Reima average degree of insulation at what temperature. Reima symbols

July 10, 2015

Behind Lately Reima clothing has become so technologically advanced and innovative that it is not so easy to understand all the innovations right away.

For greater convenience for parents when choosing a particular item of their baby’s wardrobe, each item has symbols its properties.

Each child is unique, which means that each one has a special heat exchange and shape, metabolism and mobility. When choosing outerwear, you mainly need to focus on the need for insulation of a particular child. Therefore, the Reima company, unlike other manufacturers, fundamentally does not indicate the temperature regime on clothing. However, for the convenience of parents, Reima introduces conventional symbols to indicate the warmth properties of the outer layer of clothing.

· The absence of snowflakes means that these clothes has no insulation. These items are designed to be worn in late spring or early autumn.

· Cloth with one snowflake has a layer of synthetic insulation up to 100 grams. This clothing is suitable for cooler off-seasons.

· Two snowflakes refers to clothing in which a layer of synthetic insulation weighs up to 180 grams. This clothing constitutes the broadest category and is worn at temperatures ranging from 0 to -20°C.

· Three snowflakes they say that the insulation consists of artificial down or a natural down-feather mixture. Clothing with three snowflakes is designed for the most very coldy up to -30°C.

All temperature values are approximate, and parents should primarily focus on the needs of their child.

The specified temperature conditions work correctly only if the principle of multi-layering is observed.

Waterproof

Reim membrane fabrics are characterized by water resistance. The number of drops indicates the level of protection of clothing from moisture and helps determine what weather and what games a particular clothing is suitable for.

    · One drop indicates that the child will not get wet in light rain.

    · Two drops means clothing suitable for walking when it is snowing or raining outside.

    · Three drops on the labels of those clothes in which a child can sit in the snow or fall into a puddle and not get wet. For long games fresh air such things are the best choice.

    · Four drops – on clothes in which you can engage in winter sports.

Taped seams

To prevent moisture from getting under the product not only through the surface of the fabric, but also through the places where it is sewn, Reima made taped seams on the clothes. Pay attention to Reim's clothing series and symbols. Reimatec® series products are proud of each and every seam that is taped, which completely eliminates the possibility of leakage. And Reima® clothing, more suitable for city walks, has taped main seams. Clothing in both series perfectly repels water and dirt.

Dirt-repellent properties

The processing features of the fabric from which Reim's clothes are made create dirt-repellent properties. You can find out about this from the special symbol on the label. Thanks to this quality, dirt is not absorbed by the fibers, but either flows down or simply hardens on the surface, from where it can be easily wiped off with a damp sponge or cloth. An obvious plus: clothes made from stain-resistant materials do not need to be washed often. In addition, after intensive washing, the dirt-repellent properties may decrease.

Windproof

Products made from moisture- and dirt-repellent material have another useful quality - wind resistance. Clothing with a special designation is perfect for walking in the cold, windy season.

Happy Fit

To correctly determine and select the shoe size for a child, Reim's boots have a Happyfit pattern printed on the insole. You just need to take out the insole and place your child's foot on it. Please note that when correct selection The size needs to be increased based on the height of the leg and the ability to move the foot freely inside the shoe, which is important for the healthy development of the legs. Reima recommends taking shoes with a 1.5 cm margin.

Super durable material

The strength and wear resistance of fabrics is determined at Reim factories using a special Martindale test. It is done using sandpaper, which is used to rub the test sample in a circular motion until two broken threads appear on the fabric. After this, the fabric is assigned one of two strength classes. Heavy-duty material on some products reinforces those areas that most often suffer from abrasion: these are the areas on the elbows and knees. And in some sets and overalls, the trouser part is entirely made of heavy-duty material.

Windproof ear pads

Children's hats and helmets have special protective inserts in the ear area, thanks to which the ears will not be blown out by sharp and cold wind. Due to this, Reim's hats are suitable for walking even when it is frosty and windy outside. You can find out about the presence of windproof inserts by seeing a special designation on the label.

Transformer

What if one thing can, at the request of the little owner, turn into something completely different? Some Reim products, marked with a special symbol on the label, do not have inside, and you can wear them inside out and enjoy a new pattern or color.

