Danila Kozlovsky concerts. The “Big Dream” came true: Danila Kozlovsky sang at the Bolshoi

"A big dream an ordinary person"came true - on stage Bolshoi Theater The premiere of a musical performance by actor Danila Kozlovsky took place, who, it turns out, always sang and even once chose between theater and stage.

In the foyer of the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theater - the whole color of cinema and show business: friends and colleagues of Danila Kozlovsky. Many admit: before this premiere, they knew nothing about the actor’s “Big Dream” and had never heard him sing.

“I’m worried, I’m terribly interested in what will happen. He is an incredibly talented person, he, in principle, can speak in song - and it will be fine,” says director and actor Fyodor Bondarchuk.

“If you believe me, I didn’t spy on anything. I’m also a human being, I also want to have my first emotions,” notes National artist Russia, artistic director ballet troupe Bolshoi Theater Sergei Filin.

“I know that Danya was very shy to sing, but he always had such a dream. I hope that it will turn out great,” says People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Baskov.

The producer of the musical performance, Philip Kirkorov, says that he heard Kozlovsky sing for the first time a year ago at a charity evening in St. Petersburg. And then - on solo concert in Plyos, where Danila performed songs from the Soviet era.

“He sang very well, and then I saw that it could be grandiose if it was all presented correctly. Of course, I suggested something, expressed my opinion, but I tried to do it very delicately, because I in no way In any case, I didn’t want to put pressure on Danila’s personality with my pop authority,” emphasizes People’s Artist of Russia, producer Philip Kirkorov.

For a dramatic actor, going on stage at the Bolshoi Theater is a challenge to oneself. Kozlovsky always wanted to sing. Once upon a time he even chose whether to go to the stage or go to the theater. In his debut repertoire - American classic Stars: Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra.

“He has very great acting, singing and human potential - which is the most important thing. It’s visible, it’s all projected onto the stage. In life he is very sincere, very warm-hearted, there is no such stardom,” notes People’s Artist of Russia Lev Leshchenko.

Kozlovsky prepared for this show for only a year. Rehearsals every day for four hours. In parallel, I work in the theater and film three films at once.

“If filming started at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, he went to dance and vocals in the morning. And just like that, he had two to three hours to sleep,” says Philip Kirkorov.

After the performance, behind the scenes there was a string of congratulations.

Can you say that your dream has come true?
- Certainly!

At first they planned to show this performance only in Moscow and St. Petersburg. But, according to the producers, there are already dozens of invitations from other cities. So they will announce it soon tour Danila Kozlovsky.

Danila about the performance:

“To put it simply and honestly, this is a dream come true. I've been wanting to do a concert for a very long time, or, let's say, musical performance in the form of a concert with its own dramaturgy, the main material of which would be the songs of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole.”

The Ordinary Man's Big Dream Recipe

There is a moment when out of the vanity
Significant dates are coming.
When they become winged
Suddenly grown-up dreams.

There is music that through the years
It sounded like the right note.
And I never faked it
And she never stopped talking.

There is audacity to choose a difficult path,
Turning off the beaten path.
To step where for many
I don't have the courage to take a step.

There is a scene - there are no relatives.
It doesn't matter what it's called,
She remains yours
While he lives in your soul.

There are people that God sent
Always be close -
And in the bitter moment when you fell,
And joyful when he took off.

There is a thirst - life is not half-hearted,
Everything is bursting, to the point of hoarseness...
...Ingredients for a Dream
Ordinary Danila.

Behind the scenes

From Danila’s interview with Sobake.ru (May 2015):

“I dreamed about this for twelve years: to sing the songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis Jr. Sing, play, dance. Turn it all into a musical and dramatic performance. And I am incredibly grateful to the people who believed in me. First of all, Philip Kirkorov, for his persistence and tremendous support. Grateful to Sergei Zhilin, the leader of one of the best today jazz orchestras countries. Vladimir Urin, thanks to whom the premiere in Moscow will take place on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater. Valery Fokin, artistic director Alexandrinsky Theater. All these people and more made it possible for my dream to come true. And I will never forget this.”
MK: Danila, on the one hand, you seem to be giving up the status of a star, calling yourself an “ordinary person.” On the other hand, you are going to perform in this capacity on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater and the Bolshoi Theater. So what is more in this adventure - modesty or arrogance?

