Ren star wars. Harrison Ford - famous Hollywood actor

Character from the Star Wars universe. Kylo's parents - captain spaceship The Millennium Falcon is both a general of the Rebel Alliance and leader of the Resistance forces. Adding drama to Kylo's image is the fact that the hero kills his own father.

Kylo has a remarkable appearance: long black hair, brown eyes, an angular face and an awkward figure with tall. The hero's age is about 30 years. Has the ability to penetrate another's mind and sense another's presence. Possesses telekinesis - can stop a blaster beam in flight and control a lightsaber from a distance. He masterfully wields weapons and, together with a partner, can scatter a crowd of opponents.

History of creation

The script for the seventh episode of Star Wars was written by director and screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt. The Lucasfilm studio was sold to The Walt Disney Company in 2012, so the creator of the saga did not take part in the development of new characters.

Kylo Ren first appeared in a teaser that was released in 2014. At that time, the character did not yet have a name, but viewers already had the opportunity to appreciate Kylo’s spectacular lightsaber with a guard. Previously, such weapons were not known in the fictional Star Wars universe. Star Wars fans learned the name of the new hero later when a series of trading cards with images of the characters were released.

Plot

Kylo Ren first appears at the beginning of Episode VII of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The hero leads an elite squad of stormtroopers of the First Order, whose ranks initially include Finn, one of the main characters of the film. Kylo learns that a map has fallen into the hands of Resistance fighters, which shows the coordinates of a man who has disappeared to an unknown location. Resistance pilot Poe Dameron flies to the planet Jakku to get the map, where Kylo intercepts him and takes him prisoner.

The map leaves Kylo’s hands, but the hero penetrates Dameron’s mind and learns that Dameron’s droid, BB-8, escaped with the map. The fugitive droid is joined by young scavenger Rey, who will become deeply involved with Kylo Ren in the future.

One stormtrooper deserts from Kylo's squad - Finn, who, together with Rey and the droid, escapes from the First Order on the Millennium Falcon. Having met Han Solo in the vastness of space, the fugitives learn the backstory of Kylo Ren. Kylo was Luke Skywalker's student, but he betrayed his teacher, switched to the dark side of the force and changed his name. After this, Luke Skywalker disappeared.

This is only part of the story, and in the next episode - "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" - viewers get the opportunity to look at the situation from a different perspective. The reason for Kylo's betrayal was that Master Luke tried to kill the hero while he was sleeping. Luke felt the stirrings of the Dark Side in the young man and was afraid of the consequences. But it turned out that while the master stood over him with a drawn lightsaber and was considering whether to hit or not to hit, Kylo woke up and made his own conclusions.

From Episode VII, the viewer learns that, having left the path of the Jedi, Kylo became a student of the Supreme Leader, who heads the First Order. Also, before the name change, Kylo was called Ben Solo. Accordingly, he is the son of Han Solo.

In the same episode, the connection between Kylo Ren and Rey is first established. The hero takes the girl captive and tries to penetrate Rey’s mind in order to “get” from there the image of the map with Luke’s coordinates, which the girl saw. But Rey, contrary to expectations, rebuffs him and penetrates Kylo’s mind, reading the hero’s emotions. Rey, and with her the viewer, learns about Kylo's greatest fear - never surpassing Darth Vader in terms of fame and power.

To be closer to his idol, Kylo wears a mask, but the viewer can repeatedly see the hero without this helmet, and in some episodes even without a shirt.

At the end of the film, Kylo confronts his own father. The internal struggle does not prevent the hero from killing Han Solo, and Kylo himself is wounded. The hero receives another serious injury from Rey. The girl uses the Force for the first time and uses a lightsaber against Kylo, which previously belonged to the hero’s idol Darth Vader when he was Anakin Skywalker.

During the battle, the planet where the heroes are located begins to collapse, and Rey and her friends fly away. Kylo risks dying by exploding along with the planet, but the hero, on the orders of Supreme Leader Snoke, is picked up by “their own.”

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the bond between Kylo and Rey continues to grow stronger. Heroes are able to establish contact at a distance. During one of these “sessions,” Rey comes to the conclusion that Kylo still has a desire for the Light Side of the Force. The heroine believes that she can awaken Kylo's Light Side and goes to meet him.

