How to develop the right hemisphere of the brain and why men and women need it: useful tips and exercises. How to develop the functions of the left hemisphere of the brain

Instructions

Having figured out the purpose of the left hemisphere, scientists were at a loss for quite a long time: what did the right hemisphere get, and why? The answer was not found immediately. Experiments have shown that the right hemisphere manages the holistic perception of reality, visual-figurative thinking, perception of music, artistic images, etc. This, one might say, is the intuitive block of our brain “computer”.

Develop abilities for which the right is responsible hemisphere brain, it is possible and necessary. This helps to develop a holistic view of reality, strengthens intuitive comprehension of the world, and develops creative imagination.

Speaking in the most general terms, strengthening the work of the right hemisphere departments brain occurs when we listen to music, indulge in daydreaming, meditate in solitude, engage in drawing, or any other type of creative activity associated with operating with holistic images.

Natural path of development of the right side brain includes active participation in those types of social activities that involve the functions inherent in this mental block. Writing poetry, literary creativity, even in such simple forms as maintaining a personal blog; singing, dance group, drawing - all types of such right-hemisphere activities cannot be listed.

There are also special techniques for stimulating the work of the intuitive block. brain. They are based on the idea of a person’s ability to have controlled imagination. For this purpose, calm music is used for relaxation, without distracting noise interference.

As you enter a relaxed state, you can mentally draw pictures of your positive intentions or the state you hope to achieve. This type of session can last from a few minutes to an hour. The result is the activation of the right hemisphere brain, even to the point of receiving intuitive answers to some questions regarding life situations that seemed insoluble.

  • Logic or intuition? Why develop the right hemisphere
  • right side of the brain

It is well known that the human brain consists of two hemispheres. The left hemisphere is responsible for logic, analysis, and accurate calculations. Right - promotes the development of imagination, creativity, intuition, and is a generator of new ideas. How to properly develop the hemispheres of the brain in order to become a harmonious person?

You can properly develop the hemispheres of the brain by training your hands. To do this, it is necessary to begin performing the usual manipulations that are automatically performed by the right hand (if a person is left-handed, then the left) with the other hand.

You should start with simple actions. For example, pressing buttons on the remote control, scrolling through records, taking a mobile phone out of its case, brushing your teeth, etc. left hand. Gradually the task becomes more complicated: you can try typing and drawing with your left hand. If exercise becomes a habit, a positive result will not be long in coming.

Both hands work – both hemispheres develop

Psychophysiologists have developed a special set of exercises for the development of the hemispheres. But practice shows that training through actions that have become a habit over many years is closer. One of the most effective techniques is considered to be “mirror drawing”. You don't need anything special for this. It is enough to put a notepad or a blank sheet of paper in front of you, take one in both hands

Hello, dear readers of my blog! Today we will talk about the left hemisphere of the brain, which is responsible for logical thinking and speech, and we will also look at ways to develop and activate its functions. In the previous article, I described its “brother” - which is more responsible for creative abilities. By balancing the work of both parts, you can achieve great results and success in all areas of life, so this is an important thing for almost all people.

The left hemisphere of the brain is sometimes called the dominant hemisphere. Firstly, because in 90% of people it is more developed than the right one, and secondly, the role of its mental functions in human activity is difficult to overestimate. Let's look at them in more detail.

Functions of the left hemisphere

Thinking

Both hemispheres are involved in thinking, but they are responsible for different aspects. So the left hemisphere, unlike the right hemisphere, which considers the situation as a whole, processes information sequentially. It analyzes each individual fact and gives a logical assessment.

Verbal speech

One of the main functions of the left hemisphere is verbal speech. This is our ability to speak, read and write. People with damage to the left side of the brain experience impaired speech functions and difficulty perceiving information. People with well-developed left-sided thinking find it easier to learn foreign languages.

Check

The left hemisphere is also responsible for recognizing symbols and numbers. With its help we solve mathematical problems and equations, we can remember dates and phone numbers.

Establishing cause-and-effect relationships

Thanks to the left hemisphere, people are able to trace cause-and-effect relationships and draw conclusions. Therefore, the left-sided mindset is also called analytical. People who have this kind of thinking often go to work as investigators, analysts, etc.

Positive emotions

Recent psychological studies have found that the left hemisphere is responsible for positive emotions, and the right hemisphere for negative ones.

Control over the right side

The left hemisphere controls the functioning of the right side of the body, and vice versa. That is, when we write with our right hand or perform some other action, this means that the signal came from the left side of the brain.

Properties of Left-Handed Thinking

The functions listed above are performed by the left hemisphere in all people. But it also has properties of a narrower specialization that predominate in people with left-hand thinking. They are characterized by such qualities as determination, logic, practicality, quick learning, and organization.

In the article about the right hemisphere, I talked about how it is responsible for creativity. But if people with right-sided thinking have a poorly developed left hemisphere, it is difficult for them to realize their ideas, due to inconsistency of actions and lack of determination. Therefore, harmonization of the entire brain is very important.

Left hemisphere activation

There are special exercises to help turn on the left hemisphere. But even if it already dominates in you, extra training won’t hurt.

Problem solving

Mathematical and logical problems are great for developing the left hemisphere of the brain. You can start with simple ones and then move on to more complex ones.

Solving crossword puzzles is good, especially Sudoku, as they are based on numbers and require logic and analysis to solve them.

Physical exercise

To activate the left hemisphere, you need to use the right side of the body. For example, perform normal actions with your right hand (write, brush your teeth, stir tea). For right-handed people this will not be difficult, but for left-handed people it will be more difficult.

Also, when performing regular gymnastics, pay more attention to the right side of the body. For example, you can jump on your right leg, bend to the right, etc.

