The Sokolov family is from the Urals. The largest "dumpling" - Dmitry Sokolov

Sokolov Dmitry Vladimirovich (b. 1965) is a Russian comedian, showman and actor. Founder of the KVN team from Yekaterinburg “Ural dumplings”. Show business figure, participant in the entertainment project on the STS television channel “Show “Ural Dumplings”. He has an amazing, unpredictable, sometimes absurd sense of humor.

Childhood

Dima was born on April 11, 1965 in the city of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region. In the family of Irina Alexandrovna and Vladimir Sergeevich Sokolov, this was the second child (Dmitry has an older sister).

From early childhood, the boy grew up incredibly active and artistic. At the age of three, he already knew by heart “The Tale of the Bremen Town Musicians” by the Brothers Grimm, which was read to the child before bed. One day a TV repairman came to the Sokolovs’ home. While he was working, the child gave him a real performance: he told the whole fairy tale, and accompanied it with songs and dances. When the master finished his work and began to leave, he jokingly asked Dima’s parents: “Why do you need a TV with such and such an artist?”

Little Sokolov loved to sing, despite the fact that his hearing was poor. Although this did not stop him from studying at a music school and even performing in a folk ensemble.

But at first, things were rather bad with my studies at a comprehensive school. Due to excessive restlessness and activity, the boy did not listen to lessons attentively and did not remember school material. Teachers complained to parents about their child being too inquisitive and active. But, according to Dmitry’s mother, the boy did not grow up bad or dirty, he was simply a great inventor.

Starting from the fourth grade, the situation improved; the older Dima became, the better his academic performance. And when their class was taken to Moscow during the holidays, he generally pleasantly surprised the teachers with his proposal to take them not to the circus, zoo or cafe, as other children wanted, but to the theater.

Students

Having received a certificate of secondary education, Dmitry went to Yekaterinburg, where he became a student at the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the Ural Polytechnic Institute. His older sister was already studying here. She was the first activist in public life, a member of the “Horizon” construction team, and a member of the propaganda team. The girl always invited her parents and younger brother to numerous concerts and theme evenings organized by the construction team. Moreover, students organized these events not only within the institute’s walls; they often traveled to collective farms, hospitals, factories and other enterprises to give performances.

Such a fun student and construction brigade life captivated Dima, and soon he also became a member of Horizon. Sokolov was delighted with the atmosphere of humor and laughter that reigned in the detachment, quickly joined the team and became a local star.

After his second year, he went with a construction team to Astrakhan. Everything was great - performances, evenings with guitars and bonfires, a lot of new good friends. But during the trip, some students, including Dima, fell ill with typhoid fever. Long-term treatment was required, so Sokolov had to take an academic leave from the institute.

After recovery and before the start of the new semester, when he could go back to school, there was not much time left. But it was during this period that Dmitry was recruited to serve in the army. Once in the military construction unit, he did not forget about amateur performances here either. Having served, as expected, for two years, he returned to his native institute.

Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful

In 1991, Dima became a member of the KVN team "Neighbors", which united the best student comedians from two educational institutions - the Ural Polytechnic and Tyumen Medical Institutes. The team received an invitation to participate in the games of the KVN Major League, but at the qualifying stage they lost to the guys from Novosibirsk.

In 1992, Sokolov was unanimously elected commissar of student teams at the institute.

In 1993, the Neighbors team broke up. And then Dmitry, who had already thoroughly studied KVN cuisine from the inside, decided to create his own new team. As the commissar of construction teams, he selected the best and congenial representatives from all the propaganda teams of the Polytechnic Institute and invited them to his team. All these guys were not random, as Sokolov himself says, you don’t get into KVN just by choice, to play it, you need to have an innate sense of humor and artistry. This is how the now famous “Ural dumplings” were born throughout Russia. They decided to name the team in honor of a restaurant in Sverdlovsk with exactly the same name.

"Ural dumplings"

Immediately after its creation, in 1993, the team played a friendly game with the guys from the law school and won its first victory.

In 1995, “Ural Dumplings” took part in the city KVN championship, in which they not only reached the finals, but also became champions of Yekaterinburg, defeating the team from the Ural State University. In the same year they made their debut in the KVN Major League. Having performed at the festival in Sochi at the beginning of the year, the guys received an invitation to a gala concert during the Major League season.

