Troepolsky constantly arranges meetings between the dog and bad people, must introduce discord into the narrative. Of course, the author plays on the reader’s feelings, showing him quarrelsome women, enterprising leaders and cruel humanoid creatures: in abundance all around us. The desire to be angry arises involuntarily.
The world is not full of bad things - there is room for good people, overly virtuous and reckless, poorly aware of their actions. They are ready to praise Bim and take care of him, trying to keep the dog with them. Troepolsky overloads the narrative with extremes. And Bim... Bim continues to look for the owner and goes around all the places where he has been with him before.
The author allows the reader to see the world through the eyes of a dog. Is this how the dog really understands what is happening around him? Does she really look at the world so flatly and focus strictly on the actions of others that she understands? It's hard to judge. Only a specialist in Scottish setters can firmly say about this, but he will not be completely right, since there is no similar friends on each other dogs, like people, like any other animals in general. Therefore, it remains to accept Bim in the form described by Troepolsky - there is no other choice.
Bim turned out to be an ideal and completely devoted creature. He is well-behaved and internally does not accept violence. He turned out to be a refined dog: too soft to survive on his own. Bim's bones are brittle, internal organs easily torn, he himself is too straightforward. Something is wrong with this dog. Perhaps Bim lacks intelligence, or maybe he was really doomed, having degenerated into an ideal servant of his master, and will be obliged to die, like a dryad withers away without a tree.

Ivan Ivanovich, having undergone treatment, finds out the address and with hope urgently goes to the shelter where Bim was sent after the capture. Unfortunately, by that time the dog had already been killed due to the slander of an evil neighbor. The owner comes to the forest where he often walked with Bim, and in memory of him shoots in the air four times: for each year of the dog’s life. Ivan Ivanovich bitterly mourns his friend, recognizing his unshakable loyalty and perseverance.

Gavriil Nikolaevich Troepolsky was born on November 29, 1905 in the village of Novospasovka, Ternovsky district, Voronezh region.
