The veterinarian who examined the lamb explained that although the stillborn animal indeed resembles a human, this creature has nothing to do with people and, in all likelihood, became a victim of Rift Valley fever.

“The sheep contracted Rift Valley fever during early pregnancy. There are all the signs that early fetal development was abnormal due to a viral infection,” the doctor explained.

He also emphasized that sheep have 27 pairs of chromosomes, while humans have 23 pairs, so, of course, we are not talking about any “half-man, half-sheep.” The veterinarian assured that an autopsy will definitely be carried out, and its results will be made public especially for those residents of Lady Frere who believe in “witchcraft.”
