The quest part of the festival lasted three days: from June 7 to June 9. Participants of the White Nights of Design had to visit each site, complete tasks and collect treasured badges - “artifacts”. Only the owners of all the artifacts were able to attend the closing ceremony of the festival - the incendiary design AFTER PARTY in the restoration workshop "New Again".

07.06. The first day

On this day, all quest promotional events take place at the YOKE interior center. There are Nolte Designe Studio, DEKE flooring salon, Lucido Italian tile boutique and Servit-Stroy. Right from the door, each guest receives from the organizers of the White Nights of Design a questionnaire with a map of the venues and tasks, as well as multi-colored beads and bracelets - and now we all find ourselves in the hot tropics.

SERVIT-STROY

I decided to visit the SERVIT-STROY site, because already at 17.00 it was very busy there! And this is not surprising. Each participant is invited to create a costume for an exotic customer: a ballerina from Peru, a sea captain from Madagascar, or a dentist from Jamaica... The small office can barely accommodate all the “fashion designers,” but that doesn’t stop anyone. Creativity is in full swing on the site! From scrap materials - PVC different colors and textures, threads, double-sided tape, stickers and appliques - festival participants create real masterpieces: from miniature pointe shoes decorated with outlandish flowers to fantastic bright pink jackets.

My assignment is to make a costume element for twins from Hong Kong. I tried to use leftover materials and made two pairs of bright yellow glasses. To emphasize the individuality of each girl, she decorated them with different elements: delicate calla lilies appeared on some glasses, and succulent leaves appeared on others.

We did not participate in the festival for several years, but decided to resume the tradition. At our site, people can not only have fun, but also look, cut, touch and test the strength of our materials. Tactile perception is very important when making an order decision.

08.06. Second day

Unlike the first day, today you need to run around the city to visit all the festival sites! And, moreover, in the pouring rain! But a quest is a quest, so I set out to go around all five sites.

FANDECO(Ostrovskogo st., 44a)

...Perhaps I’ll start with a new participant in the White Nights of Design - the Fandeco light and decor salon. It can be seen from afar: lit lamps, chandeliers, floor lamps, sconces indicate where to go. At the entrance, you are greeted warmly by the salon staff and escorted into a spacious hall. The beauty you see makes your eyes widen: modern and vintage, gigantic and miniature - one and a half thousand lamps are presented on display. As the salon employees explained, there are about 15 thousand of them in the catalogues.

FANDECO opened just a month and a half ago, so for us, participation in the White Nights of Design is also a way to tell about ourselves. The audience of designers and architects is very interesting to us, and we are sure that this is mutual!

The main feature of the salon is not only a wide range of products, but also a “tasty” selection. Fandeco is the official representative of the Italian brands Arte Lamp and Divinare and the Czech Bohemia Ivele Crystal. “I often drive past the salon, and now I have a reason to look here. I’m already very interested in one chandelier,” admits interior designer Maria Vinogradova.

After getting acquainted with the salon’s products, guests complete a quest: take pictures (the organizers built a special photo zone for this purpose), choose favorites among the lamps and create ornaments from Czech crystal. Having finally treated myself to champagne and gourmet snacks, I move on.

AXIOM OF HEAT (Krasnoarmeyskaya st., 43)

On the next site it is very nice to hide from the pouring rain (which seems to have gotten even worse!) and warm up with hot tea. Here, in the salon of unique radiators “Axiom of Heat”, the entire cream of the design community gathered. Gennady Arsenievich Sorokin, chairman of the board of the Perm branch of the Union of Designers of Russia, is lively discussing new generation ventilation units with Alexey Tarasov, a representative of the Zehnder company. In general, this is one of those platforms where everything is really thought out to the smallest detail and where you want to return.

IRINA RAIKHER SALON-STUDIO (5 Solovyova St.)

