Tricks with people. Revealing the secrets of famous tricks

The secrets of magic tricks have always aroused our imagination and interest. Even as children, we believed that somewhere in the world there was real magic, and even as adults, many of us, somewhere in the depths of our souls, retained at least a small part of this hope. This is why magic tricks are so popular all over the world: they allow a person to plunge into the world of mystery and, at least for a few minutes, believe that miracles really exist.

Secrets must remain secrets

Among illusionists there is a rule not to divulge the secrets of tricks, although not everyone follows it. One of the most famous magicians in the world, Harry Houdini, himself personally told the public how some of his magic tricks are performed. And the Safronov brothers, now popular in Russia and the CIS countries, even hosted a program on Channel One, where they showed the disclosure of the secrets of many tricks, for which, by the way, they were expelled from the Society of Illusionists.

But this is rather an exception to the rule. And at a time when many tricks are just sleight of hand, and even a simple schoolchild can solve them, there are also secrets of magic tricks that not only spectators, but also other professional illusionists have been struggling with for many years to no avail. Having become acquainted with the principle of performing classic tricks, perhaps you will be the one who will unravel the secret of their execution in the future.

Levitation

One of the tricks that has amazed audiences for many decades not only on stages, but also right on the street. The secret of the trick lies in a hidden mechanism that lifts the magician.

You can note that under the illusionist, even if he performs in an open space, there is always a mat, an assistant or some kind of platform, under which the main heavy part of the device is hidden.

Its other flexible part is hidden under clothes that are quite spacious to hide not only it, but also a small seat.

Torn bill

There are many variations of this trick, but the classic version used a pencil, with which the bill was torn in two, and then appeared whole again in front of the audience.

The secret of the trick is in the pencil: it consisted of two halves magnetized to each other, between which, thanks to sleight of hand, the piece of paper slipped easily.

Cutting in half

One of the most well-known tricks, which now also has a lot of different performances.

But the classic magic of trickery is more than simple: the box consists of two separate sections, in one of which the assistant is already hidden in advance.

During the cutting, the saw passes between them, and the audience essentially sees parts of the bodies of different people.

Catching a bullet with your mouth

A fairly simple trick, which nevertheless led to several disastrous cases throughout the history of its existence.

Of course, it is impossible to catch a bullet with your teeth, and, as many viewers guess, the weapon is fired with a blank cartridge.

The most common version of the execution is this: the bullet that the audience is given to sign is not real, and while an image is being applied to it, cameras film this process in close-up, transmitting it to screens behind the stage.

The assistants who are there quickly repeat on another bullet an inscription similar to the one applied by the viewer, and smear it as if it had actually been in the barrel.

Metamorphosis

This was the name of the famous Houdini trick that he performed with his wife.

She tied his hands, placed him in a bag and locked him in a box, which she hid behind a curtain, where she herself disappeared. There she clapped three times, the curtain fell, and it turned out that Houdini was already free, and his wife was in the box.

The secret of magic lies in simple skill and practice. Knowing perfectly how to handle different types of knots and ropes, the magician's hands were free already at the moment when he was placed in the bag.

It was also possible to easily get out of it through the back panel, and it was no longer his wife who clapped her hands, who at that time was doing the opposite of his actions, but he himself.

Through constant training, the couple learned to perform all these actions in just three seconds.

Hello again!

Sergey Kulikov, aka Sailor, is in touch with you again!

Many people often search on the Internet for something like “revealing the secrets of magic tricks” and so on. In this article I will tell you the secret of one very cool trick!

This trick is called “Return to Fat City” or “Return to Fat City”. And it was invented by a very inventive magician John Bannon, who is famous for many of his signature tricks.

This trick is an ideal find for those people who have just embarked on the path of a professional magician and want to approach the study of this interesting genre as competently as possible.

Because the most important thing in presenting a trick is the pattern, that is, verbal accompaniment or a certain story. So, this trick is simply impossible to show without a story. The viewer simply will not understand anything.

Thus, by training this trick, you will undoubtedly significantly increase your magic level to a new level. And at the same time, your communication skills will improve.

It will be incredibly useful to teach this trick to a child. It will become much easier for him to communicate with people and easier to find a common language with anyone.

So, enough chatter, let's get to the trick itself!

We tell the viewer a story that there is an infinite number of different cities in the world. But there is one very unusual city, it is called Fat City. And this is our deck of cards.

In this city, two very brave fat cops serve - Fat Jack and Fat Kolyok :) In a deck of cards these are Black Jacks.

One dark evening, one very ordinary fat resident went for a walk around Fat City. At this moment we invite the viewer to choose any card.

But after that, this resident got lost in this city and was never seen again. Now we remove the spectator’s card into the deck and begin to shuffle it to lose the card chosen by the spectator.

And at this very moment our fat cops come into play!

They're going to work!

They need to find what's missing. We put these Jacks together and put them in the center of the deck.

We snap our finger and tell the viewer that they have never set us up before and they did their job honestly and efficiently.

We look through the deck and see that there is one card between the two Jacks. We take it out and turn it over and it is... really the spectator's card!

Our fat cops did their job!

But our fat resident turned out to be a rather unlucky fellow. He disappears again!

And the fat cops are reluctant to take up their jobs again!

But this time our fat resident completely disappeared from the city! And there is no longer any chance of finding him. However, fat cops will still endlessly comb the entire city.

