The results of Eurovision 2016 were commented on in the State Duma of the Russian Federation

The results of Eurovision 2016 were politically biased. This was stated to TASS by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, Elena Drapeko (A Just Russia).

“This is partly a consequence of the propaganda information war that is being waged against Russia. We are talking about the general demonization of Russia - that everything is bad with us, that our athletes are doped, that our planes violate airspace - this, of course, has an effect,” - Drapeko said.

She also expressed the opinion that Russia “should definitely continue to take part in Eurovision, because Lazarev sang wonderfully.”

“His performance was very good, and this high level was seen by half the world. This proves that everything is not as they say about us, so I think that we should thank him, it’s a wonderful song,” the deputy noted.

The politician also highlighted the good performance of the Ukrainian artist Jamala.

“A wonderful voice, a wonderful performance... but it seems to me that this is not a song that young people will sing, that will be listened to many times - it will be forgotten,” the first deputy chairman of the committee is sure, calling Jamala’s victory “a fact of injustice,” “after all, everyone saw "How wonderfully Lazarev sang."

The audience gave the victory to Russia

Millions of people around the world watched the Eurovision 2016 final. Representatives from 26 countries competed in the final. Russia was represented by Sergey Lazarev with the song “You Are The Only One”.

Lazarev had a hard time preparing for this competition - at one of his concerts he even fainted, later explaining this as heavy preparation for the European competition. “Every time I performed a routine, there was a risk that I might fall. But I did it and everything went well. The audience was fantastic,” Lazarev commented on his performance immediately after the end of the competition.

The result is Lazarev third. Based on the totality of two votes - the national jury and the audience - the Russian singer scored 491 points (130 and 361).

The juries of Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Belarus and Greece gave Russia 12 points each.

Jamala won with 534 points. It is worth noting that the voting of the Ukrainian jury and spectators turned out to be the opposite in relation to Russia: the jury did not give a single point to Lazarev, while the Ukrainians gave the highest score.

Second place was taken by Australian Demi Im, who, as it turned out, has Ukrainian roots. She was in the lead after the jury vote.

Results:

1. Ukraine 534 points

2.Australia 511 points

3. Russia 491 points

Let us remember that after the second semi-final, the head of the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTKU) Zurab Alasania said that if the next competition is held in Russia, Ukraine will not go to it. Eurovision 2017 will be held in Ukraine. Will Russia go?

Jamala - winner of Eurovision 2016 in the final with the song “1944”

When the invaders come...
They're breaking into your house
They kill everyone
And they say:
"We are not to blame
not guilty."
Where is your mind?
Humanity is crying.

You think you are gods.
But everyone dies.
Don't consume my soul.
Our souls

I couldn't enjoy my youth

We could build a future
Where people are free
To live and love.
Happy time.
Where is your heart?
Humanity, rise up!

Do you think you are gods
But everyone dies.
Don't consume my soul.
Our souls
I couldn't enjoy my youth
I couldn't live on this earth
I couldn't enjoy my youth
I couldn't live on this earth.

"Eurovision"

Eurovision has been held annually since 1956. Russia first took part in the competition in 1994 and won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, when singer Dima Bilan won first place. According to the rules, Eurovision 2017 will be held in Ukraine, the homeland of the winner of Eurovision in 2016.

The competition is open to countries that are members of the European Broadcasting Union or the Council of Europe. Also participating in the competition are states located in Asia: Israel and Cyprus (they send participants to the competition almost every year from the beginning of participation), as well as partially located in Europe and Asia: Armenia, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Non-European and not a member of the EMU or CoE, Australia has been participating since 2015.

Yesterday, May 14, the Eurovision 2016 song contest ended in Stockholm. The whole of Europe voted with bated breath for their favorite participants from various countries. The winner was the Ukrainian performer Jamala, who performed number 21 with the song “1944”. This composition tells the story of her family’s deportation from Crimea in the middle of the last century. The Ukrainian star, who had difficulty holding back tears on stage, received a standing ovation from the audience.

Russian singer Sergey Lazarev with the song “You Are the Only One” (“You are the only one”) became 3rd. Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Belarus and Greece gave him the highest score. In addition, he became the best according to the results of the audience vote. The audience gave the Ukrainian a place behind him.

The Eurovision 2016 final was held in Stockholm, Sweden, at the Globen concert and sports arena with a capacity of more than 10 thousand spectators. 26 participants reached the finals.

Before the start of the final of the competition, a scandal occurred, during which the Ukrainian side threatened to refuse to participate in Eurovision in 2017 if Russia won this year.

