Masyanya's daughter. Who is Masyanya? Characters from the animated series "Masyanya"

In the fall of 2001, I posted on my hamster (homepage), now long deceased, 3-4 completely idiotic cartoons for my friends. The cartoons were made in this then completely new Flash technology. The very first cartoon was the cartoon “Song”<…>. More accurately, it wasn’t even a cartoon, but just a test. At that time, a plugin was required to watch flash drives. The cartoons featured a certain clumsy character named “Masyanya”, who called everyone “browns”, and it was not even clear what gender this noisy creature was. The innovation was that at that time the Internet was practically silent and consisted mainly of texts. Cartoons “in flash” unexpectedly enlivened the network. And what was even more cool was that the character spoke Russian, and in its very street version, although he did not slip into obscenities.

October 22, 2001 - this date is still celebrated as Masyanya's birthday - Oleg Kuvaev registers the domain www.mult.ru, where he has a website entirely dedicated to Masyanya. Cartoons, distinguished by a slightly hooligan style of self-expression and at the same time endless optimism in life, light philosophy and humor, are quickly gaining popularity. Already in January 2002, Oleg Kuvaev opened his own studio “Mult.ru”, and two months later he became the winner of the third annual “National Internet Award”, where he collected most awards in the five most prestigious categories: Grand Prix, “Discovery of the Year”, press prize, prize audience choice and an award in the “Network Art” category. Gradually, the amateur animated series is growing into a large-scale project professional studio"Mult.ru".

From the very beginning of the Masyanya project, Oleg Kuvaev faced a large wave of piracy and illegal use of Masyanya’s image. Dozens, if not hundreds of product titles were released without any control, participation or permission from the author and his studio. Numerous attempts were made to combat mass piracy, but they were for the most part unsuccessful, due to the absence in Russia at that time legislative framework and legal practice in copyright law. In 2003, Masyanya's image was used by the Muz-TV channel in its program "Visiting Masyanya" without Kuvaev's permission, which led to a lawsuit won by Kuvaev's studio. Masyanya in this program was voiced by Pavel Volya (future participant in the Comedy Club project). In Ukraine, the animated series was illegally broadcast by the Inter TV channel in 2003.

The series was discontinued several times and resumed just as many times. For some time, the project website was even located on a different domain, and later it was completely closed for several months. After lengthy legal proceedings, the author finally regained the rights to the character, the Masyanya trademark and the mult.ru domain, but the problems for Masyanya did not end there. In 2006, Oleg Kuvaev had disagreements with creative group studio "Mult.ru", as a result of which he decided to leave the studio, leaving behind the rights to the first issues of the series, and went into freelance. So, in July 2007, a new, fourth life of “Masyanya” began, which continues happily to this day.

Currently, the author is personally involved in all matters regarding the animated series (graphics, scripts, voice acting) and produces the series completely alone.

Off the Internet, the project gained popularity thanks to the program “Namedni” with Leonid Parfenov, in which new episodes of “Masyanya” were broadcast weekly. In total, about twenty episodes were shown on TV, but due to the cessation of funding from Masyanya LLC, which at that time had all the rights to the project, the release of new episodes had to be stopped.

In May 2013, the official website of the project for the first time in for a long time completely changed his appearance. The changes affected both the design of the site and the format of the cartoons posted on it. Now all cartoons on the site are published in video format, and not in outdated flash, as before.

Characters

The location of the animated series is most often St. Petersburg, in several episodes it is Moscow. The main characters at the beginning of the animated series are young people of college age. Later, Oleg Kuvaev decided that the heroes of the series would not remain “forever young,” as is customary in the world practice of animated series, but would grow up along with their viewers. They are drawn in a very unique way: an oval head with six hairs, large cunning eyes, a mouth to the ears and eyebrows in the air; cucumber body, thin arms and legs. The graphic style is deliberately primitivist in places. In later episodes, the images of some characters were slightly changed, and the quality of the graphics became noticeably more accurate. The main characters are indifferent to politics.