Do you see the silhouette of a man in the symbols on the label? It means that on the reverse side of the product there are special buttons with which you can attach an intermediate layer using the Reima Play Layers® system to the top layer of clothing.

Reima always takes care of the child’s comfort and, in particular, that the skin does not rot under the fabric and that the sweat that appears quickly evaporates. For this purpose, only special materials who have passed a special test. The Gore test is used to check the air conductivity of materials. Through the fibers of the fabric certain conditions and for certain time The moisture evaporates, after which the evaporated amount of water is measured. When making clothes, only those materials that have good performance in this test are used.

Wool

Some of Reim's items are made from natural merino sheep wool or created from wool-containing material. Such clothes are warm and breathable, and at the same time they are soft and will not prick.

To help parents navigate, Reima introduced symbols - snowflakes. They indicate the heat level of the top layer.

The temperature is indicated approximately - it is necessary, first of all, to focus on the baby’s sensations. The temperature regime works if the multi-layer rule is followed.

Waterproof

Waterproof - important characteristic Reima membrane fabrics. Droplets (from four to one) indicate different degrees of protection of the membrane from moisture and dirt - for each product.

All seams are taped

Seams in products made from a membrane that is highly waterproof must be taped to prevent moisture from getting into the product through the places where the fabric is sewn. In Reim's children's clothing, all or major seams are taped.

Dirt protection

Wind protection

Super durable material

To check the quality of materials for sewing children's clothing, Reima conducts testing. The Martindale test tests the wear resistance of a fabric. The fixed sample is being tested sandpaper. Using a special mechanism, it rubs the fabric in a circular motion. Tests are carried out until two torn threads appear. Then the fabric is assigned one of two types of strength.

Air conductivity

All Reima clothing conducts air well so that the child's skin does not rot under the fabric. Reima uses the Gore method when testing the breathability of clothing. Water evaporates through a tissue sample over a certain amount of time and under certain conditions. After this, it is collected in a container and measured. Only after high-tech testing can the material be used for the production of Reima clothing.

Playing in layers

How to dress a child so that he is warm without sweating? The key rule is to dress in layers. Various materials work well in layers, and the air between those layers provides warmth. The base layer allows the skin to breathe, the intermediate layer retains heat, and the top layer provides protection from wind and cold.

Using layers also helps save money: one layer of clothing can be used for almost all year round- the main thing is that the size fits! By adding or subtracting layers, clothing can be adapted to changing weather conditions, and different base and mid-layers provide nice variety.

1. BASE LAYER - provides baby comfort by wicking moisture away from the skin

Modern functional underwear is also available for children. This clothing is suitable for sports, active games and outdoor entertainment. Clothing made from synthetic and mixed fabrics wicks moisture away from the skin and transfers it to other layers. This way, children will be comfortable even if they get hot during active play.

This jumpsuit was our very first Reima and our favorite snowsuit. The child wore it throughout the 2013-2014 season: autumn, winter, spring and simply did not recognize other clothes. He dressed very fast-baby You just lay down in it and you can immediately fasten it with two zippers. REIMATEC ® chose the overalls from the fall-winter 2013-14 collection long and carefully. For an active yearling, this turned out to be an ideal option, but not without its drawbacks...

My requirements for a jumpsuit:

U I am a very active and mobile baby, the year and the beginning of independent walking should have fallen in October-November, so I was concerned about finding a suitable outerwear.

Ideal outerwear IMHO should be:

  • easy
  • warm
  • not fat
  • does not hinder movement, does not interfere with taking the first steps,
  • moisture and dirt resistant
  • Quite durable, although for the baby this factor was in last place

As a result, I found this miracle in a Swedish online store [link]

Of all the overalls with synthetic filling, this overall in the line has the warmest filling of 180 grams. Typically, Reim's overalls are insulated with no more than 160 grams of insulation.

Characteristics:

Stylish, warm children's winter overalls blue color. This double-zip front jumpsuit is made from breathable fabric and is easy to put on and take off. Given Finnish rompers equipped with an insulated seat. The hood is detachable. All seams are taped. Reima overalls are known for their wear resistance and durability. The Reima overalls are equipped with: insulated seat, front pocket with zipper, reflective details waterproof level: 10,000 mm

Compound:Top cover: 100% polyester Membrane: 100% polyurethane

P lining: 100% Polyester

Insulation: 180 g, 100% polyester.

