Tiesto's performance was also highly praised at MayDay and Nature One. But, like all the greats of the music industry, he went through a hard school of life before reaching the heights. During these years, Tiesto was an ordinary DJ at the Amsterdam party, and then worked on the stage of cheap nightclubs in Germany and England. His first success came in 1996, when there was a breakthrough in the Dutch Trance/House sound, led by such legendary figures as Vincent De Moor and Ferry Corsten.

His interest in music began very early; at the age of 12 he was already composing something. When he was 14 years old he was already playing at the local club "The Spock" on Fridays and Saturdays from 22.00 to 4.00 in the morning! At that time, Breda was not the center of House music, but this created his style of music and the resulting "Tiesto sound". There were other DJs, so he wasn't influenced by anyone else's style. Spock is a very small club, but very extravagant, like the Roxy. There was room for 200 people. "It didn't matter if it was less crowded, I could do what he wanted. The "isolation" from other DJs was only useful. I could develop my music and myself." At the beginning of his career, he played Acid House, New beat and some of Madonna. Since November 1999 he has played every month at Gatecrasher, the most famous club in England. “Gatecrasher is amazing! When you stand there, you see an ocean of people. It's like a tin can filled with people. Gatecrasher isn't very big, but up to 25,000 people can hang out there. And the public believes you so much! If you're a little depressed while you're playing, they literally save you. They love the breaks, when the beat stops they start screaming and yelling, clapping their hands like the English football team has scored a penalty! It gives you the feeling as if you are giving a concert. The interaction between Gatecrasher and the audience is very special."

Despite his amazing success in his work, Tijs Verwes is the same guy he was before. He wants to do something good for the people who were already his friends before his meteoric rise. In the autumn of 1999 he founded a record shop called "Magik the recordshop" in the center of his home town Breda in West-Brabant. Together with Arny, his business partner, he also founded the Blackhole Recordings label. The Forbidden Paradise series and the Guardian Angel label were Arny's idea.

He then released a number of singles under various aliases, such as Allure, Drumfire, Hammock Brothers, Paradise in Dubs, Passenger, Roze, Stray Dog, Tom Ace and Wild Bunch.

In 2000, the collection “Summerbreeze” was released, which featured Tiesto’s remix of the composition “Silence” by the British group Delirium. His success was simply phenomenal. “Silence” spent 4 weeks at the top of the UK charts and reached third place on the American Billboard chart.

In 2004, DJ Tiesto was invited to the opening of the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, where he played a 90-minute set. This is the highest achievement for a DJ.

In August 2005, Tiesto played for thousands of fans in the United States, namely in Los Angeles and California. The performance was organized in a stadium that was completely filled with clubbers. For the second year in a row, Tiësto celebrated the New Year at the console, playing live first in Las Vegas, then in Nevada. However, the 2005 tour was immediately overshadowed by Tiesto's performance at the largest festival in Holland today, "Sensation White", where the number of dancers broke all records and amounted to 45 thousand people. But this event also faded into the background after a summer performance in Brazil, on the banks of Ipanema, in front of 250,000 people. It is the second largest worldwide concert in human history, after Robie Williams' concert.

Years of early creativity

He pushed the future turntable master onto the musical path in his teens Ben Lybrand. His on-air assortments of fragments from a variety of songs created unusual remixes. And Thijs wanted to try to do the same himself. The boy made his first musical recordings at the age of 12. Then I started playing records at parties. And then his name Thijs, with the light hand of his friends, sounded in the Italian manner - Tiesto.

Own label and "Magik Muzik"

Plunging headlong into writing his own music, Tiesto only strengthened his image as a talented person. The house direction was in tune with his soul and mood. When Tiesto woke up famous

What musician doesn't dream of being famous? For Tiësto, this happened in the fall of 1998, after his performance at the grand Innercity festival in Amsterdam. In the Netherlands alone, the 100,000th edition of the disc of the same name sold out instantly! The same picture was observed in other countries. His name never left the lips of music lovers from all over the world. There were rave reviews posted online. So the club DJ, having appeared on a grandiose stage, immediately won hundreds of thousands of ardent hearts and gained new fans.

Tiësto opens the “long” set

Not a day without creativity and creation

2007 was an incredibly eventful year for Tiesto: a party on the city beach of Rio de Janeiro, which was attended by almost 200 thousand people; tour of Latin America, release of the new album “Elements of Life” (which became a Dutch Golden Disc on the first day of sales); the beginning of an almost two-year worldwide tour with the presentation of a new mix of the “In Search Of Sunrise” series - accompanied by famous musicians and vocalists .

In 2009, the collection of albums was supplemented by “Kaleidoscope”, in the creation of which Jónsi Birgisson, Emily Hines, Nelly Furtado and Kele Okereke participated. The album contains music of different styles.

In 2012, DJ Tiesto accompanied the British debut of the Skoda Citigo. At the same time, Tiesto began collaborating with Guess, whose specialists developed a long-term project. The company's stores, opened around the world, have already presented a collection of watches in the style of Tiesto by Guess and fashionable collections of men's and women's clubwear, created according to the sketches of the DJ in his own company CLVB LIFE.