Masyanya in advertising

At first, Oleg Kuvaev categorically rejected the possibility of advertising cartoons or any products featuring characters from the animated series. "Masyanya" was clean art project. However, this state of affairs could not last long, because “Masyanya” was overwhelmed by a wave of massive copyright infringement. Many products with Masyanya’s symbols were produced without any permission from the author or copyright holder. Starting in 2004, the policy regarding the animated series was changed, and the first advertising and commissioned commercial cartoons began to appear. At first these were commercials for the company ZyXEL

  • Numerous attempts to translate the series “Masyanya” into other languages were considered unsuccessful by Oleg Kuvaev. Due to the extensive use of slang, puns and various fragments of quotes, the series is extremely difficult to translate.
  • In the series “Russian punk rock” musical group Masyanya, Shaggy and Khrundel performs a cover of the popular song “New Born” British rock band Muse.
  • Thanks to the “Amsterdam” series, accidentally seen by some Dutch people, Oleg Kuvaev later had real business negotiations in Amsterdam for the release of “Ecstasy-Cockaine” dolls in the Netherlands. The negotiations were broken down due to the frivolity of their subject.
  • The “Birthday” series was almost literally, with slight exaggerations, rewritten from the direct speech of one famous lady from the then St. Petersburg musical scene.
  • The series “Masyanya and Spleen,” which is a kind of mockery of the “opopsification” of the group Spleen, was nevertheless approved by the group and even ended up on their CD as a multimedia bonus.
  • The plot of the series "Moscow" is based on real events. Shortly before the appearance of the series, Oleg Kuvaev was invited to Moscow by one of the fans of the series (the prototype of the character Lyaska), who, as it later turned out, was the lead singer of a popular pop group at that time. Being an ardent hater of pop music, but at the same time a polite and tactful person, Kuvaev was forced to take an excursion with her into the pop-glamorous life of the capital, and based the impressions from this trip on the cartoon. Later, Lyaska became an independent character, completely breaking away from the prototype, and became the embodiment of the average “Moscow pop girl.”
  • In the series “The Bloodworm of the Hoarse Tractor Driver” and “Masyaptits and Khrundeptitsepap” Masyanya dies. Also in the series “Ant Oratorio” (in the second ending), Shaggy dies, but in these series the characters were presented in the images of various birds and insects, and not themselves.
  • In the series "Breakaway" and "Cthulhu and the Penguin with a Propeller" Winnie the Pooh and Piglet appear, in the series "Post-New Year's Delirium" - Beavis and Butt-head, and in the series "Smoke, Grandpa, Narzan!" - police bears from issues 1 and 5 Well, wait a minute! .
  • The series "Okolobakha", known for its tragedy, was made based on real case which happened to one of Kuvaev’s friends. The picture that appears in the final frame is real picture oil painting, drawn before the creation of the cartoon.
  • In the original version of the “Radio Day” series, “Radio Minimum” was written on the sign in the studio, but later the word “Minimum” was blurred out at the request of a friend Oleg Kuvaev, who worked at radio “Maximum”, who was afraid of being fired because of this, which suddenly became popular , cartoon.
  • In the episode “Our Stranger” where Hryundel brought a camera, Shaggy played on the computer in

Legal problems[ | ]

From the very beginning of the Masyanya project, Oleg Kuvaev faced a large wave of piracy and illegal use of Masyanya’s image. Dozens, if not hundreds of product titles were released without any control, participation or permission from the author and his studio. Numerous attempts were made to combat mass piracy, but they were mostly unsuccessful due to the lack of a legislative framework and legal practice on copyright in Russia at that time.

In addition, in 2002, Kuvaev himself entered into an agreement with Moscow businessman Grigory Zorin without involving lawyers, as a result of which he lost almost all rights to Masyanya, which went to Masyanya LLC. In February 2003, Masyanya LLC, without informing the author, transferred all rights to copyright agreement to the Alvins company, which began haphazardly selling them to third parties. The author was removed from control over the use of Masyanya’s image, and without his participation, forgeries were born, which, according to the artist, did not even remotely correspond to the image and concept of the genuine character. .

In 2003, the new copyright holders allowed the Muz-TV channel to use Masyanya’s image, where the program “Visiting Masyanya” was created. Masyanya in this program was voiced by Pavel Volya (future participant in the Comedy Club project). Kuvaev created a caustic satirical series “Dermuz TV” and filed a lawsuit. On July 15, 2004, the Savyolovsky Intermunicipal Court of Moscow decided to “terminate the agreement between Oleg Igorevich Kuvaev and Masyanya LLC on the transfer of rights to use the work - a drawn character called Masyanya,” but representatives of Muz-TV were in no hurry to remove the program from the air . Kuvaev had to go to court again, which ordered Muz-TV to stop broadcasting the program and prohibited the use of Masyanya’s image.

