Mention of the salamander in Harry Potter. Heroes of the Harry Potter books after the end of the franchise

Especially for those who have not read JK Rowling’s interview after the release of the seventh book about Harry Potter, we are publishing a selection of predictions from her interview. The writer shares her assumptions about what Harry, Ron and Hermione are doing now, about the future of Teddy Lupine and some other heroes, about how the wizarding world has changed.
It’s up to you to believe all this or not, because the writer has repeatedly emphasized that these are just her assumptions and this is how she sees the future of the magical world.
Let us remind you that the book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was published on July 21, 2007.

Will Ron, Hermione or Harry return to Hogwarts in some capacity?

JKR: I can easily imagine Harry coming back to give some random lecture on... say, Defense Against the Dark Arts. And, of course, the curse is now broken since Voldemort is no more. Now they can hire good teacher Defense Against the Dark Arts.

You left the ending open to speculation - in the epilogue we see Harry, Hermione and Ron, they have their own children...

JKR: That's not why I left the ending open. I didn't write the epilogue thinking, “Okay. Now the next series of books for a new generation can be built on this.” I just... wanted to show that life goes on, even if someone passes away.

Rowling says Teddy, Professor Lupin's son, was one of the main reasons she wanted to write the epilogue.

JKR: To see that Teddy Lupine is okay. That he continues to communicate with Harry and that he must be happy and that he has a very pretty girlfriend - I think he kisses in the epilogue with eldest daughter Bill and Fleur.
MV: And why is this so important?
JKR: Because he was an orphan. And I wanted to show him that he was okay... and then I started crying. Of course, Teddy Lupine is very important to me. I just killed both of his parents and I really wanted him to be okay.

What I learned Magic world(if at all) and how has society changed directly because of the war with Voldemort?

J.K. Rowling: The Ministry of Magic was freed from corruption, and under Kingsley's leadership, the inequalities that had always lurked there were eradicated.
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and all will of course play a significant role in rebuilding magical society in their future activities.

Have Lucius Malfoy and all the other escaped Death Eaters returned to Azkaban?

J.K. Rowling: No, the Malfoys got out of trouble again because they acted in concert with Harry at the end of the battle, albeit in their own interests.

What happened to Winky then?

J.K. Rowling: She's still at Hogwarts, and she was among the advancing house elves that attacked the Death Eaters in the final battle.

Does Hermione continue to work in the society for the protection of elf rights, and has she changed to better life house elves?

J.K. Rowling: Hermione began her post-Hogwarts career with the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, where she contributed to significant improvements in the lives of house elves and their fellows. She then moved (despite her dislike of Scrimgeour) to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, where she was a leading voice for the eradication of oppressive laws that protected only purebloods.

Did Teddy grow up living with his grandmother?

J.K. Rowling: Yes, Teddy was raised by Andromeda. But, unlike Neville, who was also raised by his grandmother, Teddy could visit his godfather Harry, all his father’s friends from the Order, and stay with them.

Could you tell us what professions Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny chose?

J.K. Rowling: Thank you! I already answered about Hermione. Kingsley had become permanent Minister for Magic and naturally he wanted Harry to head his new Auror department. Harry agreed (after all, if Voldemort is no more, this does not mean that new dark sorcerers and witches will not appear in the coming years). Ron began working with George at the Weasley's Magic Tricks store, which became a very profitable business.
After several years as a star player for the Hollyhead Harpies, Ginny left to start a family and become the senior Quidditch reporter for the Daily Prophet!

Were the Deathly Hallows based on any myth or fairy tale from the real world?

J.K. Rowling: Possibly Chaucer's Pardoner's Tale.

What happened to Luna, did she get married?

J.K. Rowling: She married (somewhat later than Harry and company) a fellow naturalist, grandson of the great Newt Scamander (Rolf)!

Who killed Remus and Tonks? I think knowing this would have helped me somehow come to terms with the very sad but understandable deaths of two of my favorite characters.

J.K. Rowling: I'm so sorry! On the night of the book's release, I met a couple dressed as Lupine and Tonks and felt terribly guilty signing their books.
Remus was killed by Dolohov, and Tonks by Bellatrix.

What happened to Percy, did he return to his job at the Ministry?

J.K. Rowling: Yes, the new reformed Percy became a high-ranking official under Kingsley.