The team spent five seasons in the KVN Major League, gradually rising to its most cherished goal:

  • 1995 – eliminated from the 1/8;
  • 1996 - lost already in 1/4;
  • 1997 - lost again at the 1/8 stage;
  • 1998 - reached the semi-finals, where they lost to the guys from the Tomsk team “Children of Lieutenant Schmidt”, who eventually became champions;
  • 2000 - they beat the “Burnt by the Sun” team from Sochi in the final, becoming not just champions of the Major League, but also securing their unofficial status as “the last champions of the 20th century.”

The performances of “Ural Dumplings” have always been a huge success. In addition to the championship, the team became the owner of prestigious KVN awards:

  • Summer Cup (2002);
  • “Big KiViN in the Dark” (2005, 2006);
  • “Big KiViN in Light” (1999, 2004);
  • “Big KiViN in gold” (2002).

In addition to the fact that Dmitry Sokolov founded such a talented team, it is worth noting his own performance on the KVN stage. Dima's appearance was always an explosive mixture of brutal, subtle and at the same time simple humor. He spoke all his jokes calmly, sometimes even gloomily, without a smile and with a stony face, which caused even more laughter in the audience. The audience especially remembered the verse “Lonely White Mouse” performed by Sokolov, which is rightly called a classic of KVN humor.

A television

“Ural Dumplings” became the only KVN team that, after finishing its career in the Major League, managed to continue performing on television with almost the same composition and even celebrate its twentieth anniversary. At the same time, their popularity does not decrease every year, but, on the contrary, grows.

In 2007, the guys came up with their project “Show News” (a humorous version of the news program), which they presented on the TNT television channel. The first episodes were popular with viewers, even for some time included in the channel's Top 10 programs. Gradually, the show's ratings began to fall.

In 2009, “Ural Dumplings” had the chance to have a big concert performance on Ren-TV. The channel's producers did not allocate any money to organize the filming, but the guys decided not to waste the opportunity that had arisen and recorded the concert using their own funds. Here they made the right decision; they were soon offered permanent cooperation on the STS channel.

Every month they prepare and show a new humorous program. Dmitry often plays the role of a simple-minded but sophisticated village peasant. In addition to appearing on stage, Sokolov is both a director, a concert organizer, and one of the authors of numerous jokes, original ideas, songs and sketches.

The most famous and popular concert programs of the Ural Dumplings:

  • “Laughter at the Christmas Tree”;
  • "Refreeze";
  • "Laughter";
  • "Laughter in the City";
  • "Star screams. Laughter of psychos";
  • "Laughbat";
  • “100 gigabytes of laughter”;
  • "Back to the Bakery";
  • "Stay funny";
  • "Funny Bratva";
  • "Happy in the test";
  • "Koldoeburg";
  • "Out of the game";
  • "Because gladiolus."

The team’s work was highly praised by the Academy of Russian Television Foundation. In 2013, the guys received the prestigious TEFI Commonwealth television award for their kind and sparkling humor. In the same year, according to Forbes magazine, “Ural Pelmeni” was included in the “50 Main Russian Celebrities”.

In addition to “Ural Dumplings,” Dmitry Sokolov sometimes appeared on other television channels, where he performed solo numbers in humorous shows:

  • in the parody program “Big Difference” (Channel One);
  • in the improvisational TV show “Southern Butovo” (Channel One);
  • in the information and entertainment program “ProjectorParisHilton” (Channel One);
  • in the humorous show “Comedy Club” (TNT).

From 2011 to 2013, the sketch show “Unreal Story” was aired on the STS channel, where Sokolov played the role of the head of the village of Khitropopovka (Luka Lukich).

In 2015, Dmitry Sokolov turned fifty years old; Ural Dumplings celebrated this event on stage with the concert “50 Friends of SOKOLOUSEN”.

Personal life

Dima met his first wife Natasha while studying at the institute. She studied at the Faculty of Engineering and Economics. Together the students went to the construction team. On the trip, when in the evenings they gathered around the fire and sang songs with a guitar, Natasha immediately set her eyes on the universal joker nicknamed Falcon. And he, in turn, drew attention to the smart and beautiful girl.