Kylo, however, arrests Rey and escorts her to Supreme Leader Snoke. He's trying to Once again manipulate the hero, but as a result, Kylo kills Snoke and, together with Rey, deals with the running bodyguards of the Supreme Leader.

Kylo invites Rey to establish a new world order in the galaxy together, but she nobly refuses. After this, Kylo calmly blames the murder of his mentor on Rey, and declares himself the new Supreme Leader of the First Order.

And Kylo's first order is to attack the rebel base. The First Order troops approach the shelter where they took refuge last strength Resistance. IN last moment Luke Skywalker appears in front of Kylo's ship himself. The hero orders all guns to be fired at him, but Skywalker, after the shelling, only shakes a speck of dust off his shoulder.

Then Kylo himself comes out to fight against Luke Skywalker, but the old Jedi only dodges the blows and does not attack the hero. After telling Kylo that the war is just beginning, and the last Jedi is not himself, Skywalker allows Kylo to pierce himself with a sword. Here it turns out that all this time the hero was fighting not with his old teacher, but with his projection. Skywalker himself did not leave his island. While Luke distracted Kylo, the rebels managed to leave the base and hide.

Film adaptations

The film “Star Wars. Episode VII: The Force Awakens was released in 2015, and the next episode, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, was released in 2017. Kylo Ren played the role in both films American actor, and in the Russian dubbing was voiced by Alexander Koigerov.

Critics praised Driver's work in these films. The actor conveyed contradictory nature Kylo and made him a gifted bad guy, with which “a lot of interesting things can happen.” Kylo's temper, his complex biography, susceptibility to anger, unpredictability of character and high emotionality make the hero more believable and closer to the viewer.

Quotes

Many of Kylo's phrases were remembered by the audience:

"I'm sorry. I felt it again... the attraction of Light. The Supreme Leader sees everything. Guide me, show me the power of Darkness, and then I will sweep away all obstacles. Guide your grandson and I will finish what you started.”
“No need to worry. Together we will destroy the Resistance and the last Jedi."
"I'm immune to light."
“You need a mentor. I will teach you how to control the Force."
“Let the past die. Kill him if necessary. This is the only way to become the master of your destiny.”

Kylo Ren and Rey are not who they seem

Why Ren is not a Sith, and Rey is not a Jedi

ATTENTION! There are spoilers for the new film here.

As in any good science fiction, even the most inexplicable has a theory behind it. And even if not everyone understands its intricacies, anyone who has watched at least a couple of films knows about the mysterious Force.

My acquaintance with Star Wars is limited precisely to films and the universal love for R2D2, of which I have a whole collection from small Lego to plush toys(read to the end - you will see the photo). And I paid the least amount of attention to the philosophy of Star Wars, being moved by the swearing robot. But everything changed with last movie(to you, Kylo Ren).

Having thoroughly bashed my fellow StarWars geeks, I was only convinced of my opinion that the creators are clearly stirring up something right under our very noses.

Sith and Jedi

They all have the same Power, but use it differently.

Sith rely on emotions. The brighter these emotions are (and he knows how to control them), the stronger the Sith. It was emotions that pushed Anakin to the Dark Side; he was unable to restrain them.

Jedi They are strong in balance. Meditation, meditation and more meditation. Emotions harm a Jedi, because he is in continuous contact with the Force and any of his emotions is amplified a hundredfold by the emotions of other people who feel the same. (There was some controversy here, but we came to the conclusion that this is most likely true.) Remember “The Last Jedi” and Luke’s “mistake” with Ben. Luke succumbed to fear and everything ended badly...

Kylo Ren and Rey

Now let's get back to our main characters.

Kylo Ren Quite an unbalanced fellow. Throws things, hits everything, cracked his helmet... But remember every time he screwed up. After all, at such moments he was always under the very emotions that seemed to be supposed to give him strength. But as soon as he concentrated (as in the scene with Snoke and Rey), he managed to turn the sword without his master noticing. And in the subsequent battle he was collected. No matter what emotions he experiences: negative (anger, rage), which should make him stronger, or positive (compassion, interest), which do the opposite, Kylo still screws up.

