The KVN game, once appeared on screens, has been winning the hearts of viewers for more than half a century. Despite the fact that the game was intended as a student game, people of all ages watch it with great pleasure. And it's easy to explain. For many years now, the game has remained unchanged: the humor of the teams is unobtrusive, and its permanent leader, Alexander Maslyakov, continues its wonderful traditions. During its existence, the game has acquired an international scope.
KVN gave a start to many famous Russian stars. Garik Kharlamov, Yuliy Gusman, Pavel Volya, Leonid Yakubovich, Alexey Kortnev, Mikhail Shats, Timur Rodriguez, Pavel Pushnoy, Mikhail Galustyan and many, many others participated in KVN at different times. The path of these guys successfully continues in various projects, but from time to time they return to the alumni meeting and play with great pleasure.

RUDN University team
Before the appearance of the star team “RUDN National Team”, the “Children of Lumumba” team competed from the Peoples’ Friendship University. Her first appearance on stage took place almost 20 years ago, back in 1998. The team included representatives from other countries who had never taken part in KVN games before. It was new and fresh. The audience received them with pleasure.
In 2001, RUDN University held a full-scale competition to identify cheerful and resourceful people to participate in KVN. Needless to say, there were a lot of people who wanted to join the team.
Gradually, a final group of participants was created from the total number, which became known as “Samurai of the City of Yokohama, Kawasaki Prefecture.” But the “Children of Lumumba” also decided not to lag behind; the composition of this KVN RUDN team has undergone some changes. So the university acquired two full-fledged strong squads of players. Equal in strength. Two new groups take part in the KVN festival, held in 2001. Then it becomes clear that there are too many groups, and their general concept is too similar. Soon the decision is made to concentrate on one single team. The Yokohama Samurai wins the tournament between the teams.
The boys' further journey continues in the Euroleague. This is where the team makes the final decision on the name. From now on to this day, the KVN troupe is called “RUDN National Team”.

Sangadzhi Tarbaev

He was the captain of that very star cast of KVN RUDN University. Born in the Kalmyk Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1982. He graduated from the university in 2005, studied at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Under his leadership, the team won the big KiViN in light, the small KiViN in dark, the small KiViN in gold, the big KiViN in gold, became the winner of the KVN Euroleague, champions of the Major League, and winners of the Summer Cup. Sangaji also managed to try his hand at political activities. He is the Chairman of the Commission for Support of Youth Initiatives of the RF OP.
Ashot Keshchyan
Director and actor of the television series “Give Youth” and the equally famous TNT series “Univer”. Acted as director of the films “Nannies”, “Shadows of Ancestors”, “Moms”, etc.

The team captain is quite young, born in 1992, but has long been actively involved in the activities of the Club of Cheerful and Resourceful People. I got into big KVN from the Junior League. He was a member of the staff of the Faculty of Law. In 2010, he entered the KVN Major League for the first time.
Under his command, the team received the Maly KiViN in gold.

The harbinger of the bright RUDN team in 1998 was the group “Children of Lumumba”.
It was they who, at the winter format of the Sochi Festival, made it clear to fans of this game that at the Russian Peoples' Friendship University they not only know about KVN, but also play with pleasure.
The team was sharply different from others, but the main thing was for the first time in the history of the Club, Africans performed in its composition. The guys, of course, looked exotic, but that was not the main thing about them.
The main thing is that they joked very interestingly, albeit not in completely pure, but still in Russian. In the future, “Children of Lumumba” were able to receive “KiViNa in Light” and the Moscow Cup. True, they could not achieve anything more and many spectators decided that they would never see such a team again. How wrong they were!
In 2000, RUDN University decided to hold the first internal KVN tournament in its history.. A lot of guys enthusiastically began to participate in new teams, but of course their level can only be called amateur. Gradually, leaders emerged and very soon, on the basis of the teams of one of the faculties, a new, as it seemed then, strong team was formed.
It was called "Samurai of Yokogamma City, Kawasaki Prefecture." At the same time, “Children of Lumumba” also radically updated its composition. Now within RUDN there were two full-fledged, interesting teams. Moreover, they consisted not only of black students, but also representatives of a number of other nations.
That is, these were the first truly international teams. Both of these teams go to the Sochi Festival 2001. As a result, “Children of Lumumba” are sent to the Northern League, and “Samurai” to the First. The teams play rather unevenly, not one of them was anything special.
At some point, it became clear that two teams were too many for one individual university. A small tournament is organized inside RUDN between these teams and as a result, “Samurai” are sent to the KiViN-2002 team festival in Sochi. After it, the team moves to the so-called Euroleague, which is based in Miska, Belarus.
After the first games the team is invited to Jurmala and it is here the guys go on stage for the first time under the name “RUDN University Team”.
Here they receive the “KiViN in the Dark” figurine and begin their victorious march, which will lead them to the rank of the most star-studded and audience-favorite teams.

