It is convenient to make such a headdress on the road, on the beach, on a hike, when there are no conditions for sewing, and covering your head from the wind and sun is very important.

If there is suitable sheet thick paper (for example, whatman paper), we can say that the trick is in the bag. That is, we immediately begin drawing the drawing according to the head measurements and then - depending on the design. The main thing is that there is enough material for sufficiently wide margins and additional details.

Cardboard hats

Cardboard is a cheap and convenient material from which it is easy to construct almost any type of headdress. It is more practical than paper; it can be covered with fabric, fur, mesh or colored film, and painted.

Cardboard makes great hats for carnivals and parties. Cutting a cardboard headdress requires nothing more than attention and a good pattern.

Fabric hats

Panama hats, fedoras, felt and fur hats – the choice of varieties is quite large. You can cut a knitted hat if you don't know how or don't like to knit. The simplest option is the classic beret. It can be sewn from felt, leather, knitwear, tweed and even silk.

A strictly defined business hat requires attention to cut and precise measurements. But it can also be made from improvised means - update an old hat with a tight fit new fabric, add decorations to it - and now it’s unrecognizable!

If you have a child (especially if there is more than one), then every parent may face the following situation: an original carnival costume for a matinee is urgently needed! And the parents are in a panic, because often they don’t have extra money set aside for such one-time new clothes, but they still need a suit. And your baby will be sad if his group friends kindergarten or classmates will come in bright and cheerful costumes, and he alone will be deprived of this pleasure. Don't be discouraged if your child's wishes go beyond the range of stores and your budget.

In any case, the most original costume will only be homemade. And the highlight will be, of course, the hat!

Does your son want to be a hussar or a musketeer? The main “trick” of the image of a fencer-musketeer, of course, is an elegant hat with a feather and curved brim. It can be made from a piece of felt, cardboard or papier-mâché.

Wedding or evening headwear

The main thing is to start, and then your hand and eye will tell you how to cut and sew correctly. Understand your preferences, check the size of the person who will wear the hat - and go ahead!

Explore your stash of fabric, scraps, different decorative beads or unexpected details that can be placed as decoration on a hat. The combinations can be the most surprising. Hats with brooches and lace look very advantageous if used sparingly.

The most interesting hats, perhaps, can be seen at the famous Royal Horse Races. The event lasts five days, but society ladies dress up especially well on the third day. Its cost is six thousand three hundred twenty dollars. That's what they paid for it at the Fieldings auction. The buyer paid sixty-two thousand dollars for a Charlie Chaplin hat. We are talking about the very hat that was part of him special image as a comedian, actor, director and screenwriter.

The Panama company deservedly enjoys success among wealthy buyers. Her products are stylish hats, characterized by lightness and extremely high price. Panama spends at least three months to make one headdress. The price varies from twenty-five to one hundred thousand dollars.

Princess Beatrice appeared at Prince William's wedding wearing a hat, which was later sold at one of the auctions (Ebay) for a record one hundred and thirty-three thousand eight hundred and seventy-three dollars.

Optima is a company specializing in the production of hats made from Ecuadorian straw. Many famous personalities prefer the products of this particular company and are willing to pay about twenty thousand dollars for each product.

A hat with the beautiful name “Deep Blue Sea” costs eight hundred and ninety thousand dollars. This is the price they paid for it at auction in 2010. This expensive headdress is made from unique felt materials from Australia and decorated with feathers. The cost was influenced by the fact that the hat is decorated with twenty-six opals from Lightning Ridge in a frame of silver and gold.

Louis Mariette is a designer who managed to create the most expensive hat in the world, worth two million seven hundred thousand dollars. This exclusive, bell-shaped, beautiful name- “Hat of Love.” The material used was fabric platinum, and the decoration was diamonds and amethysts. This designer product is not for sale, although the price for it has been determined.

Therefore, we will try to talk about five master hatters and hat lovers, each of whose creations causes delight, surprise and attention from the whole world!

So, we present to you some unusual hats, their bold designs are unlikely to fit into your everyday wardrobe. The most a large number of hats certainly pack a punch at the annual Royal Ascot races! According to etiquette, all spectators are required to wear hats. Every day ladies must come in a new hat, the most extravagant must be worn on Thursday, the so-called “Ladies’ Day”.