Ray on the contrary, he is constantly under emotions, and negative ones at that. She is indignant, upset, she is indignant and angry. And every time she wins from this - she hurts Kylo, holds her own against Snoke... Her emotions give her control.

Behavior Rey and Kylo are contradicted by their essences. They both show themselves back side. This imbalance is only reinforced by the fact that they are both dropouts. Although Ren has more experience.

What does this mean?

Well, the simplest move is to swap them at the end. But it looks too clumsy. Rather, it will be interesting to observe the birth of something completely new.

My colleague Mertvetsov came up with the idea that all the references to past episodes in The Last Jedi, which so irritate many, are not just quotes... We are shown the past in order to finally complete it. We close the past.

But these are Kylo's words. He suggested that Rey forget everything that happened and create something new. The bipolarity of these heroes, the inconsistency with their “coloring” leads to exactly this outcome. It seems that the “gray Jedi” are waiting for us.

The plot of the third episode, as far as we know, is currently being actively rewritten (or has already been rewritten...). It's all about the death of the irreplaceable Carrie Fisher. And I have a strong feeling that now they will ruin everything... How scary it is to wait for the finale! He will hope that they will not merge it.

In this article you will learn:

Kylo Ren - main villain new film from the Star Wars universe. This character appeared quite recently and immediately received conflicting reviews. Kylo is the son of Han and Leia, as well as the grandson of Darth Vader. The villain is part of the canon.

Background

The character's real name is Ben. He was born into the family of a smuggler and a princess. The approximate date of birth of the hero is 5-6 ABY. He was born after the Republic's victory over the Empire at the Battle of Endor.

Ben was a force-sensitive boy. His parents were afraid that he would follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, so as soon as the boy reached a certain age, he was sent to study by his uncle.

Perhaps Han and Leia were not ideal parents, so their son at some point left his teacher, becoming a member dark organization Knights of Ren which belonged to the First Order, followers of the Empire. Getting on the path dark force Ben took on a new name, Kylo.

As a sign that he belongs to the Knights, the hero took the prefix Ren (similar to how the Sith used to take the prefix Darth).

Instead of a regular light blade, Kylo assembled a sword of an unusual design, which was extremely unstable.

After her son left, Leia led the Resistance, Han went on a spree, going on a long journey, and Skywalker, feeling guilty for failing with his student, disappeared.

Ren played by Adam Driver

The Force Awakens

This is the first film where Ren's character appeared. He was played by actor Adam Driver (no comments!).

Kylo became Master of the Knights of Ren and worked under the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the First Order, Snoke, along with General Hux, at Starkiller Base (something similar to the Death Star, only on a larger scale).

The hero studied the entire history of his grandfather and became so obsessed with him that he vowed to finish his work. Like all Knights of Ren, the character wore dark robes and a mask.

While Ren was chasing the fugitives, a battle took place in orbit of Starkiller Base, which ended with the destruction of the Order's weapons.

Kylo managed to catch up with Finn and Rey. In a short fight with Finn, who used Luke Skywalker's sword, the dark disciple emerged victorious, but his strength was not enough for Rey, who defeated Ren. Kylo could have died at the hands of the scavenger, but Starkiller Base began to fall apart and Ren and Rey were separated.

After failing, the surviving Kylo was delivered to Snoke.

Leadership ability

Kylo Ren without mask this moment is the best leader of the First Order faction.

Without zeta, its leader looks like this:

Allied First Order characters receive +25% critical damage and +25 speed. When a First Order allied character scores a critical hit, they gain 15% Turn Meter.

Great leader. A high increase in speed and a good increase in critical damage makes First Order units very strong in attack. It is also worth paying attention to receiving big bonus to the progress bar when dealing critical hits. This often saves the day, and is also important when playing against units with a large number of bonuses to the turn scale (they will allow you not to lag too far behind enemies or even overtake them).

Zeta gives the following:

15% critical damage, +5 speed, +5% turn gauge. When a First Order ally receives a status effect, they regain 5% health and 5% defense.

