How can you draw a doll's face? How to draw a face for a textile doll

Professional craftsmen, it seems that such a face is very difficult and unrealistic to make yourself. However, the step-by-step master class below describes the process from start to finish and shows that even if you can’t do it the first time, anyone can create a doll face!

Are used:

  • synthetic brushes of different sizes, ranging from the smallest for drawing small details;
  • two types of pastels - dry and oil;
  • acrylic paint.

First of all, sketches of the doll’s face are made on paper, where the sizes of the nose, mouth, eyes, facial expression of the toy, etc. are pretended.

The resulting contours need to be outlined with pastels (the most convenient is in the form of pencils). The shades are flesh, in this case pink-brown. The applied pastel is shaded with a brush. This is how the first shadows appear on the face.

Next, the contours of the eye, nose, and mouth are lightly outlined with a brown pastel pencil, and the chin, corners of the mouth, etc. are again drawn in with a lighter (brick-colored) pencil. The lines are constantly shaded so that there are no sharp color transitions.

In this tutorial, the toy has blue eyes, so the next step is to outline the overall color of the eye by circling the iris with the desired color.

The middle is painted with a lighter blue shade, the paint is slightly shaded to create a soft transition between tones.

The center of the iris is made lighter by adding white acrylic.

A small amount of black is added to the blue color. This shade outlines the pupil and shadow under the eyelashes. Using a brush with almost no water, a shadow is drawn in the corners of the eyes. The streaks on the iris are outlined in a very light blue color.

For the pupil, use black; you don’t need to draw a perfectly round or oval shape for it; a slight “jitter” of the outline looks more natural. Thin black stripes from the pupil are drawn on the iris. Highlights are applied with white paint.

Lips can be drawn with dry peach pastels. For blush on the cheeks, use a large brush. It is permissible to use not only pastel pencils for them, but also real cosmetic blush.

Using one of the smallest brushes with brown acrylic, you need to re-outline the contours. She also needs to paint eyelashes and eyebrows. To fix the paint, the eyes can be covered with a special acrylic varnish, but in the absence of it, ordinary transparent nail polish will do.

Master class from Ellada Magaramova. I am often asked how I paint dolls' eyes. For a long time I was too lazy to film this process, but then I just got sick, I can’t sew, so I have time to post my work.

So, we will need a doll, acrylic paints (for fabric or for arts and crafts), as well as oil-based pastel crayons, tinting brushes with bristles No. 2, No. 4, No. 7

I have these:

So, let's get started! We take the doll, before tinting I make tightening and tint with a standard solution - coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, PVA.

I start with the eyes, apply white paint along the contour and slightly tint the corners with light gray and blue (depending on the type of doll).

I draw the iris.

I apply a highlight with a lighter tone, and white inside the highlight. I blend it onto the wet side and dry it with a hairdryer.

I draw a black pupil and a white highlight from the light, on the opposite side from the lightest one in the pupil. Note!!! If we strive for authenticity of the peephole, then the pupil is located EXACTLY in the center!!! It makes up one third of the iris!

If the pupil turns out to be “clumsy”, you can then draw on it with a marker or a black gel pen. I finish drawing the lips, apply the eyebrows with a semi-dry brush, outline the contour of the eye and outline (SLIGHTLY!!!) the eyelid. The result is such a big smile!

Now let's start tinting. I tint from light to dark tones. With a wide brush No. 7, I “draw” over a red pastel pencil, apply blush in the cheek area. With the same brush, I move over a light brown or terracotta-colored pencil and apply shadows in the area of the nose, bridge of the nose, upper eyelid, cheeks, outer corner of the eye, under lip and also on the forehead. The photo clearly shows the tinted areas.

Let's start highlighting the eyes. With the same pencil (terracotta) and brush No. 4 (the brush is trimmed to half) I apply shadows in the outer corner of the eye, eyebrows, along the lower and upper eyelids, as well as the nostrils, frenulum of the upper lip and the corners of the lips.

On top of this tinting I apply dark brown shadows. The corners of the eyes, if I want to “drown” the eyes, then the entire eyelid, under the lip, eyebrows and upper eyelid. To do this, I take a brush with bristles No. 2, cut halfway.

In principle, the painting is finished and everything is ready, but I like the final touch with black, I apply it along the upper and lower eyelids, slightly going over the white of the eye. These are the “smoky” eyes that you get, or, as makeup artists like to say, smoky eyes.

We are learning to draw a doll step by step, drawing a doll is not difficult, and even if you have never drawn, then after looking at the instructions with descriptions and pictures, you will definitely learn how to draw a doll. There are two ways to draw a doll: easy and more difficult.

