The most unusual hat. funny hats

Today, hats of all styles are back in fashion. But what if you can’t find the right model to suit your taste? There is a solution - we will tell you how to make a hat at home with your own hands.

Use our tips - and you will be provided with hats for your wardrobe, holiday celebration, masquerade, party and even wedding! The process itself is very simple and exciting.

Ideas for hats and materials from which they can be made

Making hats from scrap materials and art materials is a very exciting creative process that will give you great pleasure also on the result. Everything can work out for you if you carefully decide on the choice of style and design!

Firstly, you should choose high-quality and optimal material. And the highlight of any headdress will always be additional element. This can be a fringe sewn along the edge, a ribbon edging, lace, appliques, beads and pearls, buttons, artificial flowers and even small birds, metal figurines, toys, and decorative fittings.

Paper hats

Paper products will require material of different densities and suitable color. It is better to choose large-format paper, especially if you plan to create a large, voluminous hat - for example, a Panama hat. This product can be disposable if you do not plan to wear it for more than a few days. It is convenient to make such a headdress on the road, on the beach, on a hike, when there are no conditions for sewing, and covering your head from the wind and sun is very important.

If there is suitable sheet thick paper (for example, whatman paper), we can say that the trick is in the bag. That is, we immediately begin drawing the drawing according to the head measurements and then - depending on the design. The main thing is that there is enough material for sufficiently wide margins and additional details.

Cardboard hats

Cardboard is a cheap and convenient material from which it is easy to construct almost any type of headdress. It is more practical than paper; it can be covered with fabric, fur, mesh or colored film, and painted.

Cardboard makes great hats for carnivals and parties. Cutting a cardboard headdress requires nothing more than attention and a good pattern.

Fabric hats

Panama hats, fedoras, felt and fur hats – the choice of varieties is quite large. You can cut a knitted hat if you don't know how or don't like to knit. The simplest option is the classic beret. It can be sewn from felt, leather, knitwear, tweed and even silk.

A strictly defined business hat requires attention to cut and precise measurements. But it can also be made from improvised means - update an old hat with a tight fit new fabric, add decorations to it - and now it’s unrecognizable!

You can also make a winter hat with protective “ears” from fabric, and this does not have to be earflaps. A classic women's hat may have spare compartments with warming flaps.

Types of hats

At the peak of popularity today is the fedora hat. It's soft Felt hat with wide brim, which goes well with coats and dresses, sunglasses, gives elegance even to girls in jeans! Sewing such a model yourself is as easy as shelling pears.

Carnival hats

Carnival, party, happening, flash mob, corporate evening or Halloween are days when you can have a lot of fun and surprise everyone with your unusual look.

A carnival classic is the witch's hat with a huge brim and a high, pointed crown. Take cardboard or a frame onto which you stretch black fabric with a veil - the image of the witch is ready! You can also dress up as a fairy or dryad by decorating your regular hat with artificial leaves, flowers, fruits or other natural symbols.

What about the male gender? The image of the dashing Jack Sparrow, the famous pirate captain from Hollywood films. IN in this case it's simple. Jack's typical headdress is a bandana with beads, to which various intricate "amulets" made of pebbles and "gems" can be sewn or fastened.

Another option is the cocked hat of a 17th century pirate. Fold the plastic cardboard accordingly, fasten the margins with a stapler or needle and thread, glue on a feather or brooch - in front of you is a detail of the toilet of not only a pirate, but also Baron Munchausen

Don't forget also about papier-mâché animal masks and Venetian images!

Children's hats

If you have a child (especially if there is more than one), then every parent may face the following situation: an original carnival costume for a matinee is urgently needed! And the parents are in a panic, because often they don’t have extra money set aside for such one-time new clothes, but they still need a suit. And your baby will be sad if his group friends kindergarten or classmates will come in bright and cheerful costumes, and he alone will be deprived of this pleasure. Don't be discouraged if your child's wishes go beyond the range of stores and your budget.

In any case, the most original costume will only be homemade. And the highlight will be, of course, the hat!

