How to draw a strawberry: step-by-step instructions and detailed description. How to draw a strawberry: step-by-step instructions and detailed description Draw a strawberry with a pencil step by step for children

We'll start by drawing the outline and all the details, but for now we won't be drawing the shadows, just the lines.

Now, using separate layers for each color, paint the shape with midtones of the primary colors using the Lasso tool or the Pen tool.

It may not be noticeable, but I stick to the main contour lines on the topmost layer with a low opacity, so as not to get lost when painting the strawberries. For such small details as in this picture, it is most convenient to use the Brush tool. When you're done here, you can delete the lines layer.

Click on the picture to view the image in full size and 100% quality.

Now create groups for the primary color layers. Let's start with the main part of the strawberry. In drawing it is always better to start with highlights. Choose light colors for the highlights and start working on top of the base layer, creating CLIPPING MASKS.

In order to smooth the drawing, you need to be able to use the Smudge tool correctly. Once you're done with the highlights and smoothed everything out with the Smudge Tool, you can start painting shadows that will add dimension to the painting.

Now, in order to complete your digital drawing, it is best to divide it into sections. Once you've finished drawing one section, you can move on to the next. This is a kind of patience training.

Now most of the strawberry is drawn, with the exception of the upper left section. When I draw volumetric pieces like this, I prefer to paint from the edges to the center.

Now that the main part of the strawberry is drawn, it's time to draw the shadow that the strawberry casts. This will make the drawing more realistic and convincing, but the green leaves still do not look as we would like.

Now draw the green part of the strawberry in the same way as you drew the red part. Add definition, texture and dimension using colors, regular smoothing brushes and the Smudge tool.

You might think that the previous step was the last one. But that's not true. When you think your drawing is ready, leave it for 3-4 hours, then come back to it and pay attention to the details. You'll likely find a lot of little bugs that need to be fixed. Haste and art are two things that don't go together. Take your time and enjoy your work.

Everyone remembers that sweet taste of strawberries that can amaze anyone, but despite this, strawberries also look very beautiful and some people express the desire to draw them.

In this article we will cover the question of how to draw a strawberry.

Drawing Instructions

The classic and familiar strawberry drawing is quite simple, but it has some features and subtleties that can add aesthetic beauty and interest to the drawing.

In order to understand how to draw a strawberry with a pencil, you should stock up on paper, an eraser, colored and simple pencils. In order to create such a drawing, you need to draw the boundaries of the image itself on a sheet of paper. This could be an idea for several strawberries or one, in the form of a still life.

We draw an oval, which can have different locations depending on your imagination. As we all know, strawberries have a more soft triangular shape, and from the smaller roundness of the oval we expand this figure. The end result should be the same shape as in the photo.

Next, use an eraser to erase unnecessary lines and completely form the image. After that, we start drawing the tail. It is this element that gives a certain aesthetics, and bright colors such as red and green go very well together. The tail does not need to be made very large due to the fact that our strawberry may simply look more like a tomato. Also, do not forget about the stalk, which may also have a small leaf. If your drawing skill is not high, then it is better to refuse such a sheet, since it is quite difficult to draw it correctly.

After the tail and stalk are drawn, you can start drawing the seeds. Do you remember the little crunch we get when we eat strawberries? How do these seeds give it a beautiful shape? Such details are very important in a drawing, since in order to answer the question of how to draw a strawberry, you need to take into account all such elements.

The seeds can be drawn in the form of small drops, but the corners of their tips should be located from the tail.

There is also no need to overdo it with them, since the process of completely coloring the picture awaits us.

After completely drawing all the details, you can begin to completely color the tail and the berry itself. The seeds can be painted a light yellowish color, and this moment will give a more beautiful and sophisticated look to the berry.

Above are instructions for drawing strawberries, but it is also worth noting that different techniques can be applied to such a drawing. If you have good drawing skills, then the question of how to draw a strawberry will not become problematic. It can also be drawn with a simple pencil, but at the same time use marks of different strengths and degrees of color saturation. This way the strawberry will look like a graphic drawing, and the step-by-step instructions and drawing will be the same as when creating a color version.

Features of the drawing

There are a lot of small details in this drawing, and they need to be given more attention so that they are drawn with high quality and match the natural look.

Don't forget about drawing techniques, as well as materials. Dull pencils will not give a natural effect.

Conclusion

As you can understand, a drawing of a strawberry can be very simple, but once you add a few small details, it will sparkle with new colors and look very believable. Again, it all depends on what kind of imagination you have, but don’t forget about your drawing skills.

We hope that in this article you remembered such a wonderful berry and found the answer to the question of how to draw a strawberry.

Strawberries are a summer berry that is a favorite treat for many people. Ice cream, juices, yoghurts and other products are made with its taste. Today we will talk about how to draw a strawberry. It is depicted very simply and very soon you will be able to see for yourself.

One berry

In the first example we will look at a drawing method that shows us how to draw a strawberry with a pencil. Therefore, prepare an eraser, regular and colored pencils and a blank sheet of paper.

This is a very simple example that is suitable for both children and novice artists, because we will depict our drawing in just four simple steps.

The first step is to draw a leaf that connects the bush with the berry. Usually it is not eaten, it is torn off and thrown away.

Now we draw the contours of the berry itself. It has a shape similar to a rounded triangle or heart. If you end up with an uneven shape, that's okay. Walking around the garden, you will find that strawberries grow completely asymmetrically, so in the picture, its right and left sides may be slightly different.

Cover with grains and short pencil strokes. As is the case with the shape of the berry, the grains can differ greatly from each other, have different sizes and directions. If you draw them perfectly straight along the ruler, they will look unnatural. Therefore, you need to draw by hand.

The final step will be coloring. We take a red and green pencil, color the leaf green, and the berry itself red.