The very first season here, in the League that every KV player dreams of, the guys not only reach the finals, but take third place there! The second season turned out to be less successful - at first RUDN University is eliminated from the competition and only the decision of the jury brings them back. Then everything worked out as expected - the guys’ humor led them to second place in the Major League!
But after this, the team captain, while on stage at the KiViN-2005 festival in Sochi, suddenly announced that “RUDN University team”... takes a break in its career.
Fans of the team decided that this was nothing more than a joke.
Only it turned out that this was not the case, the team actually took a break for the whole season. True, the guys did not sit still!
They organized large-scale tours throughout Russia and Ukraine, tried themselves in other KVN projects, including “Outside the Game,” and visited the next music festival in Jurmala. And it was precisely this year that a new team “RUDNIK” appeared at the university that was native to the children, which the senior comrades gladly supervised and protected.
In 2006, the team again appeared in Major League games.. A year's rest from competition, new emotions from travel played their role - the RUDN National Team became an unconditional finalist and won quite easily. On this high note, the team decided to stop playing and they violated their decision only once, in 2014. This season the team almost creakingly reached the semi-finals, but no more.

Andrew Njogu Mwai born October 22, 1981 in Kenya. The team's first appearance took place in Sochi. Finding yourself
In 1998, a unique and original KVN team was created at the University - “Children of Lumumba”. She immediately created a sensation. And it’s not surprising: it consisted of only Africans, who also tried to joke in Russian.
The dramatic rise of "Children of Lumumba" ended in the same collapse just 2 years later. By that time, everyone was tired of the team’s black-and-white humor, but “Children” failed to offer the audience anything radically new and original. At that time, many gave up on the KVN RUDN team. And they were wrong.
In 2000, the university again began searching for people who would join the RUDN University KVN team. The cast of "Children of Lumumba" was updated to include white-skinned children. In addition, they created a more multinational team with the original name “Samurai of Yokohama City, Kawasaki Prefecture.”
Both teams took part in the Sochi festival 2001. They played unevenly: sometimes they won, sometimes they lost. Each of the teams wanted to continue their careers, but the university management stated that only one of them could represent the university. As a result, it was decided to hold a tournament between teams within the university. As a result, Samurai went to KiViN-2002, and they won the right to participate in the Euroleague.
First successes
2002 was the first full-fledged season in which the RUDN University KVN team announced itself. Its composition continues to be supplemented with new bright personalities who constantly bring original images to the game. For the first time since Lumumba's Children, the game becomes successful.
Finally, the guys were noticed and invited to the “Voting KiViN” in Jurmala. Everyone knows that this is a much higher level of play. The team comes here under the general name “RUDN KVN Team”. Its composition becomes more or less constant. The team's success was phenomenal: the guys took "KiViN in Black" and were given the honorable right to close the gala concert.
Unfortunately, in the fall of 2002, RUDN lost in the semifinals. But the jury members choose them as the third team to the final. And they turn out to be absolutely right: the team becomes the champion of the Euroleague 2002. And at KiVi-2003, RUDN University qualified for the Major League for the first time.
After two more years of successful performances at the Sochi KiVi-2005, right from the stage, the RUDN University KVN team, whose composition had finally become ideal, announced that it was taking a time out in its performances. Naturally, fans were shocked.

Like many teams, the team of Peoples' Friendship University produced a considerable number of successful guys who gained enormous popularity. This is not a complete list of those who once played for RUDN KVN. The team boasts the following members:

The present
In 2011, the team's fans were delighted. She suddenly appeared on “Voting KiViN” and performed so successfully that she took gold.
Today, the RUDN University team successfully traveled all over the country and beyond. The guys give concerts that draw full houses of people. They visited many countries where their performances were also a resounding success.
In 2014, the RUDN KVN team appeared on the stage again. Its composition has now been updated by hitherto unknown young talents who are studying at the Peoples' Friendship University. It is unclear whether they will be as successful, but anything is possible.
One of the most successful KVN teams can be called the RUDN team. This has happened in the past. Whether it will be the same in the future is still unknown to anyone. One thing can be said with confidence: RUDN KVN has already left its mark on the Planet.