Self-massage

There are many points on the human body that are responsible for different organs, including the brain. At the base of the big toes there is a point responsible for the cerebellum, and below it are the points of the cerebral hemispheres. By massaging the point under the big toe of your right foot, you activate the left hemisphere.

Fine motor skills

Fine motor skills of the hands are very useful for the development of the hemispheres. There is a special exercise for this. Place the tip of the little finger of your right hand against the tip of the thumb of your left hand, and the little finger of your left hand against the thumb of your right. Rotate your hands so that the position of your fingers changes places. Then the same should be done with the ring and index fingers.

But the best way to do this is to finger the rosary with your right hand. Then you immediately perform 3 functions:

  • activate the left hemisphere
  • meditate
  • massage the points on the fingertips

Pain in the left hemisphere

Many people suffer from headaches localized on the left side of the head. The most common disease that causes such pain is migraine. Experts identify the following reasons:

  • physical and psychological exhaustion;
  • dehydration of the body;
  • stress;
  • poor blood circulation to the brain

To relieve migraine symptoms, you need to drink plenty of water and give your body a rest. Meditation can also help with this. Pranayama is especially good. Breathing exercises will help saturate the brain with oxygen and improve blood circulation.

But it is necessary to take into account that pain in the left side of the head may also indicate other diseases, more serious than migraine, so if you do not know what the cause is, it is better to consult a doctor.

I've told you about the functions of the left hemisphere and how it's activated, but in order for the brain to function more effectively, both sides need to be developed. And which hemisphere is dominant for you, you can write in the comments to the article. I will also be glad if you share your knowledge about exercises to activate brain activity. Sincerely, Ruslan Tsvirkun.

What makes a person human? There are many answers to this question, but one of the most common and true is that a person has high self-awareness, is able to think and has a brain that is many times more developed than the brain of any other living creature known to science. Over thousands of years of evolution, the human mind and brain have undergone a huge number of significant changes, and this progress itself is based on the ability to develop. It is for this reason that people have moved their thinking to a qualitatively new level.

But it’s easy to guess that humanity as a whole, and each of us individually, has not yet reached the peak of our capabilities. This means that the brain is still constantly developing. But what is more interesting is that we are able to influence the development of our main organ independently. Moreover, it is also everyone’s responsibility, because first of all, personal life results, work efficiency, success in learning, mastering new skills and communicating with others depend on the degree of brain development.

Taking into account all of the above, today we want to talk about brain development. Next, you will learn interesting information about the human brain, its functions and developmental features, useful tips, exercises and training methods. All of this can create an effective system that you can use every day. To begin with, we will say a few words about the human brain as a whole in order to better understand how to develop it as much as possible.

Briefly about the human brain

The human brain is the most mysterious and enigmatic organ, and many draw an analogy between it and a computer. Throughout his life, a person learns something and everything, and all the information that is useful to him in one way or another goes into his memory and is stored there as long as he needs it. If some data becomes irrelevant, the brain simply erases it.

The functions of the brain can be listed for a very, very long time, but the main thing is that thinking, memory, imagination, speech, feelings, perception, and self-awareness depend on it. Naturally, this list is much larger, and if you want to learn more about the human brain and its development, you can find and read specialized books (Roger Sipe, John Medina, Dmitry Chernyshev and other authors).

The brain consists of the right and left hemispheres, connected to each other by the substance callosum, which serves to transmit information between them. If one hemisphere is damaged, the second is usually damaged as well. But there are cases when, for example, when the left hemisphere was destroyed, the right hemisphere took over its functions, and vice versa, thanks to which a person could continue to live a full life. As for these same functions, they are different.

The left hemisphere is responsible for logical thinking and working with numbers. It processes and analyzes information in a specific, strict sequence. And the right hemisphere is responsible for sensory perception and creative thinking - with its help music, smells, colors, art, etc. are perceived. This same hemisphere helps a person navigate the space around him. And thanks to its ability to synthesize existing information, a person gets the opportunity to think creatively, find non-standard solutions, solve puzzles, perform all kinds of exercises and play games to develop thinking and imagination (by the way, speaking about the development of thinking, it would not be superfluous to mention about, after completing which you You will be able to master twelve different thinking techniques).

In principle, the information considered is more or less sufficient for an approximate understanding of how the human brain works. And it only remains to note that thanks to special exercises the brain can be developed and made more powerful. However, it is very important to pay attention to the so-called preparatory activities, because it does not matter whether the brain of a child or the brain of an adult is trained, in any case it must be prepared for this.

How to prepare your brain for training

There are three basic rules that should be taken into account in order to make your brain more elastic, pliable and ready to perceive and assimilate new information, as well as its subsequent reproduction and competent application.

These rules include:

  • Elimination of physical inactivity. This means that you must provide yourself with the necessary amount of physical activity. Physical inactivity is characteristic of people who lead a passive lifestyle or simply move little, for example, those whose activities involve spending a lot of time in a sitting position, for example, schoolchildren and students, who like to play computer games for hours or hours. And the negative consequences of physical inactivity are expressed in the fact that it does not allow fatty acids in the body to be broken down, which leads to the formation of cholesterol plaques on the vessels that interfere with normal blood circulation. Blood provides the organs, including the human brain, with the amount of oxygen they need, and if this process is disrupted, the functions of the brain are also disrupted, as a result of which the efficiency of its work deteriorates (in particular, physical inactivity negatively affects the brain of a child and an elderly person).
  • Providing the body with phosphates and carbohydrates. Here we will only say that, firstly, you need to include in your diet foods rich in phosphorus (pumpkin, wheat germ, poppy seeds, soybeans, sesame seeds, processed cheese, nuts, oats, beans and others), as well as foods high in healthy carbohydrates (rice, corn flakes, bran, pasta, kefir, milk, shrimp, fish and others). By the way, you can read about proper nutrition. And secondly, you should minimize or completely stop drinking alcohol, which has a detrimental effect on brain neurons. In addition to harmful alcohol, alcohol contains carbon dioxide, and together with alcohol it has a very powerful destructive effect on brain cells.
  • Drinking water. We will talk about the benefits of water in detail, but now let us just remind you that clean water helps the body cleanse itself of toxins and waste, and also helps by maintaining neural communication. To provide yourself with the optimal amount of water, you should drink a liter of water per day per 30 kg of your body weight. If you are exposed to excessive stress, then it is advisable to increase the amount of water consumed even more.

