Open a workshop from scratch. Open a profitable production from scratch: ideas for businessmen

* The calculations use average data for Russia

To open your own business producing cinder blocks, 250 thousand rubles will be enough. An entrepreneur will need a minimum set of equipment: a vibrating sieve for cleaning raw materials from foreign impurities, a concrete mixer for preparing the mixture, a vibrating machine for forming blocks. To place the equipment, a room with a flat concrete floor and an area of 100 to 150 square meters is suitable. meters.

A new and promising direction for the Russian market is the production and sale of cheese in the format of artisan cheese dairies. There are few competitors in this area, although the demand for “premium-format” cheeses is gradually growing, and the population of large cities in the country is interested in gastronomic novelties and new establishments in the catering sector. To open a mini-cheese factory with a capacity of 20-24 kg of cheese per day, you will need about 670 thousand rubles.

The business of manufacturing and selling cabins requires relatively small investments (from 150 thousand rubles), and the cabins themselves are quite simple to produce and require a minimum amount of materials. The downside of the business is that there is a lot of competition, which has made it much more difficult to make money on the markup.

Used tires can be recycled to produce crumb rubber, fuel oil or carbon black. The business technology consists of collecting tires, transporting them to a warehouse, preliminary cleaning and cutting, processing on special equipment and organizing the storage and delivery of the resulting raw materials. To open a line for processing tires into crumbs with a capacity of up to 400 kg/hour, about 5.7 million rubles will be required.

Furniture production is a business whose profitability can reach 300%. The growth driver for furniture sales is the growth in housing construction and the number of purchase and sale transactions in the residential real estate market. To create a small production with a total area of 350 sq. meters (production shops + sales office) will require 1.13 million rubles. The payback period will be 8 months.

Modular buildings can be used as change houses, mobile office buildings, trade pavilions, country houses, as well as full-fledged residential buildings, so the audience of buyers is quite wide. You can start such a business with a starting capital of 2.05 million rubles. Payback - from 6 months.

Alloy wheels popular today are divided into two types: cast and forged. Both the technology and the final product vary in price and quality. Many people are seriously interested in edged weapons and are ready not only to buy ancient examples of historical value, but also replicas of modern masters. To open such a business and provide it with technological capabilities, about 1.5 million rubles will be required.

Due to the low cost of producing church candles (just a few kopecks per candle), the trade margin on them can reach 3000%. To open a workshop with equipment capable of producing 50 candles per hour, 756 thousand rubles will be enough. Another thing is that the production of church candles can hardly become manna from heaven and make an entrepreneur rich. The market, as they say, has long been “divided,” and without connections with church representatives it will be almost impossible to promote your products to churches.

Ready ideas for your business

Most often, the production of cans is carried out directly by canned food manufacturers, however, given the growth rate of the industry, they need additional capacity. To open an enterprise for the production of solid metal cans for packaging canned products with a capacity of 528,000 products per month for sale to fish canning factories, about 11.17 million rubles will be required, which can be recouped by the beginning of the second year of operation.

Due to the poor quality of roads and the need for their reconstruction, the need for asphalt concrete in many regions of Russia is beyond doubt. To organize a plant with a capacity of up to 100 tons/hour, about 26 million rubles will be required.

The production of asphalt concrete mixture can be organized in a cheaper way - on the basis of a mobile concrete plant with an investment of 6.8 million rubles. Surprisingly, you can start in this area with a minimum capital of 60 thousand rubles and on a minimum area of 20 square meters. meters.

Busy boards are entertaining and educational toys for children from 1 to 5 years old, which are boards, stands or modules on which various objects are attached that the child can interact with (twist, knock, open, tie/untie, turn on/off and so on). This item is very popular today among all kinds of children's centers and clubs. The cost of business boards is quite low (you can make business boards yourself from scrap materials), so you can set a high markup of 300% or more on the finished product.