Dima looked after her very beautifully, the lovers did not delay the wedding and got married. In 1992, they had a boy, who was named Alexander. Ten years later, the family was replenished with a girl, Anya.

But in the early 2000s, Dmitry just became fanatically interested in the Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful. I began to be at home less and less often, but this occupation did not bring in a decent income. All worries about the children and the household fell on the shoulders of the wife. At some point, she could not stand it and asked her husband to make a choice - either his constant traveling would stop and he would be close to his family, or they would separate. Sokolov chose divorce because KVN became his life’s work.

Natalia took the separation very hard, but did not forbid her ex-husband from seeing the children. Now the old grievances have subsided, Natasha and Dima have maintained friendly relations. She never established her personal life and did not get married a second time.

Dmitry did not stay single for long. In 2006, a meeting of KVN student teams was held in Yekaterinburg. Dima was invited to join the jury. One young participant, performing on stage for the team “Irina Mikhailovna,” attracted his attention. Then at a party he got to know this girl, whose name was Ksenia Li.

She was from Kazakhstan, a wonderful singer, beautiful, open and cheerful. After meeting, Dmitry fell for her even more strongly and began to show signs of attention. But Ksyusha translated everything into a joke; the young girl was embarrassed by the big age difference (Dmitry is 23 years older than Ksenia). But Sokolov was persistent, courted, gave gifts, invited to celebrate the New Year holidays in the city of Sochi. No one had ever looked after Ksenia so beautifully; Dima conquered her with his care and kindness.

For Ksyusha, Sokolov’s expensive gifts (a fur coat, a car, a house) were not so important, but the fact that he supported her the most during a particularly difficult period. Since childhood, her disease has progressed - deformation of her legs. Some time after meeting Dima, Ksenia began to walk worse and worse, it even came to the point of using crutches. For a long time the girl could not decide to undergo surgery. Dmitry persuaded her, paid for everything and during the rehabilitation period was nearby, giving Ksyusha foot massages at night.

In September 2011, Dima and Ksenia had a gorgeous wedding in Yekaterinburg. It was very noisy and fun. In October 2012, the couple had their first girl, Maria. In 2015, almost on her husband’s fiftieth birthday, Ksenia gave him a son, Ivan. Dmitry's half-century anniversary was loudly celebrated on April 11, and a week later, on April 19, Vanka was born. In May 2017, they had another girl, Sofia (initially, the parents wanted to name their daughter Ioanna, but then changed their minds).

Dmitry devotes every free minute to his wife and children. Now it’s difficult for him to find time for his favorite hobby, fishing, or for watching the good old comedies of Gaidai, which Sokolov adores.

According to a survey of Express Gazeta readers, the most popular humorous television program is the talk show “Ural Dumplings.” The team of cheerful and resourceful Ural residents turns 20 this year. Its founder is the most mature and colorful participant - Dmitry SOKOLOV. If Sokol talks about his life off television, it is only in his characteristic humorous manner. Relatives and friends of the “dumpling” helped us understand what was a joke and what was the truth.

Dmitry Sokolov born in the small town of Pervouralsk, not far from Yekaterinburg.

Dima has been an unusual child since childhood, “Pelmeni’s” mother Irina Aleksandrovna assures Express Newspaper. - At the age of three, he already knew “The Bremen Town Musicians” by heart. One day a repairman came to us to fix the TV. So Dima sang and danced the whole fairy tale to him. The master was delighted! As he was leaving, he said to my husband and me: “Why do you need a TV? You have such a son growing up!”

- In one of the numbers Dmitry plays the balalaika...

The son graduated from music school despite the fact that he had no hearing. He studied diligently, even participated in the ensemble.

- Were you successful at school?

I studied poorly until the fourth grade. He was a very active boy, he was constantly inventing something, and the teacher really didn’t like it. At parent-teacher meetings, she complained: “I don’t even know what your Dima will turn out to be...” And in the fifth grade, the teachers changed, and everything began to improve for Dima. I remember the teacher took them to Moscow. The guys - some to the cafe, some to the zoo, and the son - to the theater. This was the first time he was praised for this in front of the class.

- Have you ever felt embarrassed for your son?