Brand Country: Finland, made in China

Criterias of choice:

Why Reima?

Yes, because it is the first brand that comes to mind that actually meets our requirements. Although I think that this is not the most best clothes, there are brands that are cooler, more comfortable and more wearable.

Why REIMATEC ®?

Because it has a breathable membrane with increased moisture resistance and increased wear resistance of the fabric. The membrane removes moisture if the baby sweats, while maintaining air exchange, i.e. not created Greenhouse effect inside the suit.

If only there was Reima Tech Plus– for extreme street adventures - I would buy it, but for now

I haven't seen it anywhere.

For comparison, a table with technical characteristics three lines of materials:

Why we liked this model

Model design:

1) model with two zippers, - super convenient thing for a one year old:

It is very convenient to dress and undress a child, it turns out quickly and the child does not have time to get fried when getting ready for a walk.

2) the height of the hood can be adjusted using Velcro

3) The model also has a high collar, which fits tightly to the neck and protects it well from cold and wind, we went for a walk until 0C without a scarf, the baby was comfortable.

4) Insulation 180 g, insulated butt, although I didn’t notice any difference to the touch between this zone and others.

U the overalls have no fasteners for attaching Reim's hooks, i.e. It's not part of the Play Layers system, but that doesn't mean it can't be worn with these underwear. It is possible, but without fixing it. Personally, I didn’t really like this system; it’s not very convenient to connect to.

Overalls in life

We attributed it to the season, about 7 months: it was very comfortable for a child starting to walk - the internal quilting makes the overalls quite compact in thickness and does not hinder movement.

The jumpsuit is NOT wide like the old Reima models, it is fitted at the back and has a more or less adjacent shape. It looks beautiful.

It took us two days to get used to the overalls, and a month later the baby was already running around in it like a torpedo, and on his own. Those. This overalls did not interfere with our learning to walk; our legs did not get tangled in it and our trouser legs did not get caught. The baby did not feel any fear from an accidental fall when falling in it.

Temperature

U The 180 gr warmer is designed for temperatures down to minus 20C (with a cover), but in my opinion it’s optimal up to minus 5. For babies up to 1.5-2 years old, you then need to add layers of clothing or switch to other warmer overalls. The manufacturer warns that the sensation of warmth and heat conservation are quite individual and here you need to focus on the child.

insulation two snowflakes! not the warmest option...the warmest is the Reimov down jacket - three snowflakes!

  • We wore a jumpsuit starting from a temperature of +8C and a strong wind b without a hook
  • From +5 to minus 5C we easily managed with a fleece underwear

With I read that at this temperature you need to wear fleece to keep warm. I noticed that without fleece we began to freeze, especially if the baby had to sit in a stroller: the nose and hands became cold. With active walking, the baby warmed up, but that was until the next time he got into the stroller. Therefore, I believe that wearing or at least 2 layers of clothing is mandatory even at temperatures from +5 to about zero degrees. So what a minus 20C there!! – You shouldn’t experiment on kids.

  • WITH minus 5C to minus 20C I added a sweater made of pure wool under the fleece overalls And. At minus 20, we also walked - the child walked a lot for an entire hour. They always came home warm - arms, legs, neck were all warm, even hot! And sometimes I walked without even putting on gloves.

The membrane really works And removes moisture out.

One day we went into the store, running around, and I unbuttoned the baby’s overalls; I felt that the fleece was almost wet—there was almost steam coming off the child. Well, I think they got there! - I was sweating like a mouse, and we still had to go home... And when I came home and undressed the baby, I was convinced that the baby was absolutely dry - back, neck, cotton bodysuit - everything was in in perfect order, nothing sweated.

The fabric is truly water repellent - we walked repeatedly in the rain and downpour, and where my usual raincoat jacket got wet through and through, the fabric on the overalls repelled water and was not absorbed.

