From the history of the creation of a shocking group

There are jokes that do not lose their relevance at all times - jokes that live forever. The reader will probably smile, but the Quest Pistols group is also a joke that the listener liked and stayed with him for a long time. The idea of putting on a number for the dancing guys came to the organizers of the television show “Chance”. On the notorious April 1, the guys were supposed to amuse the audience with their debut song “I’m tired, I want love.” But they not only managed to bring smiles to others, but also to gain their love and recognition. More than 60,000 viewers voted for the singing dancers, thanks to which the Quest Pistols made it to the final of the show. Now Konstantin Gorovsky, Nikita Goryuk and Daniil Matseychuk are real stars, despite the fact that some of the guys have already left the group.

Debut album

Even the producers of the show could not imagine such success - the Quest Pistols became a new popular pop group. In the fall of the same 2007, the group released their debut album, which was called “For You.” Soon, based on sales results, it became gold and in the spring of 2008 it was introduced in Russia. The video for the song “I’m tired” almost immediately after its release became one of the top ten hits on the MTV channel.

Composition of the group Quest Pistols

Initially, the team had three members - Anton Savlepov, Konstantin Borovsky and Nikita Goryuk. In 2011, another soloist appeared in the team - Daniil Matseychuk. After some time, Kostya Borovsky left the group, so there were three guys again.

In February 2011, information appeared in the press that Anton Savlepov was also leaving the group. A few days later, the artist announced that he had changed his mind. As he explained earlier, the reason for his thoughts of leaving was a mental crisis. After filming the video for the song “You are so beautiful,” the artist decided to remain in the team.

The style of the Quest Pistols group and the characteristics of its members

The Quest Pistols invented their own style of music - the artists call it “aggressive-intelligent-pop”. The texts for the compositions for the children are written by Isolda Chetha, working under the pseudonym Chemerova Alexandra. A talented member of the musical group “Dymna Sumish” finds the strength, time and imagination not only to write songs for her group, but also for the Quest Pistols. The only composition from 2007 to 2012 that was not written by her is called “White Dragonfly of Love.” The author of the words was an aspiring musician. The works of recent years came from the pen of soloist Goryuk.

The main feature of the youth team is that none of the participating children drink alcohol, smoke or visit nightclubs. They all lead a healthy lifestyle and adhere to a vegetarian diet. The guys tried to convey their views on life to the public in Belgium in September 2007 by performing the “Dance Against Poison” program.

Team awards

The Quest Pistols received their first award at the MTV Ukrainian Music Awards ceremony in Donetsk - there they were recognized as “Debut of the Year”. In 2008, 2009 and 2011, the Quest Pistols received the Golden Gramophone Award and in 2010, the Sound Track Festival Award.

In the winter of 2011, “quests” began their successful tour of US cities - their concerts were held in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. After an excursion into the life of the team, you can move on to getting to know its member, to whom the article is dedicated. Who is Daniil Matseychuk? How did you get into Quest Pistols? Why did you leave and what are you doing now?

The future lead singer of the popular group was born on September 20, 1988 in the capital of Ukraine - the city of Kyiv. Daniil Matseychuk (photo can be seen above) before becoming a star, he worked as a model and dancer. In 2011, he was invited by old friends to become part of an already popular group. According to Anton Savlepov, Daniil once helped him get through difficult times. When the members of Quest Pistols thought about joining the team, he remembered his good old friend and decided to invite him to the team. In addition, Daniil shares the guys’ life principles - he leads a healthy lifestyle and does not eat animal products.

recent years

Each of the guys received a good stage training from participation in the Quest Pistols. Daniil Matseychuk performed as part of the group for several years, earned capital and recognition, and in 2013 he set out on his own. Now he and Konstantin Borovsky, having combined their talents and efforts, have created the creative association “KBDM”, as well as their own clothing brand called “KBDM Clothing” and the club project “KBDM DJ’s”. Now the young guy has millions of fans and, naturally, he is interested in his personal life. For a long time, Daniil Matseychuk and his girlfriend hid their relationship in order to increase the team’s rating. But recently it became known that the couple lives together.

Vegetarianism is not just a diet

Daniil Matseychuk is a lacto-vegetarian, that is, he eats only dairy products and foods of plant origin. For an artist, this type of nutrition is not just a diet, it is a way of life. He is convinced that people who do not eat animal carcasses are more spiritually developed, their consciousness is cleaner, their health is stronger, their life is brighter. It’s hard to disagree with this, because the artist himself is an example of this.

Biography

Daniil Matseychuk was born in Kyiv, this happened on September 20, 1988. Nothing is known about his school time, but largely due to his attractive appearance, he was able to work as a dancer and model in various Ukrainian publications.