It's nice that our Perm design community is so friendly and creative! Inspired, I'm going to go to salon-studio of Irina Raikher. And now I’m already in the studio. “Irina in Wonderland” is the stated theme of this site. Indeed, everything in this wonderful studio is inspired by the world of Lewis Carroll: garlands from playing cards, a miniature house into which you can stick your head and take a photo in the image of a “grown-up Alice”, cookies in the shape of russula, soft drinks with the words “Drink me”, chess, keys, pink flamingos, stunning vintage mirrors, a live rabbit... You want to look at every little thing endlessly, you want to take a photo in every corner. But it’s still prepared for guests creative task: using paints from the new Benjamin Moore brand, festival participants paint keys and decorate postcards.

This is our second year taking part in White Nights. Every festival is a big holiday for us. This is an opportunity for visitors to find out the latest news about our salon. Today we are pleased to present the most matte paints in the world American brand Benjamin Moore!

INTER'YES! (Lenina, 69)

…It’s already 8:45 p.m., and I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it to yet another venue - the INTER’YES interior salon! I take the first bus I come across, rush to my destination, open the doors... and it turns out that everything is just beginning!

Designers are gradually joining INTER’YES - it seems that this is where many decide to complete today’s run through the White Nights venues. To the delight of all those present, salon director Christina Giley prepared a wonderful surprise - a presentation of German textiles Ado.

In honor of this event, the INTER"YES! salon organized an impromptu "picnic" with Bavarian hot sausages, mustard and beer - of course, also German. After all the stations, this is what you need! Guests sit at the table and around the table, talking about textiles and design and just about life.

The last day of the festival has arrived! Both the weather and the intense quest program are very pleasing! Today, the Decor Center, decorative coatings salon DERUFA, SKOL, kitchen studio Giulia Novars, TEPLOFF are waiting for you to visit.

DECOR CENTER (Lenina, 15)

First of all, I go to the Decor Center site. Already at 17.00, it seems, all the designers and craftsmen of Perm gathered here. This is not surprising - the main guests of today's event were the president of OIKOS Claudio Balestri and export manager Matteo Tisseli.

In the hall on the second floor I managed to occupy comfortable spot to listen to the seminar of Signors Balestri and Tisseli. Italians perform at native language- a translator helps them overcome the language barrier with the Russian audience. Claudio and Matteo dedicated today's meeting white color. And, I must say, the White II Bianco by Oikos project found a great response in the hearts of Perm interior designers.

I was amazed by how Italians treat the color white, how they cultivate it, present it, and set fashion. It was surprising to me to learn that there are 99 shades of white!

Now there are a lot of materials on the market, often they look very dignified and beautiful, but they turn out to be not environmentally friendly. And for me it is important that OIKOS decorative coatings do not contain formaldehyde. This is a powerful argument that can be given to the client in order to convince him of the need to use OIKOS materials, to show him your literacy and high qualifications.

While Signors Balestri and Matteo talk with inspiration about the company's mission and the color white, Perm craftsmen and designers demonstrate its capabilities in practice - they compete in applying white plasters Encanto, Ottocento, Marmarino Fine and others. And at this time anyone could paint a wooden “eco-flower” with white paint... In general, the spirit of creativity reigns in the Decor Center! Everyone took brushes in their hands.

DERUFA(Ostrovsky, 30)

...I made the right decision by choosing the Derufa decorative coatings salon as the next point on my route - designers from other sites are gradually “flocking” here. They share news from all the festival days, laugh a lot and communicate with the owners of the site, while enjoying hot tea and pies. You really won't get bored here!

The salon staff has set up two locations for guests. In one of them, designers (including very young ones, among whom, for example, Galya Gordeeva, the daughter of designer Nedezhda Gordeeva) are decorating birdhouses. The organizers, of course, proposed water-based, environmentally friendly paints for this purpose. Some guests take away finished goods with myself. Salon manager Pavel Ryabkov assures: “all birdhouses remaining after the festival will decorate city parks and squares.”

At the second location, designers compete in erudition, logic and sense of humor, answering quiz questions and moving through the cells playing field together with soft toys. The winners receive useful prizes - certificates to the DERUFA salon.
