Russian journalist at Eurovision in Kyiv: I’m hiding where I’m from. They might beat you up! Continuation: A scam with votes was exposed at Eurovision What's going on at Eurovision

During the Irishman's performance, two guys are dancing on stage, portraying a love couple. This staging has already become the reason for rumors that the Russian First Channel showed this semi-final of Eurovision 2018 not live, but with an hour and a half delay: in order to retouch in case, God forbid, a kiss (which, by the way, did not happen) stage. “It’s all about the reprogramming that was previously planned for this time, and not about some kind of malicious intent,” Aksyuta tried to explain the situation.

As for the number "Forever", which Alekseev performed in Lisbon, it was beyond kitsch. Nikita sang live so-so, and the roses on the performer’s back resembled an open wound and looked more repulsive than beautiful. Therefore, having performed his ballad “Together” purely and with feeling, the Irishman made it to the finals, but Alekseev did not. As in the case of the failure of Yulia Samoilova, you need to look for the reasons within yourself.

Russia should remain in Eurovision

In Belarus, as in Russia, they also like to blame the “behind the scenes” of the competition and the European attitude towards official Minsk for the country’s failures at Eurovision. But Belarus still accepts the challenge every year and sends its participants to the competition. Therefore, I would like to believe that Russia will remain in it and will not follow the lead of those who call for slamming the door.

The competition is something that still connects Russia with Europe. Here she is a full and respected member of the European family. The attitude towards Yulia Samoilova, Sergei Lazarev, Polina Gagarina at Eurovision is confirmation of this. Refusing to participate in the competition after not reaching the final is the same as if, after the current defeat from the Czech hockey team, they were offered to refuse to participate in the World Championship. After all, both in hockey and at Eurovision, Russia has something to be proud of.

Netta Barzilai, 25, representing Israel, was the bookmakers' favorite. The video of her song “Toy” with the words “I’m not your toy, stupid boy” even before Eurovision collected millions of views on the Internet. Eccentric feminist electro-pop with elements of rap and loop showed that serious things can be talked about (or rather, sung) with irony. The audience gave Netta the maximum number of votes.

Eleni Foureira performed the song "Fuego". At one time she fled with her parents from Albania. She grew up in Greece, where she is a star. But Eleni went to Eurovision from Cyprus. The producer who created hits for Jennifer Lopez worked on the song. Both the song and the performance were highly appreciated by both the national jury and the audience. 2nd place.

    Main surprise

The success of Caesar Sampson from Austria was the main surprise of the Eurovision 2018 final. According to the results of the jury's vote, his song "Nobody but you" even took the lead, but the votes of the audience pushed him to third place. The dark-skinned, athletic native of Linz is a singer, songwriter, dancer, producer and model.

    German success

The 4th place of the German performer Michael Schulte is an undoubted success for Germany, because in previous years it took places at the bottom of the list at Eurovision. At the final of the competition in Lisbon, Schulte performed a heartfelt ballad about the death of his father, “You let me walk alone.” It is also gratifying that Schulte received high marks from various European countries.

    Success of a street musician

Mikolas Josef was predicted - and deservedly so - to have the best result for the Czech Republic at Eurovision. During the rehearsal, the singer injured his back, but the performance took place, and Micolash did his dangerous somersault at the end. By the way, he worked as a model for Prada, Replay and Diesel. But above all, Micolash is a musician. Performing on the streets of European cities helped him gain self-confidence. 6th place.

The song "Non mi avete fatto niente" by the Italian duo, which took 5th place in Lisbon, talked about terror. This is another proof that the audience and the jury of the competition evaluate not only the beauty of the show. Ermala Meta and Fabrizio Moro received the opportunity to perform for Italy in Lisbon as winners of the Sanremo Music Festival. Well deserved. .

Swede Benjamin Ingrosso has Italian roots. He has, so to speak, family ties with Eurovision: his parents met while performing together at the Swedish qualifying competition, and his uncle's wife Charlotte Perelli even won Eurovision in 1999. His composition was among the leaders during the voting for a long time. But in the end she took 7th place.

    The highest notes

The highest notes at Eurovision 2018 were sounded for Estonia. Elina Nechaeva is a professional opera singer and works at the Tallinn Opera House. The composition "La Forza" in Italian is a kind of opera aria in a pop arrangement. The text contained many quotes from opera works. A decent 8th place.

    Performance for happiness

The performance "My Lucky Day" from Moldova diluted a certain seriousness of the current Eurovision. The performance of the DoReDos trio was notable for the fact that the music for it was written by Philip Kirkorov. The video was filmed in Greece. The trio is participating in Eurovision on their third attempt. In 2017, they won the New Wave festival in Sochi, where Kirkorov drew attention to them. 10th place.

    ...And others

Perhaps the main surprise of the Eurovision 2018 semi-finals was the performance of Lithuanian singer Eva Zasimauskaite. At first, bookmakers believed that she would not reach the final at all, but after her brilliant performance in the semi-finals, Eva was among the favorites of the competition. Her song "Wenn we´re old" was romantic and touching. She fell just short of the top ten. 12th place.