In general, water pressure of 5000-15000 mm is calmly designed for walking in heavy rain, but whatever! You can sit in a puddle or snowdrift for some time (that’s what natural scientists say, but we haven’t tried it yet), because... a water column pressure of 5000 mm allows fabrics to withstand loads such as, for example, the pressure of a human weight without getting wet. For comparison, light rain creates a pressure of about 2000 mm, and heavy rain creates a pressure of about 4000 mm.

The fabric is easy to clean, BUT only from minor dirt ,

but then we fell into the dirty slurry and it was not so easy to clean the mud. Washable without conditioner, so as not to deprive the membrane of thermal conductivity, it is better to wash it with special products for the membrane, sold in sports stores.

About Reimatec wear resistance

In my opinion, with all the loud claims about the strength of the fabric, it wears out, even from Reymatek, quite quickly.

Moreover, not so much from rolling on the butt and crawling on the knees, but from natural friction along the seams when moving. Particularly affected are the areas where the seams are taped; cracks even form there, worn almost to holes.

The baby was small and the one-year-old did not ride on my slides, he was afraid. But one time we slid down an icy slide and our butt got very raw. I repeat, after one try the fabric simply ripped open and began to form rough hooks.

Personally, I'm not very happy with the durability.

About dimension :

Our overalls are 80 cm, we started wearing them at 11 months with a height of 78 cm.

Sh Ag seam -27cm

Center back length from collar to groin -52cm

Reim's size is designed for children from 80 cm with a margin of about 6 cm so that the overalls can last a whole season. For babies starting to walk, I don’t think it’s worth buying a size larger for future use; it won’t be convenient for them to learn to take independent steps.

Eventually,

I would like to emphasize that the overalls are reliable,

protects from wind and rain,

removes excess heat

but not the most durable in terms of fabric abrasion.

Like all membrane things, it is intended for active and active children!

Activity is an indispensable condition for wearing this overall in sub-zero temperatures, the company itself speaks and writes about this everywhere and proves it real life! For babies who spend more time in a stroller, it is better to look for something warmer, for example, a down jacket or KERRY, which has a thicker and warmer filling.

Now this model with two zippers can still be bought from gray dealers and private traders, I saw it on Avito new model dark blue...

I bought it for 80 euros a year ago at babyshop.com, the cost in rubles was about 3500 rubles...

What we wear this jumpsuit with:

Reyma Tek is a membrane, and that says it all: it does not get wet, does not blow, and removes moisture. Can be worn down to -25. If you put fleece on it, it's warm in cold weather. If the principle of multi-layering is observed (the base layer is thermal underwear, the intermediate layer is fleece overalls or a jacket, and then Reimatec outerwear), a temperature regime is provided for the child to walk at temperatures down to minus 30 degrees. Reymatek mittens are available with an antibacterial X-Static™ lining, which prevents the formation of odor due to moisture on the palms.

Top Cordura, Reimatec - high-strength polyamides. Insulation: polyester, 140 g. Lots of reflective details.

Models with “arctic” Thinsulate™ insulation (150 g) are overalls for the youngest and jackets/coats for older children (4-12 years old).

Temperature regime: subject to the principle of multi-layering - up to -25 0 C.

Within the ReimaTEC series there is also a line Reima Tec+. Designed for even more active activities, it is distinguished by increased durability of the bottom of overalls or trousers, which are made of very durable Duraplus material.

Ski suit REIMA Tec X, Recco system

Reima TEC-X- sports ski clothing.

Excellent winter overalls for the most active recreation and outdoor sports - light, warm, water- and windproof, but at the same time, “breathable” and beautiful. For children from 2 to 10 years old. The lower part is made of especially durable fabric and has no seams at all.

For everyday active walks and outdoor sports at temperatures from +5 0 C to minus 20 0 C.

The details are exceptionally precisely laser-cut, waterproof zippers, and ultrasonic-treated seams.

Reima Play– this is a good Reima for everyone, intended for active winter recreation. Clothing in this category is created on the basis of membrane fabric Reimatec, you can let your child play in the snow without fear that he will get wet or freeze. Acceptable temperature indicators: when walking, when the child is inactive (for example, lying in a stroller) - from minus 10 to plus 10 degrees; during an active walk - from 0 to minus 25 degrees. In Reima Play, the child will not get wet even in the rain. Examples of sets include models for the winter 2015-2016 season Reima Koru and Reima Scenic.

