Eurovision England. Armenia

Only a few days left until the most prestigious music competition, which captures the attention of the whole world. A competition that has gained incredible popularity among viewers of all nationalities and ages. Eurovision is a European song contest with a long history. It grew out of the Italian Sanremo festival. The Eurovision Song Contest was first held in May 1956 in Switzerland. At that time, only seven countries participated in it. Since then, Eurovision has been one of the most popular and large-scale events in the field of mass culture.

The competition has its own rules and traditions: From each of the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union, one soloist or music group. The concert number must be no more than three minutes long, otherwise she may be disqualified. And there should be no more than six people on stage during performance. Performers must be over 16 years of age. Choice musical composition and in what language it will be performed remains up to the artists. Only new songs can be performed in Eurovision, this is another Eurovision rule. This was invented so that no one would have an advantage due to the popularity of the song. The song, of course, should be performed live. There cannot be amplifiers on stage, the drummer must use the provided drum kit. A soundtrack to music is allowed, provided that it is instrumental.

In Eurovision the audience votes. Within 15 minutes after the performance of the last competition song. However, viewers cannot send SMS messages for the artist representing their country. Viewer votes are counted by country. The top 10 songs in each country receive points. 11 points does not exist. 12 points are given for first place, 10 for second place and from third to tenth - from 8 to 1 point in descending order. The winner is the country whose song scores the most points. This country gets the right to next year hold another competition.

The Eurovision Song Contest was not shown in the Soviet Union. 200 million people were unable to watch Europe's favorite TV competition. And, as usually happens, the forbidden fruit was sweet.

Our country took part in this competition for the first time in 1994. Russia was represented by 21-year-old Maria Katz, under the pseudonym Judith, then she took 9th place. Maria says that this was once her dream. And the dream came true. But then Mary did not yet know how many troubles and troubles would follow from this.

The Eurovision Song Contest, according to the singer, is a kind of music community talented people. Especially for the Euroshow, Maria was designed with a transforming dress, which was sewn by Pavel Kaplevich from ordinary leggings. These were times of shortage; there was tension in everything in the union. The competition was then held in Ireland, and just before the trip Maria became very ill with bronchitis. The plane on which the young singer was flying could not land for a long time. But this was the beginning of troubles! The Russian's performance was in jeopardy several times. Before the competition there are only 3 rehearsals of 40 minutes each with the Eurovision orchestra. But the musicians did not consider it necessary to read the scores in advance. And in fact, two rehearsals were disrupted. Before the performance itself, one of the participants approached Maria and said: “Masha, you are so beautiful, I’m so afraid of you, you are really a serious competitor.” She kissed our singer, after which Maria started bleeding from her nose. In the men's restroom they washed the dress, dried it with a hairdryer, then turned it over backwards. So Masha went on stage. And when she brought home 9th place, many attacked her with reproaches.

In 1995, Philip Kirkorov competed from Russia at Eurovision and took only 17th place. This was and remains the worst result for our country. Then Kirkorov had a misunderstanding with his suit. Without telling anyone, he replaced him and the operators were not prepared for the singer to appear on stage all in white. As is known, White color requires special lighting. And despite his beauty, Kirkorov’s beautiful gestures came to naught.

Russia skipped 1996, and in 1997 the prima donna herself went to the Eurovision Song Contest. But neither her song, nor her voice, nor her popularity made an impression on the Europeans. And in total - 15th place.

1998 was again a bad year for Russia at this competition! Tatyana Ovsienko, who was supposed to represent our country, was disqualified before the start of the competition. The thing is that the first channel was poorly familiar with the rules of the competition. Maybe it's for the better. I personally don’t associate Tatyana Ovsienko in any way with a singer, especially one who could adequately perform at a competition of such a high level.

In 1999, Russia again did not participate in the competition, but in 2000 it took second place! And this is thanks to the youngest singer at that time, Alsou.

The Mumiy Troll group took only 12th place in 2001.

In 2002, the group "Prime Minister" closed the top ten.

In 2003, the then scandalous group TATU was sent to the European Song Contest. The girls then took 3rd place.

Young Yulia Savicheva, who represented Russia in 2004, brought 11th place.

In 2005, Russia was represented by Natalya Podolskaya and also took a low place - she was 15th.

In 2006, Dima Bilan went to the competition and took second place. In 2007, the female trio “Silver” took third place. And in 2008, Dima Bilan again took part in the competition and this time brought victory to Russia. For the first time at the most prestigious European music competition, a representative of our country took first place!

2009 Anastasia Prikhodko took 11th place.

2010 – Unknown Peter Nalich and his Music band took 11th place at Eurovision.

2011 - Alexey Vorobyov showed one of the lowest results - 16th place, only Kirkorov performed worse in his time.

In 2012, Russia was more original than ever and sent the “Buranovskie Babushki” team to the Euroshow, who justified the bookmakers’ forecasts and came second!

This year the Eurovision will be the 58th competition and will be held in Sweden, in the city of Malmo. The winner of the television project “The Voice”, Dina Garipova, has already gone there. Dina Garipova is a 22-year-old journalism student. It is this girl from Tatarstan, who captivated many with her crazy vocal abilities, who will defend the honor of our country at the famous song competition. This girl has already conquered the Russians, having scored the most a large number of points out of 48 talented participants project "Voice".