He had known the members of the Quest Pistols group for a long time, and it was they who invited him to join their ranks. Thus, the career of the future singer and dancer began. The most important thing is that he shared all the interests of the group members.

Career

The musical group Quest Pistols brought enormous popularity to Daniil Matseychuk, of which he is a part. It all started with the television project “Chance”, which was quite popular. A trio of guys who showed fiery dances and sang well reached the finals of this competition.

Immediately after the end of the television project, the group became famous, but at that time Daniil was not in its composition. Already in 2007, Quest Pistols released their first album, “For You.” The sales starts were so effective that it was immediately added to the “gold” status. Every song that came out became a hit. Thus, popularity grew, but at one point the lead singer left the group, so they had to urgently look for a replacement.

In 2011, Daniil Matseychuk joined the team. At that time, the group’s songs were heard in almost every corner of the entire post-Soviet space.

Of course, the artists also performed abroad and received a considerable number of prizes and awards.

The guys positioned themselves as a dance and music ensemble and did their job well. Millions of fans around the world listened to their songs.

The choice fell in favor of Daniil because he shares all the life positions of the participants: he does not drink alcohol, does not smoke, does not go to entertainment venues and is a vegetarian. But as it turned out, Matseychuk would not last long in the group; he gained popularity and in 2013 decided on a solo career.

Together with Borovsky, he created a new musical association “KBDM”; in addition, he is engaged in the development of new trends in fashionable clothing, has a club project and much more. Thanks to the popularity he has earned, he manages to develop and popularize his activities as effectively as possible.

Personal life

Every fan of not only Daniil Matseychuk, but also the Quest Pistols group would like to know about his personal life. The guy has been in a relationship with the girl for a long time. More recently, they began to live together, which was very well covered in the media.

Participants in the Quest Pistols Show project can be treated differently, but they will definitely not leave anyone indifferent. The guys are so different from other show business stars that sometimes it seems as if they were sent to earth by aliens: their unusual style, mysterious tattoos, stunning energy and angelic appearance have made them real idols of modern youth. What unites all these creative people? How did one team bring together such extraordinary personalities who manage to create unique songs, dances and an amazing show? This was told by our guest today - a dancer, singer, capoeirist and just an incredibly charming guy Daniel Joy (Daniil Matseychuk) . His photos on Instagram receive hundreds of likes, and his performances attract thousands of viewers. Recently he became an involuntary participant in a fight, and the photographs still show traces of that scrape, but the artist not only does not hold a grudge against his offenders, he is trying to teach others a lesson by his example. Daniel inspired us with his philosophy of life, his story of incredible adventures and his belief in love. Sweater – Tommy Hilfiger, trousers – JOOP! We met the guys from Quest Pistols at a breakdancing competition many years ago.

We immediately found a common language in spirit and type of activity. We were brought together by Quest Ballet. There were a lot of dances, competitions and shows, we performed as backup dancers and looked better than the artist. One day, our producer and creator of the Quest ballet, and subsequently the Quest Pistols group, Yuri Bardash, called me and invited me to perform at the Big Love Show instead of one of the members of the group. Of course, I agreed, then it was a one-time event. And then we decided to continue cooperation. We've been together for a long time. Everyone is engaged in their own creative development. In 2011, I became a full-fledged member of Quest Pistols. For a while, the four of us went to concerts: Anton, Nikita, Kostya and me. Over many years of active concert activity, some participants left, new ones appeared, like now - Mariam, Ivan and Washington. But in general, we always move in the same vector: development and creativity. And in order not to stagnate, sometimes you need to renew yourself and your environment.

Jacket and trousers – JOOP!, T-shirt – Zara, belt – Strellson. I also left the team for a while and did something else, developed, began to study areas that I had long dreamed of mastering, and tried myself in new roles. And then our paths connected again, we were together again.

And so it was with each of the participants. Quest Pistols Show is more than a band, it has long been a brand in the music ring. Of course, there are different sides, different emotions, everyone is affected differently by the stage and fame, constant training and touring life. We have a very difficult schedule, but the result of our work speaks for itself. And if you don’t engage in some spiritual practices, don’t cultivate humility and love in yourself, then sometimes you can break down. But we are professionals, so we develop, try, maintain friendship and peace. The philosophy of the Quest Pistols Show participants is that everyone should have the right to be happy. By helping others, you help yourself. I want to be happy, so if I make a few people in this world happy, then I myself will be happy. I would like people to want to make people happy, not the other way around.

Jacket – Tommy Hilfiger, T-shirt – Zara, jeans – Acne Studios, sneakers – New balance, glasses – Ray-Ban, hat – stylist’s property. I came to my equation of happiness - these are simple good human relationships, friendship, love.

