Erez and Amit started playing together in 1998. The first attempts at joint creativity resulted in several simple trance tracks recorded under the pseudonym Shidapu&Duvdev. After some time they changed their name to Infected Infected Mushroom.

In 1999, the duo released their first full-length album, The Gathering, which included nine tracks. The compositions were filled with a special atmosphere and were distinguished by a “dark” rhythmic sound. Due to this, the album became famous and made a sufficient contribution to the popularization and development of psy-trance in the world.

Just a year later, in 2000, the band released another album called Classical Mushrooms, which instantly gained popularity and became one of the most popular albums not only of the band, but also of the genre as a whole. The composition Bust a Move is recognized as the duo's most famous track.

The guys never stood still creatively, they developed and improved their sound. The result of the efforts was the disc B.P. released in 2001. Empire, warmly received not only by fans, but also by music critics. However, he was not very popular among the progressive part of the listeners. This album was the first where the musicians went beyond the boundaries of classical, so to speak, psy-trance.

The album Converting Vegeterians, released in 2003, is recognized as the most controversial album in the group’s entire career. The album was released on two discs. The first disc, Trance Side, continues Infected Mushroom's previous work in the direction of dance music, while the second is experimental in terms of playing with directions. The tracks from The Other Side disc are made in such genres of electronic music as downtempo, breakbeat and electro-pop. Michelle Adamson, a British singer, was involved in the recording of the album.

The 2004 album IM the Supervisor surprised listeners with a new style of performance. In addition to traditional psy-trance, the group did not abandon the desire to engage in other musical genres. The album was called too commercial, but this did not stop it from becoming the best-selling.

At the same time, two guitarists joined the duo - Erez Netz and Tom Cunningham. In 2007, the foursome was replenished with one more member - drummer from Brazil Rogerio Jardim.

At the end of March 2007, the group released a new album, Vicious Delicious. The album is offered in two versions: Limited Edition and regular. LE is sold in special packaging with illustration, and the teeth of the disc holder are broken to symbolize the teeth from the Becoming Insane video.

In 2009, the album Legend of the Black Shawarma was released, Jonathan Davis from Korn was invited to record one of the tracks. In 2012, the eighth studio disc Army of Mushrooms was released, which included not only the usual psy-trance tracks, but also compositions in the dubstep and drum’n’bass genres.