By following these three rules, you will create a serious foundation for brain training. And any development system should be based on them - the brain of a child and the brain of an adult require special “care” and attention to themselves. And a lot of useful information on the presented topic is contained in thematic books (Roger Sipe, Mark Williams and Denny Penman, Alex Lickerman and other authors).

Development of both hemispheres of the brain

Let's remember: the left hemisphere processes speech and numerical information, logic, conclusions, analysis, linearity, etc. The right hemisphere provides spatial orientation, color perception, perception of shapes, sounds, colors, rhythms, dreams, etc. In general, of course, data is perceived by both hemispheres, but each of them predominates in its own area (you can read about functional asymmetry in).

Hence the conclusion: by developing one hemisphere, you can, for example, “get better” in your ability to perceive images and become super creative, but at the same time experience serious difficulties in solving arithmetic problems. Or, conversely, you can become a pro in analytics, but be unable to see beauty in paintings or not be able to compose a banal four-line poem.

Therefore, educational institutions often teach not only core disciplines, but also those that are completely unrelated to the specialty. Remember the same mathematicians who study literature, history and other humanities subjects, or philologists whose schedule includes technical disciplines. This serves as further evidence that both hemispheres require development. And for this you can resort to performing the following exercises:

Exercise 1

For the first exercise you will need a partner. Let him blindfold you with something. Once this is done, take a short walk around the room or area where you are currently located. After that, answer the following questions:

  • Has the activity of your senses increased, and if so, how?
  • What helped you overcome the uncertainty of not being able to see?
  • What sounds do you remember?
  • Was there anything that worried you?
  • Was there anything that calmed you down?

Based on these answers, you will understand how the body reacts to the shutdown of one of the senses. And the exercise itself will help you activate additional resources of both hemispheres.

Exercise 2

Through the second exercise, you will learn to synchronize the work of both hemispheres of your brain. It is done like this:

  • Stand up straight and extend both arms forward or up;
  • Draw a circle in the air with your left hand and a square with your right;
  • Perform the exercise until you succeed, and then switch hands.

This exercise can also be complicated by drawing more complex shapes in the air with your hands. And based on the idea of the same exercise, there is even a special system for the development of both hemispheres. Its meaning is to do familiar things in non-standard ways. You can, for example, wash dishes, brush your teeth or eat with the other hand, hold the phone to the other ear, carry a bag or backpack on the other shoulder (the word “other” means the left side for right-handers, and the right for left-handers).

Exercise 3

A banal and simple exercise at first glance, but in reality it perfectly helps to synchronize the work of the right and left hemispheres. This is done as follows:

  • Stroke your stomach with your right hand clockwise;
  • Now with your left hand, lightly tap your head with vertical movements;
  • After a little practice, perform the indicated movements at the same time.

It is interesting that very often the hands themselves begin to confuse the movements: the left hand does what the right hand should, and the right hand does what the left should. The exercise is very interesting, and after the first option is mastered, simply change hands.

It is very effective to use these three exercises when you want to influence the child's brain. But they will also be extremely useful for adults - despite their apparent simplicity, they perfectly train the brain, as a result of which thinking, memory, imagination, etc. improve. But it will be even better if you combine your training with the development of thinking, for example, with passing.

The exercises of the two subsequent groups can be performed separately and together with each other, as well as in combination with those already discussed. It depends on your personal needs and preferences.

Development of the left hemisphere of the brain

Here we will also look at three exercises:

Exercise 1

The meaning is very simple - you just need to perform all actions and manipulations with objects in the surrounding world using your right hand. Although this is natural for right-handers, even for them it will be extremely unusual, and left-handers will get excellent practice.

Exercise 2

This exercise is not much more difficult than the previous one - to develop the left hemisphere, spend a little time every day on solving arithmetic problems.

Exercise 3

Again, a very simple exercise - solve crosswords and scanword puzzles for 30-40 minutes every day. Solving them is considered to be largely an analytical rather than an intuitive process, which means that the left hemisphere is involved in it.

Development of the right hemisphere of the brain

There are four exercises in this group:

Exercise 1

Systematically listen to your favorite music, and fantasize, because... This is what the right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for. The more relaxed you feel, the better.

Exercise 2

To develop the right hemisphere, perform all actions and manipulations with objects in the surrounding world with your left hand. If in the previous block left-handers experienced inconvenience, then in this case right-handers will have to try. By the way, it will be cool if you learn to read and write from right to left, for which it is very effective to practice Arabic writing. At the same time, you will train your memory.

Exercise 3

Because the right hemisphere is more likely to synthesize rather than analyze data; spend time drawing, because it is during drawing that abstract thinking develops. Set aside 30 minutes daily for this. In addition, drawing can be replaced or combined with interior or clothing design. This exercise can be called an additional advantage.