I believe that the fittest survive. But many people misunderstand this phrase. Strength lies in love, forgiveness, admitting your mistakes, repentance, and not physical manifestation. We must cultivate love, but in a good sense of the word, without going to extremes. We must respect ourselves and others. Recently a story happened to me: my friend and I came out of a photo shoot, went into a supermarket at night, and on the way out we met a company that didn’t like my jacket from an Italian designer. They decided to measure their strength, because there were only 15 of them, and there were two of us. In the modern world, people are very ignorant, they do not think about their actions, they easily label things. In the post-Soviet space, people lived under the influence of tyranny for a very long time, and this affected the younger generation, but I know that soon people will begin to think differently.

There is no limit to perfection, you can constantly grow and learn. Then a person’s life is filled with meaning and the strength appears to do what he loves. I believe this will make the world a better place. What irritates me in people is their biased attitude and the habit of just going with the flow. In my close circle, I really appreciate people who motivate me and inspire me to further develop. To be honest, as a child I wanted to be an astronaut. Now I joke that I have become one after all. But then I didn’t know that I would be an artist. There are different people, and to each their own. Self-expression through creativity is important to me. If I don’t do this, then I begin to wither, like a flower without sun and water.
I do something that I like, and I am very happy when I understand that someone also likes it. My fans are parts of my whole. My creativity is me, and I give myself entirely to it. There were various problems in my life. I faced a lot of troubles, I went to work early - I performed with a Brazilian show at the age of 13-14. But my parents always believed in me, gave me love and gave me support. I'm very lucky to have incredibly cool friends who are very sincere and honest. I grew up in Kyiv, but I travel often since childhood, so many of my friends are from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the USA and Europe. This is a small circle of friends, but they are always with me. We may not see each other or communicate for a long time, but we cherish our friendship. Take care of love and appreciate freedom.
I had unrequited love, and, of course, this is a very strong motivator for personal growth. When you realize that something is going wrong, you start to improve. I've had different relationships. This is a very strong energy that cannot be curbed. If you are caught in a network, then it already controls you. I believe that this is necessary for creativity. Psychologically, love can be oppressive, but you start working on yourself and become better. I can’t say that I’m amorous, but I get very attached to people. I couldn't live without a relationship. Relationships give me a lot of energy and support, which is very important for a man. I am not a supporter of flaunting my relationships and take care of my family hearth. And I'm always serious in relationships.

When you work publicly, you will in any case encounter different opinions. I am grateful to every well-wisher and ill-wisher. Friends and enemies see one personality, but the former focus on qualities, the latter on shortcomings, this is all an incentive for growth. I am an introvert and can be alone with myself for a very long time. You could say that I spend a lot of time in the office, but for me the office is a studio, a dance hall where I train. I collect impressions and events, moods, smells and tastes. But sometimes I like to just lie down and do nothing. All my tattoos have a meaning and are my personal artifacts. I believe in symbolism and affirmations, that is, everything you say and do attracts the same consequences. What goes around comes around. I got my first tattoo at the age of 17, I don’t know why, but I always wanted to get a lot of tattoos. Since childhood, I have outlined my hands, and they scolded me and said that only prisoners walk like that. And for a long time I couldn’t understand why people avoid tattoos so much. But when I read the history of tattoos, I became so interested that I decided to become a tattoo artist myself and often paint my friends.
T-shirt – Zara, jeans – Acne Studios. I have never evaluated or compared people.

It's not pleasant to do this. I have a business that I'm involved in. I have data that I got from my parents and from God. I develop them, cultivate my positive qualities. Envy is a big problem in the modern world. My parents taught me that if you take on something, you need to see it through to the end. I learned this from childhood and adhere to this principle in everything. My zodiac sign is Virgo. There is some truth in horoscopes. But I believe in God - this is much more interesting.

The word “shocking” does not apply to me. For some, my photographs are a provocation, but for me it means just being myself. One day I dyed my hair blue, and everyone I knew asked me: “You were forced to, right?” And I just wanted to change something. Each of us has the right to do as we see fit. And even our mistakes sometimes benefit us in the future. In some ways, I am ready to start a family and feel the need to take care of someone. Sooner or later, a man without a family begins to degrade. It's normal when you have children and there is a continuation after you. And the most valuable thing we can give is proper education.

At the beginning of the hot season, we are looking for tattooed people from a variety of fields of activity whom we would like to undress and photograph. Today, the creators of the creative formation KBDM talk about what their tattoos symbolize.

Konstantin Borovsky

Occupation: Artist, designer, photographer, member of the KBDM group.