    Rybak-2

Alexander Rybak, a Belarusian by origin, again competed for Norway. The song "Fairytale" brought him victory nine years ago in Moscow. In Lisbon, his composition “That’s How You Write A Song” appeared on the list of favorites, but compared to other performances it did not look too bright. It was only enough for 15th place.

    Ineffective effects

The representative of Ukraine Melovin (this is the stage name of Konstantin Bocharov) amazed the audience of the second semi-final with his “technological” show and a lens in his eye. But the sea of fire, the coffin piano and other effects left the national jury indifferent. Only thanks to the support of the audience, the song “Under the Ladder” left the “cellars” of the rating and eventually took 17th place.

Today, May 7, the opening ceremony of the international song competition Eurovision 2018 took place in Lisbon.

As specified, the ceremony, which took place at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, was attended by the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Minister of Culture, Luiz Felipe Castro Mendes.

Let us remind you that after the victory of Salvador Sobral in Kyiv last year, Portugal received the right to host the competition in its country.

43 countries will take part in the international song competition. Russia will be represented by singer Yulia Samoilova with the song I Won’t Break. The first Eurovision semi-final will be held on May 8, the second on May 10, and the final will take place on May 12.

Yulia Samoilova will compete number six in the second semi-final.

Samoilova explained why she will perform at Eurovision without a stroller

The video of the Russian contestant took seventh place on the YouTube channel of the song competition.

A participant in the Eurovision song contest from our country, Yulia Samoilova, told Super journalists about why she will be on stage without a wheelchair.

“Last year everyone said that we were pushing pity with our stroller. We decided that if we were putting pressure on ourselves, then let’s hide the stroller,” said the artist.

She noted that the directors of her program decided not to focus the audience’s attention on her so that everyone could appreciate her vocal abilities, the composition itself and the message, and not the singer’s disability.

In turn, Yulia Samoilova’s video for the song I Won’t Break took seventh place in the number of views on the official Eurovision YouTube channel. The video has been viewed more than 2.28 million times.

The first semi-final of Eurovision 2018 will take place on May 8, 2018, the second, where the Russian will perform, will take place on May 10. The final is scheduled for the 12th.

In Lisbon, at the opening ceremony of the Eurovision 2018 International Song Contest, the singer from Ukraine Melovin did not communicate with representatives of the Russian media. TSN reports this.

The news service notes that the Ukrainian performer behaved very friendly and communicated with journalists from other countries.

Melovin said that he didn’t manage to make special friends with any of the participants. At the same time, “I just exchanged a few phrases with the representative of Belarus Alekseev and the guitarist from Germany.”

Melovin will perform the song Under The Ladder.

On Monday, representatives of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported that more than 200 team members and participants of the international Eurovision contest arrived in Kyiv. Russian journalists also flew to the capital, Nezalezhnaya. In a conversation with Life, one of the media representatives shared his impressions of the organization of the competition, and also said that he fears for his safety and therefore is forced to hide where he is from. The hero of the publication wished to remain anonymous for his own safety.

I’ve had a lot of business trips, and I’ve been to Eurovision seven times, but I’ve never seen anything like this before. Our press center is an oasis, outside of which anything can happen to you. The other day, for example, I went to a grocery store, which is located literally 50 meters from the press center. Since it was nearby, I did not take off the badge that says Russia. I was accosted by a local bastard in the store. Of course, they didn’t beat me, but they made it clear that they would definitely do it the next time they met. In general, those from Russia are encrypted. People try not to talk outside the Eurovision venues, so as not to attract attention once again

The press center resembles a security facility. The building is surrounded by a double fence. We are supervised by reinforced police squads. This is, to put it mildly, frightening. In the open space, in the corners there are policemen in uniform, with a baton and handcuffs. I was in Stockholm that year. There were guards there too, but no one felt like a suspect under close surveillance. In Sweden the security staff were welcoming and friendly. Right now, even in the press center itself, it’s awkward for us to say that we are from Russia. Expect at least sidelong glances. All this is annoying

It is also surprising that there are absolutely no free drinks and light snacks for journalists here, as always at competitions in other years. Everything is paid. I've never seen anything like this before. It’s like an unspoken law: you know that after a grueling day of work, cookies and coffee are waiting for you in the press center. Life somehow gets better right away. But here there is no such thing. There are sponsor stands everywhere, but they all sell their products. Coffee prices are more expensive than in cafes. The only thing we received from the organizers was an unlimited card for using public transport

There is a big advantage in organization. These are storage lockers in the press center, where we were allowed to leave all the equipment. Who needs extra risk? For the local population of outlying areas, an expensive camera is akin to a Rolls-Royce in Chertanovo, Moscow. You take out the camera, and you can be left without it. Here and there reigns the gopota, for whom any manifestation of material wealth is like a red rag to a bull

The audience gave the victory to Russia

Millions of people around the world watched the Eurovision 2016 final. Representatives from 26 countries competed in the final. Russia was represented by Sergey Lazarev with the song “You Are The Only One”.