Exercise 4

Develop empathy. This means that you need to develop the ability to empathize and perceive the world through the eyes of other people. Taking this into account, the right hemisphere is developing just fine, and you can learn more about the development of empathy by going to.

All the exercises we talked about, when performed regularly, will make your mind sharper and more flexible, and your brain trained and capable of serious achievements. The most important thing is to remember to pay attention to both hemispheres.

And finally, some more good tips for brain development:

  • Play sports (go to the pool, jog, etc.);
  • Communicate with people around you on interesting topics;
  • Provide yourself with good sleep and good conditions for rest;
  • Eat right and eat more vitamin-rich foods;
  • Develop stress resistance and positive thinking;
  • Play educational games and chess;
  • Read educational literature and educational books (Roger Sipe, Carol Dweck, Arthur Dumchev, etc.);
  • Educate yourself and take courses on the development of thinking (course in cognitive science).

This development system will allow you to always grow personally, train your intellect and have an active, healthy and strong brain. We wish you success and the opportunity to use your potential to the maximum!

Everyone is accustomed to the fact that they need to develop memory, attention, intelligence, and improve their body. But for some reason, few people pay attention to the brain itself, on which the development of all this in most cases depends. Even the body will not develop and improve unless the brain is properly tuned in and thinks about how to approach work on the body.

It is well known that the brain consists of two parts: left and right. For some, the left side functions better, for others the right, and for the happiest, both. Naturally, the winners are those who make the most of their wealth.

The left hemisphere thinks logically. The right helps to create new things, generate ideas, and integrate. However, you can be a mathematician with a well-developed left hemisphere and still come up with nothing new. Or you can be a creator and throw out ideas left and right and not implement any of them due to the inconsistency and illogicality of your actions. Such people are common. And they only lack one thing: working on improving their brain, bringing it into a harmonious state.

Psychophysiologists have long developed a system of exercises to harmonize the hemispheres of the brain. It’s good in this regard for musicians, for example, pianists. From early childhood they are instilled with a harmonious perception of the environment. After all, the most important tool for brain development is your hands. Acting with two hands, a person develops both hemispheres.

Exercises to synchronize the work of the hemispheres

Many of them are well known to us from childhood.

"Ear-nose"

With our left hand we take the tip of the nose, and with our right hand we take the opposite ear, i.e. left. At the same time, release your ear and nose, clap your hands, change the position of your hands “exactly the opposite.” I tried it, it worked better when I was a child.

"Mirror drawing"

Place a blank sheet of paper on the table and take a pencil. Draw mirror-symmetrical designs and letters with both hands at the same time. When doing this exercise, you should feel your eyes and hands relax, because when both hemispheres work simultaneously, the efficiency of the entire brain improves.

"Ring"

We move our fingers one by one and very quickly, connecting the index, middle, ring, and little fingers into a ring with the thumb. First, you can do it with each hand separately, then with both hands simultaneously.

Now let's remember physical education lessons. No wonder we were forced to do exercises in which we had to reach our right leg with our left hand and vice versa. They also develop our hemispheres and help them work in harmony.

The following training helps relieve emotional stress, improves performance, develops attention, thinking and interhemispheric connections. The exercise is difficult and yet interesting.

"Ambulance"

I explain the procedure. In front of you lies a piece of paper with the letters of the alphabet, almost all of them. Under each letter the letters L, P or V are written. The upper letter is pronounced, and the lower letter indicates movement with the hands. L - the left hand rises to the left, R - the right hand rises to the right, V - both hands rise up. Everything is very simple, if only it weren’t so difficult to do it all at the same time. The exercise is performed in sequence from the first letter to the last, then from the last letter to the first. The following is written on the piece of paper.

This is how you can develop your precious brain for your benefit. Train for health and have fun! And most importantly, feel the difference between your old self and your trained self!

Coordinate your brain hemispheres

This simple practice allows you to revive one hemisphere tired of monotonous work and connect the idle one to it. To do this, you will need A4 paper, on which you horizontally, along a ruler, with a marker, draw two lines crosswise, like the letter X laid on its side. Hang this piece of paper at eye level, so that it is convenient for you to look at it. Then you don’t have to take it off, let it hang and remind you of the need to take care of yourself.

Looking at this piece of paper, breathing calmly and deeply, you do only two simple exercises, known from physical education lessons:

  • touch your right knee with your left elbow, then touch your left knee with your right elbow, it is desirable that your back is straight. You need to make six such cross movements, for a total of 12. You can do it and count it.
  • touch your left elbow with your left knee, then touch your right knee with your right elbow, it is desirable that your back is straight. Six such parallel movements must also be made.
  • Again 12 cross movements;
  • 12 more parallel movements;
  • and the last 12 cross movements.

All this will take you no more than 1.5 minutes, and you will immediately feel the effect in your noticeably refreshed head.

In fact, the exercise is used to correct left- and right-hemisphere children. It is taken from applied kinesiology - the modern science of the body and is based on observations of infants. If a baby has not passed the crawling stage, he may have problems with his hemispheres working together, which means he will not use his full potential, using only half of his brain. We will apply this knowledge for preventive purposes to restore coordinated brain function.

Consciousness

Here is a special program that has been developed over many years in seminars. Both athletes and people who connected their lives with meditation took part in this.

The exercises are called Consciousness Training. At first glance, they will not be pleasant. With their help, you will realize how easy it is to find yourself in a difficult life situation and how difficult it is to find a way out of it and be reborn again. Consciousness training is, first of all, a set of physical exercises, as well as mobility in every sense.

American therapist Jean Houston found that during consciousness training, the IQ significantly increases. Obviously, exercise leads to the formation of new nerve cells in the brain. A large number of these cells leads to increased intelligence capabilities.

