One of the main attributes of the Spring Equinox holiday is the Egg. Recipe for approximately 30 larks:

• dry yeast 10 g
• 1 tsp salt
• 2-3 tbsp. Sahara
• 3 tbsp. sunflower oil
• 2-3 tbsp. vodka
• 1 kg flour

How to cook:

Dilute 10 g of dry yeast in 2 glasses of warm water, add 1 tsp. salt, 2-3 tbsp. l. sugar and 3 tbsp sunflower oil. To make the dough rise better, pour in 2-3 tbsp. l. vodka. After sifting through a sieve, add flour (about 1 kg). Knead the dough and leave it to rise in a warm place for 1 hour. The easiest way is to roll a piece of dough the size of a tennis ball into a “sausage” and tie it in a knot. Form a head and beak at one end of the knot, and flatten the other end of the knot. Cut the flattened part of the “tail” in several places with a knife, as if decorating it with feathers.

Maslenitsa or its more ancient predecessor Komoeditsa among the Slavs, Navruz in Muslim countries, Catholic carnivals in Venice, Rome and Rio de Janeiro.

Information about relatively recent traditions, their meaning and ways of celebrating the vernal equinox can be found in modern books and articles.

I began to wonder what happened even earlier, several thousand years ago. What rituals were performed then and what their significance was.

So, with the 1st year students of the Institute of Reincarnation, we set off on this journey.

Spring Equinox Day for Priestesses

On this day there is a balance between night and day. Afterwards the day grows. This is a kind of zero line, after which spring begins, the new year, nature, trees, birds wake up.

In the incarnation of the priestess, preparations for the day of the spring equinox lasted the whole day.

Women's practices on the day of the spring equinox

Some study participants found themselves in a much more ancient time - 40 thousand years ago. This is the period of the so-called Vedic culture of the peoples who are the ancestors of the Slavs.

Do not be surprised that the following stories will focus on rituals associated with herbs. According to our research, at that time the climate very different from modern.

I am in the body of a young girl with uncombed hair. The ritual begins at night. We go to bed early and wake up before dawn.

This is the most powerful time.

Mature girls (13 of us) undergo this ritual in an open field under the light of the full moon.

Its meaning is fertility, the health of the unborn child, filling the female body with strength. We communicate mentally, with our glances, being in a semi-meditative state with our request.

We stand in a circle that enhances our feminine energies, creating a unified space. We place each girl in turn in the center of the circle with her personal request.

We wear clothes made from herbs that enrich our bodies, enhance the ability to feel nature, our chosen one and our inclinations in this life. For me it's communication with animals.

My great-grandmother wove my grass outfit, my grandmother helped her. She collects herbs, knowing all their subtle energies, soaks it. Before putting on these clothes, I douse myself with the water in which the herbs were soaked.

Being in the center of the circle, I want to establish a connection with the goddess of moonlight (we call her Nima), to feel her energies. I have a betrothed, I will have a family, I know what kind of children I will have. But this is not enough for me, I want something deeper spiritual connection with the goddess.

All the girls are very spiritual and I feel it. From them comes a blessing and a sincere desire to realize my intention. There is absolutely no envy.

And this blessing is complemented by the power and light of the full moon, which gives it to us, people. This helps me in realizing my dreams.

Afterwards we bring prayer of gratitude to the moon and we go to the river. This happens already at dawn.

We put on our clothes and later bury the grass in the place where we live so that it fills the plants that grow there with the energy of our body.

We all step into running water together so that it took away all the past in order to stay in the moment here and now.

Water teaches us that the most important moment is the present.

She is alive, I feel like she is teaching me just like my grandmother and great-grandmother. I'm shaking all over with excitement. And I feel great gratitude to water: I live by it, I drink it every day, I look in it like in a mirror.

And she teaches me how, without grumbling or pretension, without expecting respect, she washes and waters the whole world, every living creature. She does great things without asking for anything in return.

This knowledge fills me, and its depth amazes me.

This is what I wanted - this divine knowledge– you love without expecting anything in return, giving all of yourself and your love endlessly, and it never ends! Water teaches me this.

Herbs in wreaths have special meaning

Natalya Nagornaya recalls:

I am in the body of a woman on the river bank. Dense grass. Two younger girls are sitting next to me. We weave wreaths.

They are not simple - they are for women who need it. The second half of the day, the sun is no longer hot. There is a towel on the grass. A woman, a widow, comes and stands on him.

The girls weave the base of the wreath, and I weave, saying, wormwood, so that remove the bitterness of loss and harmonize it. I put a wreath on her head. Energy flowed from the wreath around her and through her. It is given for the whole year.

Over the course of the year, her condition should be harmonized. She stands there for a while and leaves.

Other single women come, but the cases are different: a widow, not yet married. I also weave special herbs into them. The wreath is then hung at the head of the bed. Herbs from it can be used for infusions and drunk.

I also have a wreath on my head - in the form of limitless dandelions with golden rays going up and crossing above the wreath. It contains a wide variety of herbs. Physically it is a wreath, but energetically it is similar to a crown.

All this day, while the sun was bright, its energy filled my wreath.

And then I pass it on to women according to their needs, harmonizing them in the right areas. And I myself am also charged with this sun.

Unmarried I weaved mint and raspberries so that her speech is sweet and there is a balance of coolness and sweetness, there are no excesses in one direction or the other, so that harmonize the energies of femininity.

The girl looks more like a teenage boy. The wreath will give her more femininity.

Another woman is arguing with her husband. I weave dull nettles into her. This will fill her with peace, when she swears and the masculine principle takes over.

I weave long grass, similar to sedge, into a 9-year-old girl along with other herbs. I pass on my knowledge to her, although I have two daughters a little older than her. The baby's knowledge is revealed from birth.

And I, together with my teenage daughters, 9 and 13 years old, will teach her. That girl is growing up in a family with a rude, domineering father, and in order to harmonize her, I weave sedge into her.

The wreath is too big for her, but as soon as her posture changes, she seems to become a little taller.

It is good to make an infusion from mint and raspberries. It will give calm and harmonization. This will be similar to the effect girls get with a wreath.

How plants help children discover their qualities

Aelita K. recalls:

I see myself as a very old man with gray hair, sitting in a clearing. I have plants on my lap. Children of 5-6 years old come up to me one by one. And I give them some kind of plant as a gift and a symbol of the coming year.

I give another boy a jagged, dandelion-like leaf with a bitter taste - to feel the balance of bitterness in plants, to be able to recognize bitter plants that are not eaten, but can heal, influence a person’s energy.

The girl was given inflorescences of white damselfish - so that don't be afraid to tell the truth people, do not be afraid to cause pain with your words. The truth is necessary, it brings benefits and does not necessarily burn.

The children proudly show off their gifts and assignments to the families waiting for them nearby.

On the day of the autumn equinox, the guys will gather again, and each will tell everyone in front of everyone what he discovered in this plant.

They find a deeper meaning and thus gradually determine their future path of development. This is done once in a lifetime like initiation.

The Druids' Day of the Vernal Equinox

North-west France. I am a Druid - an old man in light robes, standing on the top of a hill in front of a stone, facing the sunrise at dawn. There are people standing behind. I hold in my hands a wooden boat with heather. I lift it up above my head.

People get down on one knee. I say a sun salutation. This is the energy of the Dagaz rune - the rune of transformation and the beginning of a new day. I salute the Maiden of the Dawn. I see her with a wide braid, sparkling armor and a sword in her hands.