Lazarev had a hard time preparing for this competition - at one of his concerts he even fainted, later explaining this as heavy preparation for the European competition. “Every time I performed a routine, there was a risk that I might fall. But I did it and everything went well. The audience was fantastic,” Lazarev commented on his performance immediately after the end of the competition.

The result is Lazarev third. Based on the totality of two votes - the national jury and the audience - the Russian singer scored 491 points (130 and 361).

The juries of Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Belarus and Greece gave Russia 12 points each.

Jamala won with 534 points. It is worth noting that the voting of the Ukrainian jury and spectators turned out to be the opposite in relation to Russia: the jury did not give a single point to Lazarev, while the Ukrainians gave the highest score.

Second place was taken by Australian Demi Im, who, as it turned out, has Ukrainian roots. She was in the lead after the jury vote.

Results:

1. Ukraine 534 points

2.Australia 511 points

3. Russia 491 points

Let us remember that after the second semi-final, the head of the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTKU) Zurab Alasania said that if the next competition is held in Russia, Ukraine will not go to it. Eurovision 2017 will be held in Ukraine. Will Russia go?

Russia needs to decide for itself whether it needs Eurovision or not. Every time a Russian contestant takes a low place, the first thing that appears is the opinion that we don’t really need this Eurovision, and its level is not high, and a whole series of similar excuses.

Nevertheless, every year delegates from our country go there - and every year the finale of the show gains big ratings. This means that we are not so indifferent to the competition.

The history of Russia's performance at Eurovision can safely be called successful. Victory, several podium places, getting into the top six - these are the signs of a real heavyweight on the European stage.

Over the decades, domestic performers have raised the bar so much that audiences always expect high results from their compatriots. Failure to make the top ten was considered a failure.

What happened this year? We are no longer talking about a weak result in the finals, but about an early departure from the competition - a result that literally stunned the audience and the support group. And no matter how much one would like to look for, as usual, excuses in “dishonest judging,” Samoilova’s failure to reach the finals of the competition is explained by completely objective factors.

Firstly, with rare exceptions from Russia, already famous and established performers - simply put, stars - go to Eurovision. Our country was represented at different times by Mumiy Troll, Alsou, Dima Bilan, t.A.T.u., Dina Garipova, SEREBRO. Some people don’t like them, others don’t like them, but their star status cannot be taken away from them.

There were also unexpected projects, the most successful of which was “Buranovskie Babushki”. They created a real sensation and took second place.

But such tricks cannot be repeated often - the viewer will get bored. In the history of Eurovision, there was only one such trick that brought victory - hard rockers from Finland Lordi. But that’s why it’s a surprise effect, because it won’t work again.

Therefore, a question arises for Channel One, which decided to send a hitherto unknown singer to such an important event. In this situation, Samoilova has only technical complaints - she sang frankly poorly and below her capabilities. She can sing, and she is far from an amateur, but even if you wanted to, you couldn’t call her an outstanding singer.

Last year everything is clear. Samoilova’s candidacy seemed completely logical in modern Russian realities, and the conflict with the Eurovision host country to some extent even played into Russia’s hands. Although we were still left without competition.

From a human perspective, the decision to send Samoilov to Portugal is understandable. By all appearances, it was not her fault that she was unable to perform last year. This is a kind of compensation. If a plane flight is cancelled, passengers do not rush to buy tickets again. The airline reimburses them for everything.

But in the case of Julia in Portugal, the compensation turned out to be unequal. She was sent to a competition, they wrote a song, staged a number, but the song itself turned out to be an order of magnitude worse than the one with which she was supposed to perform in Kyiv.

The composition “I Won't Break”, in principle, does not stand up to any criticism. In form, arrangement and idea, it was stuck somewhere in the early 2000s (it’s already 2018). What the composers and creators of the number were thinking about is unknown. But they don’t go to Eurovision with such material. We must not forget that this is, first of all, a competition of songs, not performers. And in its history, outstanding vocalists have not always won, but bright, memorable numbers on original compositions have always won.

Remembering Dima Bilan’s victory, the first thing that comes to mind is the charisma of all three participants in the act: Bilan himself, the figure skater and the violinist.

This year there was no trace of anything like that. Of course, the dancers of the Todes ballet group are professionals, but they looked on stage in complete isolation from the music and emotional message.

In addition to the lackluster song, Julia herself let us down. It wasn't her day. Samoilova simply sang it poorly.

Already at rehearsals it was clear that she was having a very hard time with vocals, although the material did not require any outstanding abilities. What happened to her these days? Only the singer herself can answer this question if she wants. But she sang worse than herself. To be convinced of this, just watch the recordings from her concerts.

She knows how to hit the notes, but that didn’t happen on Thursday. And Russia was naturally left without the Eurovision final.

Julia herself steadfastly withstood the blow and calmly reacted to her failure.

“This is a very cool experience for me, unforgettable. I will keep it in my heart for a long time,” Samoilova quotes.

If we count last year, then our country has not been represented at the most popular international song contest for two times in a row. Nobody wants to allow this to happen for the third time, and we can assume with a high degree of confidence that next year one of the top performers will go to Eurovision.

If Russia needs it, of course.
