1. Don't try to buy an expensive gift. Children do not understand that a dear one is certainly a good one. They may be happy with simple, inexpensive toys if they like the item. In this matter, do not forget about quality.
2. Do not give gifts “for the future,” that is, those that the child cannot use now. For example, if you give a two-wheeled bicycle to a two-year-old child, he will appreciate it only after a couple of years, and there will be no joy from the gift, rather, sheer frustration.

It’s useful to think about a gift together and discuss it. Is the 101st car really so necessary, or is it better to make a homemade garage or auto track for the existing 100 cars? Collaborative creativity and the time spent with parents will bring the child much more joy and happiness than the next 101st gifted car.