Does your son want to be a hussar or a musketeer? The main “trick” of the image of a fencer-musketeer, of course, is an elegant hat with a feather and curved brim. It can be made from a piece of felt, cardboard or papier-mâché.

Feather - artificial or natural, which is found in the house. It can be painted in unusual color to match the suit - a musketeer's cape. And for a hussar, you can build a simple and comfortable shako with a visor made of cardboard, covered with fabric. Don’t forget to attach “regalia” to the hussar’s hat - a twisted braid with a tassel, a plait with fur imitating a sultan. The little hussar will hit the girls at the ball in the heart!

For a girl, there are many more options - from the crown of a little princess or a fairy-tale princess to a witch in a huge wide-brimmed hat.

Wedding or evening headwear

Wedding celebrations are the day when the bride receives maximum attention. Only the sparkle of loving eyes and the presence of a bride can make her the most beautiful and elegant in the world. good taste, however, an unusual hat can serve as an additional factor!

The modern bride prefers small, compact, symbolic hats that give the impression of a hairpin or brooch. This format is convenient in its miniature size and perfectly highlights the makeup, dress, and beauty of the bride herself. Making such a miniature hairpin hat is very easy. Make a small analogue of a small hat from cardboard, cover it with white fabric, add beads, pearls, rhinestones or artificial (or even natural!) flowers. This will be a unique piece!

For an evening celebration, to the theatre, or opera, you can wear a pillbox hat. This is a simple and very beautiful option that goes well with an evening dress or suit.

Men's hats

A classic Stetson on your head, an umbrella-cane and a tweed suit - and a real movie hero leads you by the arm. To make your own Stetson, you will have to master working with felt, but there are always analogues that will be useful to your friend, husband or boyfriend.

A sophisticated and sophisticated top hat, handcrafted from quality materials, makes a very inspiring gift for a spouse, lover, friend or colleague. Indeed, is it possible to find a similar gift so simply and easily somewhere else? This is a real return to the 19th century, which would be appropriate at a classical ball, in the theater, at a masquerade, and some wear such hats every day - for example, supporters of the steampunk style.

Panama hats

Summer season, vacation or heat is covering the city - in all these cases a nice Panama hat is definitely required. It will protect against harmful ultraviolet rays and help prevent dry hair (which, among other things, fades in the sun). A Panama hat can be made from straw or knitted or crocheted. Sewing from fabric is possible from leftovers from other products. Let's say you have cut out a new sundress for yourself for the summer, but the fabric remains. Make a scarf, Panama hat or bandana out of it - and the whole set is ready.

How to make a stylish hat with your own hands

If you have a creative impulse and you are ready to make a hat, do not be afraid of experiments and first trial options with mistakes and miscalculations. The main thing is to start, and then your hand and eye will tell you how to cut and sew correctly. Understand your preferences, check the size of the person who will wear the hat - and go ahead!

Explore your stash of fabric, scraps, different decorative beads or unexpected details that can be placed as decoration on a hat. The combinations can be the most surprising. A huge selection of decorative fittings is now on sale. Use ribbons to decorate the crown, use contrast stitching on a machine - it’s very beautiful! Hats with brooches and lace look very advantageous if used sparingly.

You must be able to wear a headdress - boldly, confidently, in the appropriate environment, and then it will delight you and those around you with its individuality and beauty.

We hope that our ideas and suggestions will help you diversify your wardrobe and add some zest to it with the help of an elegant and unique hat.

If you want to further improve your hat-making skills, then there are numerous shops with handicraft supplies at your service. In them you can buy the most different materials according to texture and composition, patterns and draw mass interesting ideas by design. Also, don’t deny yourself the pleasure of leafing through an extra issue of a fashion magazine – fashion designers often pleasantly surprise you by offering very fresh and original styles.

Among headwear, hats occupy an important place. For example, it is not customary to show up at the races without them. Hats can be truly enormous in size. The most expensive hats in the world are known.

The biggest hats

Hats can radically change appearance people, especially huge hats. This accessory is worn carefully, because it does not go with everything.

