List of Olympiads that medical universities accept. Regional rounds of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren begin

He told SO correspondent Ekaterina Ermakova about why you need to participate in Olympiads and how this affects admission to a university.

System of admission to universities through Olympiads

Many schoolchildren and parents think that in order to enter leading universities, they must get about a hundred points on the Unified State Exam. However, it is not. The best strategy is active participation in the so-called list Olympiads, the diplomas of which provide a competitive advantage over other applicants in the form of very significant benefits.

The listed Olympiads include “Conquer the Sparrow Hills!”, “Lomonosov”, “Highest Standard”, “Phystech”, “Rosatom”, OMMO and many others. All of them are included in the List of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, which is approved at the beginning of each academic year and published on the website of the Russian Council of School Olympiads http://rsr-olymp.ru.

A diploma from a listed Olympiad provides one of three possible benefits:

  • admission without exams;
  • the maximum score on the entrance exam in a given subject (for example, 100 points on the additional entrance test (ADT) at Moscow State University);
  • 100 points towards the Unified State Examination in this subject.

Exactly what benefit will be provided depends on the level of the Olympiad (it can be first, second and third; the level of each Olympiad is indicated in the list), as well as on the degree of the diploma received at this Olympiad (there are also three degrees: first, second and third) .

Each university determines the benefits provided and publishes them on its website. Examples of benefits from the past academic year: MIPT, Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University.

Until the current academic year, benefits were given exclusively according to the levels of the Olympiads, and were not tied to the Olympiads of a particular university. If, say, you had a second-degree diploma from a first-level Olympiad, then you had to look at what benefits a second-degree diploma from a first-level Olympiad provided at each specific university.

However, in the current academic year the situation is changing: universities have the right to create their own lists of Olympiads for which benefits will be provided. At the same time, the previous right to provide benefits according to the levels of the Olympiads is retained. Each university will act at its own discretion, and it is difficult to say exactly what this will mean for applicants now.

I can give only one piece of advice: participate in as many Olympiads as possible and pay special attention to preparing for the Olympiad of the university where you are going to enter (after all, the university, of course, will not exclude its own Olympiad from its list).

Of course, you also need to pass the Unified State Exam well. In order to receive benefits for the Olympiad, in the current academic year you need to pass the Unified State Examination in the relevant subject with at least 75 points (last year the confirmation threshold at MIPT or Moscow State University was 65 points, and at HSE - 75). However, schoolchildren who have undergone extensive Olympiad training overcome this threshold without any difficulties.

Why are the Olympics so important?

Here are some numbers. When entering most MIPT specialties, the results of the Unified State Examination in three subjects are taken into account: mathematics, physics, and Russian language. In total, this is a maximum of 300. Plus 10 points for individual achievements (medal, GTO, essay, etc.). The total maximum is 310. The cutoff this year was made at around 282 points. That is, the average score on all three Unified State Exams must be above 90. It is very, very difficult to get such results on the Unified State Exam.

This year, six of my students entered MIPT. All of them had diplomas from some kind of Olympiad and easily passed the required threshold of 65 points on the Unified State Exam. Moreover, not all of them received 90 points or higher on the Unified State Examination, but this no longer played any role: having crossed the threshold, they automatically received a hundred points at MIPT in the subject in which they had an Olympiad diploma.

Therefore, here is the optimal path for a Phystech applicant: an Olympiad diploma in mathematics, an Olympiad diploma in physics (this is already 200 points) plus the Unified State Examination in Russian around 85. And everything will be fine.

Is it really more difficult to pass the Unified State Exam with 90 points than to win a diploma at the Olympiad?

The Unified State Exam is an extremely unpleasant event that requires speed and error-free work. During the 4 hours of the exam, you need to complete two to three dozen tasks. At the same time, practice shows that even a very smart and prepared child will definitely make a mistake somewhere (due to inattention or in calculations). Plus extraneous factors: nerves, stress, heat, stuffiness, they were seated on the sunny side, they got an uncomfortable table or chair, they didn’t get enough sleep at night, a jackhammer started working outside... In general, there are more than enough opportunities to lose points.

