Official congratulations on Museum Day in prose. Congratulations to museum workers

On May 18, museum workers all over the planet celebrate their professional holiday. International Museum Day(International Museum Day) appeared on the calendar in 1977, when at the next meeting of ICOM (International Council of Museums) the Russian organization’s proposal to establish this holiday was adopted. And since 1978, this day has been celebrated annually in more than 150 countries.

On this day, museums open their doors to everyone, completely free of charge and happily showing their exhibition halls, new exhibits, telling, educating and working in the spirit of the motto “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace different peoples." The opening of new exhibitions and festivals is timed to coincide with the holiday; thematic lectures, excursions, scientific readings, special classes for children are organized in museums, and museum and theatrical performances are held.

At the end of the 90s. A tradition has emerged within the framework of the holiday to hold a special cultural event “Night of Museums”, which, as a rule, is postponed to the next weekend; in 2012 it will take place on the night of May 19-20. On this night, many museums close very late or are open all night. Entrance to the museums is free. In 2005, this annual event acquired a pan-European character and began to be held under the patronage of the Council of Europe. The action is designed to bring cultural heritage closer to the viewer, to show through non-traditional acquaintance with museums and galleries the importance of museums in the life of society, as well as the diversity of the global museum community. Openness to spectators is the main motto of “museum night” around the world.

Museums are our history, these are the places where the most valuable things ever invented and created by man are stored. Therefore, museums should be closer to society and completely open to it.

The world community must develop and maintain the condition of museums and all objects stored in them.
That's why International Museum Day was established with the aim of attracting the attention of the powers that be to the state of museum values and the expansion of museums. To make this a reality, museums must correspond to reality, work in the style of the new time and accept innovations that appear in the world.

Each International Museum Day has a theme, and the International Committee of Museums always provides an overview of activities related to the theme, making them accessible to everyone. The themes of International Museum Day are devoted to various issues, such as the responsibility of museums to society, the illegal export of cultural property, museums for a peaceful and harmonious life in society, and others. So the theme of 1997-1998. was "The fight against the illegal movement of cultural property", the theme of 2005 was "Museum - a bridge between cultures", 2008 - "Museums as a factor of social change and development", 2009 - "Museums and tourism", 2010. - "Museums for Social Harmony", 2011 - "Museums and Memory. An exhibit tells your story", 2012 - Museums in a changing world. New challenges, new inspiration.

There are many wonderful buildings on the planet that, thanks to their architecture, are museums. This includes the Louvre and the Hermitage, the Eiffel Tower and many other wonderful buildings.

Famous museums:

  • State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg (Russia)
  • State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin in Russia
  • State Tretyakov Gallery in Russia
  • Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London
  • Prado Museum in Spain

Congratulations on International Museum Day

Congratulations on Museum Day in verse

People always take care of relics,
Treasures from the eyes of strangers
In churches, cathedrals and monasteries,
But he himself knew about them only in words.
But Peter the Great strictly commanded,
So that the Russian people can see the treasures,
And a museum was opened in St. Petersburg
For all ordinary people to see.
That century was replaced by more than one century,
But everything that was created by man
Now stored in museums throughout the country
Connoisseurs of ancient antiquity.
They are focused and strict
In laboratories, archives, like gods,
And with the public they are friendly, smart,
Revealing to us the secrets of antiquity.
We wish them a happy Museum Day
We respect both their work and their skill.
Keepers of relics, antiquities,
We need your experience and knowledge!

Culture and history heritage, -
All that humanity is proud of,
All the best for many centuries
Carefully stored in the silence of museums,
This is where people find inspiration
And they get a lot of impressions
Bright moments come to life here
From the life of previous generations.
We want to wish in our rapid age
Museums should not give up their positions,
Let there be many visitors in the halls
And new interesting exhibitions!

International Museum Day-
Keepers of bygone years,
events, lives and ideas,
Great memorable victories.
May your business prosper
Let the memory be carefully preserved,
What life has already given us,
And what's to come next.

In the museum you are servants and gods:
In laboratories and archives they are very strict,
And in the halls with the public they are friendly, smart,
Revealing to us the secrets of antiquity

The years fly by, century after century passes,
Everything created in the world by man
Keep, loving humanity, -
Much is alive, thanks to you.