Large hats were in fashion in the eighties of the last century. We are talking about the so-called Buffalo style. Women wore wide skirts with similar hats, and men wore baggy trousers and wide jackets.

The largest edible hat is known. It was prepared in Kyiv in honor of the opening of an art restaurant called “Shlyapa”. The diameter of this edible hat was one hundred twenty-three centimeters, a height of fifty centimeters and a weight of fifty kilograms.

Interesting case happened in Germany. The world's largest hat, made from one thousand eggs, was stolen from Mr. De Silva. This theft is one of the strangest thefts in the world. Hats of amazing shapes and various colors can be seen in a huge number only at the races. This is the dress code for this event. The imagination of designers working to create racing hats knows no bounds. It should be noted that only women flaunt extravagant headdresses; often men also appear at the races in interesting and colorful hats.

The most interesting hats, perhaps, can be seen at the famous Royal Horse Races. The event lasts five days, but society ladies dress up especially well on the third day. It is then that the most interesting hats adorn the heads of visitors. What is not there - these are hats in the form of a jug, in the form of a sunflower, a stadium, in the form of a horse's head, pink flamingo, black swan, leaning tower of Pisa and so on.

The most expensive hats

For many people, a hat is an expression of status. This statement is true, especially when it comes to one of the most expensive hats in the world.

The cost of a headdress is not always determined by the material used or the name of the designer. The price may be high due to former owner. An example of this is Michael Jackson's concert hat. Its cost is six thousand three hundred twenty dollars. That's what they paid for it at the Fieldings auction. The buyer paid sixty-two thousand dollars for a Charlie Chaplin hat. We are talking about the very hat that was part of him special image as a comedian, actor, director and screenwriter.

The Panama company deservedly enjoys success among wealthy buyers. Her products are stylish hats, characterized by lightness and extremely high price. Panama spends at least three months to make one headdress. The price varies from twenty-five to one hundred thousand dollars.

Princess Beatrice appeared at Prince William's wedding wearing a hat, which was later sold at one of the auctions (Ebay) for a record one hundred and thirty-three thousand eight hundred and seventy-three dollars.

Optima is a company specializing in the production of hats made from Ecuadorian straw. Many famous personalities prefer the products of this particular company and are willing to pay about twenty thousand dollars for each product.

A hat with the beautiful name “Deep Blue Sea” costs eight hundred and ninety thousand dollars. This is the price they paid for it at auction in 2010. This expensive headdress is made from unique felt materials from Australia and decorated with feathers. The cost was influenced by the fact that the hat is decorated with twenty-six opals from Lightning Ridge in a frame of silver and gold.

Louis Mariette is a designer who managed to create the most expensive hat in the world, worth two million seven hundred thousand dollars. This exclusive, bell-shaped, beautiful name- “Hat of Love.” The material used was fabric platinum, and the decoration was diamonds and amethysts. This designer product is not for sale, although the price for it has been determined.

There are also other expensive accessories, such as a pacifier encrusted with diamonds. There is a site on the site about this pacifier and others expensive things.

This is her highlight screen image leaves no one indifferent, and Katya’s provocative questions sometimes force stars to throw microphones, shoes, call security... Everyone will recognize this magnificent girl.

Katya Osadchaya has long justified her title as the most stylish TV presenter: not a single appearance of hers has gone unnoticed for eight years. One can only envy such self-confidence and the ability to hold on, even when there is some unimaginable design on the head.

The number of hats is now difficult to count: the presenter is constantly adding new items to her collection of hats. She brings them from Italy, Paris, Cannes, Venice, and even buys some at flea markets, and some are given to her as gifts from designers, sewn to order or rented. Osadchaya popularized hat fashion in Ukraine, and now ladies are much more willing to wear hats at social events.

A whole team works on the image of the presenter: makeup, hairstyle, accessories are selected, but essential attribute going out – hat. What Katya didn’t put on her charming head! Perhaps the most discussed in Internet publications was Katya's crow hat. Osadchaya's appearance at the prestigious Royal Horse Races in England (2009) simply stunned European aristocrats and the world press. The author of this incredible masterpiece is Ukrainian designer Larisa Lobanova. The first to react to the hat of the charming Ukrainian presenter was the master of hat fashion, the legendary English hat designer Stephen Jones. Following him, the British newspaper Daily Telegraph named Osadchaya's hat one of the most stylish hats. The Daily Express, Daily Mail, The Guardian, and The Mirror also wrote about the stylish crow on the presenter’s head.

