Good day, gentlemen and ladies. I won’t beat around the bush: I present to your attention the final version of my ranking of the best anime titles of 2017 – improved and updated. This time I decided to divide the top into two parts: the first consists of high-quality sequels released last year(and there were really a lot of them), and the second is one of the best premiere releases. By tradition, I want to warn you: if you don’t see a title you like in this top, then most likely I either didn’t watch it, or I simply didn’t like it - this also happens. Let's respect each other and be understanding of other people's opinions. And now, having dealt with the formalities, it’s time to move directly to the top. So, I present to your attention my ranking of the 10 best anime titles of 2017.

Good sequels

In fact, after watching the first season of Saekano, I had no plans to start watching the second. In the end, the first season was an ordinary, ordinary harem with a simple plot and beautiful art, telling about how an otaku surrounds himself with talented beauties who dote on him, and creates a dating simulator with them. However, the second season exceeded all my expectations. Taking all the best from the first season, the writers added a few current problems, drama and romance, and as a result turned from an ordinary harem into a versatile and intriguing anime, which was a pleasure to while away a couple of evenings watching.

A successful continuation of one of my favorite comedies. KonoSuba will tell you the story of a Japanese hikikomori who, together with the goddess Aqua, was abandoned in a parallel world, where he is forced to fight the all-powerful demon lord. But something always doesn't go according to plan. In the second season you will find the same sparkling humor, a simple plot, crazy characters, a complete lack of meaning and a gorgeous opening. This is exactly what comedies should be like in my opinion – bold, simple and funny. And if they also contain the explosive sorceress Megumin... What else can you dream of?

Perhaps the most anticipated release of the year. Of course, viewers have been waiting for several years for the continuation of the sensational Attack on Titan. And now, finally, we have waited. The result met expectations - a second season is added new characters, answers many of the questions posed, and, of course, throws up a bunch of new ones. All this is presented together with excellent art and music. The only pity is that the second season consists of only twelve episodes. I will also note that many of the negative features of the premiere season migrated to the second, which primarily concerns the slow development of events and the abundance of flashbacks. However, I enjoyed the second season of Shingeki no Kyojin. We are waiting for the continuation.

Continuation of the best shonen of 2016. In a world where 90% of the world's population has supernatural powers, the superhero profession is thriving. Impeccable style of Western comics, excellent musical accompaniment, bright characters and a dynamic plot - this title has everything to satisfy the needs of fans of the shonen genre.

I’m sure many will be surprised now, because almost no one has heard of the existence of this title. And personally, I think that this is completely undeserved, and therefore I will try to fill this annoying gap. So, here is the second season of an anime dedicated to the wonderful Japanese theater arts entitled rakugo. Its greatest strength is how naturally it demonstrates everyday life, romance And drama, as well as how harmoniously they are woven into the storyline with reference structure. This is a magnificent title, from viewing which you get a lot of aesthetic pleasure. But I want to warn you - first of all Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is intended for an adult audience, that is, for viewers who know how to see and appreciate the problems and underlying meaning in anime.

With your permission, I will not describe in detail the next continuation of the culinary epic about the young chef Soma, since it turned out at the level of previous seasons. Events continue to gain momentum, Soma gains more and more experience and approaches the top of Totsuki Academy. All this is accompanied culinary fights, audacity and heroic overcoming of obstacles - in best traditions title. If you liked the first seasons, then you should definitely watch this one.

I don’t put this title in a higher position, since Kakegurui ends not nearly as powerfully as it begins. Yes, and gambling sooner or later begins to get boring.

A surprisingly enjoyable romantic comedy, the meaning of which follows from the title. Tsurezure Children is dedicated to the most difficult and vibrant time in the life of schoolchildren - the time when they experience their first loves, which take on many unique and varied forms and manifestations. Diverse characters, unobtrusive plot and funny humor – all this makes Tsurezure Children an excellent candidate for watching after a hard day at work. And he does an excellent job of evoking feelings of nostalgia.

