MAIN ORIENTATIONS OF THE CASE.

PROMINENT PROJECTIONS UNDER THE CUTANEOUS (TYPICALLY THE EDGES OF BONES OR WHOLE BONES) ARE CALLED BONEY FEATURES. THEY HELP TO MEASURE BODY PROPORTIONS. THE LANDING POINTS PROVIDE IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR POSITIONING THE ENTIRE SKELETON, WHICH IS MOSTLY HIDDEN BY SOFT TISSUE OF THE BODY.

CONTRAPOST.

THIS TERM DESCRIBES THE FIGURE POSITION IN WHICH THE PELVIS AND LEGS ARE TURNED IN THE OPPOSITE SIDE FROM THE SHOULDERS AND HEAD; THUS, THE FIGURE BENDS ALONG ITS VERTICAL AXIS. THIS FIGURE LOOKS CURVED AND REMEMBERS THE LATIN LETTER "S" ("SNAKE").

To create these stylish steel cats I needed a couple of bends, bolts, washers and wire. When I was sorting out my metal rubble, I saw several corners of steel pipe lying nearby. It reminded me of the graceful curve of a cat. That's how the idea came up with these miniature sculptures.

I bring full text report for those who will not be able to watch, but will read.

Arranged for myself New Year holidays- I spent a couple of weeks sculpting small art objects. The materials used were various small items purchased as scrap metal - wrenches, washers, bolts and all sorts of unidentified pieces of iron, even frozen drops of metal from welding.

Most of the art objects were given to relatives and friends as New Year and Christmas gifts, but he kept some copies for himself.

[December 28, 2018]

This video is a master class on creating a gopher sculpture. I tried to make small, daily video reports about the work done on the sculpture. Then I merged all the videos into one.

I show the whole process with numerous errors and their correction, technical discoveries and routine work.

[December 24, 2018]

Before making the first sculpture of the musician, I tried to make a smaller copy of it - Miniature sculpture “Saxophonist”.

Now that the three planned sculptures had already been made, the customer asked to make smaller copies of them. The result was three more miniature wire sculptures.

A short review the literature on anatomy that I have in the form of “analogue” books with comments on their usefulness for the sculptor.
To create sculptures with a reliable anatomical part, everyone who strives for perfection must have at least the minimum theoretical knowledge in the anatomy of those creatures that serve as prototypes for work and for this (although of course not only for this) are different smart people have written many books.
1. "Human Anatomy" in two volumes, ed. M.R. Sapina, Moscow "Medicine" 1993.

For the sculptor, the first volume is of interest, which contains sections: Osteology (about bones), Arthrology (about the connection of bones), Myology (about muscles) and partially Splanchnology (about internal organs). In the second volume, the only thing of interest is the Angiology section (about vessels).
The books have a lot of text and quite a lot (in fact, of course not enough) color illustrations.
In essence, this two-volume book is a textbook for medical educational institutions and is quite difficult for an unprepared person to understand (a lot of Latin, special terms), but if you master it, then the rest of the literature will be perceived much easier.

2. "Atlas of Human Anatomy" in four volumes, seventh edition, Moscow, New wave 2016. These works are known in the circles of interested people as “Anatomy of Sinelnikov”, because. Several generations of people under this name worked on them.
I only have the first volume, which contains the sections: Osteology, Arthrology and Myology:

Atlas is also recommended as tutorial for students medical universities, but unlike the two-volume book presented above, it is much easier to perceive (although perhaps this is subjective, because by the time I got this book, I had already read the previous one a couple of times).
The book contains enough text and many illustrations; images of the skeleton with places of muscle attachment are of particular value (from my point of view).
This work is the king of anatomy and judging by the fact that it has been translated into many foreign languages, then not only for us.

3. “Your body”, Blandine Calais-Germain, Moscow, Astrel Publishing House, 2008.

The book on the anatomy of movement was intended by the author for those who are interested in HOW parts of the body move relative to each other and what muscles help them with this.
There is little text in the book; in fact, there are only explanations for the illustrations, but there are heaps of illustrations.
Interesting book in which those aspects of anatomy are considered that are outside the interests of orthodox anatomical science.

4. "Anatomy for Artists", Barrington Barber, Moscow, "Eksmo", 2017.

The book is written and illustrated by the author, it is very easy to understand, it’s perfect for beginners, there is not a lot of information, but the most basic information is available, human proportions (M and F), something about children and the structure of the musculoskeletal system.
In addition, its undeniable advantage is the price, which is an order of magnitude lower than Sinelnikov.

5. “The Image of Man”, Gottfried Bammes, Deaton LLC, 2012.

The book is controversial, the illustrative material is excellent, there are many photographs of live models, illustrations made by the author and images different works art, but the text material is something, while I was reading, 2.5 liters of blood flowed out of my eyes, it seems that the book was translated by an auto translator, and then edited by a Martian
In addition to the analysis of the musculoskeletal system, the book provides a good description of the proportions of men, women and children of different ages
IN general book very good, but only the explanations to the photographs are worth reading.

6. “Image of Animals”, Gottfried Bammes, Deaton LLC, 2011.