Another example of one berry

If the previous drawing method was aimed at artists who draw with a pencil, then this time we will look at how to draw a strawberry step by step using absolutely any tools. You can choose markers, pen, crayons, watercolor paints and more.

We depict an oval and a trapezoid under it. If you draw with felt-tip pens, we recommend that you immediately go to the third picture, since we will have to erase this trapezoid in the future, because it is only an auxiliary element.

Using regular lines, we outline the direction of growth of our leaf. In the future, of course, we will detail them.

Based on the trapezoid that we drew in the first stage, we draw the contours of the strawberry. In other words, we round the edges making them look like a real berry.

We draw the greenery; it should not be too thick and have a rather chaotic shape.

We draw the grains, they look like an elongated oval.

We have come to the most difficult stage in this drawing, coloring. This time we decided to make our strawberry more realistic and put shadows on it. In the next two pictures you can see the boundaries of the shadows.

Color along the borders. Please note that in some places our berries are darker and in others they are lighter.

Strawberry still life

If the last two examples were about drawing one berry, then this time we will demonstrate not just how to draw a strawberry step by step, we will demonstrate a whole strawberry still life with two berries and one in cross-section.

In total we will draw three berries; in the first step we will draw the contours of the first one.

Let's draw the leaves. Everything is simple here and no additional explanation is required, just look at the picture below.

Let's draw the contours of the second strawberry. It will be cut in half, which is why we need to draw such an unusual shape.

Draw the inside of the cut berry.

Let's draw another strawberry in the background. It will not be completely visible, because the two front ones will cover it.

We depict grains. Everything is simple here, short lines standing in the same row, but having different chaotic directions.

Well, the last step will be coloring the resulting drawing.

For children

And this drawing method will help you draw strawberries for children. This example is very simple, it demonstrates drawing a strawberry bush with a leaf, two strawberries and a flower.

First, let's draw the base of our bush. The strawberry will hang on the right side, so the two right lines need to be slightly bent towards the ground, as they should sag under the weight of the berry.

At the end of the longest line, draw a flower.

It's time to draw strawberries. It will have a simple round shape.

Let's draw another strawberry and a strawberry leaf.

The final stage will be coloring. We decided to choose the style of incomplete painting, but if you want, you can paint over your bush completely!

Before you eat a strawberry, draw it! And then you can get double the pleasure. We are publishing a step-by-step master class from the book “Portraits of Fruits and Vegetables” by Billy Showell. This practical guide to watercolor painting will allow both beginners and experienced artists to plunge into the genre of modern botanical illustration and learn to see the beauty in even the most ordinary berry.

Watercolor primer (lifting preparation) is a special product for applying to paper before starting work. After drying, it allows you to completely wash off the paint if necessary. This is especially important when working with intense or persistent pigments: you don’t have to worry about “staining” the paper in the area of highlights.

1. Apply the liquid to the drawing in a thick layer and let dry.

2. Prepare colors for strawberries: mix cadmium lemon, quinacridone red and add a little Winsor blue (green tint) for the light green areas at the top of the strawberry; quinacridone red and cadmium lemon for the middle; cadmium red dark and pink persistent for the bottom. Make liquid washes of the mixtures and apply them quickly, starting from the top.

Moisten with water and apply paint. Let them dry.

3. Use a damp brush and paper towel to create highlights. Mark the edges of the strawberry.

Wait for the paint to dry. Peel off the paint to identify the location of each seed. First, gently touch the paper with the end of a damp brush. Blot the paint with a clean napkin or cloth. The paint must be removed cleanly and carefully.

4. Deepen the color with drier paint mixtures. Blur the highlights between the seeds. As before, apply water with the tip of the brush (make sure the brush is not wet). Color the seeds with a mixture of light cadmium yellow and dark cadmium red. Quickly drip the dark green, distributing it over all the leaves. Let dry.

5. Continue applying red, varying the depth of tone and pattern depending on what you see. On small areas, use a dry brush to avoid smearing the paint. Use a dry brush to highlight the veins on the leaves to show texture.

Ripe and juicy strawberries can now fit on your album sheet. Colorful and bright colored pencils will help her with this. Without them, it would have been tasteless and unripe, even if it had a good shape and beautiful leaves.

Strawberries with a simple geometric shape, where you should then fit the berry into it. We draw leaves at the top, and on the berry itself – dimples in the form of lines. All this will give a real look of ripe berries. Only the step-by-step drawing of strawberries lacks contour and color. Indeed, thanks to these two aspects, it will come to life and turn into a beautiful picture.

Necessary materials:

  • colored pencils in pink, red and green tones;
  • a simple pencil;
  • eraser;
  • paper.

Drawing steps:

1. To create a beautiful strawberry in the form of a pattern, you need a circle of the diameter you need. Based on it, you can judge the size of the future red berry.

2. Now we fit the strawberries into the circle. Draw the shape using lines.

3. Draw leaves at the top of the berries. There will be four of them in total. Let's add another branch on which the strawberries will hold.

4. Remove the circle from our drawing.

5. Draw small arcs over the entire surface of the berry, which will give the effect of a real strawberry texture.

6. To make the strawberries more rich and beautiful, we will make an outline of all the lines. We use a black marker for this purpose.

7. Now let's start adding color to our picture. First we take a light green pencil and with a branch in some parts.

8. To create darker areas on the leaves, take a dark green pencil. This makes the top part of the strawberry look more natural and voluminous.

9. Let’s move on to the berry and select a red pencil for it. After decorating, the berry immediately takes on a ripe appearance.

10. Finally, some areas can be painted over with a pink pencil.

There you go. Surely it is impossible to resist the beauty of the resulting drawing. Draw a couple more of these berries on your album paper and treat them to your loved ones, relatives or friends.