Despite the fact that the bulk of animal feed is produced by the largest international players, small regional players still have a chance to develop in the low price segment through the use of inexpensive labor, locally produced raw materials, and inexpensive equipment aimed at small production volumes. Setting up an enterprise for the production of dry granulated food for dogs and cats will be capital-intensive, but the dynamics of the dry food market indicate the prospects of this area.

To launch the production of metal-plastic windows and door structures in the economy segment with a production capacity of 900-1000 sq. meters per month you will need about 1.79 million rubles (when purchasing used equipment). You can recoup your investment in 7 months of work.

Consumers are showing increasing interest in purchasing natural juices that do not have additives and retain the maximum number of vitamins. Opening the production of natural juice (directly pressed) with a capacity of up to 8,000 liters per shift (1,000 l/hour) for wholesale distribution through distribution companies will require about 5.62 million rubles. Such production will be most relevant in the south of Russia, where there are a large number of suppliers of fruits and vegetables.

Goat milk is a rare product on store shelves. There is no mass culture of goat milk consumption in Russia. However, healthy eating trends could open up a new avenue for business. The production of goat milk and dairy products is most appropriate near large markets and cities with a population of over a million. Start-up costs for a small but automated production will be about 1.38 million rubles.

Reinforcement is one of the materials most used in construction, which is used to strengthen concrete building parts and structures. Traditionally, steel reinforcement is used for this, the production of which is very expensive, moreover, it is unstable to corrosion, has a high mass and other disadvantages. Fiberglass reinforcement is a modern alternative that is much lighter, not susceptible to negative environmental influences and cheap to produce. To launch the production of fiberglass reinforcement, about 3.3 million rubles will be required, which can be recouped after 1.5 years of work. Sales are carried out to construction and installation organizations and wholesale warehouses of building materials.

In the context of a ban on expensive foreign delicacies due to anti-Russian sanctions, the production of premium dry-cured meat delicacies from pork and beef could become an interesting and profitable line of business. The production technology does not require specialized equipment, all operations are done manually, due to which investments in starting production are relatively low and amount to 909 thousand rubles. The payback period for the project will be 6 months.

Soap with volcanic ash is very popular today. Volcanic ash has healing properties to combat acne on the face and also eliminates oily skin. Today, such a product has virtually no analogues on the market. To launch a similar project with a productivity of 1000 kg/hour, about 2.7 million rubles will be required.

Do industrial activities appeal to you more than commercial ones? This article will help you learn more about how to open your own production and what to pay attention to at the initial stage.

Step by step to uninterrupted production of in-demand products

Step one: choose a specialization

It is advisable to start production with a narrow specialization. Firstly, this will help reduce start-up investments, and secondly, it will allow you to focus on improving the technological process, producing high-quality products and thus gaining a reputation in the market. There are many options for specialization: from the production of dumplings to the production of plastic windows or paving slabs. Please note that some types of production activities are subject to licensing.

Step two: we form a legal and material base

Depending on the specialization and volume of future production, you can act as an individual entrepreneur or register a legal entity. The last option is the optimal solution for a medium or large manufacturing enterprise. You can accurately answer the question of how much it costs to open a production facility yourself if you calculate the main cost items:

Company registration;

Purchasing or renting premises;

Purchase or rental of equipment;

Hiring staff and paying wages at the first stage, when there is no stable profit;

For example, you decide to produce plastic windows. You will need:

Production room

Spacious workshop with an area of 250–400 sq. meters. It is necessary to take care of good lighting and ventilation. The optimal temperature in the workshop is +18 °C, regardless of the time of year (violation of the temperature regime will lead to difficulties when welding plastic). The gate to the workshop should be wide enough to ensure convenient loading of finished products and unloading of raw materials.

Warehouse space

To store components, fittings and finished products, a dry, ventilated and well-insulated closed warehouse space is required.

The production line consists of cutting, impost, milling machines, equipment for profile welding and corner cleaning. In addition, you will need racks for storing tools and materials. Also needed in the workshop are assembly tables, an air dryer, a compressor and various pneumatic tools.