Let us now take for comparison the Phystech Olympiad (as one of the most popular, with a large number of winners). At the Mathematics Olympiad, 7 problems are given for 4 hours, each problem is “worth” a certain number of points, the total amount is 50 points. At the Physics Olympiad (for the same 4 hours), 5 problems are given, each worth 10 points, and in total we also have 50 points. Now, attention: this year’s prize winning started with 35 points in physics and 25 points in mathematics.
As you can see, in order to receive a Physics and Technology diploma (and with it 100 points in the subject), you do not need to solve all the problems one hundred percent correctly. Intermediate results are possible: say, for a 10-point task you can get 3 points or 7 points by making some mistakes. If a child makes a mistake in the test part of the Unified State Exam, he receives a guaranteed zero for the task.
If we draw a conditional parallel with the entrance exams that parents remember, then the current third-degree diploma at the Phystech Olympiad is approximately the level of a four in the previous written exam at MIPT. Getting such a B (and with it 100 points) is now much easier than showing a result of 90+ on the Unified State Exam.

How many medalists can there be at the Olympics?

About 20% of participants, and this could be several hundred people. It is important to understand the difference between the current Olympiad system and previous entrance exams. Previously, in order to enter a university, a person was required to pass all entrance exams at this particular university. So, if you wanted to enroll, for example, in the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University, you had to prepare for the entrance exams specifically for the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. If at the same time you are excellent at solving problems in physics and technology, then this would not help you in any way at mechanical and mechanical engineering.

Now you can win the Olympiad at University X and receive corresponding benefits when entering University Y, with the proviso this year that the Olympiad at University X will be included in the preferential list of Olympiads at University Y.

Let's give an abstract example. Let it be the old days and the era of entrance exams. Let's assume that I got an A in physics and a D in mathematics at MIPT - I did not get into MIPT. I went to the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University, got an A in mathematics and a D in physics - I didn’t get into the Mechanics and Mathematics Department either. Nowadays, my A in physics at MIPT turns into a diploma from the Phystech Olympiad in physics, and an A in mathematics at the Mechanics and Mathematics Department turns into a diploma from the Lomonosov or Conquer the Sparrow Hills Olympiad! in mathematics, and with these two diplomas I have benefits for admission to both MIPT and Mechanics and Mathematics (again, with the additional assumption that MIPT and MSU will take into account each other’s Olympiad diplomas this year).

In addition to this advantage, there are a large number of different Olympiads, which differ in the specific tasks. Every student can find “his” Olympiad, where he will perform successfully. For example, one of my students was preparing to enter the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics (VMK) at Moscow State University. She did not have success with the specialized Olympiads either at Moscow State University or at the Physics and Technology Institute. But she managed to take a diploma at the “Highest Test” (this is the Olympiad of the Higher School of Economics), due to which she received 100 points for the DVI in mathematics at the VMC.

The most correct way to the best universities is through the Olympiads. It makes no sense for a developed and interested schoolchild to prepare for the Unified State Exam alone; he should also prepare for olympiads in mathematics and physics and actively participate in them.

Applicants to leading universities (MIPT, HSE, MSU, Bauman MSTU, MEPhI) must take part in:

  • in the All-Russian Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Mathematics and Physics (at least in the school and municipal stages, it is highly desirable to go to the regional stage, and very well - to the final stage);
  • in the RSOSH Olympiads (also called list ones), which are included in the annual List of RSOSH (Russian Council of School Olympiads).

Having a diploma from a listed Olympiad (not to mention the All-Russian Olympiad), you will provide yourself with significant benefits when entering a university and will receive a serious competitive advantage over other applicants.

The side menu on the right includes a list of the main list of Olympiads, the final stages of which are held in Moscow. The following also lists the levels of the Olympiads and links to their official websites.

Along with the information presented on this page, you can also read my speech at the Summer School for Mathematics Teachers (VMK MSU, 08/25/17), dedicated to the Olympiads.

All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren

The All-Russian competition is held in four stages: school, municipal, regional and final (final). At each stage, winners and runners-up are determined (based on the number of points scored). Passing points for the next stage are also established; in Moscow, for example, you can become a winner at the regional stage and still not make it to the finals.

The school and municipal stages are of no interest: a sufficiently prepared student should become a prize-winner of the second stage, and, of course, no benefits are provided here.