He was an inventor, but not a dirty trickster. True, he made my father and I nervous once when he forgot the keys to the apartment and decided to go down from the neighbor’s fifth floor to our fourth floor through a drainpipe. When I imagined that he could break loose, I told my husband: “Take the belt!” But he is a gentle man: he only held the belt in his hands, but could not hit his son... Dima never even stood in the corner: we will punish him, but he will stand for a couple of minutes and leave. So we are very kind parents: we laugh and go our separate ways.

unrequited love

After graduation, Dmitry began to actively prepare for entering a university. My older sister, who had already been studying at the Ural Polytechnic Institute for two years, helped me decide on a profession.

At that time, student construction teams were popular,” continues Irina Aleksandrovna. - The guys, in their free time from school, went to collective farms and organized concerts there. My husband and I tried to attend all the events in which our daughter participated, and we took Dima with us - we wanted to show how fun student life is. It seems to me that he went to college just for this.

After the second year, my son and the construction team went to Astrakhan. The heat there was terrible, they drank water every now and then and caught some kind of infection. Dima was the first to fall: the doctors took him to the hospital with a high fever and for a week they could not figure out what was wrong with him. My boy almost died then. The diagnosis was announced only after a professorial consultation - typhoid fever. Together with him, seven more were taken to the hospital, the rest of the construction crews organized concerts under the windows. Very good guys! Dima was lucky with his friends: they “infected” him with an interest in life and got him interested in KVN.

- Your son created the KVN team “Ural Dumplings”. Were you proud when they started showing Dima on TV?

I am glad that there are such wonderful guys on the team: talented, friendly - they have been together for so many years! And I was always terribly worried about my son. We still get excited when we see him on screen. By the way, a lot of what happens in our family is later revealed on stage.

- Probably, there was no end to the fans?

Even in kindergarten, he liked one girl, but she was friends with another boy. I remember Dima was very upset. In the ninth grade, he also experienced unrequited love. Once I went to a collective farm, earned some money there, and used the entire amount to buy a huge bouquet of roses for my beloved. I came to her, but my mother opened the door. Dima was confused, asked her to give her daughter flowers, and he ran away. Nothing worked out with this girl: she married Dima’s friend.

Walked on crutches

Dmitry met his future wife Natalya at the institute. The girl studied to become an economic engineer and was also in the construction team. Numerous trips, songs around the fire - Natasha quickly drew attention to the joker named Falcon. Dima courted beautifully, and soon the lovers decided to get married. In 1992, their son Sasha was born, and ten years later their daughter Anya. But her husband’s fanatical passion for KVN began to irritate Natalya: it did not bring constant income, but it took up all her time.

Natasha is a wonderful woman,” sighs Irina Aleksandrovna. - She’s beautiful, smart, but... When Dima was making dumplings, all the worries about the house and children fell on her shoulders. One day Natasha could not stand it and put him before a choice. She wanted her husband to always be there, and Dima was constantly on the road. They ended up breaking up six years ago. She was going through the divorce very hard, but did not forbid Dima to see the children. Now they are friends. Natasha has never established her personal life - it seems to me that she is still worried.

But Sokol did not stay single for long. In 2006, at a meeting of KVN student teams in Yekaterinburg, he met a young member of the team “Irina Mikhailovna”. Ksenia Li performed on stage, and Dmitry sat on the jury as a recognized Kaveanov authority.

Ksyusha is from Kazakhstan. “She sings great,” said one of her team members Vladimir Kovalev. - Sokolov immediately fell for her and began to show signs of attention. But Ksyusha translated everything into a joke - she was embarrassed by the age difference. (Now Dmitry is 48, and his chosen one is 25. - V.M.) Their relationship entered a serious phase after the New Year holidays, which they celebrated together in Sochi. It seems to me that Dima won her over with his kindness and care. Ksyukha said that she had never been looked after so beautifully in her life!

Usually all biographies start the same. Therefore, following the logic of the game, Dmitry was born on the eve of the first manned space flight, but four years later, in the quiet town of Pervouralsk, in the Sverdlovsk region. Dad's name was Vladimir, and mom's name will be discussed below.

Dima has been a restless and creative thinker since childhood. His mother Irina Aleksandrovna once told reporters that at the age of three, her son memorized “The Bremen Town Musicians.” And one day, when the TV master visited them, Dima organized his own benefit performance. He performed all the roles himself, singing and dancing along the way. Leaving the “one-man show,” the discouraged consumer service worker was perplexed: “What do you need TV for now?”

