Eva Bushmina told the site in an exclusive interview about what she plans to do after leaving the VIA Gra group. The singer, unlike her former colleagues in the musical trio, such as Anna Sedokova, Vera Brezhneva and Svetlana Loboda, no longer wants to exploit her sexuality on stage. She dreams of ending this image.

website: Eva, what do you think caused the collapse of the VIA Gra group?

The decisive role, in my opinion, was played by Kostya’s fatigue from constant rotations in the group. Anyway, he is a creative person and creates songs for a specific artist, not a group as a whole.

website: How long ago did you realize that the musical group no longer had a future?

“VIA Gra” has always been on the list of the most successful groups in Russian and Ukrainian show business, so it is incorrect to say that the group had no future. The point is different. Konstantin worked with VIA Groi for 13 years, Albina joined the group eight years ago, and I joined for three years. For each of us this time became decisive. We wanted change, something new. For Konstantin Meladze, “this new” was full-length, and for Albina and me – solo projects.

website: In one of the interviews, you talked about how you never found a common language with another member of the group -. Please tell us in more detail what your conflict was?

We have never had serious conflicts. There were disagreements, but only on work issues. It is normal when a person has his own point of view and expresses it. As they say, truth is born in dispute. To be honest, Santa and I did not become close friends. We probably didn't work together for that long, and we simply didn't have time to get to know each other better.

website: Are you allowed to perform VIA Gra songs after the band ceases its activities?

Now my thoughts and energies are aimed at creating a solo project, my own songs. Perhaps over time I will return to this issue, but as an accomplished performer.

website: When you came to VIA Gro, you became a new blonde beauty, replacing Tatyana Kotova in this post. Is this your natural hair color?

Yes, this is my natural color. I once dyed my hair brunette and really regretted it, I was waiting for my natural shade to return. Now I’m trying not to torture my hair too much even with care products. I only do comprehensive hair protection procedures.

website: Are you friends with the singer Nastya Kamenskikh, do you want to turn the duet “Potap and Nastya” into a trio?

I am currently fully immersed in working on a solo project and plan to present it to the general public early next year. Someday Nastya and I may record a song together, but only as a creative experiment.

website: Are you going to continue performing in the “VIA Gra style,” that is, relying not only on similar songs, but also on a sexy image?

I can assure you that I will move away from the “VIA Gra” image, but let me leave the details secret.

website: Who is your favorite singer? Would you like to be like any celebrity?

It is difficult to name just one performer when there are so many talented singers in the world. I am very inspired by Rachel Ferrell - a true genius in the world of music. But I wouldn't want to become like her or anyone else. The meaning of our profession is precisely to be unique.

website: What other areas of activity would you like to prove yourself in? Now many celebrities are applying, for example, to become designers...

I make every effort to succeed as a solo performer, and I don’t want to be scattered with other activities. Perhaps time will pass and I will want to try myself in a different form.

website: You are several months old, congratulations! Please tell us about your chosen one.

Unfortunately, I do not comment on my personal life. It's personal, isn't it?!

website: Some ex-soloists of VIA Gra, for example, Olga Koryagina, decided to leave the group in order to devote themselves entirely to their family. Have you ever thought about something like this?

I am thinking about how to successfully combine these aspects of my life, and do not intend to put work and personal life on different scales.

website: Do you think there is an ideal age for motherhood?

It's hard for me to judge this. I have friends who gave birth at both 20 and 40 years old. Looking at them, I understand that age does not matter. The only thing that matters is your state of mind.

website: When do you want to have children?

Everything has its time.

Eva Bushmina, aka Yana Igorevna Shvets and singer LAYAH, was born on April 2, 1989 in Sverdlovsk in the Lugansk region in Ukraine. Yana's parents had nothing to do with show business. The father was an entrepreneur, and the mother was a housewife and was involved in raising Yana and her brother Oleg.

Youth

At the age of 17, Yana decided to take a risk and go to Kyiv. She received a high school diploma and arrived in the capital of Ukraine. The girl entered the Variety and Circus Academy, becoming a student of the pop vocal department.

The popular singer Nastya Kamenskikh studied with her on the course. They couldn’t even imagine then that they would become popular artists. Since studying at the academy, the girls have maintained friendly communication.

During this time, Yana was a member of the musical group “Lucky”, danced in the ballet “The Best”, and tried her hand as a presenter on the “M” TV channel in the “Guten Morgen” program.

Music career

In 2009, Yana became a participant in “Star Factory 3” in Ukraine. She had to go through difficult auditions. For 3 months she gained authority from her mentors, rehearsed and became popular with the audience. Thus, Eva Bushmina was born.

In fact, Eva did not win at the Factory, but took 5th place, but Konstantin Meladze did not leave his ward. Meladze invited Eva to become a member of the mega-popular group VIA Gra.

In 2010, she toured the cities of her native country, took part as a participant in the Star Factory-3 in Kyiv at the final concerts. Eva was named "Discovery of the Year".

In 2012, it became known that Bushmina left VIA Gro. The reason for this was Eva’s desire to take part in the “Star Factory: Russia – Ukraine” project.

Solo project

Eva noted that she always wanted to be a solo singer and finally feels the strength to fulfill her desire. Eva went solo in 2012, and in 2013 she released her debut song “Soboy”, for which she shot a video. After some time, Eva’s new song “Summer for Rent” was released, then the single “Religion”. Fans received her gifts with special favor.