Winners and prize-winners of the regional stage also do not have any special benefits upon admission - except perhaps a few points at MIPT or HSE, taking into account individual achievements. However, winning a medal “at the region” is an indicator of a good level, it inspires and raises self-esteem; and at the interview at MIPT they will look at you as a generally decent person ;-)

Only the winners and runners-up of the finals have the benefit, and it is maximum - BVI, that is, admission without entrance examinations (out of competition) to any university in a field that corresponds to the profile of the Olympiad.

Listed Olympiads: levels, diplomas, benefits

At the list Olympiad you can receive a diploma of 1st degree, 2nd degree or 3rd degree. Holders of first degree diplomas are called winners of the Olympiad; holders of diplomas of II and III degrees are called prize-winners. To win the Olympics (as they say in folklore) means to be among its winners or prize-winners, that is, to receive a diploma.

Each Olympiad has a certain level: first, second or third. The levels of the Olympiads are recorded in the List. The higher the level of the Olympiad, the more significant benefits its winners and prize-winners have. The level of a particular Olympiad is not directly related to the difficulty of winning it (and what exactly it is related to is a delicate matter) and can change from year to year.

There are three types of benefits provided by universities:

  • BVI (“without entrance examinations”) - non-competitive admission by a separate order issued before the orders for admission by competition in the first and second waves (in other words, all BVI students who submitted documents will be enrolled first, and the remaining budget places will be applied for by the remaining applicants, ranked by decreasing the amount of their competitive points in their major subjects);
  • counting 100 points for the DVI (additional entrance test at Moscow State University, for example);
  • counting 100 points in the subject instead of the Unified State Examination result.

Benefits for the current academic year are announced by universities around October 1. The type of benefit may depend on the level of the Olympiad and the degree of diploma received at it. Universities decide for themselves what benefits to provide. Each university has its own specifics; see examples of university benefits in 2018/19 - MIPT, HSE, Moscow State University.

If a benefit is formulated for an Olympiad at a given level (without specifying specific Olympiads), then it applies to all Olympiads at a given level. Let, for example, you have a diploma from the Phystech Olympiad in physics (which has the 1st level), and at the same time you enroll in the Computational Mathematics and Computing Center of Moscow State University. Among the benefits of this faculty we see: winners and prize-winners of the 1st level Physics Olympiad receive 100 points towards the Unified State Examination in Physics. Despite the fact that you have a diploma from the MIPT Olympiad, you are given 100 points for the Unified State Exam in Physics at the VMC. In the same way, at MIPT you will be given 100 points in mathematics for a diploma not only from Physics and Technology, but also from a number of other Olympiads (for example, the Lomonosov Olympiads or Conquer the Sparrow Hills!, which are held at Moscow State University).

At the same time, universities are allowed to establish their own list of Olympiads for which benefits are provided to applicants. MIPT and HSE use this opportunity, MSU almost not.

The holder of an Olympiad diploma can receive benefits upon admission for four years following the year of the Olympiad. This means that diplomas received starting from the 7th grade are valuable for the applicant. However, the university has the right to specify for which classes a diploma must be obtained in order for the benefit to be granted. As a rule, benefits are provided for diplomas for grade 11.

To receive benefits for listed Olympiads, a student must not yet fail the Unified State Exam. Currently, the threshold Unified State Examination score for confirming benefits is 75 points.

Why do you need to prepare for the Olympics?

Serious preparation for the Olympiads and active participation in them is much more important and useful than regular preparation for the Unified State Exam. There are a number of reasons to focus specifically on the Olympiads.