Such exercises are ideal for fulfilling the requirements of any complexity and coordinated work of both hemispheres of the brain. They also increase our concentration. The program promotes the development of coordination between the brain and body (coordinated work of the brain and body parts). Having used the left hemisphere, it does not occur to us to involve the right, which would be useful in many situations. Exercises help coordinate the work of parts of the body.

This type of gymnastics can be enjoyable in the future and is more effective than it seems at first glance. Alya started with simple exercises, heavy ones can cause pain.

Stroking the Belly and Tapping the Top of the Head

The first part of the exercises involves stroking the stomach with your right hand in a clockwise direction. After this, tap the top of the head with your left palm, with the goal of lightly spanking to increase mental abilities. Make sure that the movements are straight from top to bottom and vice versa.

The third step will be decisive: a combination of both movements. At the same time, pay attention so as not to mistakenly confuse the movements: with your right hand, rotate along the stomach, and with your left, move from top to bottom.

Once you are accustomed to these movements, you can switch hands. Such exercises develop coordination well.

Making circles

This exercise can be performed either sitting or standing, but it is better to start by standing. First, lean on your left leg so as not to lose your balance. Then start drawing circles on the floor with your right foot in a clockwise direction. If this works, then you can proceed to the next exercise. Make circular movements with your right hand parallel to the floor, but counterclockwise. After this, move on to the third task: complete both exercises at the same time. With your right foot, clockwise, and with your right hand, counterclockwise. This can lead to confusion, but this is the difficulty of the task - to get both hemispheres working at the same time.

Since the left hemisphere is more developed in women, and the right in men, the body is accordingly divided into two parts: what is above the lower back is the male pole, below the lower back is the female pole. This division is arbitrary, but it corresponds to the prototypes of Taiji, the signs where black Yin points lie on the white male Yang field, and vice versa, on the black Yin field there are white Yang points. Accordingly, the right “female” hemisphere is responsible for the right “male” part of the body, and the left “male” hemisphere of the brain is responsible for the left “female” part of the body.

The more you manage to combine exercises in this way, the easier it will be to bring harmony to our lives, as well as combine masculine leadership traits with passive feminine qualities based on sensations.

Once you've mastered these exercises, you can change the direction of your workout.

Change the load completely and start training the left side of the body. You will immediately feel how far your right side training has come. And between the two parts there is an exchange of experience.

Good physical condition has a beneficial effect on our mental state, since everything in the body is closely interconnected. The microcosm of our body and the macrocosm of the world and the entire Universe interact.

Click-clack

Now you can begin to perform complex coordination exercises. Stand up straight and raise your right arm up. This position is called click Now, having described a semicircle, lower your hand down, this final position is called clack.

Then repeat the same with your left hand. Again, the position with the hand raised is designated as a click. Now, describing a semicircle, lower your hand 90° to a horizontal position. The left side of the body is the claque position. The next movement, hand down, is again called a click. Thus, for the left side there are three position changes: top and bottom - click, and in the middle - click. Coordinating the work of both parts of the body in the same rhythm of click-clack-click-clack-click-clack will not be easy at first. Start the exercises at a slow pace, then the movements will automatically fall into the desired rhythm. Despite the seeming impossibility of doing it, this is a very simple exercise. The result will be unexpected and stunning

By spending a few minutes doing the exercise, you will get an amazing effect. I recommend doing the exercises before important events in which coordination is especially important. For example, before a long bike ride, they are just as important as the subsequent stretching, which, by tensing the contracting muscles, brings them back into shape.

Effective gymnastics for brain development will help heal the body and develop the left and right hemispheres.

  • Man is a rational being. He perceives the world around him differently than, for example, animals and has special thinking and logic. To understand how to develop your brain, you need to know its functions.
  • The brain can be called a computer, because its capabilities are limitless. Throughout the entire period of life, a person learns something new; a lot of information can be stored in his head. He remembers only what he needs, and what is never useful is “removed” forever
  • The brain consists of two hemispheres - right and left. Each side is assigned its own functional features - everything is analyzed in strict order, remembered or deleted

How to develop the left hemisphere of the brain?

The left side is responsible for logic. Language skills, solving logic circuits, mathematical operations, calculating integers and fractions, keeping track of time - all this is the work of the left half of the brain.

Therefore, to improve children's performance in school or to improve overall development, we must develop the left side of our “computer”.

So, how to develop the left hemisphere of the brain? The following must be done:

  • Work on developing logic - study mathematical algorithms, practice logical thinking
  • Solve complex geometric problems. Studying a science like mathematics is impossible without a well-developed left half of our brain
  • Solve puzzles and crosswords - the left hemisphere works better than the right when analyzing actions and composing words
  • A left-handed person needs to do everything with his right hand: write, draw, eat. It is necessary to use the right side of the body
  • Take to improve brain function

Important: Try not to focus on the development of one half of the brain. It is the work of both halves of our brain “computer” that is valuable. Develop the left and right hemispheres of your brain at the same time.

How to develop the right hemisphere of the brain?

Above, we figured out what the left half of the brain is responsible for; now we need to work on developing intuitive abilities and creative thinking.

The right side of the brain processes data that comes from the senses. It allows you to synthesize existing data in your head, so a person can solve puzzles and act according to his own plans, and not according to compiled templates.

By developing the right half, we cultivate a holistic view of the world and reality. How to develop the right hemisphere of the brain? Do the following:

  • Listen to music - it should be classical music, not rock or pop
  • Dream, meditate alone. It is better to do meditation on the seashore or in the forest, where you connect with nature
  • Draw, write poetry, compose music. Any creativity helps the development of the right half of the brain

Advice: Get creative, believe in your capabilities, and the result will not take long to arrive.