Danila: If we talk about me as an artist who has starred in a certain number of popular films, then, probably, I really am not the most ordinary citizen. And before this dream, before the scale of the musical performance, its technological and artistic complexity, and finally, before this music and the canonical performers of these songs - I am a very ordinary person. At the same time, I understand that going on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater with such a program is, of course, arrogance. But we are not doing an ordinary concert, but a musical performance, which completely - from the production part, scenery, lighting and ending with music, vocals, performance - consists of technically quite complex elements. We do not have a premises similar, for example, to London's Royal Albert Hall, but both the Alexandrinsky Theater and the New Bolshoi Stage are completely adequate to our artistic tasks.

MK: Speaking of repertoire. Why Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin?

Danila: It so happened that in 1993 a Sony single-cassette tape recorder appeared in my family. For those times - absolute chic. It came with four tapes produced by the BBC: Liza Minnelli, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavarotti. My mother played this music for me at night, I listened to it, and it began to get into me. Moreover, she began to accompany me everywhere. Should I watch an American film like “Casablanca” or “Roman Holiday”. Or I’ll go to Kazarnovsky’s class center, where education is based, among other things, on the perception of such music. Even in cadet corps I somehow returned to it. And when I connected my life with what I’m still doing, I suddenly realized that I really wanted to sing. I want it the way any person who really can’t sing wants it.

MK: Great news for those who gathered for your concert!

Danila: No, now I work with two vocal teachers almost every day and for several hours. But when I first realized that I wanted to perform these songs - and this was in my first year of theater, that is, 13 years ago - I didn’t even understand how to approach this. I was just dreaming. And this dream did not disappear over time. Once I told my friend, the famous pop singer Philip Kirkorov. He replied: “Take it and do it. Otherwise, you will continue to look for excuses as to why this is impossible.” I listened to him, but continued to film films. Until at a certain point in my life it happened a charity concert in support of the center for training and rehabilitation of autism “Anton is here”. It was an absolute gamble, which was supported by Lesha Goribol, a wonderful pianist with whom we performed Soviet hits of the 60s. On my part, it was a performance of appalling quality, my very first amateur experience. But psychologically the first step had been taken. After this, we spoke with Philip again and began preparations for the project. They promised to give themselves a year to prepare. Take as many rehearsals as needed, find the venue that really suits it, so that it can be heard. And I am very grateful to Philip for his support.

Attended the concert on May 3 big fan MDT - Theater of Europe Georgy Mua. We are publishing his story about how he learned about Danil, and about the impression the concert made on him.

In my life, I first met Danila on Liteiny Prospekt. He walked with headphones on and sang to the whole street. It seemed that the whole city could hear his singing. I walked by and thought what an eccentric, but surprisingly, he did not cause any negativity in me. I soon found out who it was.

On stage, I saw him in the mid-2000s in the role of Edgar in the avant-garde “King Lear” by Lev Dodin at the MDT - Theater of Europe. By that time, I was already thoroughly in love with the work of this theater, I thoroughly knew the repertoire and capabilities of most of the actors. Even then he noted that he had a very expressive face and a magnetism rare for young actors. When he appeared on stage, he was not lost against the background of such a theatrical giant as Peter Semak. I remember the episode in which Danila was shaking in the rain and repeated in front of the abandoned King: “John is cold, John is cold.” Then I saw him as Ralph in the play Lord of the Flies. I admit, he didn’t leave a big mark on me, but our very next meeting killed me. I will never forget Colonel Novikov’s space-tearing scream when he drove the troops into the attack in “Life and Fate” - perhaps the most masterpiece performance of all that I have seen, how veins appeared all over Danila’s face, his eyes filled with rage. The new leader of the Russian theater shone before me. And it was at these same poles that he approached his dream in the status of an actor already recognized by critics and loved by the public, but wildly afraid of this variety debut and trembling, as his hero trembled 10 years ago in King Lear.