  • Preparing for the Olympiads means an in-depth study of mathematics and physics, plus constant practice in solving complex and non-standard problems. Such activities develop intelligence and create a good basis for further study at a university. Experience shows that students from MIPT, MSU or HSE, who at one time only prepared for the Unified State Exam, begin to experience problems in mathematics and physics in the first semester; at the same time, those guys who actively participated in the Olympiads (albeit unsuccessfully) subsequently learn university material much more easily. In this regard, the results of a study of the academic performance of university students published by the Russian Union of Rectors are interesting. The main conclusion of this study is: only those who entered as Olympiad laureates demonstrate a steady tendency towards an increase in academic performance at a level above average.
  • By preparing for the Olympiads, you automatically receive comprehensive preparation for the Unified State Exam, and at a much higher level. Some problems of the Olympiads “Phystech”, “Lomonosov”, “Conquer Sparrow Hills” resemble the tasks of the Unified State Exam in appearance, but at the same time they are more meaningful and difficult. Even if you fail to win any of the Olympiads, you will come to the Unified State Exam calmly, without trembling in your knees - after all, you will have experience in solving much more complex problems. And peace of mind, coupled with accumulated skills, will provide you with a competitive advantage on the Unified State Exam and give you the opportunity to get the highest possible score.
  • An Olympiad diploma will provide you with the admission benefits described above (that is, at least 100 points towards the Unified State Examination). At the same time, becoming an Olympiad winner is a much more realistic task than getting the same 100 points on the Unified State Examination itself (dispassionate statistics: there are an order of magnitude fewer 100-point Unified State Examination scorers than there are Olympiad winners and prize-winners). Therefore, if your potential Unified State Examination level is at least 80 points, then you have a good chance of winning some kind of Olympiad and adding 100 points to your Unified State Examination in this subject.
  • There are several Olympics; If it didn’t work out at one Olympiad, maybe it will work out at another or a third. At the same time, the Unified State Exam is taken only once, and ridiculous mistakes on the Unified State Exam, from which no one is immune, can simply cross out your destiny.
  • It may happen (for example, in some specialties at MIPT or the Higher School of Economics) that presenting USE results alone will be pointless - there will be more holders of Olympiad diplomas who have submitted documents than there are budget places, so all the places will go to Olympiad participants.
  • Entrance exams are dead, but their work lives on. The “Lomonosov” and “Conquer the Sparrow Hills” Olympiads, in their content, continue the traditions of entrance exams for mechanical mathematics, computer science and physics at Moscow State University (which existed before the era of the Unified State Exam). Likewise, the Phystech Olympiad inherited the spirit and specificity of the previous entrance exams at MIPT. Accordingly, there is a wealth of methodological materials for preparation, and in general it is clear how and what one should prepare for (this applies to the greatest extent to the Phystech Olympiad).

Having successfully performed at the Olympiad, you can earn advantages when entering universities - from extra points to admission without exams. Which Olympiads provide benefits and who sets the rules? We understand the official documents and tell you how to properly use your diploma.

What are the benefits when applying to universities?

The most significant benefit for Olympiad participants is enrollment without entrance tests. All you need to do is bring your certificate and diploma to the university, and your student ID is already in your pocket. The second advantage is the maximum score for the Unified State Exam. You show your Olympiad diploma, and the selection committee counts 100 points instead of the corresponding Unified State Examination. The main thing to remember is that this will not work at school - you will still have to take a unified exam. Sometimes universities conduct an additional entrance test (ADT) for applicants. This year only 6 universities can do this. In them, Olympiad participants can receive the “maximum score for DVI” benefit for their diploma; however, they do not need to take the exam itself.

Which Olympiads provide benefits?

You can receive benefits when entering universities by becoming a winner or prize-winner of the finals of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, as well as Olympiads from the List of the Ministry of Education and Science. Russia hosts many other interesting Olympiads and competitions. They do not provide significant benefits upon admission, but the university can add from 1 to 10 points for diplomas from such competitions. Including additional points (and only these) can be obtained for success in the first three stages of the All-Russian Federation and the qualifying rounds of the listed Olympiads. Winners or prize-winners of the final stage have the right to admission without exams to any university in a specialized field. At the same time, the correspondence between the direction and profile of the Olympiad is determined by the university itself.

About the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren

Olympics All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren The final stage takes place in March-April

The Russian Intellectual Championship is for everyone. Conducted in 24 subjects in four stages for grades 4-11

Mathematics Computer Science and 22 other subjects

So, with an All-Russian finals diploma in physics, any physics department, and even some mathematics departments, awaits you. For example, the Mechanics and Mathematics University of Moscow State University accepts diplomas in physics and computer science in addition to mathematicians. So, carefully study the websites of universities and look for directions close to your subject. If the winner or prize-winner of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren chooses an educational program not in the relevant field, then, by decision of the university, he can receive 100 points instead of the Unified State Examination result in the relevant subject. For the winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, the right to benefits remains for 4 years. There is no need to confirm the result with a Unified State Exam score.

