Eternity. In search of the final theory of time

This cheerful and creepy holiday, thanks to its mysterious atmosphere, has managed to fall in love with both adults and children. If you have managed to retain childlike spontaneity and a love of adventure in your soul, Halloween is exactly the holiday that simply needs to be included in your list of family traditions. Coming to us from afar, he will introduce you and your children to holiday culture other countries, and joint preparation for it will give many pleasant moments of creativity and communication.

Children's Halloween Party: Fun Trouble

How to decorate your house for Halloween? There are many options! And if you consider that all children are initially talented - interesting solutions there will be no end.

Here are a few ideas to consider:

1. Decorate the walls and doors with funny signs and posters, drawn, of course, together with the children. The content of the signs may be as follows: “Door to the fifth dimension”, “Caution, hungry mosquitoes”, “No biting!”, “Don’t scare bats", "Scary Room", etc.

2. Charming ghosts cut out of a sheet of whatman paper will be happy to be placed on the walls and ceilings of your home.

3. Thematic figures – bats, spiders, pumpkins, etc. You can also cut them out of colored paper and hang them around your apartment, or you can decorate the windows with them. By the way, such thematic stickers can be purchased at almost any stationery store.

4. Cut autumn branches will help create a magical holiday atmosphere.

5. A variety of Halloween figurines, purchased in a store (very cute figurines are sold in the Red Cube chain of stores) or made by yourself, will decorate window sills and bookshelves.

6. Pumpkins! The more of them there are at the holiday, the better. From a couple of large pumpkins you can make holiday lamps with funny faces, and use the rest to decorate the room.

7. It's hard to imagine Halloween without the mysterious flickering of candles. Candles create an amazing atmosphere, but be careful - fire safety measures must be observed at a children's party.

8. Autumn leaves, straw and others natural materials– the best thing you can think of for decorating your home and holiday table.

9. You can easily draw terribly cute tantamaresques depicting all kinds of monsters and ghosts yourself on a sheet of whatman paper, and then cut out holes for the face and hands. The main thing here is not artistic skill, and the love and care that you put into your creations!

10. Decide in advance how much fun your house can handle, and make cute invitations in the form of pumpkins or autumn leaves for all guests.

Children's Halloween party: festive table

“Cheap and cheerful” - it will look very impressive festive table, draped in black and orange mesh, which can be purchased at any fabric store. Make the same one, and secure all the knots and folds with decorative spiders. It is good to additionally decorate the table with a natural composition of pumpkins, leaves and candles and other Halloween paraphernalia.

The holiday menu should consist of healthy dishes children's kitchen , decorated and named according to the holiday theme. For example: all kinds of pumpkin dishes - stew served in a hollowed out pumpkin, golden pancakes, pumpkin pie; juices and compotes are predominantly red, but you should always have an alternative option for children who do not want to eat red foods due to allergies; salads decorated in the form of shapeless monsters with eyes made of olives or peas; vegetable and fruit slices in the form of eyes, smiling jaws, etc. – there are no limits to imagination here. Sandwiches, pies, and cookies can also be decorated in the most amazing way.

Children's Halloween Party: Costumes

Any themed holiday involves dressing up, and Halloween is no exception. You can purchase ready-made costumes, or you can make a costume yourself. Anything that somehow resonates with our theme will be a suitable option: a vampire robe, a pirate outfit, a witch or ghost costume - all of this is spot on.
Take care of the attire for your guests. Of course, they will probably not come empty-handed, but just in case, prepare some elements of costumes for the invited children and adults - just enjoy the walk!

Children's Halloween: games and competitions

1. Test. When opening the Halloween party, arrange a “test” for the kids to test their knowledge of the habits of otherworldly inhabitants:
- to the most terrible howl;
- to the loudest stomp;
- knowledge of traditional scary dance (dance competition for attentiveness when repeating movements).

These “tests” will help to involve children in the festive process and activate their attention.

2. Repeated horror story. Now the guys move single file behind the leader, repeating the words and movements after him:

We are entering dark forest (take a few sneaking steps forward),
Where are the trees up to the sky? pull your hands up)!
Let's wander along the path ( a few more steps),
Let's wander into the thicket of the forest ( spread our fingers out to look like tree branches).
We reach the ravine ( sneaking around),
Oh, we'll be scared ( we're shaking):
There's a roar everywhere, a howl everywhere ( we stomp and make scary sounds) –
It's time for us to run home ( children run in all directions and hide in all directions, and the leader tries to catch them)!

