4. The Joker killed several hundred thousand people

In Batman Confidential #11, the Joker launches a detonated balloon over Gotham. When it explodes, a shower of poison-coated glass falls on one of Gotham's neighborhoods. Yes, poisonous glass, which, when injected into the body, not only killed people, but also distorted their faces into a creepy smile, reminiscent of the Joker’s eternal smile. The attack left a tenth of Gotham dead. A tenth of the population of a metropolis the size of modern Chicago. Killed by one person.

5. He has a skin fetish

In the Death of the Family comic, the Joker escapes from Arkham Asylum and leaves nothing less than his face there as a sign of his “rebirth.”

A year later, he retrieves his skin, which was kept as evidence by the Gotham Police Department, and reattaches it, killing 19 police officers in the process.

After this, he kidnaps the entire Batman family - Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl and Red Robin and binds them all in the Batcave. Batman arrives. He sees a huge set table, candles, his tied up loved ones - their faces are wrapped in bandages. He is forced to sit in a chair, which turns out to be electric. The hypnotized Alfred brings him soup in which human skin is floating - the skin of Batman's family, who is sitting at the table.

Later, Batman climbs out of the chair and the Joker runs away. Once Batman frees the others and removes the bandages, he realizes that the Joker didn't actually remove their skin and was just mocking him. Friendly jokes - nothing beats them, right?

6. He has a really strong skin fetish.

Once he skinned a living person, pushed him onto the stage of a strip club, slapping him on the backside with a bill.

7. Special relationship with women: he turned Gordon's daughter into a disabled person, raped her and forced her father to look at photos of her naked

The Joker just can't leave poor Commissioner Gordon alone, even after killing his second wife. In The Killing Joke, the Joker shoots Barbara Gordon, the former Batgirl, in front of her father. The bullet passes through her spine and permanently paralyzes the girl from the waist down. She screams in pain next to Gordon. He is terrified and doesn’t know what to do.

But this is just the beginning.

After this, things get much, much darker.

As if turning Gordon's daughter into an invalid wasn't enough to confirm his status as a legendary psychopath, the Joker decides not to stop. He kidnaps Commissioner Gordon and takes him to an amusement park. Gordon wakes up to find himself in a cart on the Fun Ride, a long tunnel where funny photos are shown on many different screens.

Only this time the funny photos were replaced by photos of Gordon's naked daughter.

Yes, the Joker not only paralyzed and possibly raped her (there is still debate about this), but also took a series of photos of Gordon's bleeding daughter writhing in agony, overcome with horror and despair. The Joker did this to drive Gordon crazy and to prove that even the most collected and cool-headed person can lose his mind after "one bad day."

8. The neck is not a hindrance

Dark Knight Returns has some of the most unpredictable action sequences in any Batman film.

Batman chases the Joker through an amusement park, which has happened before. However, this time the Joker kills people in this park without any hesitation. In the video above, the Joker kills 13 people in less than 30 seconds of running through the park. At the same time, he has a damn Batarang sticking out of his right eye socket.

Batman corners the Joker in the Tunnel of Love and begins to fight him. The Joker stabs him several times, but Batman uses his fighting skills and not only disarms the Joker, but also seriously grazes his neck (with a terrible crunch). Batman feels guilty for the deaths of all the people the Joker has killed. He blames himself for allowing him to kill so many.

This is the moment when the Joker won. Batman is consumed with anger and guilt. The Joker starts laughing, becomes hysterical and says: “I won. I made you lose control. And they will kill you for it." He breaks his own neck (!!!) to frame Batman for his murder.

9. He Killed Everyone Superman Loved

In the Injustice comic, the Joker managed to break Superman's spirit. First he kills Jimmy Olsen, a close friend and colleague of Superman's alter ego Clark Kent. The Joker then kidnaps Lois Lane and performs heart surgery on her aboard a submarine with Harley Quinn. Superman finds them, breaks into the submarine, sees Lois on the operating table - for some reason the Joker and Harley attach a heart rate monitor to her heart.

The Joker takes Superman by surprise and poisons him with a gas that is a mixture of Scarecrow's fear-inducing poison and Kryptonite. Due to the Joker's gas, Superman's mind becomes clouded and it seems to him that his pregnant wife Lois Lane is none other than his main enemy, the all-powerful Doomsday. Superman grabs Doomsday and flies him into space, killing him from lack of oxygen. Only when the gas wears off does he realize that the body floating helplessly in space is not Doomsday, not his sworn enemy, but Lois. He killed his wife and unborn child.

When Lois's heart stops and the heart rate monitor measures this, a nuclear warhead detonator goes off below in Metropolis (!!!), destroying Metropolis - the city whose inhabitants Superman has protected all his life. And this is not the end.

10. He drove Superman crazy and started a years-long war between thousands of superheroes

Realizing that the Joker killed his friend Jimmy Olsen, his wife Lois Lane, his unborn child and razed Metropolis to the ground, Superman finds the maniac in the room where Batman interrogates him.

And he kills.

At this moment, Superman's psyche passes through a turning point, he goes crazy and forever abandons all his principles. He decides that he can protect and shape the world as he sees fit, and creates a new world order. This divides superheroes into two camps - those who support Superman's totalitarian regime and those who oppose him. This results in a full-scale superhero war, depicted in the game Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The Joker is the type of villain who wins even when he dies. More precisely, he can win even by his death.