Age: 33 years.

Number of tattoos: 5 tattoos plus 1.5 sleeve.

My first tattoo was a picture of Lauryn Hill on my shoulder, now it is covered with a nice black spot. Then Polynesia, mehendi and Vedic yantras were added, which were combined into the right “sleeve”. There is a “tilak” between the shoulder blades, symbolizing that my body is not my property, but belongs to God.

On the collarbones is part of an ornament from vintage Indian postcards. On the chest is a maha-mantra (names of God) in Sanskrit. On the left side is Hanuman, the hero of the two Indian epics, the embodiment of loyalty and courage. This tattoo would be good to touch up, but I keep putting it off: ribs are one of the most painful places to get a tattoo.

The left hand is not finished yet. I started filling it with yellow lotuses. The lotus is a symbol of inner purity, which I would like to strive for. I have a wedding ring on the ring finger of my right hand, since my usual wedding ring is wide and heavy, and I sometimes take it off, for example, during concerts and while driving a bicycle.

Almost all of my tattoos were done by Vyacheslav Bodrov (a.k.a Shket), which I am very happy about. I find sketches or draw them myself.

It’s funny when aunties on the playground, when I’m walking with my daughter, ask if this is forever. I answer that until this body burns in the crematorium.

Daniil Matseychuk (Daniel Joy)

Occupation: musician, designer, member of the KBDM group.

Age: 25 years.

Number of tattoos: 48,5.

From childhood I knew that I would be covered in tattoos. From an early age I drew mysterious symbols and patterns on my body, which now remain with me until the end. Tattoos are my textured ideas and views, components of my life position, which serve as both a reminder of something and a kind of talisman of my body. For me, the symbolism of a tattoo is more important than its external execution.

Since I have about 50 tattoos, the description of each of them will take a long time. Perhaps I will limit myself to talking about the arms, back and chest. I'll leave the legs for next time.

On the phalanges of my fingers and on the edges of my hand I have written Heart Must (right hand) Have Soul (left hand). These words mean that if there is no soul in the heart, the person is dead.

The right hand, according to the Vedic concept, represents the sun, action, and future. The left is emotions, the past. In other words, with this tattoo I seem to be saying: it is important to act according to your heart and feel with your soul. I have the Roman numeral XII stamped on the phalanges of my thumbs. This is a symbol of time, cyclicality.

Tattoos are my textured ideas and views, components of my life position, which serve as both a reminder of something and a kind of talisman of my body.

On my back I have the word FAMILY, which stands for Father and Mother I Love You. This applies both to my own family and to the Universe.

On my collarbone is an inscription in Latin: “On the true path we doubt.” I put the following meaning into it: everything we do selflessly is right. The two swallows that hold this inscription mean freedom. There is also a beautiful legend about sailors who believe that swallows send their souls to God after death.

On the chest is a lotus from the spiritual world. To be honest, this is my old partak, which I have significantly corrected. Swastikas on both shoulders evoke good luck and energy.

On the left shoulder is the Virgin Mary (sculpture by Michelangelo) and my family’s credo in Latin: “Everyone is the architect of his own happiness.” Below is an image of St. Michael defeating a demon, which symbolizes the need to fight one's false ego, the personification of evil within oneself. Next is Pegasus - a symbol of aspiration, upward movement, development. The triangles on the inside of both elbows symbolize the feminine principle. Hanuman is a symbol of devotion, Shiva is the patron of all the fallen. The reversed anagram of True reads Love.

Now about the right hand. The graffiti tattoo from Vrindavan is dedicated to my mother. Red bracelets all over the body (there are 32 of them in total, only 12 have been filled so far) correspond to the 32 syllables of the maha-mantra. The sacred sea shell represents sound, the whole world, vibration. Garuda is a symbol of service and selflessness, Brahma is the creator of our material world and the forefather of all living beings.

Several masters work on my body. This process usually takes a lot of time, always in different ways: sometimes we can do it in one session, but sometimes several years are not enough to complete the work. My friends are masters Vyacheslav Bodrov, Sergey Voloboev, Slava Kononov, Jenna Bouma and others. It is very important for me to prepare a sketch and design it to suit my body, of course taking into account the professional opinion of the master, so all ideas are embodied in the best possible way.

“Can I touch it?” - This is perhaps the strangest question I get asked about tattoos. It seems that everyone doesn’t see well and can’t believe their eyes until they touch me.

It will look even better in old age, and in general, when I'm done with all the ideas for a tattoo on my soul temple, modern technology will allow me to remove my old skin and replace it with a new one, just printed on a 3D biological printer. I’ll hang the old one in a safe place and wear it only on holidays.