3. Hungry monster. This adorable monster with open mouth You need to draw it in advance on a sheet of Whatman paper and glue it to a cardboard base. The monster's mouth is cut off, and a stand is glued to the back of this structure so that the cardboard can stand on the floor. You can also use a tall box, on one of the wide sides of which a monster is drawn and its mouth is cut out. The children’s task is to “feed” the monster by throwing tennis or plastic balls into its open mouth. The one who hits the target the most times wins.

4. Crossing the swamp. For this competition, prepare hummocks cut out of paper or leftover linoleum. Children will need to “go through the swamp”, stepping only onto saving hummocks. One participant is given three bumps, after completing a step, he must move one bump forward and take the next step, etc. The game is a relay race. The fastest participant (or team) wins.

5. “Take care of your eyes!” Another relay game. We will need a tablespoon and a painted under eyeball tennis ball. Participants need to quickly and very carefully bring the “eye” in the spoon to its destination. The team that can complete the task faster and more accurately wins.

6. Dinner for a witch. Under the guidance of the leader, the children will need to find the ingredients for dinner that were scattered and hung around the room in advance: rubber snakes, lizards, various insects, bats and spiders. The presenter reads the recipe, for example: for the roast we will need 15 bats, 2 cockroaches, 10 caterpillars, etc., and the guys look around the room for the ingredients in the right quantity. A small snack after such a competition suggests itself!

7. Path of Terror. While the children are busy in the hall, quietly place several cardboard boxes with different fillings that are unpleasant to the touch: wet moss, crumpled newspaper, rustling bags, a damp rag, a heating pad with warm water. When everything is ready, invite the children to walk along this scary path one by one. The main condition: the participants’ eyes must be closed and they must walk barefoot.

8. Vampires. Before the competition begins, tell the legend that we have entered the domain of a vampire lord and are obliged to follow the rules of the vampires' daily routine. Together with the guys, we remember what time of day they sleep and what time they are awake. We choose a “victim” and place it near the window. And the “vampires” - all the other children - are located on the opposite side of the room in their “crypt”. The children’s task is to move only when the leader announces the onset of night, and freezing in place at the word “day,” to try to catch the victim as quickly as possible. Whoever catches it wins.

9. Little artists. Children are given air balloons orange color and black permanent (others may smudge) markers. You need to draw a Halloween monster on the ball. The funniest grimace wins.

10. Night rest. Do you remember the indescribable delight and horror that various scary stories caused you in childhood? Light a candle, sit the children around it and announce a competition scary stories. The candle is carefully passed from one participant to another, and the one near whom the candle stops must tell his “horror story.” The main thing here is not to overdo it and creepy stories end on an optimistic note, bringing smiles and laughter. Believe me, the atmosphere is amazing, fascinating stories and the opportunity to imagine a little will bring a lot of pleasure to both storytellers and listeners.

Don't forget about the festive disco with cheerful dance competitions: with balls sandwiched between bellies – for the friendliest couple, with a mop in his hands - for the most cheerful and active witch, with repetition of movements - for care and precision and etc.

And finish the competition part at a festively set table, “planting” a pre-cleaned pumpkin with all sorts of sweets suitable for the theme in the center of the table - licorice candies in the shape of worms, “scary” chewing marmalade and figured cookies.

Halloween- one of ancient holidays in the world. This holiday combines two cultures - the Celtic tradition of honoring evil spirits and the Christian tradition of worshiping all saints.

There is no need to celebrate Halloween strictly according to tradition! You can take interesting ideas and arrange a fun themed children's party.

For a children's party it is not necessary to use vampires and bloody monsters. It is better to combine an Americanized holiday with Russian characters: a ghost, a witch, Baba Yaga (grandmother-hedgehog), kikimora, goblin, drummer, brownie, old man-forest...

So you've decided to throw a Halloween party at home. A couple of recommendations for the event organizer.

First, warn guests in advance about the upcoming event and that the party will be a costume party. You can even announce a competition with an award for the best costume.

Send out homemade invitations within two weeks.

Holiday decoration

Now we need to think about the interior. You need to give the party a festive atmosphere. The main attribute, of course, is a carved pumpkin, but you shouldn’t limit yourself to it.

You can use cobwebs, bats, black fabric, garlands and the Halloween tree to decorate the interior.

Take care of the lighting. It should be dim, it is better to use candles and colored lamps.