Step three: we are recruiting staff

A small production needs a boss (foreman) and a team of workers. When hiring workers, give preference to specialists who have experience working on the type of equipment that you have installed. In addition, you will need a storekeeper (this position can be combined), a driver if you plan to deliver your products, and other specialists (for example, installers and measurers).

Where can I get money?

Opening your own production requires significant capital investment and may require a loan. Most types of production activities are regarded by banks as a profitable business, and therefore you can get a targeted loan for business development. Also keep an eye on banking and government programs: you can often get funds on favorable terms. For example, as part of a program for the development of private entrepreneurship or agricultural development.

Underwater rocks

Due to significant start-up costs, the payback period for a manufacturing enterprise can take years. At the initial stage, it is especially important to monitor the distribution of profits and correctly set up accounting and tax reporting.

Let's sum it up

The answer to the question of whether production is profitable depends on how seriously you take its launch and development.

Instructions

The range of mini-production areas is quite wide.

This could be the production of building materials: sand-lime bricks, foam blocks, paving, marble tiles, expanded polystyrene and others.

Food industry: breweries, bakeries, mills, distilleries, cultivation, production of herbal tea, breakfast cereals.

Service area: laundries, dry cleaners.

Other activities: production of plastic packaging, plastic windows, furniture.

Choose what type of small business you would like to start.

If you have a garage, it will be more profitable for you to produce building materials; the equipment necessary for this has minimal dimensions, so it can easily fit in.

You can also grow mushrooms, provided that a certain temperature is constantly maintained.

Mini-production in the food industry implies the presence of specially equipped workshops, in compliance with SES standards.

The production of windows and furniture requires special bulky equipment, so they require a large area.

Develop a business plan, decide on the amount of initial capital. Check out small business plans offered online. Consult with people you know who are experienced in this matter; they may know about some pitfalls that you may not take into account when drawing up a business plan.

Find funds to start production. If the required amount is already available, this is a huge plus, and the issue of financing disappears.

When there is no initial capital at all, borrow money from friends, relatives or a bank loan.

Banks are very reluctant to give loans for opening a new business, so if you take money from a bank, do not voice the fact that it is needed specifically for opening a mini-production. It’s better to take several consumer loans - it will be more realistic. Adequately assess your solvency to further repay these loans.

Register your business as an individual entrepreneur (individual entrepreneur) or LLC (limited liability company). Evaluate how safer and more profitable it is for you to register an organization, which taxation system is more suitable, and how convenient it will be to do accounting.

Purchase the necessary equipment, raw materials and materials for the selected business. Organize production in accordance with fire and technical safety requirements.

Get approval from the SES (sanitary and epidemiological station) and fire services.

Hire appropriately qualified employees (preferably experienced) and get to work.

Chelyabinsk entrepreneur Denis Vidyakov says that now is the time when small firms can make a name for themselves

Not everyone can engage in production - in the current economic situation, many novice entrepreneurs do not risk investing in such a complex business. However, the crisis brings not only difficulties, but also new opportunities - it all depends on what angle you look at it from. Entrepreneur Denis Vidyakov from Chelyabinsk, who opened a business producing metal structures, showed by his own example that when there is a goal, all obstacles can be overcome. This story told leading Chelyabinsk portal 74.ru.

I started working with metal structures last year. My father is a welder, and at some point he had difficulties at work. I didn’t waste time - I registered an LLC, rented premises, purchased some equipment and started working. I already had experience in business - before that I opened a paintball club, which is still operating successfully today. But metal structures are a completely new direction for me, I had to study the subject as I went along.

Room 80 sq. m was filmed together with a partner in the Leninsky district of Chelyabinsk. At the very beginning, the equipment consisted of grinders from the garage, drills from home, and jigsaws from work. All advertising took place exclusively through free sites, and the first orders slowly appeared. We opened at the beginning of last summer, and it was very difficult because the season was already lost. They grabbed onto literally everything that was connected with metal structures: awnings, change houses, horizontal bars, benches, trash cans. From the first order we bought a pipe bender, a compressor, and welders.