In the fifth grade, student Sokolov impressed his teachers a lot. While visiting Moscow on an excursion, all classmates expressed a desire to visit the circus, ice cream parlor and zoo, only Dima asked to go to the theater. Lacking hearing and voice, he diligently attended music school and managed to play in the school ensemble.

Coming and living at the show

Having received a school certificate, Dmitry goes to Yekaterinburg and becomes a student at UPI (Ural Polytechnic Institute), deciding to make a career as a chemical technologist. But fate decreed otherwise. While with a construction team in Kazakhstan, Dmitry falls ill with typhoid fever and is forced to take academic leave. Here Sokolov's biography zigzags into the ranks of the Soviet army. During his illness, “tails” accumulate, he is expelled, and Dmitry ends up in a construction battalion for two years. After serving his army term, the matured Sokolov tries his hand at the stage as part of the “Neighbors” team.

Having completed the “young fighter” course, he assembles his own team, which debuts in 1993 under the name “Ural Dumplings”. The participants of the famous team were Dmitry’s friends from the construction team from his native UPI.

The new project turned out to be so successful that it grew to become a living legend of KVN. A promising and original team relatively quickly found itself in the KVN Major League. In a short period of time, the “dumplings” won six honorary prizes - the Centenary Champions Cup and a motley selection of KiViNs.

On the wave of success and well-deserved fame, in 2009 Sokolov and his teammates launched the humorous show “Ural Dumplings” on the STS TV channel. Dmitry combines his brilliant performance on the stage of this sparkling show with the work of a director, screenwriter and joke writer.

Personal life

On the love front, Dmitry fought a couple of successful battles for the hand and heart of his chosen one, so he was married twice. The first wedding was a student's. The lovers studied at the same institute. Sokolov became close to his future wife Natalya in the construction team. With a difference of ten years lived together, children appeared: son Sasha - in 1992, daughter Anya - in 2002. But Sokolov’s touring chaos and everyday troubles destroyed the marriage.

In 2011, Dmitry married Ksenia Li, a member of one of the KVN teams, with whom he became friends while sitting on one of the jury. It is noteworthy that Sokolov proposed to Ksenia five years after they met. In their second marriage they were born: Masha - in 2012 and Vanya - in 2015.

Ksenia Li participates in the creation of new programs for Ural Dumplings, accompanies her husband on tours and filming, supporting him in everything.

Among them are “Visiting Skalka”, “Laughterbat”, “Dumplings - Refreeze”, “Back to the bakery”, “People in something”, “Happy in the dough”.

Childhood and youth

Dmitry Sokolov was born on April 11, 1965 in Pervouralsk, located 40 kilometers from Yekaterinburg. He became the second child in the family (Dmitry has an older sister) of Vladimir Sergeevich and Irina Aleksandrovna Sokolov.

According to his mother, his son’s artistic inclinations appeared already at the age of 3, when he recited by heart monologues from “The Bremen Town Musicians” with dances and songs. And all this - despite the lack of ear for music. This circumstance, however, did not prevent him from later graduating from music school and performing as part of a folk ensemble.

In primary school, he studied poorly, as he was overly active, restless and inattentive. But, having matured, he corrected the situation with his academic performance. And during a trip to Moscow with the whole class, he pleasantly surprised the teachers when he suggested taking them not to a cafe or zoo, like other children, but to the theater.

After receiving his certificate, the young man entered the Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI) at the Faculty of Chemistry, where his older sister studied. She was an active participant in public life, a fighter of the construction brigade, a member of the propaganda brigade, always invited her relatives to their theme evenings and numerous concerts, which they organized not only within the walls of their educational institution, but also in hospitals, factories, and was able to captivate her brother with the possibilities of the wonderful construction brigade and student life.

Speech by Dmitry Sokolov

At the end of his second year, he went with the Horizon construction team to work in Astrakhan, where he met many good friends, but fell ill with typhoid fever. Subsequently, he had to undergo long-term treatment and take academic leave for medical reasons. When the time came for military service, he ended up in a military construction unit.