Add to this a few unexpected plot twists, beautiful panache and a well-developed tactical component - and you will get the strangest title of this year. Which, however, does not make it any worse.

Oh, I can just feel the fans’ stones flying at me Mahoutsukai no Yome, which already, based on the results of broadcasting half of the series, have declared this title to be almost a masterpiece. I am not yet ready to give him such loud advances, since he is definitely not without a number of serious shortcomings. So, Mahoutsukai no Yome will tell you the story of an unfortunate girl, offended by life, who, as a result of a combination of circumstances, ends up in the house of an ancient magician who decided to take her as his student. From strengths Mahoutsukai no Yome I'll highlight main character, competent development storyline, as well as high-quality visual and musical components. On the other hand, I was not at all satisfied with the romantic part, main character, as well as the elaboration and depth of individual episodes. Which, however, does not interfere Mahoutsukai no Yome to be a curious anime that deserves the attention of connoisseurs of the genre.

The most underrated title of 2017, which, even with very good ratings, was overshadowed by a series of larger releases. Houseki no Kuni- This original story about how, in a post-apocalyptic world, immortal gem girls wage an endless struggle with strange creatures coming from the Moon. What's special about this, you ask? Yes, that, along with an intriguing plot, excellent musical accompaniment and competent character development, in Houseki no Kuni you will see perhaps the best computer graphics, that I have ever seen in anime. This is exactly the case when CGI can be looked at without holy water.

Who would have thought that a story about two girls driving around in a small car through a destroyed world could be so fascinating? With all my external simplicity, V Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou contains an amazing volume of everyday philosophy, reflection on which can bring unprecedented aesthetic pleasure. This is also one of the few titles that are best watched slowly, thoughtfully and gradually - this is the only way to get the maximum emotions from it. If you are one of those people who knows how to appreciate the meaning put into anime, hidden behind the wrapper of simple dialogues, then Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou Absolutely not worth skipping.

Tsuki ga Kirei is another title that has been unfairly neglected by the public. This is understandable - few people today can be attracted by the combination of the genres “school”, “romance”, “everyday life”, because it is thanks to them that faded mediocrity is born on an industrial scale, intended for the most unpretentious viewers. However, Tsuki ga Kirei revived the romance genre in my eyes. Main value The title lies in its characters, who turned out to be heroes with whom you want to empathize. The protagonists, moreover, are schoolchildren who do not commit stupidity and are not the source of all their problems, and at the same time look natural - this is in modern world rarity. In addition, Tsuki ga Kirei offers the viewer to enjoy a pleasant plot, great music and excellent art. The only downside of the title is the computer animation, but after a couple of minutes of watching you stop paying attention to it. So I highly recommend giving Tsuki ga Kirei a chance.

There was no question about the best anime of the year for me. Made in Abyss is the first anime series in several recent years, to which I without a doubt gave the highest rating. It has literally everything that a viewer yearning for quality fantasy could want. A story of two children that begins as good fairy tale, but ends like a dark thriller. Gorgeous drama, making the long-rusted strings of the soul creak. Unobtrusive comedy, from series to series causing smiles. A stunning universe with incomparable atmosphere, from which it is impossible to tear yourself away. Saturated plot, in which there is not a single weak point. Nice heroes with whom you want to empathize. I haven’t received such pleasure from anything for a long time - it was an evening and a sleepless night spent watching it, and overflowing emotions. For this title alone, I’m ready to forgive 2017 for the lack of an abundance of powerful premieres. Made in AbyssRequired viewing for everyone without exception.

Conclusion

To begin with, I want to say that there are a couple more worthy titles that could probably get into this top, but, alas, I didn’t have the strength to watch. This one came out in the summer Ballroom and Youkoso about ballroom dancing, also released in winter Little Witch Academy about witches. Well, a continuation Kekkai Sensen, the first season of which I didn't like.

But even in such a weak year in terms of anime, there was still something to see.