From birth, a baby's brain is wired to learn new things. Therefore, even such ordinary actions as feeding, walking and changing diapers are educational.

Advice: Don’t invent anything new in order to develop your baby’s brain. Don't get hung up on doing any special activities.

In order to properly develop a child’s brain, it is necessary to provide him with only proper care.

Important: Talk to your baby even when you are picking up mail from the mailbox or making tea. Such comments help to interest the child, which means he begins to think and develop.

Reading books together, playing games, mother's songs, dancing with the baby in your arms helps well in development. Even a regular massage and rocking before bedtime will develop the child’s brain.

Psychophysiologists work hard to create methods for harmonizing and developing the brain.

Each hemisphere is responsible for its own hand, so musicians and pianists will improve both hemispheres of the brain. After all, they play musical instruments with both hands, which helps to develop the two halves of the brain well.

Brain exercises for adults and preschool children that involve two hands are very effective:

EXERCISE: Grasp the tip of your nose with your left hand and your left earlobe with your right. Then lower your arms and clap your hands. Switch hands and repeat the exercise

EXERCISE:Sit at the table and place a piece of paper in front of you. Take a pencil in both hands and begin to draw symmetrical mirror drawings. Let them be simple at first, such as letters or numbers. If it is difficult to do this with both hands, you will have to first perform the exercise with each hand separately.

EXERCISE: Take a piece of paper with both hands and wave it, using not only your hands, but also your elbows and shoulders

EXERCISE: Place your left hand on your right shoulder, turn your head in this direction, focusing your gaze on some object. Slowly turn your head towards your left shoulder and look over it. Repeat the exercise, placing your right hand on your left shoulder

EXERCISE: Place your hands on the back of the chair - this is a support. Step one leg back. Move your body forward, bending your other leg. Transfer your body weight to it. Raise your heel slightly behind your standing leg. Now smoothly shift all your weight onto your back leg. Lower her heel and lift the toe of the other foot. Repeat 5 times, then change legs.

EXERCISE: Write words on paper in different colors. Repeat them as quickly as possible, and without hesitation

Chess, checkers, puzzles, Rubik's cube, puzzles and crosswords help in brain development.

Gymnastics for the brain - Olga Troitskaya

The exercise systems program was developed back in the 70s. Scientists of that time conducted research with their students, each of whom performed gymnastics every day. Since then, the system has spread throughout the world with excellent results.

Olga Troitskaya is a successful psychologist. She places great importance on brain development, because thanks to a clear mind a person can be happy and successful.

Important: Exercises increase the tone of the cerebral cortex, and massage of biologically active points allows you to make both halves of the brain work.

EXERCISE No. 1 “CROSS RABBLS”:

  • Crawl on the floor like a child. You can just march when you feel lethargic and don’t want to do anything. The feeling of cheerfulness will come instantly

EXERCISE No. 2:

  • Stand straight, feet shoulder-width apart
  • Bend over, bringing your shoulder to your hip, not your elbow to your knee.
  • The head turns slightly as the action progresses
  • The mouth is not clamped, the lips are free. Only all muscles and the lower part of the face are tightened

EXERCISE No. 3 “BRAIN BUTTONS”:

  • Place two fingers under the collarbones (there are 2 holes in that place). The second hand is placed on the navel
  • Lightly massage the pits
  • Change hands
  • You also need to massage the dimples located between the 1st and 2nd ribs under the collarbones. This is a powerful neuro-lymphatic zone with large vessels coming from the heart

EXERCISE No. 4 “THINKING CAP”:

  • Grasp the top of the ear and massage gently, as if stretching back and turning each point of the ear
  • Turn your head to the left as far as possible. Massage your ears, allowing your head, looking back, to go further and further. Do the massage from top to bottom. When your head turns to the limit, stop doing the exercise.
  • Turn your head to the right and repeat all the steps again as with turning your head to the left

EXERCISE No. 5 “OWL”:

  • Grab your left shoulder in the middle with your right hand
  • Turn your head slightly to the left
  • Start warming up - as you exhale, squeeze your fingers and say “UH.” Widen your eyes and look like an owl
  • Turn your head slightly from side to side
  • Then grab your right shoulder with your left hand and repeat the exercise

EXERCISE No. 6 “LAZY EIGHTS”:

  • Place your feet shoulder-width apart, feet parallel, knees straight and slightly bent. The body is relaxed
  • Bend one arm at the elbow and extend it forward. The thumb points up. Fix your gaze on him. The thumb is on the midline of the body.
  • Imagine a circle in front of you and draw a lying figure eight in it.
  • Switch hands and repeat the exercise
  • Then do it with both hands together - to the left and up

EXERCISE No. 7 “DENISON HOOKS”:

Part 1 of the exercise:

  • Intertwine your legs
  • Stretch your arms forward with your palms facing outward
  • Place your palms together, interlocking your fingers and turning your arms toward your chest
  • Lift your tongue and press it to the roof of your mouth
  • Look up. You need to do the exercise for as long as you feel comfortable

Part 2 of the exercise:

  • Place your feet shoulder-width apart
  • Place your hands down and clasp them with a boat at the level of your lower abdomen
  • Lower your eyes, press your tongue to the roof of your mouth

Below is a video with Olga Troitskaya’s brain gymnastics. It only presents the exercises themselves.

Gymnastics for cerebral vessels - Nishi

Japanese healer Katsudzo Nishi created a system of exercises to improve the health of the body. This is done through training the capillaries.