How to draw a simple doll step by step

1. Draw a circle at the top of the sheet - this will be the doll’s head.
2. Next we draw the body, it should be smaller in width than the head. The parts are in contact.
3. Erase the upper part of the oval so that the neck does not cover the head.
4. The lower limbs are depicted without fingers in the form of elongated ovals.
5. Draw your hands under your head. There are no clearly defined shoulders in the toys. First we draw the left one.
6. Now we draw the right one. Hands should be on the same line. Then slightly lengthen your left arm.
7. Do the same with the right hand to make the upper limbs more graceful.
8. To begin, mark the beginning and end of the skirt with two lines to make it easier to connect them.

9. Connect the skirt parts with slightly curved lines so that the garment resembles an a-line.
10. We make the figure of the toy thinner and more refined, slightly adjusting the oval.
11. Draw the collar in the form of a semicircle. It doesn't have to be big. With its help we separate clothes from the body.
12. Shoes are depicted in the form of slippers, which are slightly larger than the feet themselves.
13. In the circle that represents the head, we form the face and immediately separate the hair.
14. Erase the extra lines. The dolls' faces are made to resemble human faces, so they are not perfectly round.
15. Draw bangs by adding a few lines on the hair.
16. Draw the tails of approximately the same length. In the picture they are at the back, but you can depict them on the left and right.

17. On clothes, in addition to a flower, you can draw anything: ice cream, a smiley face, a heart. Or choose another flower.
18. To ensure that the eyes are at the same level, you can very lightly draw a horizontal line and depict them on it.
19. Don't forget to add details: long eyelashes and pupils.
20. The last detail is a smile and dots in the shape of a nose.
21. And the last thing left is to color the toy as you want.

How to draw a beautiful doll step by step

1. We draw the doll’s silhouette using simple lines and geometric shapes; this is done to make it easier to draw everything else later.
2. Draw the hair on the doll’s head.
3. Draw the details of the doll’s face. First, draw the big eyes, then the eyebrows, nose and mouth.

4. Draw the top part of the doll’s dress.
5. Draw both hands of the doll.
6. Draw the lower part of the dress.

7. Now we draw the legs and shoes on them.
8. Let's add pomp to the doll's hairstyle.
9. Color the doll’s drawing with colored pencils.

Dear friends! We continue to publish master classes on creating . And today we will introduce you to another doll fairy. Her name is Elena Negorozhenko, and she lives in the city of Irkutsk. For several years now, Elena has been passionate about creating amazing ones that you can’t look at and not feel admiration for. And, as a master with a capital letter, Elena is happy to share the secrets of her craft with everyone.

I’ll say right away that the master class is intended for training. Please be grateful to the author and respect his work. It is prohibited to make copies of designer dolls for sale. Try to create your own masterpiece using some of the master’s “tricks”, and you will see for yourself how much more pleasant it is to sell your own work.

So, today's master class is devoted to painting the face of a textile doll.

To work you will need:

Preparation of the doll's face;

Disappearing marker for marking;

Threads (transparent monofilament was used here), a needle for tightening;

Artistic oil paints (brown and shades, white, red) (these paints must be prepared in advance: squeeze a little onto a napkin an hour before work, in this case excess oil will be absorbed);

Acrylic universal paints;

Artificial kolinsky brushes No. 00, 1 and 2.

How to draw a doll's face master class:

1. We already have a head blank. To begin with, let's outline with a disappearing marker what we will have where. We outline the features of the doll's face.

2. After marking, you need to do. This is a master class on painting, so to have an idea about tightening, follow the link and read the detailed master class. The photo shows that the eyelids, nostrils and lips were stitched.

Here's what happened:

The wig is for the photo so that the head is not bald.))
3. Now we take a brown shade of paint (I have “red ocher”) and shade the eyelids in the corners of the eyes and a little on the eyebrows. Little by little so as not to spoil it.

4. Next, using red and white paint, shading, outline the lips. In the corners of the mouth and nostrils there is a brown shadow.

5. Apply a little white paint to the eyelids, tip of the nose, lips and chin. Apply blush lightly. The brush should have just a little bit of paint in it. After dipping the brush into the paint, I rub it over a piece of paper until almost nothing remains on it.

I advise beginners not to use black in their work, even when drawing eyelashes. There is a risk of ruining everything or making the doll “worthlessly cheap.”

6. It's time to paint with acrylic paints. First, paint the whites of the eyes with white. We add a little volume to the sponges. Then we draw the lips with dark shades. We also draw eyebrows with a thin brush.

7. Shade the whites of the eyes with a gray-blue color, slightly. We draw the nostrils and eyelids more clearly.

8. Let's do the iris. The exhibit doll will have blue eyes. We take blue, white, green and black paints, mix by eye and draw the iris with rounding movements.

9. Now we turn on all our artistic abilities and draw different shades on the iris.

10. Don't make your eyes too bright, this will make them look more natural. We also draw the pupils not in black, but in just a dark color. We draw highlights equally on both eyes.