Dmitry Sokolov and KVN

After serving in the army, Dmitry returned to his native institute. In 1991, with the KVN team “Neighbors,” which united students from UPI and the Tyumen Medical Institute, he participated in the Major League games (they lost to Novosibirsk that year). Then he was elected commissar of the institute’s student groups. In 1993, the “Neighbors” team broke up, and he decided to organize his own team, inviting into it like-minded people from the best representatives of the propaganda teams of the UPI construction teams.

Dmitry's first game in the newly created team, called "Ural Dumplings", took place in the fall of the same year in the semi-finals against the team from the Law Academy and ended in a convincing victory for the newcomers. In the final, they met with the guys from the local university, again won a beautiful victory and became the champions of their hometown.

In 1995, one of the most significant events for “Pelmeni” happened - they played brilliantly at the international KVN festival in Sochi and got into the Major League for the first time. Subsequently, their performances usually always created a sensation. As confirmation, one can recall the parody of Vladimir Zhirinovsky “I am a merman, I am a merman” or the song “Bubbles are flying”, sung by Sokolov in 1997. And his congratulations in verse on the 2000th New Year (“Lonely White Mouse” - about a mouse who lost her virginity in a barn) generally became a classic of the genre.

As part of the team, Dmitry won many prestigious awards and titles, including the title of Major League champion, winner of the Super Champions Cup and winner of the music festival in Jurmala “Voting KiViN”.

Further career Dmitry Sokolov

Having completed his career in KVN, Dmitry, together with other team members, continued to operate in the entertainment industry under the Ural Dumplings brand. In 2007, they presented the “Show News” program on TNT, a comic version of regular news broadcasts. Its first releases were very popular among viewers.

In 2009, the opportunity arose to show a large concert performance of “Pelmeni” on the Ren-TV channel. No funds were allocated to organize filming, but they decided not to miss the opportunity and recorded the concert with their own money. And they made the right decision - soon they were offered cooperation by the STS channel.

Within the framework of the STS “Pelmeni”, such humorous “personal” performances began to be prepared and shown monthly. Sokolov, or “Falcon”, as his friends call him, usually acted in them as a village guy, seemingly simple-minded, but possessing special folk wisdom.

Subsequently, not a single project of the team could do without the participation of the talented comedian. He proposed original ideas, organized tours, prepared concerts, wrote percussion songs and jokes, and also performed solo numbers - on Channel One in “Big Difference”, on TNT in “Comedy Club”, and in other humorous television programs.

In parallel with the show “Ural Dumplings”, the team released the sketch “Unreal Story”, where Dmitry got the role of Luka Lukich, was the initiator of the comedy talent competition “MEAT GRINDER”, the release of the sketch show “Valera TV”, where Andrei Rozhkov, Dmitry shone with him Brekotkin, Ilana Isakzhanova (Yuryeva) and other colleagues.

The organizer of “Ural Dumplings” Dmitry Sokolov cannot imagine his biography without KVN, because even when he was faced with a choice between family and stage, he chose the latter. Closely intertwining his life with creative activity, the artist reached the pinnacle of his career. But, at the same time, a loving woman and children are always waiting for him at home, who will always support their father in difficult moments.

Preparation for KVN

Dmitry Vladimirovich Sokolov, the founder of the KVN team “Ural Dumplings,” spent his childhood and youth in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region, and it was there that the biography of the actor and comedian, who was actively supported by his family, began. He was born on April 11, 1965 in the Urals. From early childhood, the boy began to show unusual abilities and creativity. Already at the age of three, little Dima told from memory the fairy tale “The Town Musicians of Bremen” in a unique humorous style.

In elementary school, the teacher often complained about Dima’s restlessness and excessive activity, disapproving of his behavior. And in high school, under the guidance of another teacher, the boy found where to direct his energy. Sokolov began to actively engage in creative extracurricular activities, which greatly pleased his new class teacher.

After graduating from school, like any resident of a small village who wants to get a higher education, Dmitry went to Sverdlovsk. There he entered the Ural Polytechnic Institute. Wanting to gain work experience, Sokolov joined the VSSO, where students were instilled with a love of work and taught to perform tasks in a team. Also, the guys from the construction team, in their free time from the collective farm and construction sites, regularly organized KVN concerts, where they sang, joked and danced. It was student life with its humor and creativity that captivated Dmitry, who already then understood how he saw his future life.