During these words, we lay out the deck on the table with a ribbon and the viewer sees that one of the Jacks lies at the top, the other at the bottom of the deck. And we only have one card left in our hands - the spectator's card!

This trick perfectly demonstrates how important the pattern is in performing almost any trick.

If you want to play with the viewer, show not just a trick, but a real story. And an unusual story, as well as a really smart and interesting one, then this trick will be a real find for you!

You will create a real show that will be interesting to watch and listen to absolutely any viewer. Of course, if they themselves want it :) You should not impose this on those who are not interested in it and if they are not ready to listen to you.

We all freeze in anticipation of the next “magic” when we watch the deft hands of a magician. At this moment, it seems to us that the illusionists have real magic, and the atmosphere that they create at the performances does not even allow us to doubt their abilities. Bright Side and I have exposed 6 of the most famous tricks.

Secret No. 1. Sawing a woman

Do you remember how, as a child, you watched with bated breath a terrible picture of a woman being sawed? Nowadays you won’t surprise us with such tricks; almost everyone knows: the “sorcerer” has two assistants hidden in his box.

Secret No. 2. Torn bill

Previously, people were perplexed when Copperfield, right in front of people, tore a dollar folded in half, then unfolded it and it turned out to be whole. And the secret here is in a cleverly designed pencil: in fact, it is cut diagonally and connected with strong magnets! Thus, the bill easily passes between its magnetized halves and remains unharmed.

Secret No. 3. Levitation

The secret to this popular trick among street magicians lies in a carefully hidden prop. That is why these “wizards” often appear in an image with which the staff is in perfect harmony: after all, it has a continuation that runs through all the clothes.

Secret No. 4. The disappearance of the glass

A glass of water is placed on the table, which is then covered with a scarf. Then the glass is lifted and thrown into the air, the result: the scarf falls to the floor and the glass disappears. And here’s the trick: firstly, a wire ring is sewn into the scarf, which creates the illusion that there is a glass under the scarf. And secondly, the glass itself is lowered into a secret bag through a tricky hole in the table.

Secret No. 5. Zigzag Girl

In this trick, everything largely depends on the assistant herself. Her main task is to position herself in the cramped space of the closet intended for her, but at the same time so that her hand and foot maintain the natural position of an upright person.

Secret #6: Michael Jackson Lean

Everyone probably remembers the spectacular bend that Michael and his dancers performed when performing the song “Smooth Criminal.” It looked incredible because the tilt was made by a straight body and at an acute angle of 45 degrees. The secret here lies in boots with a specially shaped heel and a cunning stage arrangement. After all, it was precisely because pegs appeared on its surface that the heel clung and allowed the artists to perform the maneuver.

Guessing the magic number. This is a simple trick in which the magician asks a person to do simple mathematical calculations, which leads him to almost the same answer every time. Here's what you should tell the viewer:

  • “Come up with any number from 2 to 10.”
  • "Multiply it by 9."
  • “Add the first digit of this number to the second.”
  • “Subtract 4 from the result.”
  • “Remember the new number - this is your secret number!”
  • “Now guess the letter of the alphabet corresponding to this number. That is, if you get 1, then this is the letter A; 2 - letter B and so on."
  • “Think of a European country that starts with that letter.”
  • “For the 3rd letter of this country, wish for a large animal.”
    • When the viewer has followed all your instructions, simply say, “I know what you're thinking... it's the number 5 and the rhinoceros in Denmark!” This should work every time.
  • Guessing the magic vegetable. This simple trick almost always works. All you need are pieces of paper, pens and a few gullible spectators. To begin, place one piece of paper labeled “cucumber” in your left pocket, and a second piece of paper labeled “tomato” in your right pocket. Remember where you put each piece of paper. You're ready to start focusing:

    • To begin, distribute paper and pens to all interested viewers.
    • Ask them to do some simple math calculations, such as multiplying 2 by 2, dividing 10 by 5, adding 3 and 3, and so on. You can say that this is a preparatory stage before mind reading.
    • Then say: “Quickly write the name of the vegetable!” Make sure people do it as quickly as possible; don't let anyone think too long.
    • Call a random spectator and ask them to name the recorded name of the vegetable.
    • If he says “cucumber,” pull the piece of paper that says “cucumber” out of your left pocket. If he says "tomato", pull out the piece of paper with the word "tomato" written on it from your right pocket. Tell the audience that your ability to read minds is so advanced that you were able to predict what they would write before the trick itself began.
    • People in Russia choose one of these vegetables in most cases. If the person doesn't name one of these two vegetables, then you'll have to quickly move on to another trick! If you live in another country with different common vegetables, you'll have to look for your own "magic vegetable."
  • Guess the name of a famous person. This is a fairly simple trick, but may take a little time. All you need is a hat, about 10 spectators, a pen, something to write your prediction on, and as many sheets of paper as there will be people present. Here's what you should do:

    • Ask a member of the audience to name a celebrity.
    • Write the first name on a piece of paper and throw it into the hat.
    • Ask others to name celebrities.
    • Pretend that you are writing down each name, when in reality you will only be writing down the first name over and over again. This is something that takes practice.
    • When the hat is full, ask someone from the audience to help you.
    • Say you can predict what name he will pull out of the hat. Of course you will predict the first name. Write it on a board for everyone to see.
    • Ask the spectator to take any piece of paper from the hat. All viewers will see that the first name is written there and, lo and behold, you made the correct prediction!