In 2003, Masyanya’s image was illegally used in advertising for the Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar.

At the same time, hidden advertising is not used in the series, and advertising cartoons do not appear in it.

Masyanya’s own father can be considered the talented St. Petersburg artist Oleg Kuvaev, and his mother, perhaps, is the World Wide Web. Be that as it may, the cartoon began to multiply by leaps and bounds and not always in a legal way, which added a lot of trouble to its creator. Masyanya even managed to sneak onto TV screens without asking. In Ukraine, the cartoon itself was broadcast on one of the channels, and in Russia this extraordinary personality was made the host of one of the TV shows. Looking at Masyanya, you immediately understand that this charismatic person overcame the path from an amateur series to a large-scale project by leaps and bounds.

So, the real name of our heroine is still Maria, and affectionate nickname girl got with light hand creator. Our Masha is not as simple as you might think, her eccentricity is captivating, her anarchic views are alarming, and her manner of speaking makes you think seriously about your own health. They say, of course, that laughter is healthy, but still be careful, otherwise it won’t take long to break your stomach.

Looking at the happy owner of six hairs, you begin to understand that nothing can spoil beauty. At least, this hairstyle doesn’t bother Masyanya much, and this beautiful girl is not very prone to dressing up. The girl often wears a red top and a blue miniskirt; she appears year after year in the same outfit, and somehow about her appearance doesn't care. It’s unlikely that anyone would risk pointing this out to her, and what good can be done, this person can criticize anyone, without mincing words or expressions. Rest assured that not a single flaw escapes her keen eye. blue eyes It won’t slip through, and if you get it on your tongue, it will flow around you for a long time.

Unlike many others cartoon characters Masyanya grows along with her viewers. She even managed to get married and give birth to children. This caring mother Raises kids in a very original way, but also suffers enough from them. Agree, not every mother will perceive a porridge shower as an inevitable evil. She communicates with children, and there are two of them in the family, somewhat differently than with the others. It’s not that he doesn’t allow himself anything unnecessary, but he still strives to protect his children from harsh words. Sometimes, when communicating with children without strangers, she becomes completely serious and affectionate.

Hrundel (aka Alexander) is Masyanya's boyfriend. The owner of a chic three-hair hairstyle. Likes to dress in blue overalls. Likes to be lazy. The relationship between this sweet couple very confusing. For some time, Hryundel was even officially married to Masyan, but their marriage did not last long, but the children turned out to be nice. In addition, despite the absence of a stamp in the passport, young people live together. By the way, not a single person in the world could pretend that he liked rotten egg soup with the addition of boiled onions and ferry. For some reason, it is not even surprising that, being a lazy person, Hryundel voluntarily took on the responsibilities of cooking after such a treat . This is how you need to raise a boyfriend, our decent girl spoiled the soup on purpose, there was no point in running away from her to work with the baby!

Shaggy (aka Anton) is a friend of Masyanya and Hrundel. He wasn't tall enough, but nature gave him hair that would make one envious. He received his affectionate nickname for his large amount of hair. Naive. He doesn’t have a permanent girlfriend, maybe precisely because he often watches his friends communicate.

About computer games

You can chat with Masyanya in computer games, just imagine how much fun it is. There are quite a lot of games with the participation of Masyanya and her friends Hryundel and Shaggy. Among them there are puzzles and adventure games, quests and even business strategy. Particularly popular are those games in the creation of which Kuvaev himself took part, but the absence large quantity others are understandable in principle; who wants to go to court again?

Kuvaev not only voiced all the cartoon characters in three quests and business strategies, but also came up with all sorts of jokes and questions for them. All quests are combined with each other general plot, but this does not mean at all that you need to start communicating with Masyanya from the first game, in which Masyanya had the good fortune to work as a journalist. Well, and then you understand, journalistic investigation, a thirst for adventure and the ability to attract attention and troubles, and there are more than enough of them when searching for treasures. Masyanya's game full of Africa became the final part of the series, combining all the best from previous games.

No less troubles, which, by the way, ended with a happy ending, await the heroes on the beach, because in order to get home fun company You first need to earn money for travel. Well, who knew that in warm countries you could be left without suitcases and without a livelihood? It’s good that it’s not to the bears North Pole got caught, otherwise who would sell kebabs and ice cream to? Communication with Masyanya is a unique case when you can start watching even with last episode, it won't be boring, but good mood guaranteed!
