Good afternoon, my dear readers! Cozy, warm, bright and incredibly stylish. Do you know what I mean? You guessed it - it's a women's plaid shirt. The thing is so self-sufficient that sometimes even I was lost, but what should I wear it with? Nothing came to mind other than simple casual looks, and it turned out that I wore it exclusively for a walk with friends. No, I decided, it won’t work that way! And I began to study this issue - I looked through many websites and fashion magazines, read a lot of information. It turned out not in vain! I came up with 5 images for any occasion. Each of them is incredibly stylish. And today I will tell and show how to wear a checkered shirt for a girl so that others will cast admiring glances at you.

My search

To begin with, I removed all restrictions in my mind on any combination of prints and textures. After all, this is how truly fashionable and original images are born. Here I present to you 14 ideas that you can use to create your own unique bow. I was also guided by them.

1. A simple casual look with black jeans and a T-shirt can easily be taken to the next level. Just tie a red checkered shirt or any other shirt that matches your sandals around your waist. It will turn out very daringly and casually - a kind of “off-the-cuff” look.
2. Flannel will protect you from the spring chill long oversized shirt worn with dark skinnies. A bright coat that matches your shirt will help you insulate even more.
3. If you're planning a bar party with colleagues, simply tuck a checkered flannel shirt into a discreet midi-length leather skirt. A boho bib necklace, lots of bracelets and a colorful handbag complete the look.
4. Brunch with friends is about being relaxed - army green (or khaki) skinnies and a plaid top are all you need. A plain faux fur coat will perfectly complement the look.
5. A knitted sweater over a shirt is a great option for walking around a spring park! Stick to neutral shades so as not to shock others. If the sweater has a pattern, but it should not be flashy or the same size as the checkered pattern.
6. A checkered blue fleece shirt tucked into tapered trousers with a monochrome print will look perfect in the office. A wide-brimmed hat and pumps will add elegance to the look.
7. A puffy sleeveless vest worn over a flannel shirt is the perfect look for girls who love a sporty style.
8. And this idea is suitable only for brave girls, as it combines two contradictory trends. Slip dress with brutal ankle boots and a black tie at the waist -red shirt – bold and cool!
9. The check perfectly sets off the smoothness of leather items. Wear a bright shirt with a leather miniskirt and ankle boots.
10. Another look for the office is culottes and a gingham top. Pumps and a scarf tied around the neck are great accessories for this look.
11. Simple doesn't mean boring! Wear a shirt from the tabernacle and add some extra chic to your look with leopard print ballet flats.
12. For romantic girls, a combination of a plaid shirt in pale colors and a white one is suitable. lace skirt ankle length.
13. Cage with cage? Easily! Combine the shirt with a jacket or scarf of the same color. Be careful not to overload the image! Let everything else be neutral colors. For example, the image is led by a large cage of a bright set, and the rest of the wardrobe is worn in black.
14. A great work option is a classic-cut checkered flannel shirt tucked into a pencil skirt. Complete the look with pumps or high heels.

Here is some material for you to think about and experiment with – use it for your health. And look what happened to me, taking into account my short stature.

A small digression: it’s difficult for petite girls to find something in the right size. What I do is go to stores that have their own children's line and choose from those collections. So, for example, at ZARA a cute flannelette shirt for a 12-year-old girl was suitable for my height.

5 bows for miniatures and more

• With midi skirt

Who said midi length is not for us? This is not true, look at my first bow. It's perfect for a work environment, and yet won't turn you into a shapeless lump of clothes. Be sure to add heels to make you look taller and add elegance to your look. It's cold now, so I'm wearing boots. By the way, to look taller with a midi skirt, it’s better to tuck in your shirt. Well, or if you really want to wear it to graduation, then be sure to roll up your sleeves and emphasize your waist with a belt.

• Like a cardigan

What to wear with a long flannel plaid shirt? It's simple! Wear it over your favorite summer dress. Of course, you shouldn’t overload your look with prints. For example, I chose small black chiffon dress and the same shirt. Black tight tights, over the knee boots, a cap and a catchy decoration complete the look without distracting from the leading detail - a checkered shirt. • With flared jeans

Let's go back to the 70s - a bright checkered shirt with flared jeans, the best that hippie fashion can give. For petite ones, flares should go from the knee. Plus, wear high heels or platform boots that will hide the flared legs. This way you can elongate your silhouette and your legs will look longer.

• With leather leggings

A trendy bow that can be adapted to suit all occasions if desired. A bright long plaid shirt that reaches mid-thigh and is belted is perfect for walking with friends or relaxed shopping.

• With leather mini

A look that is simply ideal for walking with friends, shopping, and with certain accessories, also relevant for a party. The combination of such seemingly incompatible textures adds style and audacity to the image. In addition, a miniskirt will expose your legs and allow you to elongate your silhouette. However, a shirt makes this look more relaxed than, for example, pairing a leather mini with a top. By the way, put on short skirt, then fasten the buttons on your shirt. And I already wrote about that in a previous article.

One more thing I want to tell you about. This is how to choose the right shirt.

1. Take a size up. You can always fit it in if necessary with a belt. Otherwise, there will be significantly fewer images that can be created with it.
2. If you are thin, then choose a fabric that holds its shape well. But if you have volumes that you want to emphasize, then it is better to give preference to soft fabric. This way the buttons will not diverge on the chest.
3. If you want to remove a couple extra pounds or add a couple of centimeters to your height, I advise you to roll up the sleeves so that they become ¾

That's it, girls, that's it! Look at the bows, get inspired and create your own. Don't be afraid to experiment, only you can achieve harmony in your bow.