Where Russian participant Polina Gagarina shone and took second place, the 29-year-old singer from Sweden, Måns Selmerlöw, won. The rules of the competition give the winning country the right to host Eurovision 2016, which will be held for the 61st time. Preparations for the new stage of the competition began in November 2015. From the article you will find out who will go to Eurovision from Russia, where the competition will be held and who will ultimately win. The results of Eurovision 2016 will be published here immediately after the final of the competition.

When is Eurovision 2016

The most important song competition traditionally takes place in mid-May; the dates move annually either closer to the beginning or closer to the end of the month.

In 2016, the dates for the Eurovision semi-finals and finals are as follows:

  • May 10- first semi-final
  • 12 May- second semi-final
  • May 14- the final

All stages will be held at 10 pm European time. The Russians will find out the name of the winner long after midnight.

Where will Eurovision 2016 take place?

This year, the host of Eurovision 2016 will be Sweden, namely the capital Stockholm.

Location: Ericsson Globe, a huge spherical arena, a futuristic building located in a specially built area of Globe City.

The Ericsson Globe Arena is the largest hemisphere in the world, accommodating up to 16,000 guests.

How to get there

The Globe City area, where Eurovision 2016 will take place, is just 5-6 km from the center. You can get here either on foot or by public transport or taxi.

If you prefer the metro:

  • use the green branch №19 (next to stations Hagsätra And Högdalen), you need to get off at the station Globen
  • branches will also work №17 And 18 , going towards the terminal stations Skarpnäck And Farsta Strand, accordingly, you need to go to Gullmarsplan
  • Metro stations Skärmarbrink, Blåsut, Sandsborg And Enskede Gard are within radius 1 km from the arena

There are tram and bus stops near the arena.

If you don't want to deal with Stockholm's public transport system, take a taxi instead. A Russian-speaking team will help you order a taxi.

Eurovision 2016: Sergey Lazarev and song

The Russian organizing committee of Eurovision 2016 confirmed that Russia will be represented this year by an experienced and well-known singer in Europe Sergey Lazarev. He will perform at number 9, and bookmakers are already predicting Russia's victory this year. Philip Kirkorov, who has trained more than one star for the international competition and knows all the intricacies of Eurovision, will take an active part in preparing the performance program and selecting the team.

Russia first entered the charts long before the start of Eurovision. Bookmakers predict Sergei Lazarev and Russia to win the competition.

Sergey Lazarev was chosen by the VGTRK channel independently, without audience voting and qualifying rounds.

Rumors have already spread that Sergey Lazarev agreed to participate in Eurovision 2016 only because he was delighted with the song offered to him. Worked on it:

  • Greek composer Dimitris Condopolous
  • Philip Kirkorov
  • Greek director Fokas
  • vocal coach Alex Panayi
  • backing vocalists and dancers from Sweden Johan, Daniel, Alvaro, Marcus, Jennie and Adam

Miss Universe 2015 Vladislav Yevtushenko took part in the video.

The title of the song is "You are the only one". You can listen on YouTube.

Opinions regarding the possibility of Sergei Lazarev winning Eurovision 2016 are different. Some bookmakers say that the political situation will not allow the Russian participant to win. But even before the start of the competition, Sergei Lazarev’s song occupies a leading position in the charts.

At the rehearsal, Sergei Lazarev tripped and fell, but this only added to his strength and desire to win.

This year, Eurovision organizers will introduce a new vote counting system that will add unpredictability and competition to the show. Now, at the very last moment, the winner may not be the one determined by the jury.

First, the professional jury gives its 10 votes (from 1 to 8, 10 and 12 points) to the most liked performers. In the final, the results of the jury will be read out by the leading countries participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, as usual.

At the same time, viewers will have the opportunity to give their 10 votes (from 1 to 8, 10 and 12 points) to any 10 participants.

They will start with the country that received the fewest jury votes. Thus, the result of the jury's voting can be greatly adjusted at the end of the program.

The winner will ultimately be known only at the very end of the show.

Participants

This year they will take part 43 countries, four more than in the past.

In 2016, 4 countries decided to resume their participation: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia and Ukraine. Portugal, on the contrary, will leave the ranks of participants this time.

Let us recall the rules of the game.

  • The five regular participating countries (France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Spain) and last year's winning country, Sweden, automatically qualify for the finals.
  • All other countries will take part in two semi-finals, after which voting will take place. It will determine 20 countries to participate in the final (10 countries from each semi-final).
