This fall, Daria Stavrovich entered the second stage of the “Voice” show. Fans of heavy music know her as Nuki, or the frontwoman of the alternative rock band Slot. At the blind audition, she wowed the jury with her “disgusting” rendition of the 90s hit Zombie. But Nuki chose the most “driven” of them - Grigory Leps.

— Daria, why do you need to participate in such a pop project as “The Voice”?

— In short: education and just having fun. And those who are somehow familiar with our modern rock scene, let them look at everything that is happening with new eyes.

— Doesn’t it bother you that the show is mostly pop-oriented?

- They are different, completely different. The format of the show, in my opinion, is still created by the participants themselves. I choose what I sing, how I sing, how I look.

— Why did you choose Zombie for the blind audition?

— Because all the other compositions that suited me were too brutal and unknown. But this is still some kind of hit. The intelligent environment won and said: “Yes, Dash, we need to sing the song that people more or less know. At least for the blind.

— Would you have gone to another mentor if Leps hadn’t turned around?

- I think not. I don't know what I would do there. Firstly, I know that Leps gives a certain freedom. It seems to me that his entire team, give or take, is left to its own devices. This is good for me. Agutin, by the way, is actually doing something with his own people. As a musician, I respect him very much, but he, of course, does not have the same emotional palette that I have. It’s just that it seems to me that he wouldn’t understand a lot and wouldn’t allow it at some stages. But Leps doesn’t care! (hits the table with his hand and smiles).

— And before that, did you somehow have to communicate with Leps?

- Yes, he is an anarchist (laughs).

— Who do you like best from Grigory Leps’ team?

— What attracts me is that they are all different there. Kirill Babiev, who sang Linkin park, also went to Leps. I understand him. And who else? The man (Grigory Leps) clearly has natural drive.

“He once said: “I don’t understand why I haven’t heard this before.” I think he is attracted to this kind of driving style of singing. Someone says: “Yes, they know everything, it’s all (blind auditions) a setup.” No, they really don't know "Slot". It’s just that we seem to live in the same country, but in completely parallel universes.

— Fans on the street often recognize you, do they approach you?

- Well, yes, quite often. Especially after this broadcast on “The Voice”. I had such a period of time, several hours, when it seemed to me that I woke up famous. They just come up and ask like, “Is there life on Mars?” or they simply wish you good luck: “Tear everyone up.”

“As far as I read the contract, it’s better not to win, because you end up in “slavery.” But I don’t want to go into slavery. You turn into some kind of corporate cover artist, and they squeeze the juice out of you. Cash (the second lead singer of the Slot group) and I also agreed: if I go to “The Voice,” then he goes to a rap battle (laughs).

Daria Stavrovich, known to fans under the pseudonym “Nuki,” is a popular rock singer. In addition to performing, the girl writes lyrics and music herself. From 2006 to 2012 she was a member of the Slot group. Then she took up solo work, the project was called “Nuki”. In 2016, she became a semi-finalist in the fifth season of the project.

Daria Stavrovich was born on February 1, 1986 in a town in the Arkhangelsk region called Velsk into an intelligent family of a doctor and teacher. For a long time she lived in Arzamas, where she graduated from school.

The girl started singing as soon as she learned to pronounce words. This is not surprising, because Daria’s mother has an operatic voice, and for some time she even went on stage. The young singer also learned to extract meaningful sounds from the piano early. By the age of 11, Stavrovich already clearly understood that she would not do anything other than music and vocals. Therefore, Daria entered the Nizhny Novgorod Music College.

This was the period of Stavrovich’s formation as a vocalist. She tried her hand at several little-known musical groups in Nizhny Novgorod and gained the necessary experience of working in a group.

This original singer has an excellent musical education. After graduating from college, Daria Stavrovich entered the Moscow Institute of Contemporary Arts in 2006, where she chose the faculty of academic and pop-jazz singing. In the same year, the singer was invited to the capital's nu-metal group "Slot". The powerful and beautiful voice of the new vocalist immediately appealed to the band members and fans of the band. As part of Slot, Daria Stavrovich recorded 6 albums.

The girl is also a master of two instruments – piano and guitar.

In 2012, she began her solo career. The new project was called “Nuki”. Daria took the same creative pseudonym. Two colleagues from the former group “Slot” - “ID” and “Dudu” - volunteered to work with Stavrovich.

In April 2013, Nuki’s debut album, entitled “Alive,” was released. Videos appeared for the compositions “Alive”, “Teach” and “Fear”, which were included in the album.

In 2014, Daria Stavrovich was awarded the Golden Note prize as the best rock vocalist. In the same year, the artist took part in the filming of the film “School Shooter” and the video for the song “Reality”.

However, Daria Stavrovich chose, who remained quite unperturbed after the performance. She came to the project with a ready-made decision about who she would choose as a mentor. While still on stage, the singer shared that a friend advised her to go to Grigory Viktorovich.

As a result, the project participant reached the semi-finals of the TV show. She performed the song "Chandelier". But both the jury and the audience chose. Later in the interview, the artist admitted that she should not have won. The winner has a serious tour of 40 cities in Russia, and Daria is busy with the group and cannot leave the team for a long time.

Shortly before the semi-finals, at the “Knockouts” stage, Stavrovich performed the composition “Circles on the Water,” which she wrote together with Sergei Bogolyubsky. Personal life

The creative pseudonym Nuki has a double meaning. In slang, it means sex without commitment. But the singer claims that everything is much simpler: this is how the name Dasha sounds when translated into Japanese.

At the moment, Daria Stavrovich’s personal life is a closed page. As far as we know, the 30-year-old singer is not married. But, according to rumors, she has a soulmate. The name Nuki is associated with the name of the musician Cash. This is the creative pseudonym of the vocalist of the Slot group Igor Lobanov. But there is no confirmation of the existing romance.

On April 18, 2014, an attempt was made on Daria Stavrovich’s life. 19-year-old Dmitry Kostryukov inflicted several knife wounds on the singer in the larynx. The girl was urgently hospitalized in intensive care. She underwent surgery. After 10 days, the artist was discharged.

During interrogation, Dmitry admitted that he was preparing for the assassination attempt. He studied the routes and performances of musicians. Eyewitnesses to the crime said that after the attack Kostryukov exclaimed: “She’s not dead yet? It shouldn’t go to anyone!”. In 2018, the Northern Fleet group released a new album, “Inoy”. The composition “INOY”, which became the title of the collection, was performed together with Daria “Nuki” Stavrovich.

A real sensation was caused by the unexpected appearance of the vocalist of the group “SLOT” Daria Stavrovich among the participants of the “Voice” show.

The girl, better known to fans of youth heavy music under the pseudonym Nuki, performed the energetic song “Zombie” by The Cranberries at the blind auditions.