Personal life and career

As a student at the institute and an activist in the construction team, Dmitry met Natalya, who was studying as an engineer-economist. Regular trips to nature, filled with humor and funny stories, as well as romantic songs with a guitar, won Natalya’s heart. After a year of romantic relationships with original courtship, the girl accepted Dima’s offer to marry him. In 1992, the young people had a son, Alexander, and in 2002, a daughter, Anna.

His career as an amateur creative artist began with performances in the rock group “Neighbors”. And in 1993, Dmitry Sokolov decided to create his own KVN team, which thundered throughout the Russian Federation under the name “Ural dumplings”. Already in 2000, the comedian received the champion prize in the KVN Major League, and in 2002 he became the winner of the Summer Cup. Along with these awards, Sokolov’s team and its participants were awarded prizes at festivals in Jurmala and other projects created to support Russian comedians.

But achievements and awards did not bring the main thing to Dmitry Sokolov’s family - finances, which his wife Natalya was counting on. Due to the constant workload of her husband and his absence from home during the tour, the girl had to independently cope with household chores and raise children. When the talented comedian returned home with another award, Natalya confronted him with a tough choice: either a family or a career in KVN.

The artist, who lived on the stage and performing, could not give up his brainchild, “Ural Dumplings,” and agreed to a divorce.

From that moment on, a turning point and a very difficult emotionally period began for Dmitry Sokolov. Natalya could not forgive her beloved for his choice and their relationship deteriorated forever. However, the ex-wife did not forbid Dima to see his children and participate in their life and upbringing. It was hard for him to return to the apartment, where no one else was waiting for him, and meet with his son and daughter on schedule.

New family

The man, accustomed to family and children's laughter, did not turn into a lonely bachelor. After some time, he met KVN participant Ksenia Li. She performed on stage, and Dmitry sat on the jury as an experienced leader of the Ural Dumplings. The comedian, who at that time turned 45, was not embarrassed by the age difference between him and his chosen one of 20 years. He began to actively court the girl, who perceived signs of attention from him as a funny, but not entirely successful joke.

When Ksenia realized that Sokolov was not joking and his intentions were quite serious, and his courtship was charming, the girl gave in. The relationship between the famous screenwriter and comedian Sokolov and the young KVN artist moved to a more serious stage, and Ksenia realized that she had met the man of her dreams. Dmitry treated his beloved with warmth and care, and she reciprocated his feelings. They were connected not only by sincere feelings, but also by love for KVN.

Even before marriage, a tragedy happened with Ksyusha. Since childhood, the girl suffered from a serious illness that led to deformation of her legs. And in 2006, when a relationship began between her and Dmitry, the situation worsened significantly.

Ksenia needed an urgent and expensive operation, for which the aspiring KVN star did not have the money. In addition, the girl was very afraid of any surgical intervention, fearing that if it failed, she would never be able to walk. Dmitry Sokolov not only was not afraid of his beloved’s illness, but also persuaded her to have an operation.

While waiting in line at the clinic, the artist was constantly next to Ksenia. All night long Sokolov gave the girl a foot massage to help relieve pain. And just like in a real fairy tale, the complex operation ended successfully for Ksenia and all her health problems were left behind.

On September 8, 2011, Dmitry and Ksenia got married, officially registering their marriage. Ksenia Sokolova parted with her Kazakh passport and became a citizen of the Russian Federation. And in October 2012, the young wife gave birth to Sokolov’s beautiful daughter Maria. After giving birth, the girl continued to actively participate in her husband’s touring life. Together with Dmitry Sokolov, they are writing new scripts for the Ural Dumplings’ performances, including humorous scenes from their biography and family life.

The children from his first marriage accepted the new woman in their dad’s life very kindly. They regularly spend time with Ksenia and her younger sister, helping in raising Masha and spending her leisure time while the father of the family is away. In 2015, there was another addition to the Sokolovs. Ksenia gave birth to her husband’s son Ivan, and 2 years later another daughter, Sophia.

Dmitry Sokolov, in turn, is in no hurry to close the “Ural Dumplings” page in his biography, because for its creator the team is another family. Since 2009, the team launched its own show on the STS channel. The artist also participates in television projects “Comedy Club”, “Show News” and others. And in his free time from performing, the man works part-time as an organizer of events and concerts.