Every year, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation approves the List of Olympiads for schoolchildren, the winners of which receive benefits when entering universities. The List also indicates the levels of Olympiads - from first for the most difficult Olympiads, to third for those that are simpler. Each university has the right to approve its own shortened list of Olympiads that provide benefits, and leave without benefits the winners and prize-winners of other Olympiads included in the List of the Ministry of Education and Science. The university also determines what kind of benefits to give to the winners and runners-up of the Olympiad, depending on its level. The right to the benefit can be used for 4 years, as in the case of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren. But for Olympiads from the List, each university can decide for itself in which class a diploma should be obtained in order to provide benefits. Many universities will only accept diplomas received during their graduating class. More information about the university's requirements can be found in the admission rules published on its official website. Be sure to read them, despite the complex bureaucratic language that evokes boredom and the desire to stop reading immediately. Universities must publish all information about benefits before October 1 of the year preceding admission.

Confirmation of diplomas with Unified State Examination scores

To use the benefit, winners and prize-winners of listed Olympiads must confirm their results by scoring a certain number of points on the Unified State Exam in the relevant subject. As a general rule, it is no less than 75, but a university can set a higher “bar.” In order to take advantage of the “maximum score for the entrance test” benefit, you need to “confirm” the Olympiad with a Unified State Exam score in the subject of this entrance test. Winners and runners-up who enter without entrance examinations must score the required score on the Unified State Exam in one of the subjects that corresponds to the profile of the Olympiad, which one is decided by the university.

About diplomas for winners and prize-winners of Olympiads from the List

The originals of the Olympiad diplomas from the List are issued by the organizers. Also, winners and runners-up can print an electronic copy of the diploma on the portal of the Russian Council of School Olympiads. Copies are equivalent to the original. If an error is found in the data printed on the diploma, immediately notify the organizers of the Olympiad and wait until it is corrected.

Diplomas from one Olympiad will be accepted at several universities

For a diploma from one Olympiad from the List, you can get a discount at several universities at once. According to the general admission rules, an applicant can apply to five universities and in each of them no more than 3 areas of study. Accordingly, the “maximum Unified State Examination score” benefit can be used no more than 15 times. You can take advantage of the benefit of admission without entrance examinations only at one university and in one field of study. To do this, you will have to submit the original certificate along with your diploma. And by presenting diplomas from various Olympiads to the admissions committee, you can get maximum scores in several or even all entrance tests.

Since the Unified State Exam became mandatory 8 years ago, the procedure for entering a university seems transparent. The graduate passes the exam (the conditions are common to all schools in the country), and the amount of points scored allows him to fairly compete with other applicants. However, even after passing the exams with an absolute score of 100 points, you may not get into a prestigious university - all the places will already be taken by those who are “out of competition”. Today we will tell you a few secrets on how to become one of those who play by different rules.

More Olympics, good and different

In those days, when the mothers of current high school students went to school, students had only one chance to show off their talents - the All-Union (and later All-Russian) Olympiad for schoolchildren. To break into one hundred of the best students in the country, confirming their knowledge in several rounds, solving more than a dozen ingenious non-standard problems... Yes, not everyone was capable of this.

However, our children have much more chances to demonstrate their exclusivity - exactly 88 times, this is exactly how many subject Olympiads are approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated August 30, 2016 N 1118.

Introduction to Olympiad Studies

If 88 Olympiads came as a surprise to you, we explain how to use this list. First of all, pay attention to the column “Olympiad level” - there are numbers “I”, “II” and “III”. We can say that these numbers are a type of Olympiad: the first is the best, formally diplomas have the same value as those of the All-Russian Olympiad for Schoolchildren (yes, yes, the same one where “having confirmed your knowledge in several rounds, solving ingenious non-standard problems” ). Please note that Olympiads often have different levels for different subjects. For example, the All-Siberian Open Olympiad for Schoolchildren, which is held by NSU, has level I in chemistry and physics, level II in biology, mathematics and computer science.

In addition to the level of the Olympiad, it makes sense to take a closer look at the organization that hosts it. As a rule, all major universities hold their own Olympiads and are very friendly towards their winners and runners-up. NSU, as we have already mentioned, nurtures the All-Siberian Open Olympiad for Schoolchildren, which is held, of course, in Novosibirsk.