In 2016, the girl surprised fans by saying that she was stopping the Eva Bushmina project. Surprisingly, the girl did not plan to stop there. He appeared under the name “LAYAH” in a new image. In the spring of 2016, LAYAH released a video and took part in Niki Madisan’s social film “Swallow the Dust.” In 2017, the singer appeared before the public in a candid photo shoot and a new video for the song “Don’t Hide.”

Personal life and hobbies

After the star factory, Eva began dating the son of a famous politician in Ukraine, Dmitry Vladimirovich Lanov. At that time he was married, and therefore there were many rumors about the affair. In the future, the couple got married. The wedding was held in secret; only close people were present at the ceremony.

In 2013, Eva gave birth to a child. Now the couple is raising a daughter, who was named by the original name Edita.

The artist loves to look for untapped talents and try something new. He enjoys drawing, wakeboarding, horseback riding, cycling, and regularly goes to the pool. The singer is also interested in windsurfing and yoga. Recently I made 2 parachute jumps with an instructor.

The singer actively maintains a social page on Instagram. She has more than 55 thousand subscribers. Laya regularly posts new photos and videos, even though not all subscribers appreciate them, openly saying that the change in Eva Bushmina’s image has not gone for the better.

Eva Bushmina is the creative pseudonym of Ukrainian vocalist, ex-member of “VIA Gra” Yana Igorevna Shvets. In 2016, she changed it to LAYAH, citing the desire to stop associating herself with the past.

There is a widely held point of view that the singer’s solo work has become favorably different in its drama, emotional component and intrigue not only from her own previous works, but also from the majority of the musical material that has captured the pinnacle of domestic show business.

Childhood and youth

The future artist was born on April 2, 1989 in the Ukrainian Sverdlovsk, Voroshilovgrad region (now Lugansk region). Her father Igor Mikhailovich is an entrepreneur, her mother Svetlana Aleksandrovna is a housewife. The singer has an older brother Oleg, who works in the field of information security.

From an early age she was interested in and seriously studied dancing, developing plasticity and grace. But when their family moved to Kyiv in 2001, she did not find a suitable dance school and, on the advice of her father, a former musician, she began to attend a vocal studio and learn to sing. Then she worked part-time in an audio studio, recording children's songs, CDs with which were included in magazines for children.

After graduating from school, she became a student at the Faculty of Variety Arts at the Kyiv Variety and Circus Academy, but interrupted her studies without receiving a full higher education.

During her student years, she met and became friends with a member of the duet “Potap and Nastya” Anastasia Kamenskikh, with whom she later continued to be friends.

Working at a recording studio on a permanent basis, the girl sang backing vocals and performed in show ballet. At different times, she was a member of the pop group Lucky, a ballet dancer at The Best, and worked as a TV presenter for the infotainment program “Guten Morgen” on channel M1.

Star Factory

In 2009, a girl who had long dreamed of getting into show business managed to audition for the Star Factory music competition (Ukrainian version), the producer of which was Konstantin Meladze himself. According to her, a friend who was an administrator of a reality show helped her bypass the line of hundreds of applicants. As a result, she ended up in the “Star House” and took the name Eva and her mother’s maiden name, Bushmina, as her stage name.

During the three months of participation in the project, the manufacturer managed to sing on the same stage with such stars as Valery Meladze (“In spite of”), Sofia Rotaru (“I loved him”), Verka Serduchka (“I didn’t understand”) and many other pop artists .

The singer won the love of the audience by performing the compositions “Painful or Sweet”, “Stop”, “Beyond the River”, “Mysticism”. At the reporting concert of the show, her performance in a duet with the Latvian singer Stas Shurins with the driving song “Goodbye, Mom!” caused a real explosion of emotions and a flurry of applause. At the end of the show, she took fifth place. By the way, another future “Viagryanka” Santa Dimopoulos took part in the project, but she never made it to the finals.

In 2010, the aspiring artist, together with other talented graduates of the show, including Alexei Matias, who was dubbed an “angel” in the press after performing the song “Angels Don’t Die”, Odessa comedian Kolya Serga, owner of amazingly flexible vocals Erica, went on a tour of Ukraine. Then she took part in the final concerts and in the Superfinal of the TV show, which she left, having received an offer from Konstantin Meladze to become a member of VIA Gra instead of Tatyana Kotova.

At the enchanting anniversary concert dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the group and held in November in the Kiev palace “Ukraine”, the former and current sexy soloists of “VIA Gra” hugged and kissed on stage, and behind the scenes they did not hide their negative attitude towards each other. So, according to some media reports, at a rehearsal Meikher called Bushmina a “shitty ballerina” after the girl demonstrated several dance moves. Although it was possible that this was said as a joke, because Eva herself later noted that she saw off Nadya, who left the team in November 2011 due to pregnancy, literally with tears in her eyes.

Among others, she embodied the image of Adele, Rihanna, Lara Fabian and even Michael Jackson and Mikhail Boyarsky, heroically imitating the hoarseness of a musketeer's voice.

In April 2014, the vocalist presented her next video work for the composition “#kakvoda” (“Like Water”), made in Spain in partnership with Ukrainian video director Tanya Muinho. This composition was created especially for the singer by the talented participant of “Voice of the Country” Rozhden Anusi.