Are there still dementors in Azkaban?

J.K. Rowling: No, definitely not. Kingsley will take care of it.

What happened to all the dementors, where will they go? Will they be destroyed, and if so, how?

J.K. Rowling: Dementors cannot be destroyed. However, it is possible to limit their numbers by eradicating the conditions in which they thrive, such as desperation and degradation. However, as I said, the Ministry no longer uses them to torture their opponents.

How does George cope without his twin brother?

J.K. Rowling: I don't think George will ever get over losing Fred, and that makes me very sad. However, he names his first child and son Fred, and he goes on to have a very successful career, helped by good old Ron.

Will Lokons ever be cured?

J.K. Rowling: No. And I wouldn't want that. He's happy where he is, and I'm happier without him!

Did the wizarding world find out that Snape was Dumbledore's man?

J.K. Rowling: Harry made sure his heroism was known. Although, of course, no one could stop Rita Skeeter from writing Snape: Scoundrel or Saint?

Is Rita Skeeter still writing?

J.K. Rowling: Who can stop her? I imagine she immediately rushed to write Harry's biography after defeating Voldemort. A quarter truth and three quarters nonsense.

Has Teddy Lupine become a werewolf?

J.K. Rowling: No, he's a Metamorphmagus, just like his mother.

Are the faculties at Harry's Hogwarts the same as they were before?

J.K. Rowling: Slytherin has changed. Now it's not such a stronghold purebred wizards as it once was. However, his reputation remained the same, hence Albus Potter's fears.

J.K. Rowling: I have a feeling he didn't give it to any of them, but James stole it from his dad's desk one day.

Can Harry speak Parseltongue now that he is no longer a Horcrux?
J.K. Rowling: No, he lost that ability and he's very happy about it.

Was Hermione able to find her parents and restore their memories?

J.K. Rowling: Yes, she returned them home immediately.

Did Hermie actually cast a memory spell for her parents, as she claimed? 50 pages later she told Ron that she never used the spell.

J.K. Rowling: These are 2 different spells. She didn't erase her parents' memories like she did with Rowley and Dolokhov, she put a spell on them to make them believe that they were different people.

Did Harry and Draco's feud end after Voldemort's death?

J.K. Rowling: Not really. There was a reconciliation between them: Harry knew that Draco did not like being a Death Eater and he would not have killed Dumbledore. And Draco felt grateful to Harry for saving his life.
But real friendship was impossible. Too much happened before the final battle.

Will the Resurrection Stone ever be found?

J.K. Rowling: I think not. I think he was crushed into the ground by a centaur's hoof as the centaurs came to the aid of the combatants, and buried there forever.

Has Krum met his love?

J.K. Rowling: Yes, of course. But for this he had to return to his native Bulgaria.

Will the story of Harry and his friends appear on chocolate frogs?

J.K. Rowling: definitely! And Ron will be especially pleased with this.

How are things going at The Quibbler?

J.K. Rowling: Great! The magazine is back again normal state insanity and is popular for his indescribable humor.

Did the members of Dumbledore's Army keep their coins?

J.K. Rowling: Yes. They became badges of sorts, medals of bravery - proof that the owner had been at the center of the battle with Voldemort from the very beginning. I like to imagine Neville showing off his coin to his enthusiastic students.

Since Voldemort feared death, did he become a ghost? If so, where does he live? or is it impossible because of the Horcruxes?

No, he didn't become a ghost. He is forced to exist in the stunted form that we saw at King's Cross.

Family tree of Potters and Weasleys; Harry Potter Baby Names

On the one hand, it takes place in the same reality - with wizards and their miracles, on the other - the plot has moved as much as new continent, at another time, and in the film there is not a single familiar character. And we have never even seen such creatures before. The only thing we know is that Newt Scamander wrote a book about fantastic animals, which Harry and his friends learned from at school.

Everything is new, but there are subtle connections between the new film and old story, which promise to result in new mythology. The closest analogue that comes to mind is the second and first Star Wars trilogies.

And be careful - here the spoiler is on the spoiler and the spoiler is driving.

Hogwarts

Warner Bros

Queenie Goldstein says Ilvermorny is best school magic in the world. Scamander countered that Hogwarts was actually the best. But he is so delicate that he did not insist, and the name of the British school of magic was mentioned only in passing.