Zeta makes PP units even more serious in attack, because the increase in critical damage will be 40%. The PP also becomes faster. A great bonus is that First Order characters can restore health and defense when they receive a buff or debuff. This helps not only in attack, but in defense. If we talk about defense, then even with all the possible zetas, First Order units as a whole do not hold up very well. They can be easily defeated by a huge variety of other teams, however, the PP faction can still cause trouble for some. For example, in guild wars, if in one location there are several well-pumped PP units at once. Your opponent will have to spend, if not top-end, but certainly quite strong team to deal with the PP.

Conclusions: Zeta must be installed , if you want to have a strong squad in stock dark side, consisting of representatives of the First Order faction. Zeta on the leader Kylo will help you in dark territorial battles, in guild wars (it’s better when many in the guild have pumped up PP units), as well as in individual events. And if you have excellent modules, then with Zeta on Kylo’s leader you can try playing in the arena. After all, PP units can defeat any enemy. Kylo Ren has one of the best faction zetas for the dark side, so you shouldn't ignore the PP faction. It will also be useful to you in raids.

Unique ability

The leader of the First Order faction is one of best tanks in Game. And he has zeta on a unique ability, which reveals the tank’s potential even more.

Without Zeta, the unique thing looks like this:

When Kylo takes damage, he recovers 8% health, and a random First Order ally who does not have the advantage effect receives it for 2 turns. Kylo has a 50% chance to counterattack. Kylo takes reduced damage from percentage damage effects.

Thanks to this unique ability, Kylo becomes a headache for weaker units. You've probably already seen posts from newcomers who couldn't kill just Kylo with a whole squad. Of course, over time, treating Kylo Ren ceases to be a big problem, but the fact remains that his treatment really affects the battle. And this is relevant not only low levels(although sometimes its treatment is not noticeable at all). Due to the fact that Kylo Ren often provokes enemies and, accordingly, often receives damage, allies from the PP faction (including Kylo himself) also often receive the “advantage” effect, which allows them to better perform in the attack . Kylo's counterattack can be annoying. Maybe not by damage from the basic ability, but at least by the fact that you will have to watch this animation very often. Reducing durability from the basic ability can be useful, because sometimes the inscription “RESISTANCE” when it was really necessary to apply a negative effect is annoying.

Zeta gives Kylo Ren the following:

“When Kylo has the Taunt effect, the chance of a counterattack is 100%. Kylo Ren gains a taunt effect at the start of each fight."

This zeta allows you to add Kylo Ren to the list of tanks with automatic provocation at the beginning of the battle. This helps a lot, because the enemy can start attacking the least durable characters from the very beginning of the battle. In the First Order faction, such a character can be considered an Officer, who, despite his low survivability, is one of the most important members of the units of this faction, which is why they often try to kill him as soon as possible. This zeta also allows you to quite effectively use Kylo as a tank in hodgepodges (mixed squads), and not just in teams of the First Order faction. Auto-taunt (or auto-taunt) is very good, and it helps a lot in a lot of fights (even if the enemy has Han Solo, who ignores taunts during the first turn at the beginning of the fight). Tanks with automatic taunts at the beginning of the battle allow your characters to buy some time. In some battles, this can give a big advantage or decide the outcome of the battle in your favor from the very beginning. True, one should not hope that this zeta will always make a significant contribution to the battle. This is wrong. For many squads in the game, it doesn't even matter what kind of characters are in your squad. They will be able to defeat you in attack without any problems in any case with relatively equal leveling.

Conclusions: Zeta should be installed in two cases :

  • you are actively playing as a First Order team - in this case, you should put zeta at least after you put zeta on Kylo Ren's leadership ability. But usually the zeta on the unique ability of Kylo Ren (without a mask) in the First Order squad should be placed last. There are more useful Zetas in this faction.
  • you use Kylo as the main or secondary tank in a squad in the arena. And at the same time, you will not change your squad in the coming months (although this zeta is unlikely to be superfluous, since sooner or later many players are leveling up First Order, and you may not be an exception).
It is worth understanding that the influence of this zeta on the battle greatly depends on your and the enemy squad. There are more useful Zetas in the game, some of which we have already written about, and we will write about the rest later. Even if you don't currently plan to bet zeta on Kylo's unique ability, it's at least worth making a note that this zeta will need to be considered in the future.
