The Union State TV channel celebrated its 10th anniversary in a new format

The Union State TV channel celebrated its 10th anniversary on September 25. He met it in a completely new format, adopting the slogan “We are changing for you!”

When recently, visiting the SOYUZ editorial office, the new chairman of the Union State Broadcasting Organization (TRO), Nikolai Efimovich, promised that the channel would go on air 90 percent updated on his birthday, these words seemed fantastic. But that’s exactly what happened: today, especially for Soyuz readers, the head of TRO presents a new network and concept for the channel.

You have a large TV screen in your office, where there are now two logos: TRO and BelRos. Congratulations on your anniversary and the start of a new broadcast!

Nikolai Efimovich: Yes, the reboot, despite many circumstances and forecasts, was successful. Since September 25, our TV channel has been operating in a new format. Our Belarusian partners’ program about beauty is on air right now theater actor, People's Artist USSR Gennady Ovsyannikov - cycle “Ours about us”. There was no such program before: we have a one hundred percent new grid. We ourselves didn’t even fully believe that it would succeed. After all, they started rebranding only six months ago. This is an unimaginable amount of time to launch a channel virtually from scratch. Plus the formation of a new team, a million different organizational issues and problems, and all within the framework of the existing budget.

Was it worth taking such a risk?

Nikolai Efimovich: We are certainly grateful to our predecessors: they really laid the foundation Union Television. But the fact that, taking into account all modern challenges - socio-political, informational, media, the channel must reach new round development is beyond doubt.

So, from September 25, we actually got a second wind. We were solving several problems at once: restarting the TV channel, forming new team, prepare a development concept for the next couple of years. And then it turned out that without dramatic changes the activities of the broadcasting organization itself cannot be avoided. We had to prepare a whole package of proposals: now we are waiting for a joint board of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of Russia and the Ministry of Information of Belarus, which will consider issues of the effectiveness of the activities of the union media. AND main question- on the reform of the television and radio broadcasting organization, primarily the television channel.

How was the canal grid formed?

Nikolai Efimovich: The basic thing is to create new own programs. They are created with the help of partners, since their creative staff We do not have our own production according to the statutory documents. We announce competitions for each project. In Belarus, without competition, we form a pool of partners, presenting high creative criteria. First of all, these are those who have already proven themselves in the union media field.

Most of the current network is new programs of our production. Plus purchased content - ready-made programs or cycles that were successfully broadcast on national channels in Belarus and Russia. And finally, a completely updated line of feature-documentary films, both modern and with a nostalgic touch - Soviet ones. We even decided to return series to the channel.

One of the main priorities of the channel is to create truly high-quality news

What will the news be?

Nikolai Efimovich: One of the main priorities is the creation of truly high-quality union news. All that remains from the previous ones is the name “Soyuzinform”. It's good and accurate. News, of course, was present before, but it was completely slow. We immediately changed our manufacturing partner news programs, the entire style of their presentation. Soyuzinform is published eight times a day, every three hours. Moreover, each subsequent release necessarily comes with an update.

Imagine, relatively speaking, the channel’s top new programs.

Nikolai Efimovich: Talk show "There is a question": the hottest agenda of the week. The program is being filmed in Minsk, with the participation of - required condition- Russian experts. What was most talked about in last week both here and even throughout the world - the Russian-Belarusian exercise "Zapad-2017". So first talk show about this theme.

Program "State Interest": with the Secretary of State of the Union State Grigory Alekseevich Rapota once a month we discuss the most interesting topics And important events from the life of the Union State. We are introducing street talk, when our citizens ask questions to the Secretary of State right from the street.

The interview series “Our People” will be published once a week. The interlocutors are not only Russian and Belarusian politicians, economists, cultural figures, but also people simply interested in the history and realities of the two countries. The hero of the first issue, for example, is the famous allied politician Franz Klintsevich. He even reads Belarusian language"Near Lukomorye there is a green oak...".

Nikolai Efimovich: It is very important and necessary that our viewer immediately understand: yes, this is Russian-Belarusian television. Photo: Roman Shcherbenkov

Every TV channel today necessarily has a program about travel. For us this is the “Map of the Motherland”. We wanted to find our “trick”: the presenter, a Russian guy, travels around Belarus. From the Minsk side, a wonderful beauty girl is traveling around Russia. But they go in no direction: there is a plot intertwining - Braslav Lakes and Seliger. Or the historical neighboring cities - Pskov and Vitebsk.

The first episodes have already been filmed culinary program"Brotherly Kitchen" Her face became the most famous TV presenter Belarus Alena Spiridovich, who has been leading for 25 years music Festival"Slavic Marketplace". In “Brotherly Kitchen,” our common culinary roots are revealed, and viewers are in for a surprise, unusual for programs of this kind.

"Minsk - Moscow". We decided that our network lacked a purely consumer program. What are our citizens entitled to in all important areas of life?

"New PROreading". Russians and Belarusians read the same books, love the same writers. The hosts of the program, Minsk residents Evgenia Pasternak and Andrei Zhvalevsky, themselves create wonderful books for children and teenagers.

"Cinema Factory" Belarusfilm has long become a well-known film platform: many Russian studios today prefer to film there. News from the site is supplemented with nostalgic archival materials. There are also two premieres on our schedule: the Belarusian film " State border" and the documentary "Arctic. The end of the world".

Five simple questions about the BelRos (TRO) channel

Where to see?

Nikolai Efimovich: We are a satellite pay channel. Our concept raises the question of creating a publicly accessible Union Television, but today the realities are such that you can watch us in digital television packages of all leading operators both in Russia and Belarus. The channel, however, is positioned differently in different packages: educational, historical and cultural, scientific and educational, even ethnic. So we will work with operators on this issue. We are a socio-political channel!

Who watches TRO?

Nikolai Efimovich: Our potential audience is 50-60 million if we take all households in Russia and Belarus. Of course, we have much fewer viewers. But digital television is developing very actively. We are watched not only in Russia and Belarus, but also by the Russian-speaking population in the Baltic states, Ukraine, and the CIS countries. To work for the future, we must know our real audience. Therefore, we have now ordered its measurement.

Are there reruns on the channel?

Nikolai Efimovich: Of course, there is, given the fact that we broadcast on Far East, and to Siberia. Therefore, taking into account time zones, one should not be surprised that the programs of a 24-hour channel are repeated, say, at one in the morning and at three in the morning. We have a huge reach.

Why do you have two logos?

Nikolai Efimovich: Yes, TRO and BelRos. This is not entirely common, and we discussed for a long time how to do it better. Because, on the one hand, it is important for us to show continuity. We didn’t just jump out of the box like hell. On the other hand, in former name TRO does not have a clear positioning that it is a Russian-Belarusian channel. Nowadays, given the abundance of television broadcasting, the viewer most often chooses niche channels. It is very important and necessary that our viewer immediately understand: yes, this is Russian-Belarusian television. Your own, dear, close. That BelRos is a TV channel that unites and brings us closer!

How many people work on the channel?

Nikolai Efimovich: Thirty people: twenty-four in Moscow and six in Minsk.