Hufflepuff

Warner Bros.

At Hogwarts, Newt Scamander was a Hufflepuff student. We understand this when at customs he opens his suitcase, and there is a neatly folded Hufflepuff scarf in yellow and black colors. Distinctive features The students of this faculty are considered to have hard work, perseverance, loyalty and honesty.

Albus Dumbledore

Young Dumbledore and Grindelwald Warner Bros.

Only in one phase was the name of Albus Dumbledore heard, when Graves is surprised at Newt, “What did Albus Dumbledore find in you?” And much later, at the very end, when Graves takes on his true guise as Gellert Grindelwald, we understand that he knew Albus well.

Gellert Grindelwald

Warner Bros.

Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore were good friends for some time. They even searched for the Deathly Hallows together, but the future headmaster of Hogwarts abandoned this idea in time. And we know from the book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” that in 1945, 19 years later, a duel will take place between them, as a result of which the dark magician will be defeated, go to prison, where Voldemort will finish him off, and Dumbledore you will get an elder wand - one of the Deathly Hallows.

Leta Lestrange

Bellatrix Lestrange Warner Bros.

Lita - mysterious girl, with whom Newt studied at Hogwarts and to whom he was clearly not indifferent. So far, all that is known is that the magizoologist was expelled due to her fault. But it is important that her surname is quite sinister; in Potter it belonged to the villain Bellatrix Lestrange - from her husband Rudolphus Lestrange. Voldemort considered them his most loyal allies. In general, a so-so family. But in those years, no one had any idea about their “devouring” future.

Niffler

Warner Bros.

These beauties were not seen in the Potter films, but Rowling described them in the book “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” Hagrid showed these animals to his students in class, and then some pranksters used them to annoy Dolores Umbridge.

Deathly Hallows

Warner Bros.

Graves in the first film gave Credence a chain with symbols well known to us: a triangle, a circle and a straight line. This is a sign of the Deathly Hallows that Harry collected in latest episodes its story: the invisibility cloak, the resurrection stone and the elder wand.

1926

Tom Riddle is 11 years old Warner Bros.

And this is perhaps the most interesting thing: the first Fantastic Beasts film takes place in 1926. This is the year of birth of Tom Riddle, better known to us as Voldemort. What this non-random coincidence means, we will find out in the sequels.

Marauders' Map

Still from "Harry Potter" Warner Bros.

By the way, Newt Scamander visited Hogwarts when Harry was studying there. On the Marauder's Map in the film "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", attentive viewers noticed the name Newt, who was walking into Dumbledore's office - apparently, he had arrived on a visit to an old friend.

Invisible

Warner Bros.

The apple flying in front of the boy and eating itself alludes to the scene when Harry used the invisibility cloak to sneak into Hogsmeade and walked around with the same candy.

She followed Harry and Ron because goodness was much more important to her than knowledge and this can say a lot about her. Was she forced to fight? Not at all. She's not Bellatrix. She is not the kind of woman who wants to hurt, fight or kill. "Hermione was happy to get back to school, study, and then join Harry and Ron at the Ministry."

15. Mr. Weasley eventually fixed Sirius Black's motorcycle and returned it to Harry.

16. Luna Lovegood married Rolf Scamander. His great-grandfather was famous in magical world naturalist and writer Newt Scamander. They had two children: twins Lorcan and Lysander.

18. Harry made sure that the portrait of Severus Snape returned to its rightful place in the Hogwarts headmaster's office.

J.K. Rowling:

"This (The absence of a portrait of Severus Snape in last scene"Deathly Hallows") was no coincidence. He actually left his position as Headmaster during the Battle of Hogwarts, so he didn't deserve a place in the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts. But I like the idea that Harry was instrumental in bringing Snape's portrait to its rightful place...Harry would do everything he could to make sure people knew about Snape's heroism."

19. Alice and Frank Longbottom never returned from St. Mungo's Hospital and lived there for the rest of their lives.

J.K. Rowling:

“Readers were really hoping that everything would be okay with Neville's parents, and I can understand why. J.K. Rowling:

“He lost that gift and I’m very glad about that.”

Harry Potter: The Next Generation

Top row(from left to right): James Sirius Potter, Victoire Weasley, Teddy Lupine, Dominic Weasley, Molly Weasley, Fred Weasley, Roxanne Weasley.

