The circle of light is already a tradition for me! It opens Moscow in a new light for the seventh year in a row, since 2011. I haven't missed a single event since 2013.

This is already the fifth autumn that I’m looking forward and even excitedly waiting for posters on the streets and advertising on TV - which venues will participate this year.

Moscow International Festival Circle of Light- an annual event in which lighting designers and professionals in the field of 2D and 3D graphics use the architectural space of Moscow as an object for multimedia and lighting installations.

IN 2013 This year we went to the Circle of Light for the first time and got to two sites in one day:

on Theater Square “came to life” in the most beautiful short stories Grand Theatre, and on Manezhnaya Square building Manege covered with fancy arthouse objects and patterns to the music. There wasn’t much of a plot, I liked Manege less then, but the performance at the Bolshoi Theater stuck in my soul! People, and me too, stood with their mouths open in admiration!

IN 2014 year, remembering last year’s beauty, I went again to the Bolshoi Theater. Unfortunately, many stories were repeated from last year, but there were also new ones. The performance, as in 2013, lasted about 45 minutes, and after a short pause it was repeated again. Thus, people who came to different time, could see everything in a circle from beginning to end.

IN 2015 The Ostankino Tower and VDNKh joined the Circle of Light. Since the festival covers the weekend twice, we managed to go to the Rowing Canal, where we absolutely did not like it... From the free seats it was very difficult to see anything, and only those who sat in special stands, the entrance to which could in all years by invitation only.

They left Krylatskoe without checking it out.

The next, final weekend, we went, according to tradition, to the Bolshoi Theater and to VDNKh - we were also not as delighted as in the first year. Several pavilions were involved in the performance, and the fountains were illuminated.

Didn't like the absence interesting stories, again some kind of arthouse, “cinema is not for everyone.”

But the festival 2016 year lived up to all conceivable and unimaginable expectations!!! This was my personal record for admiration!!! For the first time, the main site of the Circle of Light became the Main Building of Moscow State University!

The location for this event is simply ideal: a huge façade area, enormous height, the building can be seen for many hundreds of meters almost to the Observatory on Kosygin, and - most importantly - there is such a huge University Square in front of Moscow State University that there was not even a hint of a crush. We stood at a considerable distance, which was also a plus - as they say, beauty is seen from afar. There were, of course, a lot of people around us, but no one was pushing, and if we wanted, another 10 people could have stood next to us.

Then a cartoon about a wolf-traveler, voiced by Okhlobystin, was projected onto the façade.

BUT the main thing is not this at all... The main thing is the final FIREWORKS!

Breathtakingly beautiful fireworks display! Guys, seriously, I’ve seen them a lot, but this was the most beautiful one in my entire life! And absolutely free! MSU stood in this cloud of sparkling volleys, like a real Disney castle!!! A stunning sight and indescribable emotions!

Last weekend, September 23rd, Circle of Light 2017 opened again! We went to the Ostankino Tower for the opening ceremony, since we had not seen the performance at this site yet.

We made no mistake. As with Moscow State University, due to the height of the tower, the performance can be seen from afar.

Those who watched the show for free were able to enjoy both the light show (the Ostankino Tower turned into all the most famous high-rise buildings in the world - the Eiffel Tower, Burj Khalifa, Toronto skyscrapers) and a very long fireworks display, my neck hurt because my head was thrown back for so long )) A million lights!

The whole sky is covered in diamonds!

When you look at this beauty, emotions overwhelm you like a child, and you don’t have time to find the right words! FABULOUS! GREAT! FABULOUS!!! Well done!!!

It seems to me (I speak for myself) that after such a spectacle your soul becomes warm, this childish pure delight gives birth to sparks of kindness in you. I want to notice only the beautiful around me and be happy about it bright days. And a pleasant feeling of national unity arises, when everyone nearby smiles, claps, rejoices... Moves me to tears! Even now, as I write these lines!

Of course, without cons This event is not complete, for me the two most important ones are:

1) huge crowds of people at each participating site. Like in the center on City Day. But again, not everywhere and not always: on the main site of 2016 - near the Moscow State University building - it was crowded and not-for-you-e-mo!

2) it is difficult to get invitations to the stands, from which the most stunning view opens and you can fully appreciate the entire performance.

But, you know, if you want, you can find minuses in everything, but trying to see only the pluses and rejoice with all your heart, as in childhood, is much more difficult.

This the festival gives free emotions that you remember for years later. I’m still looking through the photos of the fireworks at Moscow State University. I won’t take off even half, even a quarter, or even a tenth of a star for these minuses!

I was born in Moscow, for the last two years I have been living in Dolgoprudny, which, thank God, is only 5 km from the Moscow Ring Road, and I consider it great happiness that such an incredible fairy tale festival is held in our city free of charge and every year!