But if you like a university in the capital, then you can also test your strength close to home! For example, the Moscow State University Olympiads “Conquer the Sparrow Hills” and “Lomonosov” have a site in Barnaul every year, and the super-prestigious Higher School of Economics holds its “Highest Standard” Olympiad... in Berdsk!

Have you chosen the right Olympiads? Take the time to find their websites on the Internet. Unlike the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, in which your teachers will take care of your participation, here you will have to act on your own. Register (some Olympiads have just opened registration, others will do this in the next few days), solve problems from previous years (of course, it’s better if the child decides for himself), clarify all organizational issues (but it’s better not to trust the child with this).

Olympics - everything is fair

A small digression: just five or six years ago, the same confusion was going on in the Olympiads as with the Unified State Exam. And if the state exam was distinguished by all sorts of scandals associated with the “leaking” of assignments, “excellent” regions, where the number of 100-point students exceeded the limits of human capabilities, then the Olympiads were distinguished by the publication of a list of approved competitions at the end of May. Suddenly, the student learned that the Olympiad he won was not included in the list of the Ministry of Education and Science, or, for example, had the third, not the first level. It's unpleasant, isn't it? In addition, the question of corruption at the Olympics arose; Unlike the Unified State Exam, the Olympiad is a behind-the-scenes affair, and organizing a victory for the “right” student is theoretically much easier than for him to get 100 points on the Unified State Exam.

It's not like that anymore! We haven’t heard about “leaking” assignments for a couple of years now; every 100-point student is studied almost with a magnifying glass.

Here we should note that although all universities have already updated their admission rules, many have not yet approved the list of Olympiads that will allow them to count on benefits. And this is a very important point, since it is in this matter that the university is free to make an independent decision - which Olympiads are taken into account, which are not, and if taken into account, what benefits to provide.

Which Olympics to choose?

The situation is more or less clear only with the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren - it is recognized by all universities, the winners and prize-winners of the final stage are guaranteed admission outside the competition in the Olympiad profile (i.e. the winner of the Olympiad in physics is expected at the physics department).

This year's innovation is that now the diplomas of the winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren are valid for four years! If you don’t want to enroll this year, enroll next year, your benefits will remain.

In relation to other school competitions, universities, as a rule, provide the same benefits to the winners of Olympiads of equal level. For example, they accept all first-level Olympiad winners out of competition into the mathematics department, and it doesn’t matter whether it was Interregional Olympiad for schoolchildren in mathematics and cryptography, "Conquer the Sparrow Hills" or let's say "Tournament of Cities", conducted throughout the country by the Moscow Department of Education.

However, there are some subtleties here too, which are best learned from the university admissions office; for example, the Higher School of Economics previously recognized only the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren and its own, snobbishly dismissing the Olympiads of Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University - they say, who knows what tasks they came up with there, whether they were too simple and banal.

And remember that it’s never too early to participate in Olympiads - some universities are ready to work even with seventh-graders! We asked the NSU admissions committee whether it was important in which class the child won the Olympiad. It turns out that they are ready to take into account the victories of tenth-graders in the All-Russian Olympiad for Schoolchildren, although only graduates will be able to benefit from victories in other competitions.

But we remind you that it is better to find out all the details from the admissions office of the universities to which you intend to apply. Don't hesitate to call, admissions committees are already working!

What will winning the school Olympiad give an applicant?

Admission is out of competition. Check which level of Olympiads and in which subjects offer this benefit, and also keep in mind that the result must be confirmed by a high score in the profile Unified State Examination. An additional bonus: how exactly you pass other exams is no longer important. Moreover, if your core subject is mathematics or Russian, you can only take these two mandatory Unified State Examinations, although everyone else requires three exams for admission!

100 points in a core subject. This is also a good benefit, although not as pleasant as admission without competition. Usually given either if the subject does not correspond to the profile, or if the level of the Olympiad or diploma is low.

Several points (up to 10) for “individual achievements”- this is the case if you were unable to confirm your success with a high Unified State Exam score. Sometimes a few points make all the difference!

For example, let's give last year's lists of benefits for admission to NSU.