Bottom row (from left to right): Scorpius Malfoy, Albus Potter, Rose Weasley, Lorcan Scamander, Lysander Scamander, Louis Weasley, Lucy Weasley, Lily Luna Potter, Hugo Weasley.

Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley

Harry and Ginny after tragic events youth live happily and calmly, raising three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna. Harry fulfilled his dream and became an Auror, and then headed the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. In addition, Harry became godfather Teddy Lupine, son of those killed in last battle Remus Lupine and Nymphadora Tonks.

Ginny got a successful sports career and became a professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies, before retiring from Quidditch to become a reporter and subsequently sports editor for the Daily Prophet.

Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley

Everything turned out well for Hermione and Ron too - they got married and are raising two children, daughter Rose and son Hugo. Ron, like Harry, worked as an Auror in the Ministry of Magic, where friends “revolutionized” the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. However, after working at the Ministry for only two years, Ron left his career as an auror and, together with his brother George, began working at the All Various Magic Wreckers store. The main achievement in Ron's life is a card from chocolate frogs with his image.

Hermione is the only one of the trio who decided to complete her education at Hogwarts, after which she went to build successful career at the Ministry of Magic. At first, Hermione worked in the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Populations, where she continued the glorious work of G.A.V.N.E. - the fight for the rights of house elves. Hermione then worked in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and eventually became the Minister of Magic.

Malfoy family

Literally in last moment By changing sides, the Malfoys escaped imprisonment in Azkaban after the Battle of Hogwarts. Draco married Astoria Greengrass and has a son, Scorpius. J. K. Rowling did not talk much about what Malfoy does - apparently, Draco lives on the wealth of the Malfoy family.

Neville Longbottom

After the Battle of Hogwarts, Neville returned to finish his studies at Hogwarts, worked briefly as an Auror, and then returned to the school of witchcraft and wizardry forever - as a professor of herbology and one of the students' most beloved teachers. Neville married Hannah Abbott and settled down at the Leaky Cauldron, where Hannah worked.

Luna Lovegood

Luna with her love for rare (and often non-existent) magical creatures became a magizoologist - and eventually married Rolf Scamander, the grandson of the same Newt Scamander from " Fantastic Beasts and where they live,” who studies rare magical animals with her. The couple has twin sons, Lorcan and Lysander.

Rubeus Hagrid

One of Harry Potter's first friends and his faithful assistant is still alive and well at Hogwarts. Hagrid's romance with Madame Maxime never ended because she turned out to be "too sophisticated" for Hagrid.

Weasley brothers

Despite the terrible losses, the Weasley family still lives relatively happily. George was never able to fully come to terms with the death of his twin brother Fred, who was killed during the Battle of Hogwarts, and named his first-born in his honor. George runs the Magical Mischief Shop with Ron and married Angelina Johnson, who played on the Gryffindor Quidditch team with him. They have two children - son Fred and daughter Roxanne.

Charlie Weasley remains a bachelor, hopelessly devoted only to his beloved dragons. Percy married a girl named Audrey and became the father of two daughters, Lucy and Molly, eventually rising within the Ministry of Magic to head the Department of Magical Transport.

Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour are happily married and have three children. After the Battle of Hogwarts, Bill received several orders for bravery and returned to work at Gringotts Bank.

Dudley Dursley

Dudley got own family and exchanges Christmas cards with the Potters. Aunt Petunia died (however, JK Rowling did not talk about the reasons), whether Uncle Vernon is alive is unknown.

Victor Kram

Viktor Krum is still doing what he does best - playing Quidditch. He left the sport for several years, but then returned and played for the Bulgarian national team, with which he eventually won the World Cup in 2014.

Dolores Umbridge

Dolores Umbridge got what she deserved: she was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned in Azkaban for life.

Rita Skeeter

While still writing columns for the Daily Prophet, Skeeter made a fortune writing biographies - including biographies of Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Harry Potter and Newt Scamander.

Kingsley Brestwer

Immediately after the end of the war, Kingsley Brustwer officially became the Minister of Magic and held this post until he handed over the ministerial chair to Hermione. Through the efforts of Kingsley, the use of dementors was banned in Azkaban.