Wood in the interior

Preparation method

Anything can be used, but first you need to find suitable branches. If the branches are thin, you can do autumn composition with dried leaves and ribbons.

If you are lucky and find a gnarled piece of driftwood, then you can hang hell fruits, snakes, spiders and cobwebs from it.

We took the beetles and spiders from a children's set with rubber insects. The web is woven from ordinary black threads. We added a little thorns, rubber snakes and ribbons.

A silicate concrete block with a hole, wrapped in fabric and tied with cord, was used as a stand for the “snaggy” tree. To heighten the fear, beetles were attached to the fabric.

Holiday tree decoration - ghost

Materials:

White napkins, one for each ghost.

Cotton pads or just cotton wool.

Black felt-tip pen.

Black paper, hole punch, glue, white thread.

Method for making ghosts:

Roll a cotton pad into a round ball and place it in the center of the napkin (unfolded).

Wrap the napkin around the cotton wool and tie it tightly with white thread.

Trim the uneven edges at the bottom a little in a circle, as in the photo.

Thread a white thread into a needle and pierce the head of the ghost from below, bringing the thread to the top, make a loop and in the same way, stitching the head, return to the starting position and fasten the thread. It may not be very easy to make a loop like this, but if you just hang a ghost by the neck, you won’t get quite the same effect - the loop should come out from the center of the head, so to speak, from the top of the head.

Using a hole punch, cut out round black eyes and glue them to the head with PVA glue.

Using a thin marker or black felt-tip pen, we use dots to indicate a smile.

The ghost is ready. For greater effect, make more ghosts. Light, mobile from any air vibration. Such ghosts look very beautiful under the light of an ultraviolet lamp.

Making a full-length ghost

In Russia, hardly anyone will hire a living ghost, but the very idea of a ghost is full height you can borrow it. We made our ghost the size of a child and hid it in the corner.

Materials :

A piece of sheet, black paint, boots, pants. For filling: badminton rackets, rags, teddy bear.

Here, the most important thing is to make a stable structure that would stand quietly and not fall apart. As a frame, we used badminton rackets twisted with wire on a ghost belt and carefully wrapped in rags, stuffed into pants and boots at the bottom. It is precisely due to the strong connection of the frame with the boots that the ghost can stand.

We tied a large teddy bear to the frame on top.

We cover the ghost with a white cloth and draw eyes, having previously placed a bag so as not to stain the toy. When covering the structure with fabric, leave your pants and boots visible.

Festive table

The decoration of the festive table should also be appropriate. Choose a black or orange tablecloth, think about the design of the napkins. Homemade napkin clips with spiders look interesting. You can also decorate salad spoons and glasses with spiders.

Dishes can be everyday, the main thing is to arrange them correctly and choose an original name for each dish. “Frog salad”, “dried caterpillars”, “Soup with eyes”, “Spider legs”... Eyes can be made from egg halves, caterpillars - canapés. Black pasta with carrot slices looks good.

For dessert, you can bake cookies in the shape of pumpkins or bats; the pie can be decorated with a spider web of chocolate icing.

Jack-o-lantern

How to carve a pumpkin

Prepare a large pumpkin, preferably of the correct shape.

For cutting, it’s good to use a carving set, but if you don’t have one, you can get by with a kitchen knife. The knife should be sharp and narrow.

Cut off the “lid” of the pumpkin. Cut at an angle so that later the “lid” does not fall inside.

Using a round spoon, remove all the seeds and, if possible, some of the pulp.

Draw or print a cutting template.

Attach the drawing to the pumpkin and use an awl or other sharp object to transfer the picture.

Using a knife, carefully cut out the eyes, nose and mouth, pushing the pieces inside.

Place a small candle in the finished pumpkin.

DO NOT draw on the pumpkin with a felt-tip pen or marker - it doesn’t wash off well! It’s better to pierce the design with an awl, or, in extreme cases, scratch it with some sharp object.

Together with the child. Craft from salt dough "Pumpkin"

It's very easy to make these cute pumpkins with your kids. The finished craft will be multifunctional: play with it in the store, use several crafts as didactic material. And by the way, this great gift for friends on Halloween.

Materials: Orange and green salty dough and a toothpick.

Preparation method :

Roll several orange balls. The approximate diameter size is 5 and 3 centimeters.

Flatten the top a little with your finger.

Use a toothpick to dent the stripes - the relief of the pumpkin. Start pressing the relief from the bottom of the pumpkin, gradually changing the angle of the toothpick.