To be honest, at first it was enough only for rent and salary. This was the case until mid-autumn, when orders stopped coming in altogether. They pulled out small things, mostly for their own acquaintances - to make a stove for someone, a fence or a table for someone. Once they worked at a disadvantage - I miscalculated the change house. But a contract is a contract - I had to make it and give it away.

In the fall, real problems with money began, because rent had to be paid every month. The debt accumulated until December and amounted to 70 thousand rubles at the beginning of this year. As a result, I had to move out of the rented workshop and write a receipt on my own behalf that I would personally give the money.

“The competition in this business is fierce, it’s hard to survive. But on the other hand, now all the large companies in this area have slowed down due to economic instability in the country, and the time has come when small firms can make themselves known.”

We found a new workshop with good conditions and a minimum rental amount. There was one condition - we must train students of this institution. No students showed up, and as a result, our rent was increased, but fortunately, at that moment we already had orders. First from free sites, and later I began to slowly invest money in advertising. Calls started pouring in and enthusiasm also began to grow. Plus, in two months I made a website with advertising, and word of mouth works great. A friend helped us make the site, so we saved money here. In a certain business, everything always revolves in one circle - everyone knows each other, and people begin to give us our contacts.

It should be noted that the competition in this business is fierce, it is difficult to survive. But on the other hand, now all the large companies in this area have slowed down due to economic instability in the country, and the time has come when small firms can make themselves known. I realized this in practice - if you do everything right, then in a crisis you can rise even better. You have to compete on price, quality and your own developments.

For some time in the winter we tried to make firewood holders, fireplace scoops, pokers for stoves - it didn’t work. Then I realized that I need to concentrate on one thing, and not be scattered in different directions. This year I was approached by a company that deals with children's playgrounds. It has been working on the market for a long time, but now its suppliers have stopped meeting deadlines. They contacted me, we worked together, and I got involved in small forms - these are swings, carousels, benches, horizontal bars, and so on. That is, I am now engaged in beautifying children's play areas.

Another type of activity that I chose was the entrance groups for the project - staircases and railings. My partner left the business because he didn’t have enough time, now I’m developing on my own. Orders also came from other companies: I had to sit through calls to establish the necessary connections. In general, people are not refusing, there is a rush, despite the fact that this year the construction season is generally wrong. It started at the beginning of summer, and now it is only gaining momentum, although it usually gains momentum earlier.

Initially, I didn’t think about big money at all, I needed to keep my father busy, and that’s where the idea was born. I also made some mistakes, not without it. For example, initially I wasn’t particularly good at detail, because I didn’t study the subject thoroughly, I learned everything in practice. Now I can confidently say that I know my business.

There is enough work. In addition to me, the staff includes five employees: a manager, three welders and an assistant. Found painting partners. Metal volumes have also increased, and we are already getting discounts.

I order metal from Chelyabinsk resellers. I got a good discount from one supplier, they deliver with delivery, everything is included. Volumes do not yet allow us to order from factories, and my metal is all different types. I mostly buy consumables from advertisements, since there is no point in buying them in a store - it turns out to be too expensive. And it’s easier to negotiate with private individuals.

The equipment has now been fully paid for; new machines have already been purchased. We do some of them ourselves - we order spare parts and engines from turners. Today, everything is automated; the workshop is ready to produce certain volumes of products. A catalog is currently being prepared, and in the future I also want to create an online store. We will also undergo certification, since this is required by all schools and kindergartens with which we plan to work.

“Basically, you can make money on anything if you have a goal and a clear understanding of what you are doing.”

Of course, good equipment is expensive. I want to purchase laser cutting to have a full range of metalworking services, but unfortunately, there is no such option yet; it costs about five million. But the main thing is that we are on the right path. The company has gained momentum and all employees receive their salaries on time. We have now reached a stable work schedule, all processes are streamlined and automated. The workshop used to be 80 sq. m, and now 150 sq. m. But this is no longer enough. When an order arrives for 30-40 benches, there’s simply no room for space.