This year they did not hold qualifying round. Channel One itself determined the candidate. By the way, this practice of many European countries. When the winner of some musical television competition is sent to Eurovision.

Many consider this competition not so much musical as sociological, reminiscent of roulette. The task of the contestants is to be able to concentrate and present themselves and the song in such a way as to be remembered and liked by the audience.

Dina Garipova says: “ I don’t always have time to go online to listen to the songs of other participants in the competition. But from what I have heard and seen, it is clear that this Eurovision will be very strong. So many bright participants, good voices."

Dina Garipova will perform the song “What If...”, written specifically for the competition. It was announced in December open competition for a song with which Russia could adequately perform in Sweden. In two months, the management of Channel One received about 200 applications, and not only from Russia. As a result, the choice fell on the song “What If...”, created by Swedish musicians and Russian musician Leonid Gutkin. Music critics They are already discussing that this song does not correspond to the dance format that is so popular at Eurovision.

Dina will have to fight for the right to qualify for the final on the first day of Eurovision, May 14. The order of performance of the participating countries has not yet been determined. We can only hope that the young singer has enough strength and talent to perform well at Eurovision.

I have always wondered, is the Eurovision Song Contest an honest competition or just an ordinary rigging? And what is the formula for success in it? What is more important – vocal abilities or show?! How to approach this competition is up to each individual. I personally wish Dina good luck from the bottom of my heart, because I think that for the first time in many years Russia sent a participant who can actually sing!

Russian singer Dina Garipova became fifth, gaining 174 points based on the results of the audience vote and the decision of the professional jury.

Perhaps the main intrigue of the current competition, in addition to the participants’ performances themselves, was the expectation of how accurately the bookmakers’ forecasts would coincide with the results of the audience vote and a strict jury. From the very beginning 20-year-old Danish Emily de Forest was considered the favorite of the final stage of the popular song competition. And yesterday's waitress lived up to the expectations placed on her.

The blonde artist took to the Malmo Arena stage barefoot and presented a beautiful song that she wrote herself and a colorful number. And the drummers and flutist performing with her captivated audiences throughout Europe.

By the way, the bookmakers unanimously put 27-year-old representative of Norway Margaret Berger and her song I Feed You My Love in second place. However, the native of Trondheim, who began her pop career in 2004, was surpassed by a handsome man from Azerbaijan.

Dima Bilan with the song Believe brought a long-awaited victory. The best performances were also in 2000, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2012, when the second places were taken respectively by Alsou with the song Solo, Dima Bilan with the song Never Let You Go and the ensemble "Buranovskie Babushki" and their Party for Everybody. Third place was reserved by the group "Serebro" with the composition Song Number One and t.A.T.u.

Emmy scored 281 points. The highest score - 12 points - was given to it by: Great Britain, Serbia, Italy, Iceland, France, Ireland, Slovenia, Macedonia.

Azerbaijan took second place in Eurovision, and Ukraine took third place. Russia is in fifth place.

We congratulate the winners and begin to talk about how it went.

The motto of this year's competition is “We are one.” This is exactly what the number that opened the show was intended to show. To the song written for Eurovision by the male half of the legendary quartet ABBA (remember that in 1974 the group won this competition with the song Waterloo), all participants walked across the suspension bridge above the heads of the audience. With each artist at his side, a standard bearer carried the flag of his country.

Presenter Pedra Mede then announced the start of the competition.

The first to take the stage was singer Amandine Bourgeois from France. By the way, the draw this year was not carried out as usual. Participants only chose which half of the show they would perform in. Then the director distributed them all in terms of composition of numbers and songs. But let's return to the French woman. Her song L"enfer et moi turned out to be a little tough, with notes of seduction and, of course, not without careless French chic. Amandine eventually took 23rd place.

Amandine Bourgeois

Lithuanian contestant Andrius Pojavis came second with the composition Something. The audience greeted the performance of the clear-eyed young man very well, but Europe only placed him in 22nd place.

Andrius Poyavis

Singer from Moldova Alena Moon performed third with the song O mie and a spectacular number, or rather, a dress that was literally pierced by lightning during the performance, with fire burning on it. Moreover, it grew higher and higher. Her transformations took 11th place.

Alena Moon

Next came Krista Siegfrids from Finland. Her performance for the song Marry Me became one of the most striking in the second semi-final. With her composition, the girl decided to hint to her beloved that it was time to legalize the relationship after eight years of dating, and at the same time tried to attract the attention of her country to the legalization of same-sex marriage by kissing her backing vocalist. Surprisingly, the Tatu group was not allowed to do this in 2003. However, the kiss did not help Finland win a place higher than 24th.

Christa Siegfrieds

Next, the Spanish group El Sueño de Morfeo performed. The lead singer of the group is known primarily for her already broken marriage with racer Fernando Alonso. However, here she showed not only her beauty, but also her wonderful voice, which, however, brought the group only the penultimate place in the competition.

El Sueno de Morfeo

18-year-old Belgian Roberto Bellarosa, number six, accompanied by two female dancers, performed the song Love Kills. At the competition, the young man was dubbed the Belgian Justin Bieber. He finished 12th.

Following her was Alena Lanskaya from Belarus, already recognized as one of the most beautiful Eurovision participants this year. Alena, like in the semi-finals, wore a dress made of 70 thousand rhinestones weighing six kilos. At the same time, she easily and fieryly moved to her song Solayoh, and deserved 16th place.

Alena Lanskaya