For many years I have wanted to see the public in St. Petersburg at some luxury event. No, don't touch her, see her. In traffic jams I see hundreds of ultras expensive cars, boutiques throughout the metropolis are not in poverty, but if news regularly comes from Moscow about some incredibly wealthy audience, here I have never seen them in large numbers, although I regularly attend tours of theaters and artists. And today I saw it. The audience in the hall of the Alexandrinsky Theater was very wealthy, and the ticket prices excluded the appearance of another (No complaints against the artist in this regard). But people behaved very honorably, and the reason for this was, again, Danila. A completely humane delay of 15 minutes, a huge projector appears on stage, an introductory video immerses the audience in a bohemian and intoxicating atmosphere of luxury, and he appears. I was very afraid of failure. I respect Danila too much as an artist, I root for his success too much. He sang very well. Not once did his voice break. All notes are clean and successfully hit. His soul sang and it was physically felt how much he loved this music - Sinatra, Bennett, Dean Martin and other leaders of the Rat Pack.

The stage was decorated succinctly and, at the same time, it was a feast for the eyes. Sparkling light bulbs, a starry sky, a staircase rising up to it, flanked by the magnificent orchestra of Sergei Zhilin (I must separately mention this most pleasant person and professional). In general, the action invariably gave rise to gastronomic and perfumery associations. Especially the two most striking numbers. In one, Danila sang about a wandering and poor dancer who dances to forget himself, save up for a bottle of whiskey and close his eyes (Alas, I don’t know the name of the dancer who performed in this number, but my deepest bow to him). At that moment, an image of a night, empty New York with thousands of lights, where millions of people sleep around you, but you are alone, appeared inside me. Alone with the city, the wind blows on your face, you are free, your eyes are sparkling, and somewhere is waiting for you Lucky case, “time will put everything in its place, but it’s too long to wait.” The second one shocked me - the song "Smile" by Frank Sinatra, during which the image of Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Vivien Leigh, Marilyn Munro appeared on the screen. Danila sang very tenderly and quietly, I looked at these incredible personalities and as if I was seeing them for the first time. My whole being was filled with delight from their faces, eyes, from their gaze. I suddenly felt that these Divas - collective image all the most desirable, beautiful, unattainable and perfect, that each of them and all together gave generations a world that is always unattainable, but to which everyone strives. It seemed to me that I was in a hotel room with the woman I loved, we were drinking dry red wine, and she went into the shower. The song was coming to an end, the music was fading, and suddenly a New York morning came, the taste of cheesecake and black coffee was on my lips, the sun was confidently creeping up and illuminating the awakening city, glinting off the windows of cars and houses.

All this was very good, worthy, sincere. I saw absolutely happy person. Talented, hard worker. But I didn't experience catharsis. I smiled, it was warm, very warm, but I have to write this to be honest with myself. Danila sings songs of Sinatra and Nat King Cole beautifully, but he is not them. I understand that such a goal is not set, and in general it sounds strange. But in this genre he can only be the first behind them, but not himself. In the theater, I am almost always pinned to the seat by Danila’s performance, as if in the worst turbulence. He is like a tornado. And it is in the theater that he is his equal. Let me explain. In the theater he is Lopakhin, he is Ferdinand and so on. That is, he does not rehash something, he himself, here and now, materializes a non-existent person, and this person lives exactly as long as the actor allows him to live. There is not even a shred of barrier between him and the hero. One whole. And that’s why Danila’s passion and truth always amazes me. He doesn't play in the theater, he lives there, to the breaking point, to the limit. Today on stage he played, played that boy from his dreams, himself from his dreams. But he did it with dignity.