Gymnastics for brain vessels Nishi:

  • The simplest exercise to improve the condition of capillaries and blood circulation is called "Vibration". In the morning, without getting out of bed, lift your legs and arms up and shake them for 2 minutes. This kind of massage of the capillaries also helps to redistribute lymphatic fluid, which allows you to cleanse the body of toxins
  • Exercise "Gold fish". Lying on a flat surface, place your hands under your neck, at the level of the fourth cervical vertebra. Pull your toes towards you. Tense yourself very hard and make vibrating movements with your whole body, like a fish.

Such exercises help reduce the tone of the nervous system and increase vascular tone. Active blood circulation begins throughout the body, blood vessels actively work and strengthen.

Here are more effective exercises for strengthening blood vessels and improving brain function:

  • Older people also need a lot of their body if they want to live their lives in health
  • Therefore, it is necessary to start doing brain exercises and exercises for the elderly today. Exercises from Olga Troitskaya, which are presented above, have a very good effect on brain function.
  • All the exercises that are suitable for older people are suitable for younger people and children. Just do them slowly and do as many reps as you can
  • Thanks to constant exercise, lethargy and laziness will disappear, and the vestibular apparatus will be activated. An elderly person will be able to achieve full brain function

Brain synchronization - 25 exercises

To start developing your brain, follow the tips below:

Advice: Get rid of physical inactivity - this is a problem for sedentary people. Move more - don't spend a lot of time at the computer and TV. If you don't move, the blood vessels become clogged with cholesterol plaques, which leads to problems with brain activity.

Advice: Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. Alcohol kills neurons. But, if you choose between vodka, wine and beer, then beer has significantly less harm on our brain.

Advice: Drink 2 liters of water per day. People who are overweight should drink up to 4 liters of pure still water per day. It helps remove waste and toxins.

Advice: When doing any homework, do it cheerfully and ironically! The brain loves good emotions.

Having fun cleaning - both hemispheres of the brain work

Just as a person works on developing his muscles, he should also develop his brain. If the brain is not given daily work, it will become decrepit.

Important: If daily stress is present, then the number of gray cells increases, new capillaries appear and new synapses are formed between neurons.

By following these tips, you will help your brain: it will not “get bored” and will constantly develop:

  1. Walk around the house with your eyes closed - this helps develop coordination of movements.
  2. Determine the denomination of coins that are in your pocket by touch
  3. Master Braille - Reading and Writing for the Blind
  4. Write with your left hand if you are right-handed, and with your right if you are left-handed.
  5. Buy clothes that are unusual for you and wear them
  6. Change your hair color or get a short haircut if you previously had long hair
  7. Travel, get to know new cities and countries
  8. Change the interior of your home and office more often
  9. Come up with new phrases to answer questions: how are you, what's new?

Important: Why do this? Habits bore the brain, and it gets tired of routine. He is interested in everything new: emotions, words, actions and places.

BRAIN WORKOUT: Do the exercises with your eyes closed:

  • Breathe calmly and deeply 10 times
  • Slowly count out loud from 1 to 100, and vice versa, from 100 to 1
  • Imagine a pink circle in your head, then, using a spread, mentally transform it into a square, triangle, trapezoid and rhombus
  • Say the alphabet, making up a word for each letter, for example, “A is for watermelon.”
  • Mentally look at yourself from the outside. Take a closer look at all the details of clothing and accessories. Think about what you smile
  • Read any text backwards

Brain synchronization - warm-up

EXERCISE “EMERGENCY”: On a piece of paper, write the letters of the alphabet, and under them L, P or V. Letters from the upper lines are spoken out loud, and from the lower ones - done with your hands (L - the left hand rises up, P - the right hand rises up, V - both hands rise up). Doing all this at the same time is difficult, although it seems simple at first glance.

Now let's remember exercises from physical education lessons, which, as it turns out, help develop the brain and make it work synchronously:

PARALLEL EXERCISE:

  • Reach the elbow of your right hand to the knee of your right leg, and the elbow of your left hand to the knee of your left leg - repeat 12 times

CROSS EXERCISE:

  • Reach the elbow of your right hand to the knee of your left leg, and the elbow of your left hand to the knee of your right leg

It will take only 2 minutes to complete these exercises, and the effect will be felt immediately - your head will become “fresh” and “lightened.”

Specialists and experts in the field of brain development give very valuable advice to those people who are working on synchronizing their brain. If you do them at least once a week, progress will definitely appear.

Brain synchronization - watch on the other hand
  • Advice: Finger gymnastics helps develop the neural functioning of the brain. Open and close your fingers, complicating the task and doing the exercise through one finger
  • Advice: Rearrange items on your desktop. This will force the brain to look for new solutions. But don't do this too often so that your brain doesn't get used to it.
  • Advice: Say out loud twenty female or male names. Mentally imagine these people and how they smile at you. Wish them all a good day
  • Advice: Once a week, go to bed with your head towards the other end of the bed. This is unusual for the brain and it will not be able to fall asleep quickly, but you have to try.
  • Advice: Change the hand on which you wear the watch. At first you will experience inconvenience, but then you will no longer notice it. After 7 days, change your hand again
  • Advice: When cleaning the house, put things away nicely, but out of place. After this, the brain will have to work and remember where things and objects are after cleaning
  • Advice: Solve various logic problems. They can be found in collections, children's magazines or on the Internet.
  • Advice: Once a week, think about what you have achieved during the week. Make plans for the next week, highlighting the main events
  • Advice: Sometimes write letters to yourself about the mistakes you made during the week. Don’t feel sorry for yourself, write down even minor troubles so that you can become even better next week

COMPLEX EXERCISE TO INCREASE YOUR BRAIN:

  • Sit on a chair and cross your legs
  • With the foot that is on top, draw circles in the air clockwise
  • After this, draw a circle counterclockwise with the finger of your right hand - the leg continues to move clockwise

EXERCISE “COLOR”:

  • Take a blank sheet of paper and use paints, a felt-tip pen or pencil to color it completely with one color
  • List all the associations that you have with this color. For example, red - cherry, watermelon, flag and so on

EXERCISE “COUNTING”:

  • Count to 20 and back, but skipping a number that contains, for example, 3 or that is divisible by 3

EXERCISE “WORD”:

  • Pick up a newspaper and read the first word you come across
  • Make ten different sentences with this word, quickly and without thinking
  • Place both palms on your stomach - left hand on right
  • Exhale as if you were blowing out a candle.
  • You need to do this exercise for one minute.