Recently I was contacted by leaders of a charity movement. They suggested beautifying the courtyards: installing sandboxes for children, swings, and horizontal bars. The first yard has already been chosen, I think we will continue to work in a similar format.

What can I advise aspiring entrepreneurs to believe in their business and not be afraid of the crisis. In fact, you can make money on anything if you have a goal and a clear understanding of what you are doing.

In the modern world of growing competition, it is very important for any person to achieve material stability and prosperity, but not everyone is able to immediately find their field of activity in the existing infrastructure. For many people, the best option would be to open their own business. Considering all possible options, we have to admit that for many the best option would be production activity, since the niche of resellers is currently experiencing fierce competition.

Well-established production of a particular product allows you to quickly occupy a niche and gain regular customers in the form of resellers and end consumers. When considering a business related to production activities, the question immediately arises of what exactly is best to produce, how to find consumers, where to get raw materials, where to get start-up capital, and much more. All these questions are extremely important, but you need to start considering them precisely from the preferences of the business organizer himself, that is, you first need to think about which area of production is closest to a particular person, since the direction of activity depends on this.

When considering the most realistic ways to open your own from scratch, you must admit that at first you will have to be content with small volumes of production and only increase the pace of production over time. In addition, special attention should be paid to the quality of the goods produced, since only through quality can positive dynamics in the development of production and increase in customer mass be achieved.

There are many areas of production activity that are currently profitable to engage in, including carpentry, production of profiles, paving slabs, hand-made goods, soap, semi-finished food products and so on.

Good business ideas can be found by simply looking around, noting what is in demand at the moment and what you can produce yourself. It is worth considering in more detail how to open a real business related to production.

Opening your own carpentry production is the right path to financial stability, since demand for quality is always high. The main beauty of this business idea is that it is quite possible to manufacture a wide range of products. The products produced by carpentry workshops include wooden windows and doors, furniture, kitchen utensils, and so on. Such production is practically waste-free, since even clean sawdust can be sold as bedding for animals.

So, what is needed to. Understanding and developing a business idea is, of course, not everything, because you will also need considerable start-up capital. It is worth considering in more detail the costs of implementing this business idea. First of all, you need to take care of renting a suitable room, preferably not for one month, but for at least three. It is difficult to say exactly how much money will be needed to rent a suitable premises. It all depends on regional characteristics, but in small cities it can cost from 10 to 50 thousand rubles to rent a room.

In addition, you will need to allocate funds to purchase the necessary machines and raw materials. At the initial stage, you can purchase used machines that are in good condition. Before purchasing equipment, you must first consider which products will be easier to produce at the initial stage, and then, when the opportunity arises, expand the scope of your activity.

Particularly acute in the case of opening a carpentry workshop is the issue of hiring workers. The thing is that at the initial stage of organizing a business it is very difficult to guarantee stability for employees, so it is best to take a carpentry training course before starting your business, so that in the future you can get involved in the work process yourself, if necessary, and also control the quality of the work performed . At the initial stage of implementing this business idea from scratch, you will need, in general, at least 120 thousand rubles. In the future, modernization of production can be carried out with less revenue from sales.

Handmade soap making

As a rule, the implementation of a business idea related to production requires large material costs, but there are areas of activity where the costs will not be so colossal. An example of such a low-cost manufacturing business is soap making.

Homemade soap differs in many ways from that produced on a conveyor belt, since in this case the manufacturer does not just stamp soap, but has the ability to create a variety of shapes, shades, aromas and even specific qualities of soap. The technical implementation of this idea from scratch will not require large expenses and may well cost 15 thousand rubles to purchase all the components.

In general, to start making soap from scratch you will need the necessary equipment, food coloring, a base for making soap, flavorings, molds for making soap, vegetable oils, and so on. Handmade soap is invariably popular, since the author of such a product has the opportunity to add various elements to the soap, giving the finished soap a scrub effect, and in addition, various nutritional and vitamin supplements, which allows the buyer to choose what he needs. . A business related to the production of soap can be promoted quite easily, even if initially the person who wants to organize such production from scratch did not have the skills to make soap.
