Seventh international festival“Circle of Light” will take place in Moscow from September 23 to 27. Traditionally, viewers will be able to see multimedia laser shows, special lighting effects and fireworks on the streets of the city, and the main venue will be the Ostankino TV tower. The Bolshoi and Maly theaters will be united into single platform for two shows: Celestial Mechanics and Timeless. "Celestial Mechanics" will tell romantic story love and loneliness, theater buildings will symbolize two lovers. Lighting effects will be complemented by choreographic performance and music.

On the show “Timeless”, viewers will travel back in time with A. N. Ostrovsky. Unique historical scenery will be restored using projectors on the facades of theater buildings and excerpts from famous performances will be shown.

After the show, video mapping competitions in the “classic” and “modern” categories will be held on Teatralnaya Square. Video mapping is the creation of light projections on buildings, taking into account their size, architecture and location in urban space. Muscovites will be able to take a fresh look at buildings familiar from childhood.

"Tsaritsyno"

All days of the festival, the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve will host a fountain show and light installations. The center of the program is the “Palace of Feelings” show, during which the Tsaritsyn Palace will become a canvas for video mapping. With the help of light projections and music, the building will come to life, and viewers will be invited to immerse themselves in its intended feelings and emotions. Every day, songs will be performed on the site by the Soprano art group of the Turetsky Choir, which has collected the entire range of female voices, from the lowest to the highest, and on September 24 the group will perform live. And on September 25, Dmitry Malikov will perform a classical program in Tsaritsyn. Lighting designers will create visual metaphors against the backdrop of the palace in real time while the pianist plays, which will help to understand classical music in a new way.

Stroginsky backwater

The festival of light will end on September 27 in Strogin: here you can see a 30-minute pyrotechnic show using Japanese fireworks, which have no analogues in the whole world. For the first time in Russia, a large pyrotechnic charge of 600 caliber will be used in the show.

On September 23 and 24 there will be lectures, discussions and master classes conducted by specialists in computer graphics, representatives of design studios, programmers, lighting engineers, architects, etc. In particular, on September 24, at a lecture about contemporary art“All Art Was Modern” will talk about how culture reflects our reality and changes in society, and the lecture “From Phantasmagoria to Sensory Reality” will talk about visual art, its history and development over the centuries. Venues of the festival “Circle of Light” 2017:

1. Ostankino Tower

The opening ceremony of the Circle of Light festival will take place in Ostankino. An incredible show is being prepared using lasers, light, fountain choreography and video projections, the height of which will reach 330 meters. With the help of all this, viewers will take a journey through the most beautiful places of our planet: from Lavender fields to the Sahara Desert. They will also see how the Ostankino Tower will be transformed into the Eiffel and other high-rise buildings around the world. The performance will be clearly visible from all sides. The show will be shown on September 23 and 24 at 20.00, duration - 40 minutes. At the end you will enjoy a 7-minute pyrotechnic show.

2. Theater Square

We will see interesting classics on the facades of the Bolshoi and Maly theaters, combined into one stage space. In cascades of light and visual effects on the walls historical buildings works of Russian classics will come to life: fragments from Chekhov, Ostrovsky and Gogol. Performances will take place every day at 7:30 p.m. Here you can also see the works of the finalists of the Artvision competition: architectural video mapping, 3D projections and new art directions.

3. Tsaritsyno

During the festival, it’s worth getting to Tsaritsyno. The facade will come to life with the help of light and music and tell the audience about their feelings. On Tsaritsynsky Pond there will be a show of dancing fountains to the accompaniment of musical works Russian composers. The park will feature incredible light sculptures created by designers from all over the world. The Soprano project will perform on September 24. Every day starts at 19.30.

4. Patriarch's Ponds

We will see an elegant synthesis of video and music on Patriarch's Ponds. VJs play here all days of the festival from 20.30 to 21.30. In real time, they will create unusual visual images under live show pianist And on September 25 there will be a piano concert by Dmitry Malikov.

5. Bronnaya Strogino

The largest show will be shown on the Stroginskaya floodplain on the closing day of the festival. Hundreds of pyrotechnic charges will be launched from barges placed on the water. 6. Concert Hall "Mir"

Competitions between light and music teams will be held in the Mir concert hall. Each participant will present a 10-minute set. Moscow International Festival "Circle of Light" - one of the largest and most popular festivals in Moscow, a grand festival of light, in which talented lighting designers and audiovisual art specialists from Russia and foreign countries compete in their skills, demonstrating large-scale light shows and unusual installations to the public.

Skillfully using video mapping techniques and modern multimedia technologies, masters transform the urban space and architectural appearance of Moscow's symbolic buildings, the facades of which become a screen for large-scale video projections.

Ostankino will become one of the main venues of the festival: this is where the opening ceremony will take place! With the help of video projection, light, lasers and fire, viewers will be shown an amazing multimedia show, the action of which will unfold both on the Ostankino Tower and on the water surface of the Ostankino Pond. Thanks to modern technologies festival visitors will be able to travel to different countries of the world and see their natural beauty: Niagara Falls, Yellow Stone Park and Bamboo Flute Caves, the sands of the Sahara, the Great Barrier Reef, Baikal, Mount Fuji, French lavender fields and other places.

And at the Ostankino Tower itself they will demonstrate light show on the theme of the tallest buildings in the world: in turn it will turn into the Eiffel Tower, New York's Empire State Building and Dubai's Burj Khalifa, as well as the television towers of Toronto, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney. The height of video projections will reach 330 meters!

Over several years of the Circle of Light festival, Teatralnaya Square has become its traditional venue, however, if usually the show was shown on the facade of the Bolshoi Theater, this time it will unite 2 buildings at once: the Bolshoi and Maly Theaters.

Taking into account the use of two facades at once, a unique light show was developed in which their interaction will become part of one story: the play “Celestial Mechanics” will tell the audience about love and loneliness, about the impossibility of existing alone, but at the same time - the impossibility of complete acceptance of one person by another . The charges of Japanese fireworks are much larger than usual, each shot is made manually, and the design is individual. They will open at an altitude of 500 meters, and the diameter of the light domes will be about 240 meters.