Roll out green dough flatbreads.

Cut out the leaves and also dent the veins of the leaves with a toothpick.

Place green leaves and a tail on top of the pumpkin.

Bake in the oven at 180 degrees until hardened.

Photo gallery: Treats or Tricks: how to organize a children's Halloween at home

Despite all its frightening attributes, Halloween is one of the most favorite holidays for children all over the world. Well, how could it be otherwise, considering that only on All Saints’ Day can children have a lot of fun and scare adults with the traditional collection of sweets in exchange for “life.” Therefore, we invite you not to deny your kids this pleasure and organize a fun children's party on the night of November 1st. And you will learn how to do this correctly from our article today.

How to spend a children's Halloween: preparatory stage

Since Halloween is a bright and costumed holiday, we suggest starting with general organizational issues. First, you need to take care of the appropriate “scary” atmosphere. To do this, decorate the place of the future party with traditional Halloween symbols: carved pumpkins, silhouettes of skeletons and witches, artificial cobwebs, scary masks etc.

Secondly, carefully think over the scenario for children's Halloween - half the success of the entire event will depend on it. We advise you to start by sending out original invitations to guests. These can be either ready-made cards or hand-made invitations. In them you can indicate not only the time and place of the future holiday, but also write about the need for a special dress code and warn about the evening program. By the way, about the program. Without a carefully thought-out script, a children's party will turn into an uncontrollable commotion. Therefore, be sure to prepare fun competitions and entertainment. Among the traditional ones: catching an apple with your mouth in a barrel, pumpkin golf (pumpkin instead of a hole), a master class on carving a Jack-o-lantern, a competition for the scariest costume or story. There can be a lot of options!

And thirdly, take care of small themed gifts for guests. These can be either small souvenirs that symbolize the holiday, or fun memorable photos and treats.

What treats to choose for children's Halloween

An important part of a party for children on All Saints' Day is the festive table, the menu of which should fully correspond to the atmosphere of the event. Therefore, you will have to try and play up the usual dishes so that they do not contrast against the general background of the event.

In addition, it is important to remember that the menu for children's Halloween should be healthy and varied. For example, classic spaghetti with meat can be presented in the form of disgusting worms, and ordinary tomato juice can be treated as fresh blood. But the easiest way is to decorate desserts accordingly. For example, it’s easy to make spiders and cobwebs for cupcakes from chocolate, and to form nails for cookies—lady fingers—from almonds. Even simple fruits can be transformed beyond recognition if you apply a little imagination. For example, peeled tangerines with a slice of kiwi are very reminiscent of small pumpkins, and halves of bananas with chocolate eyes resemble cute ghosts.

Don't worry about tomorrow
for tomorrow will take care of its own things:
Enough for every day of your care.
(Matt 6:34)

Good afternoon, dear readers and moviegoers!

Quite recently, a film was released that is of particular interest not so much because storyline, acting, special effects or atmosphere, as much as due to the non-triviality of the underlying idea.

In the distant future, and most likely in an imaginary universe, humanity was able to come close to immortality. Any person is capable of living for centuries while remaining forever young. Once people reach the age of 25, they stop aging. There is only one “but” left: their biological clock, symbolically represented as a timer on the left hand (yes, very similar to the “inscription” from), from this moment begins to count down. A person is given only one year of life for nothing, the rest of the time he literally has to earn.

“Time” (In Time, 2011).

Time is the universal currency of this world. It is the single measure of everything. With your own time a person pays for housing, food, clothing, entertainment... It can be given as a gift, won, stolen.

Placed in harsh conditions of survival - to survive from one day of life to the next - people do not even have time to think about the evils of the system: the unfair distribution of time. Social inequality here is elevated to the absolute: the poor are given days and hours, the rich are given millennia. The picture is completed by the division of the entire territory into temporary zones, cut off from each other by almost insurmountable barriers.

For Will Salas (Justin Timberlake), simple guy from the outskirts, the world remained like this until the day when he decided to protect a strange rich man who dreams of only one thing - death.

The director, producer and screenwriter of the film is Andrew Niccol. It was he who wrote the script for the films “The Truman Show” (The Truman Show, 1998), “The Terminal” (2004), and also acted as both a screenwriter and director of such films as “Gattaca” (1997), “Simone "(S1m0ne, 2002), "Baron of Arms" (Lord of War, 2005).

