On top we draw a small cherry with a highlight. Then, we combine it with our pile of sweets.
You need to draw short and smooth stripes from the edges of the tubercles. After that, sprinkle our deliciousness in short lines. They should be different and at different angles.
Now we need to draw the stand. Its base should be smaller in width than the treat itself, and then it should gradually widen towards the top. Its upper part will be in the form of zigzags.
We are finalizing our stand by drawing on its surface many vertical lines. Then we connect it to our pile.
Using pencils
In this example we will look at how to draw a cupcake with a pencil, but despite this we will need a black marker or black pen. Also, you definitely need to prepare an eraser; without it, drawing will be much more difficult.
So, let's start with the stand, so in the first step we need to draw a trapezoid. Please note the following, the stand is actually round in shape, so the top line of our trapezoid should be slightly rounded.
The second stage will be drawing the cupcake itself. It will consist of four elements, the higher it is, the narrower in width, and the highest will have a sharp tip.
Let's work on the stand. You need to imagine that you are drawing a fence and make the upper side in the form of sharp peaks, then you need to draw vertical lines down from them, which should not reach the very end.

The basis
If your child does not know what a cupcake is, you can tell them that it is a round-shaped confectionery product. Basically, it's a mini cake. The top of the baked goods is often decorated with cream or icing. Most often, the cupcake can be seen in special paper cups.
The base of the cake is a square. Draw the figure using a ruler, as it should be straight.
Adding the outline of the cup
Since we are drawing the cupcake from the side, we need to show that it is round. Draw two ovals at the top and bottom of the base. The cupcake gradually tapers at the bottom, so the second shape is much smaller. To ensure that it is in the center, we recommend doing the following: measure 2-3 cm from the left and right sides of the base and mark it. Then you can safely draw an oval within these limits.

The ovals are connected by straight lines to form a trapezoid. 
Removing the base
Our baking outlines are ready. You can carefully wipe off the base. 
Cup adjustment
Inner part We erase the bottom oval because the cake is opaque, which means we can’t see this part. 
Side lines of the cup
The side lines of sweetness also need to be erased, because they are not perfectly even. 
The cup is made of special paper in which it is baked. The sweetness rises slightly in the oven. The edges of the cup are curved. Connect the top and bottom again, but with curved lines. 
Erase the bottom part
Usually the cupcakes are small. So we'll change its shape a little. Separate approximately 1 cm of the bottom using horizontal line.
Erase the unnecessary part to make a small glass. 
Drawing a ribbed surface
The surface of the cup is ribbed. We will depict it using vertical lines. 
These parts bend, just like the shape itself. Only the center line remains flat. 
Correcting the upper part
Connect the surface lines with wavy details that will give the drawing volume. 
First layer of cream
Let's get to the tastiest part - the cream. It is placed on the product using a pastry bag, thanks to which the cream lies in beautiful smooth balls. 
Draw top part by using curved lines. Pay close attention to how they should be conducted. 
Finish the first layer with a beautiful ponytail. 
Draw the second layer of cream
Draw a round line to mark the end of the first ball. 
Make the top more voluminous by adding another line. Don't forget about smooth curves. 
The more lines of cream you draw, the more beautiful the cupcake will look. 
If you look closely, you can see the line of the cup. It needs to be erased. Choose a thin eraser to avoid damaging your drawing.

Let's outline both figures with continuous, clear lines. We will draw the lower part of the cupcake with even longitudinal lines; they are located not very intensively at an equal distance from each other.
Step 4
Lightly shade the cupcake. First, draw the contours of the shadow, then shade it. As you can see, the light falls on the cupcake from the left, which means we will apply shadows on the right. Actually, the shadows are applied using regular shading.
