says Prokopyeva. - On October 26 we are going to Moscow to record phonograms - for the anniversary of Nadezhda Kadysheva, for Statehood Day, for the New Year. In November we will perform in Moscow at a concert by Alexandra Pakhmutova, for the police.

Well, the main event of the year - the Buranovsky Grandmothers festival - will take place on December 7 at the State Kremlin Palace. It will take place as part of the opening of the Year of Udmurtia in Moscow. The concert will be attended by other groups from Udmurtia, Russian regions, as well as popular Russian artists, world-famous stars.

BY THE WAY

Recording of a broadcast on radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda - Izhevsk” (107.6 FM) with the participation of the new artistic director of “Buranovskie Babushki” Anna Prokopieva and the group’s press secretary Svetlana Syrygina

“Buranovskie Babushki” is perhaps the only Russian amateur group that has covered itself, if not with world fame, then certainly with European fame. Charismatic, spontaneous, sincere team members in masterpieces national costumes made a splash on the international stage.

Compound

The official residence of the group is the village of Buranovo not far from Izhevsk, the capital of the Udmurt Republic. The core of the ensemble's members are village residents who have long since retired, but are still cheerful and active. And most importantly, they are not indifferent to folk songs.

Natalya Yakovlevna Pugacheva is considered the face of the team. The woman was born 6 years before the start of the Great Patriotic War, I only studied at school for a year. She raised 4 children, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. At a very old age, the resilient grandmother underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Among other things, Natalya Pugacheva is the oldest Eurovision participant in the entire history of the competition.

Colleagues of the most charming participant in “Buranovskie Babushki” - Ekaterina Shklyaeva, Valentina Pyatchenko, Granya Baysarova, Zoya Dorodova, Alevtina Begisheva, Galina Koneva - women with a difficult fate, who outlived their husbands and sons. However, the burden of years and events did not in any way weaken the women’s thirst for life and love for music.

The optimistic grandmothers are led by Olga Tuktareva, who is also the director of the village House of Culture. In addition to general guidance, she translates modern songs into the Udmurt language, which are then heard from the stage performed by “Buranovskie Babushki”.

Unfortunately, in 2014, the oldest member of the team, Elizaveta Zarbatova, passed away. Elizaveta Filippovna once wrote the song “Long, long birch bark and how to make an aishon out of it.” This song became the ensemble's pass to qualifying round"Eurovision".

The news about the colorful ensemble from Udmurtia spread widely after the Buranovskys performed at the anniversary. Later, Ksenia Rubtsova, director of Lyudmila Zykina’s House LLC, took over the responsibilities of the group’s producer and, according to media reviews, turned folk ensemble into a business project to make money.

She, by a strong-willed decision, made changes to the composition of “Buranovskie Babushki”, including former performers from two other ensembles among the artists. Rubtsova explained the new composition of the group by the fact that it is difficult for grandmothers to tour, and the viewer is not at all familiar with someone from the group. In addition, after the onset of world fame, young artists wanted to perform under the Buranovskie Babushki brand.

At the same time, the producer did not bother to personally talk with the grandmothers about the prospects for changing the composition; the first soloists learned about everything from the Internet. They also did not take into account the fact that the grandmothers asked to be allowed to continue performing in order to raise money for the restoration of the church in their native village. Moreover, the older artists do not own the name “Buranovskie Babushki” or even the phonograms on own songs. And in order to tour in your native Udmurtia or anywhere else, you need to ask Rubtsova’s permission.

At the same time, the new team did not need the established collection of its predecessors. The ensemble performs new songs; from the previous repertoire, “Veterok” and the hit “Party for everyone dance”, which made the grandmothers stars, remain from the previous repertoire.

The good news is that the grandmothers did not lose heart, changed the name of the ensemble to “Grandmothers from Buranov” and continue to delight fans with lively songs.

In addition, the members of the ensemble realized the dream for which they endured so much - they opened a temple in native village. In fairness, we note that the “House of Lyudmila Zykina” contributed to the financial support of the construction.

Music

The grandmothers' repertoire consisted of Udmurt and Russian folk songs. However, their performance in the Udmurt language of hits of modern rock and pop music - , DJ Slon, brought them particular fame.

Despite their far from young age, the performers toured the country and half the world. Moreover, if the schedule of performances was violated, it was only because of chores or field work.

In 2014, Buranovskie Babushki presented a video for new song"Veterok" especially for Olympic Games in Sochi. Wrote the music former member, words - director of the ensemble Olga Tuktareva.

At the Spasskaya Tower festival, Udmurt performers performed together with French star. After singing the song “Ciao, bambino, sori,” the grandmothers admitted that it was not difficult to sing in French, since the languages are somewhat similar.

In 2016, active pensioners recorded a song in the electro-house style with young fellow countrymen - musicians of the Ektonika project. The guys wrote the music in a club arrangement, and the grandmothers wrote the words in the Udmurt language.

Especially for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a video of the song “Ole-Ola” by the Buranovsky Grandmothers was published on the Internet. In the video, the artists sang, danced and made several football passes. Enthusiastic spectators noted that there was no shame in such active participants, in comparison with the 11 members of the Russian football team.

"Eurovision"

We tried to conquer the stage of the major European song festival “Buranovskie Babushki” twice. The debut of 2010 turned out to be very successful - with the song authored by a colleague in the group “Long, Long Birch Bark and How to Make an Aishon from It,” the singers took 3rd place in the Russian qualifying round.

Two years later, the grandmothers amazed the selection jury with the composition “Party for every body”, performed in Udmurt and English languages. The recording of the ensemble's performance in the final of the competition in Baku was ahead of other competitors in terms of the number of views.

“Buranovskie Babushki” were second only to Swedish singer, which journalists called a discovery for Europe. Simple, sincere performance left far behind shocking competitors with their theatrical performances and glamorous gloss. To a reasonable question why the grandmothers needed to conquer the international stage, the artistic director of the ensemble answered that there was only one goal - to build a church in the village of Buranovo.

Three years later, the team contacted parting words k, who was chosen to defend the colors of the Russian flag at Eurovision 2015. The grandmothers noted that Polina has a strong voice and they like songs from the girl’s repertoire - “Cuckoo” and “The Performance is Over.”

"Buranovskie Babushki" now

The ensemble from Udmurtia continues to not only delight with unusual performances, but also surprise fans with the ease with which the artists manage to break stereotypes about folk music.

One of the Internet hits is a video in which grandmothers play out the title theme of a cult computer game Mortal Kombat. The video was filmed specifically for the TNT-4 channel, which sent the recording to the PromaxBDA UK-2017 competition.

By the way, this is the most prestigious award in telemarketing, design and production. In 2017, the TV channel won all the main prizes in the category “Best Promotion on foreign language" The video with the participation of grandmothers received bronze.

In December 2017 at YouTube channel published new clip"Buranovsky grandmothers" called "Vyl Aren". The singers remained true to themselves and chose to perform another hit - Jingle Bells, singing in Russian and English. For the joyful holiday, the perky artists presented a video for the song “New Year’s”.

Singer Dmitry Nesterov gave the Buranovskys a second youth. An artist who can sing in three in different voices, “Russian Joe Dassin” was not promised any prospects at the beginning of cooperation with “Buranovskie Babushki”. Nevertheless, the musician recorded with the ensemble the compositions “I’m 18 Again,” “We Wish You Happiness,” “ New Year", "Hello".