The list is very interesting. Special attention, in my opinion, deserves "Gattaca". In it, as in “Time,” the world of the genetic future is outlined, in which perfection prevails: people have learned to program their offspring even before birth, rejecting “low-quality material” and adding to their taste any properties necessary for success - beauty, health, intelligence ...

But if “Gattaca” was about an attempt to deceive a blind system that destroys destinies and dreams, then “Time” is more straightforward - it’s just about exploding the system from the inside.

In general, the simplicity and schematic nature of “Time” is perhaps the main advantage of this film. The characters' characters are only outlined, the conflict is obvious, and the actions are predictable.

“Time” is made up of simple diagram cubes, and it is in the gap between them that you can find space for your own thoughts. This is, perhaps, what characterizes popular cinema: the ability to play with this construction set in your own way.

From this point of view, "Time" is a very good modern parable oh, served with the sauce of chases, shooting, noble robbery and the fight for justice.

Will Salas, an everyman turned hero, literally holds the key to change in his hands. His is to become the liberator of humanity.

The deliberate naivety and pathos of his mission gives us a chance to ask ourselves burning questions about the meaning of life and the meaning of death.

Despite the sketchiness of the picture, it turned out to be surprisingly fresh: they had never talked about time, eternity and immortality like that before, we had never been asked such questions.

After all, if you look closely, we already pay for everything in our lives with our time, it’s just that the calculation scheme is more complicated. It includes such an element as money. If you have worked at your job, you will receive a salary.

However, how often do we analyze our lives, how often do we try to understand its meaning? What would you do if you had all eternity? But just one day?

The key scene of the film, and this is worth noting, plays out long before the ending, in the dialogue between Will and Henry Hamilton, a rich man tired of the meaninglessness of an endless life.

“Don’t waste my time,” with these words he says goodbye to Will, giving him his remaining years.

“Live in the present moment, as if you were to die tomorrow,” is the meaning put into the film by its creator Andrew Niccol.

Our right is to endow these lines with gospel meaning.

White holes: black holes in reverse

If you think about it, there is something very intriguing in this whole black hole story - a pronounced asymmetry of time. In the previous discussion, we kept playfully turning in expressions that suggested the directionality of time: we said “once you go beyond the event horizon, you can’t come back” - but not “once you go beyond the event horizon, you can’t come back.” And this is not a manifestation of our linguistic carelessness - the very nature of a black hole implies an asymmetry in time. The Singularity is always in your future, not in your past, and there can be no two opinions about this.

This is not a manifestation of any fundamental physical laws. General theory relativity is perfectly symmetrical in time: for each space-time representing a solution to the Einstein equation, there is another solution that is identical to the previous one, but has a reverse course of time. A black hole is one of the solutions to Einstein’s equation, therefore there are equivalent solutions “living in the other direction” - white holes.

To get the definition of a white hole, you just need to take the description of a black hole and replace all the words related to time with terms with the opposite meaning. In this case, the singularity will be in the past, from which the light cones appear. The event horizon will lie in the future relative to the singularity, and even further away will be the outside world. The horizon represents a place beyond which you can never return to the area of the white hole.

However, why do we constantly hear about black holes in the Universe, but almost no one talks about white ones? Let's start with the fact that it is impossible to “create” a white hole. Since we are in the outside world, the singularity and event horizon of the white hole are necessarily left in our minds. past. So we shouldn't worry about how to construct a white hole at all. If we ever discover such an object, it will mean that it has existed in the Universe from the very beginning.

If we approach the issue with all seriousness, then the word “create” should alert us. Why, in a world governed by the reversible laws of physics, do we think in terms of “creating” things that continue to exist in the future, but not things that can go into the past and take their rightful place there? For the same reason we believe in free will: a low-entropy condition in the past places strict limits on what could happen before, and the absence of such boundary conditions in the future leaves a virtually infinite number of possibilities. further development events.

Rice. 5.6. The space-time of a white hole is a time-reflected version of a black hole.

Consequently, the answer to the question “Why does the process of formation of a black hole seem quite clear, and if we find white holes in the Universe, then they are already in a ready-made state?” should be obvious: because the entropy of a black hole is greater than the entropy of the things from which it could be made. In fact, calculating the value of entropy is quite difficult; Hawking radiation must be taken into account (we'll talk about this in Chapter 12). Key moment for us - that the entropy of a black hole is extremely high. It is black holes that can shed light on the connection between gravity and entropy - two critical ingredients in the final explanation of the arrow of time.
