At a conference at the Russian State Children's Library, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation Anna Kuznetsova presented a selection of modern children's literature, which, in her words, “even adults are scared to show.”

The list of the Children's Ombudsman includes 16 works of modern children's literature. Among them, in particular, is Svetlana Lavrova's fairy tale "Where the cock's horse gallops" and the poet Igor Irtenev's poem "The Tale of the Eye" that "fell into the toilet."

“Unfortunately, parents sometimes come across this in books...”, the children’s ombudsman intrigued. Kuznetsova admitted that there were some things she couldn’t even voice, “because it’s embarrassing to say what they sometimes write in children’s books.”

“The most decent of all is “Where the Cock Horse Gallops”... A fairy tale about an eye that, excuse me, fell into the toilet. There is something to laugh at, but also something to think about,” said Kuznetsova.

At the same time, she expressed the hope that this list “will not look like black PR,” RIA Novosti reports.

As for the fantastic story "Where is the cock's horse galloping?", it became a laureate of the All-Russian competition for the best work for children and youth "Kniguru". And its author, Svetlana Lavrova, is not only a famous children's writer. By her main profession, Lavrova is a neurophysiologist, candidate of medical sciences.

After this list became known, the author of “The Tale of the Eye,” Igor Irtenyev, also expressed his opinion about it. In a commentary on the radio station “Moscow Speaks,” he called it “pure idiocy.” The poet explained that this comic verse, written back in 1991, was not addressed specifically to children.

"Although in my book about the pirate Uncle Petya it ( this is a poem) is,” the poet said and added that “a normal child not with a square head is quite able to appreciate it and laugh.” However, judge for yourself:

"The Tale of the Eye"

I dropped it in the toilet

Somehow here the other day

Your favorite brown eye.

Right. Penultimate.

He looked with a farewell glance,

Dove's eye

Directly into my soul with reproach,

Carrying away with the flow.

And since then I've been dreaming about everything

At night in silence

How's he doing with his eyelashes?

The Commissioner for Children's Rights has compiled a list of the most indecent children's books. On Thursday, during her speech at a conference at the Russian State Children's Library, Anna Kuznetsova presented a list of 16 books, where, according to her, there are things that are embarrassing to mention.

“Kommersant FM” provides quotes from some works that are indecent, in the opinion of the Ombudsman.

Svetlana Lavrova, excerpt from the book “The Cock Horse”

And now Dasha was hovering over the computer, coming up with the beginning. She immediately decided to work with local material so that the main character would be Pera the hero, a famous character in Komi fairy tales and legends. But tell about it in a modern style. True, Pera resolutely did not want to modernize. “This will be an action movie,” Dasha realized. - Redistribution of territories and steep showdowns. Leshy is the head of the local mafia, driving drugs from fly agarics. The fight against the drug mafia is fashionable.”

Sergei Mikhalkov, excerpt from the poem “Flu”

Antoshka the cat jumped from the window

On the bed in one jump.

If you want, I will tell you, Antoshka,

Shall I fill my nose with powder?

Anna Kuznetsova expressed the hope that her list of indecent children's works “will not look like black PR.”

Books for children must be written in the correct literary language, not forgetting about moral standards, says Irina Kotunova, editor-in-chief of the publishing house “Children's Literature”: “Some ethical issues are not acceptable in these works, they are not regulated by any laws. Many boundaries are now blurred, and unsettled children’s minds can be greatly harmed by such books. Then, there is still a literary language, and now in many works they are trying to convey colloquial speech, youth slang - I’m not even talking about obscene expressions. Maybe for an adult audience - yes, but why does a child need all this? And so it rushes from everywhere. Still, literature must adhere to a certain level and lift the child up a notch.”

The poet Igor Irtenyev has already commented on the statement of the children's ombudsman about his comic poem. He emphasized that a normal child would appreciate it - it would make him laugh. Irtenyev also noted that Anna Kuznetsova’s words are “idiocy, which is a trend in all government structures.”

As for Lavrova’s prose, there are several weak points, but nothing indecent, literary critic Konstantin Milchin is sure: “A significant, if not most, of children’s literature after 2000 is an attempt to write your own new “Harry Potter.” It’s very interesting when they try to write Harry Potter on some unusual, non-standard folklore motif. Svetlana Lavrova tried to do this using the folklore of the Komi people. On the one hand, this is very cool, but the end of the book is completely disastrous, and the title, in my opinion, is also not the best. The execution of the book is not very successful, but I would like there to be more such works. It’s a shame that our officials somehow sluggishly criticized this book; it’s unclear on what basis this opinion was made.”

The provisions of the law “On the Protection of Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development” apply in Russia to literary works. All subtle points related to vocabulary and ethics are at the discretion of the publisher.

Anna Kuznetsova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, speaking at a conference at the Russian State Children's Library, criticized modern children's literature, which “even adults are afraid to show.” She especially noted Igor Irtenyev’s poem about an eye that fell into the toilet. The author of the work himself, however, was indignant at such criticism: he was never a children's writer.

A press conference with Kuznetsova’s participation took place on Thursday morning. “Unfortunately, parents sometimes come across this in books. To be honest, I can’t even voice some of them, because it’s embarrassing to say what they sometimes write in children’s books. The most decent of all is “Where the cock's horse gallops,” noted the human rights activist ( quote from RIA Novosti).

Separately, she focused on “the tale about the eye, which, excuse me, fell into the toilet.” “There is something to laugh at, but also to think about,” Kuznetsova said, adding that she hopes not to create “black PR” for the literature she mentioned. The children's ombudsman's blacklist included 16 works.

Meanwhile, the author of the poem about the eye, Igor Irtenyev, in a conversation with the radio station “Moscow Speaks”, noted that he was not going to argue with the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, but at the same time emphasized that he did not write this work as a children’s work. The writer also complained about “idiocy,” which has already become a trend in power structures.

“How to react to this? This is pure idiocy. Idiocy, which is a trend in all government structures. Now everything in our country is under the sign of idiocy. I did not write this poem as a children’s poem, but it is in my book about the pirate Uncle Petya. I I think that a normal child, not with a square head, is quite capable of appreciating him and laughing,” Irtenyev said.

Let us recall that Kuznetsova’s predecessor in the position of Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Pavel Astakhov, was noted for his fight against the encyclopedia on sex for children 8-11 years old. In the manual, the authors were not ashamed to call a spade a spade and show pictures of “what adults do.” “Children do not need encyclopedias about sex, they need smart and useful books that teach kindness and honesty,” Astakhov was indignant.

And in 2012, a loud scandal erupted after activists of the public foundation “Ural Parents Committee”, during a raid on bookstores in Yekaterinburg, found in the children’s literature section a book about sex “Girlcology”, which, as stated in its description, “is written in understandable teenagers' language". The store claimed that such works were in great demand.