The membrane is the thinnest polyamide film, rolled on the wrong side of the upper fabric. It has many micropores that do not allow moisture to pass through from the outside and remove it from the inside. Advantages of membrane clothing: it breathes, removes excess moisture (sweat) from the body to the outside and protects from wind and dampness.

Reima - Reima Casual

Reima Kiddo Poppoo

Reima - aka Reima Casual(Reima casual) - regular winter clothes from Reim. Reima Casual is not a membrane. It is usually worn up to -15, and after minus 5 it is advisable to add a hem. These clothes, unlike Tek, get wet. This is noticeable in the gloves and mittens: it’s just that Reima is wet after actively making snowballs, but Tek mittens keep your hands dry. Casual overalls have an insulated bottom, so that the child will not freeze if he sits on a cold swing in the fall and winter.

Polyester insulation (150 g jacket, 100 g trousers), high water resistance (jacket: from 3000 mm, trousers: from 8000 mm), polyurethane impregnation, taped seams.

The clothing is not membrane and does not require special layers. Interesting design, sports-urban. For walks, sports, relaxation.

Reima Urban. Reima Urban is urban clothing for going to school and traveling on public transport. Reima Urban sets are elegant, modern and fashionable, quite light. Reima Kiddo is more waterproof and durable than Casual. Good durable technical fabric. Kiddo's pants are made of a different material - Light Protech. Reima clothes are quite expensive, but, as parents have long admitted different countries, she's worth it. Moreover, real Reima can be bought inexpensively - at the end of the seasons, many stores have sales of Reima clothing and shoes. So where to buy? Look in stores:

Reima® symbols

The symbols will help you understand what specific characteristics and features the clothing of a particular series of Reim clothing has.

Snowflakes: Warmth Level of Reim's Clothes

Snowflakes:

Each child is individual, each has its own heat exchange and physique. That is why, when choosing clothes for a child, it is necessary to pay attention to his characteristics. Many manufacturers indicate the normal temperature range on their clothing. We don’t do this on purpose, because all children are unique. But in order to help parents navigate, we have introduced symbols - snowflakes. They indicate the heat level of the top layer.

If there are no snowflakes on the label, this is clothing for the off-season, without a warm lining. It is designed for spring and early autumn.

  • 1 snowflake means synthetic insulation weighing up to 100 grams. This is warm and light clothing for the cool off-season.
  • 2 snowflakes report synthetic insulation weighing up to 180 grams. This is our largest category, designed for temperatures from 0 to -20°C.
  • 3 snowflakes mean that the insulation contains artificial down or natural down and feathers, which is designed for the coldest weather - down to -30°C.

The temperature is indicated approximately - it is necessary, first of all, to focus on the baby’s sensations. The temperature regime works if the multi-layer rule is followed. Your child will never get cold if he is dressed correctly!

Waterproof

Water resistance is an important characteristic of Reima membrane fabrics. Droplets (from four to one) indicate different degrees of protection of the membrane from moisture and dirt - for each product.

Drops:

  • 1 drop on the label means the garment can withstand light rain.
  • 2 drops - such clothes are suitable for playing in rain and snow.
  • 3 drops - and the child can calmly sit in the snow or in a puddle without fear of getting wet. Ideal for sports and long active games in the yard!
  • 4 drops are clothes for children who engage in winter sports.

All seams are taped

Pay attention to the Reima symbols, you can understand a lot from them!

At the jacket Reimatec Savu All seams are taped. It's very convenient winter jacket for babies from special certified Bluesign fabric.

And the jacket Reima Grus The main seams are taped. The fabric repels dirt and water, making the jacket suitable for outdoor play.

Both items have a removable hood, two zipped pockets and reflective details.

Repels dirt

One of the most remarkable advantages of Reim's clothing is its dirt-repellent properties, which is indicated by a special icon on the label. If you purchased overalls or a jacket made of material that repels dirt, you do not need to wash the item often. After a walk, just wipe it with a cloth.