And in 2011, at the same Royal Races, Katya appeared in a hat with a yacht.

Ladies always strive to decorate their appearance with exclusive accessories! – this is an area that gives designers a lot of room for imagination! The most unusual hats, of course, cannot be seen on the streets of a metropolis. But on the red carpet and various famous events, throughout the history of the hat, so many incredible designs of this accessory have been seen that it is impossible to include them all in the TOP 5. Therefore, we will try to talk about five master hatters and hat lovers, each of whose creations causes delight, surprise and attention from the whole world!

So, we present to you some unusual hats, their bold designs are unlikely to fit into your everyday wardrobe. The most a large number of hats certainly pack a punch at the annual Royal Ascot races! According to etiquette, all spectators are required to wear hats. Every day ladies must come in a new hat, the most extravagant must be worn on Thursday, the so-called “Ladies’ Day”.

They are not distinguished by a variety of shapes; their dress code ascribes to a constant top hat, which gentlemen decorate in different ways. Cool, which has just finished release in the UK, features a variety of designers. All participants in the event tried to look as elegant and, at the same time, bold as possible. They certainly succeeded!

David Schilling opens our top five. A true Briton, designer and hatmaker. Motifs of flora and fauna permeate almost every product. Some hats can hardly even be called such, since David does not hesitate to place even a parrot with outstretched wings on the pretty head of his young ladies, or to wrap his own head grapevines. We are especially fascinated by his creation, which he brought to light during the Royal Askot races: the designer decorated a strict top hat with bright, beautiful cherries and a pair of dessert spoons! Such a gourmet note on an elegant cylinder left not a single horse racing guest indifferent, and we just wanted to pick a berry!

We will give second place to the singer Lady Gaga and her incredible hat from designer Nagi Noda, who surprised the world with her unusual designs from long hair right on the heads of their owners. For Lady Gaga, Noda made a hat that looked like a large button covered with hair. It was not difficult for the outrageous performer to tastefully choose a costume for such an unusual headdress and, as always, cause a sensation with her appearance!

Designer Isabelle Christensen also surprises with her stunning headdresses at the races year after year. In 2009, she was seen wearing a table-shaped hat on her head with a plate of dessert on it. In general, the designer prefers floral motifs; on her head every now and then you can find a huge rose, peony, or even a bouquet of lilacs. She chooses beautiful and spectacular hats, which perfectly highlight Isabelle’s bright appearance! Worth learning!

Although Edward Claridge is not a designer, he undoubtedly deserves second place in our TOP for his creativity. Mrs. Claridge is older, but she boldly chooses some of the most unusual hats for going out! On her head was a hat in the shape of a flower bed of delphiniums and hydrangeas, and a huge red hat in the shape of a pretzel. But we were especially struck by a hat at least 1 meter long, which looked like a roll of cut brocade Pink colour, tied with a wide ribbon. Yes, what lengths you will go to for a spectacular exit!

And, of course, our top five is rounded off, invariably in first place, by Philip Treacy - the most famous designer hats in the world, his hats are exhibited in museums, they are chosen by members of royal families and Hollywood stars. In his collections you can see hats of almost any unimaginable shape: checks, lush waves, smiley faces, telephones, lampshades, peacock tails. However, one of his last creations, which shook the whole world by ear, is quite extraordinary, but when you look at it, you understand how high Tracy’s flight of thought is, which ordinary cute little things perform in unusual forms. You've probably seen this hat on the head of Princess Beatrice of York during the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. This “bow” was on all the tabloids, in all the news and simply shook up the Internet community!

Everyone can stand out from others with the help of various accessories, the main thing is to wear them with confidence, good mood and sparkle in your eyes! We are inspired by hats! Which hat will you decide on?