When a person's dream comes true, it is a great happiness. Not just him. Everyone. Every single person on the planet. Only a few dreams come true; people have long been taught to be deceived and then tormented by unfulfilled illusions. Therefore, when it comes true for someone, it is happiness. It is valor to be able to be happy for someone else, even if stranger. There was definitely a piece of you in his dream, the happiness of one, even for a second. I am incredibly glad that everything happened, that the beautiful guy’s eyes were shining, that the lovely girls filled the stage with flowers, that he gives them some kind of naive, slightly childish, but much-needed feeling for everyone of being involved in something important. Danila in many ways unites my generation, the generation of young people, and represents us in at its best. He loves his job, he is infinitely devoted to his wonderful mother, he is devoid of pathos, he wants to help, he is grateful. He big man. And any big person stands on several firmly driven piles and leans on them. And the foundation for everything is native home. Love for him and devotion. Over the course of our lives, we change apartments, cars, companions, and habits. One thing remains unchanged - each of us has a native pier, a place where they love and wait, where our soul lives, where the Teacher will always smile at us. Rubinshteina 18, Danila, remember and never forget. Your dream has come true. Tomorrow you will wake up happy or unhappy, no one knows, but God has given you a chance to be part of a unique experiment, greatest journey in life, to be part of the Maly troupe Drama Theater- Theater of Europe, student of Lev Abramovich Dodin, resident best city land - St. Petersburg. On the sharp turns of dreams, in the blinding shine of spotlights, do not lose the path to your home.

The curtain suddenly dropped, and dozens of girls were left standing with bouquets near the stage. Tired Danila waved his hand and disappeared backstage, his mother smiling widely. I remembered passionate dance Danila and Paulina Andreeva in the middle of the performance, grinning, I imagined myself next to her in this dance, passionately, and a hero of my time suddenly appeared in my head, not at all a handsome gray-haired man with a cigar and a glass of whiskey, but a squinting hooligan with Far East, Ilya Igorevich Lagutenko, who sang:

"Hand below the hip he's like a pillar
The assault squad looks through the crack
We're the only ones left to be torn to pieces
A couple of simple and young guys."

One more review

At the beginning of January, looking through a poster on one of the sites, I saw news that could not leave me indifferent: May 3 and 4 at the Alexandrinsky Theater there will be a musical performance by Danila Kozlovsky entitled “The Big Dream of an Ordinary Man”. It was then that I learned that Danila had long dreamed of singing. I ordered the tickets without delay, however, I must admit, my friends and acquaintances did not share my delight. "Is he singing now?" “He’s an actor, what kind of singer is he?” - I had to listen to similar phrases from more than one person. Not a single argument in favor of his rightness, except for the seemingly banal " Talented man talented in everything" I couldn’t cite, because the only piece of music Danila's performance, which I heard then, was the song "My way" from the play " The Cherry Orchard"And therefore I simply preferred to remain silent and wait until the day of the premiere to draw my conclusions and, as I hoped, adequately respond to the comments of people who were skeptical about Danil Kozlovsky as a singer.

Approaching majestic building Alexandrinsky Theater, I thought about the fact that few of contemporary performers, for whom music is their main occupation, will ever be able to perform on this legendary stage. Then the number of luxury cars outside the theater caught my attention. I headed towards the foyer and suddenly stopped when I saw a man whom I had never dreamed of meeting outside the stage, where he appears from time to time with his artists. Yes, Lev Abramovich Dodin was standing in the foyer. We made eye contact and I muttered, “Hello,” and then, still in a state of slight shock, I went to the wardrobe.

When the concert just began, when the first shots of the story that accompanied the performance appeared on the screen, when the wonderful orchestra began playing under the direction of Sergei Zhilin, when Danila came on stage and sang, I thought that I had never seen a show of this level made in Russia, and, Moreover, I could hardly imagine it. As the lady sitting next to me noted: “You can feel the Owl’s scope.” And indeed, the concert turned out to be grandiose and bright in Kirkorov’s style, but in every note, in every movement one could feel Danila’s inherent delicacy, intelligence, sense of proportion, discriminating taste and incredible emotional return.

During the concert, Danila said that many people dissuaded him from this idea, that perhaps tomorrow he will wake up not so happy, but at least he tried to fulfill his dream, and this is better than not trying at all. On my own behalf, I want to add that he not only tried. He definitely succeeded! And the audience was delighted!