Dirt does not penetrate deeply into the fabric, which is specially protected. And intensive washing can reduce this effect! So there is no need to wash Reim’s clothes unnecessarily: simply wiping them is enough. You can wash it at the end of the season, or if the child falls into real big mud.

Windproof

At the jumpsuit Chertan- windproof material, which is indicated by a special icon. This fabric also repels water and dirt. The main seams of the overalls are taped, the seat is insulated, the hood is removable, and the removable elastic straps are easy to use.

Comfort during outdoor games and easy care are guaranteed!

Happy fit

This designation refers to Reim's shoes.

Drawing Happy Fit on Reima shoes makes it easy to identify right size shoes Simply remove the insole and place your child's foot on it.

In addition to room for leg growth, well-fitted shoes provide enough space for free movement and proper development of the foot.

Super durable material

To check the quality of materials for sewing children's clothing, Reima conducts testing. The Martindale test tests the wear resistance of a fabric. The fixed sample is tested with sandpaper. Using a special mechanism, it rubs the fabric in a circular motion. Tests are carried out until two torn threads appear. Then the fabric is assigned one of two types of strength.

We use heavy-duty material in some products - jackets and trousers - to strengthen your knees and elbows. A in some overalls and sets - the entire trouser part consists of such heavy-duty material.

Windproof ear inserts in Reim hats

Funny hat Electra with fleece lining - very warm, but not too thick. It has windproof inserts in the ear area, as indicated special character- remember it to better understand Reima products!

With such inserts, even light hats protect the child very well in bad weather.

Show your child small miracle: convertible jacket Tegmen When turned inside out, it turns from plain to striped! This property is denoted special arrow symbol.

Windproof and at the same time breathable material will create ideal comfort for the child. Water and dirt are not a problem, the hood is removable, and there is an elastic piping on the cuffs, hem and hood.

Play Layers

Playing with Reim's layers.

In this winter jacket, like on many Reima things, there is such a symbol - a silhouette of a person. It means that the product is equipped with special buttons for attaching the intermediate layer to outerwear according to the system Reima Play Layers®. This is very convenient: a relatively light jacket can be insulated with a fleece jacket (which can be worn separately), and you will immediately have both a light and warm jacket.

Air conductivity

All of Reim's clothes conduct air well so that the child's skin does not rot under the fabric. When testing the breathability of clothing, Reima uses Gore method. Water evaporates through a tissue sample over a certain amount of time and under certain conditions. After this, it is collected in a container and measured. Only after high-tech testing can the material be used for the production of Reima clothing.

Wool

Wool overalls Reykjavik(Reykjavik) - warm and breathable. It can be worn at home or as a mid-layer in winter. Reykjavik jumpsuit tailored especially for newborns, it has comfortable cuffs and a full-length zipper.

Modern French terry material contains natural wool, which is indicated by a special symbol. For those parents who prefer to choose natural materials for their child.

Good luck with your choice and have fun walking in any weather!

Reima Tec is one of the popular clothing series of the Finnish brand Reima. home distinguishing feature- widespread use of membrane material Reima Tek - polyamide, treated on the reverse side with polyurethane with micropores. The difference lies in increased wear resistance, moisture resistance and windproofness. Such clothing is suitable for “active” use and sports. As for thermal properties, here you need to look at the temperature regime (one, two, three stars), and not at the type of fabric (Reima tec).

Distinctive features of the Reima Tech material

  • high strength;
  • excellent water resistance (at least WP 10000);
  • good dirt-repellent properties;
  • effective air exchange (at least 5000 g/m2/24);
  • allows evaporation to escape well.

Characteristics of the Reima Reimatec clothing series:

  1. Water resistance WP 5000 - 8000 (less than the material itself due to the “zippers”).
  2. Wear resistance >30 thousand. cycles.
  3. Excellent wind resistance.
  4. Air exchange rate 5000 g/m2/24.
  5. Has all taped seams.
  6. The pants and legs of the overalls have no internal seams, which increases their wearing comfort and durability.
  7. Has detachable straps and a hood.
  8. The mittens are available with an antibacterial X-Static™ lining that prevents odor from moisture on the palms.