EXERCISE “LIFTING WITHOUT HANDS”:

  • Sit on the floor and spread your legs wide
  • Now stand up sharply without using your hands
  • During this exercise, both hemispheres of the brain begin to work in concert. A sense of balance is important. WARNING: You may fall during this exercise.

EXERCISE “LETTER”:

  • Close your eyes and imagine any letter in your head
  • Name out loud up to twenty objects starting with this letter, for example: one is a tank, two is a tractor, three is a throne, four is oatmeal, and so on. The faster you say the words, the better

EXERCISE TO IMPROVE BLOOD CIRCULATION:

  • Extend one arm forward, straighten your thumb and draw an 8 in the air
  • Do 4 such repetitions. Change your hand
  • At the end, do gymnastics with both hands

EXERCISE TO IMPROVE BRAIN FUNCTION:

  • Raise both hands up
  • Draw a square in the air with one hand and a star with the other
  • As soon as the exercise starts to work out, change hands. To complicate it, come up with drawings of other shapes

Now let's learn how to do physical exercises to synchronize the brain. After performing such gymnastics, both hemispheres of the brain will learn to work simultaneously.

EXERCISE “ADVICE OF FINGERS AND TOES”:

  • Sit on a high table so your legs swing freely
  • Spread your fingers and touch your fingertips to each other, holding your hands in front of you
  • Perform swinging movements with your arms. Your fingertips should meet each other

Important: If you want to make this exercise more challenging, point your toes together. Swing your arms and bring your fingertips together and spread your legs. With your arms apart, bring your legs together.

Brain Synchronization - Crossing Arms and Legs

EXERCISE “CROSSING ARMS AND LEGS”:

  • First, swing your arms in front of your body at shoulder level. Palms should be facing the floor
  • After a while, start doing swings and crosses behind the body - at the level of the buttocks
  • Continue with the exercise, adding movement to your legs.
  • When moving to the right, move your left foot in front of your right, and your right foot in front of your left when moving to the left.

Another similar exercise:

  • Cross your legs while moving
  • Step to the side - cross your left leg behind your right
  • One more step with your right and plant your left foot
  • Repeat the movement in the opposite direction

EXERCISE “REVERSE PUPPE”:

  • Stand straight with your feet together. Place your arms above your head. Jump and swing your arms out to the sides and back, spreading your legs. Jump back to the starting position
  • Perform the previous movements with your feet, and extend your arms in front of your body, moving them up and down.
  • Use your arms to move to the sides, and your legs to jump back and forth from one foot to the other, just like when walking.

EXERCISE “GREAT CONDUCTOR”:

  • Play any classical music
  • Stand in the same position as a conductor standing in front of an orchestra.
  • Raise your arms at shoulder height, with one arm higher than the other
  • Draw lying figure eights in the air: the left hand writes to the left, the right hand to the right
  • After this, draw an internal arc and repeat all exercises in the opposite direction.

EXERCISE “CONFUSION”:

  • The right hand is on the head, the left hand is on the stomach. Pat the top of your head and stroke your belly in a circle at the same time
  • Stroke your stomach clockwise with your left hand, and stroke your left collarbone in the other direction with your right hand.

EXERCISE “DRAWING WITH THE NOSE”:

  • Imagine a pencil on the tip of your nose
  • Draw figure eights in the air
  • When you succeed in this exercise, write your first and last names in the air.

EXERCISE “ROLL WITH LEMON”:

  • Prepare lemon and chair
  • Lie on your back, place a chair behind your head. Squeeze a lemon between your feet
  • Raise your legs so that you can place the lemon on the chair
  • Lower your legs, then raise them, and take the lemon from the chair, returning to the starting position

Tip: Young people in good physical shape can place the lemon not on a chair, but on the floor behind their head.

Important: It is good to perform the “birch tree” and headstand along with this exercise. This exercise will help stimulate cerebral circulation.

EXERCISE “YOGI BREATHING”:

  • Sit on a chair and relax, your back straight. Place the index and middle fingers of your right hand on the bridge of your nose
  • Use your ring finger to lightly close your left nostril and inhale slowly through your right nostril for a count of 8.
  • Hold your breath for 4 seconds. Then press with your thumb and close your right nostril while exhaling slowly through your left nostril for a count of 8
  • Hold your breath for 4 seconds and inhale again, counting to 8, but now through the left nostril

EXERCISE “RELAXATION AND CONCENTRATION”:

  • Sit cross-legged on the floor and close your eyes
  • Take a few breaths, directing the air flow deep down your abdomen. The diaphragm must work
  • Focus on your breathing. Say “OM” out loud as you inhale, and “AH” as you exhale.

Strengthen your memory - yawn widely

EXERCISE TO STRENGTHEN YOUR MEMORY:

  • Close your eyes and yawn widely
  • Simultaneously massage tense areas in the lower and upper jaw
  • The yawn should be long and loud. Repeat the exercise 3-6 times