For me, the evening really turned out to be wonderful - my favorite artist on stage, making his long-time dream come true, my favorite songs, including “Mr. Bojangles”, “What a wonderful world”, “Love”, “My way”, “Sway”, the incredible sound of live music, touching to the depths of the soul, loud applause and absolutely deserved shouts of “Bravo!”, a meeting with Lev Abramovich, and after the concert near the wardrobe - with a wonderful artist, one of my favorites of the European theater - Oleg Ryazantsev. Emotions that are difficult to convey in words!

I sincerely hope that a recording of the concert will be released soon. And the reason is not only that I again want to at least touch a little of this wonderful musical performance, albeit through a screen. Now I have a weighty argument for those of my friends who were perplexed about Danila Kozlovsky in the role of a singer :) And I have no doubt that they will watch the recorded concert and change their minds. Or maybe they will even regret that they did not see with their own eyes how the big dream of an ordinary person became a reality on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater!

Trailer
C.A.T. is:

On the new stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, the concert “The Big Dream of an Ordinary Man” was held, the main star of which was the actor (and now singer) Danila Kozlovsky, and the producer of the show was Philip Kirkorov. All the cream of cinema and show business gathered in the hall. Even politicians attended the event.

Philip Kirkorov - not only talented singer and a showman, but also an excellent producer and organizer. In any case, in this capacity he fully revealed himself during preparation. And no matter what arguments critics bring in favor of the fact that Big place Only “high” art, the concert took place. And judging by the number of guests, friends and fans, Kozlovsky and Kirkorov have more than ill-wishers.

That evening, the Bolshoi brought together people who would be difficult to imagine gathered together at one event - for example, director Sergei Solovyov, singer Boris Moiseev and Russian Presidential Assistant for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Kozhin. The latter, by the way, appeared in the theater lobby in the company of Ida and Alexander Dostman - his wife, Olesya Boslovyak, as it turned out, was delayed.

It could not have happened, of course, without Nikolai Baskov - his “sworn friend” came to support the king of pop, and one of the first. True, in the first seconds, the “natural blond”, putting his hand to his chest, hesitated whether to go to the gym or go to the press room to take pictures. And his heart nevertheless directed him straight to the reporters’ lenses.

Athlete Tatyana Navka, who has every chance of supplanting Galina Yudashkina in the unofficial nomination “main bride of the year,” was accompanied by eldest daughter. The heir to the famous couturier Valentina Yudashkina and her fiancé Pyotr Maksakov also joined the guests, but literally a few minutes before the start of the show.

Philip Kirkorov met all especially important guests personally. “Will you stay for the banquet?” – he carefully asked Valentin and Tatyana Yumashev. “Oleg Evgenievich!” – he loudly greeted actor Oleg Menshikov and his wife through the crowd and was literally flying towards them, despite the obstacles of numerous photographers.

Singer Alsou admitted that she had never heard Danila Kozlovsky sing before (and didn’t even watch videos of the actor’s first experiments on YouTube out of curiosity), but she believes that he mastered Frank Sinatra’s repertoire as brilliantly as he mastered the role of Valery Kharlamov in the film "Legend No. 17".

Director Valery Todorovsky did not doubt Kozlovsky’s vocal abilities for a second: “Danila feels like a showman!” However, with such support, the actor should have really felt like, at a minimum, a participant in the Golden Gramophone Award.

Many of those present wondered whether the actress would come to the concert at the premiere of the film “Duhless-2”. She has arrived.

True, among the late guests. But for this occasion the beauty dressed in a scarlet dress with bare shoulders, a corset and a spectacular slit on the leg. Olga did not communicate particularly actively with celebrities: she greeted Philip Bedrosovich and posed for photographers alone in the corner for several minutes until she saw director Anna Melikyan - this meeting clearly pleased both of them. But Danila Kozlovsky did not come out to the audience and photographers before the concert, however, everyone reacted to this with understanding.