Guardians of ancient antiquity,
Connoisseurs of museum silence
We would like to congratulate you on Museum Day:
There is no doubt that everyone needs a museum.

Tour guide, our bow to you!
You live in a museum day after day
And you enlighten us, guests, -
A crowd of adults and children.

Epics, fairy tales, myths, true,
There is a lot of magic in the museum,
Tour guide, you reveal secrets
In the window of an ancient canvas.

And year after year tirelessly,
Living in captivity of history,
You lead tirelessly, bravely
Lovely work, I love it.

Thank you for preserving the memory of what happened in ancient years, and for always being ready to answer the most stupid questions from visitors. I wish originals and true happiness to all of you, dear curators of museum rarities. Just don’t be a fossil yourself on this wonderful day - International Museum Day!

There is nothing more beautiful than museum exhibits -
There are so many secrets in them, marvelous cobweb mysteries.
Here miracles happen from dawn to dusk,
And the world is hidden in the long museum corridors.

And we wish that time would not rush headlong,
And dust did not hide miracles. And, without regret,
Let the relics shine. And today we congratulate
Happy International Museum Day!

It seems to me that Moscow has been wanting to see the works of the Pre-Raphaelites for a very long time, and we are very pleased with the new opportunity to collaborate with Ms. Antonova and her colleagues and the opportunity to bring this exhibition to the Pushkin Museum.”
  6. Neil McGregor, Director of the British Museum, London:
“The museum world is one big family, and each family has its own legends. Without a doubt, the great legend of the modern museum community is Irina Antonova. I congratulate the Pushkin Museum on its 100th anniversary - it is a wonderful museum headed by a legendary director.”

“I congratulate the Pushkin Museum on its holiday and anniversary.”

You are etched in our hearts, we love this museum, we love you, dear Irina, and we congratulate you both on this wonderful anniversary.”
  9. Alfred Pacman, director of the Pompidou Center, Paris:
“100 years is both a little and a lot for a museum. It is necessary for this museum to live and develop; it has big plans for expansion. I hope that in the future I will often return to the Pushkin Museum to once again see works of art and meet with the museum team and its wonderful director Irina Antonova. Happy anniversary!"
  10. Thomas Campbell, director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York:

Dear Natalia Petrovna!

On the occasion of the glorious anniversary of your museum, accept congratulations from the museum workers of Veliky Novgorod. In a short period of just 50 years, your team turned the Izborsk Fortress into a large, popular, multidisciplinary, famous museum of the Pskov land. We love your museum, we are proud of you.

We wish the team successful implementation of their plans, health, happiness and all the best.

Sincerely, General Director of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve N.V. Grigorieva.

Dear friends! Dear colleagues!

We cordially congratulate you on your anniversary, on the museum’s birthday!

Each museum has a wonderful mission: to preserve everything that was created by generations of ancestors and pass it on to descendants, because our present is unthinkable without the past.

Coming to the museum we return to our roots!

Health and personal happiness, good luck and joy to you!

The staff of the State Darwin Museum.

Dear Natalia Petrovna!

We sincerely congratulate you and the staff of the State Historical-Architectural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve “Izborsk” on its half-century anniversary.

Over the years, you have come a long way from a folk museum operating on a voluntary basis at a library to a historical, architectural and natural landscape museum-reserve of federal significance with a vast territory.

Your “Izborsk Fridays”, which began as amateur associations, have enjoyed popular love for 50 years.

Your systematic archaeological research for 20 years has led to the fact that for the first time an ancient Russian urban settlement has been so extensively studied.

During the implementation of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation “On measures to preserve the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the Izborsk-Mal Valley in the Pskov region” in 1996, Izborsk achieved recognition at the federal level.

A museum is a living organism that does not stand still. Actively replenishing its funds and expanding its exhibition space, it has become one of the most famous visited places of traditional Russian culture.
You are rightfully the Keeper of Time, preserving not only history, but also Memory.

Our cooperation with you began with the exhibition “Bread of Siege Leningrad,” organized as part of the governor’s program to establish direct contacts between museums in St. Petersburg and the Pskov region. We hope to continue our joint projects and look forward to new meetings.
