National Xi'an University of Foreign Languages is located in Xi'an (Shaanxi Province) and is the only educational institution located in the northern region of China. XISU is considered one of the universities with world-class foreign language departments and G8 university membership. G8 refers to a group of eight foreign language and international studies universities in China that have academic specialization in foreign language teaching and international studies.

The institution of SUFL was created in 1952 as the Institute of Foreign Languages, which included the College of the Russian Language. In 1979 he began graduate programs in linguistics and literature. In 1995, he merged the Shaanxi Foreign Language School, which is its current campus in Yanta, and in 2005, it was renamed Xi'an International Studies University.

XISU Public University occupies a high ranking position in the country and is among the top 400 educational institutions in China. In the international rankings it is included in the 1000 best linguistic universities.

Admission to the SUFL university is carried out on the general basis provided for by the legislation of the People's Republic of China. The applicant is required to provide the admissions committee with a Certificate for 11 classes and an HSK certificate of at least level 4. The university actively promotes HSK, so you can complete the language program and take the exam directly at the institution itself.

Tuition fees at XISU per year:

Language course from 10,000 to 15,000 yuan;
Bachelor's degree from 13,000 to 17,000 yuan;
Master's degree from 15,000 to 21,000 yuan;
mandatory registration fee – 660 yuan one time;
insurance – 800 yuan.

It should be remembered that upon arriving in the city of Xi'an, you must register at the university and purchase Chinese health insurance.

Grants

Since 2006, SUYA has opened a legislative grant for foreign students, which gives the right to take advantage of preferential tuition. Currently, more than 300 foreign students are studying with a 100% and 50% discount. A student who misses up to 3% of the total number of classes for the year is deprived of the grant, and up to 10% of the total number of classes for the semester is expelled from the university.

Xi'an Foreign Language University was founded in 1952, it is the very first university among the 4 foreign language universities in China. Currently, it is the only foreign language higher education institution in the northwestern region of China.

SUIA has 2 districts, the area is 160 hectares. (construction area is 679,000 sq. meters). The university is equipped with the most advanced technology for teaching. Various classrooms, language laboratory, computer rooms, simultaneous translation rooms, etc. With an expanded satellite reception system, the university can access television channels from many countries. The extensive library is equipped with the most modern technology, a computer system and a large archive of literature and electronic journals.

The university has 27 institutes and faculties, 39 specialties with the issuance of a bachelor's degree, 7 elective disciplines in the fields of literature, economics, management, law, education, science, etc. SUFL cooperates with 4 foreign universities and trains master's students, specialty students, and foreign students. Since 1979, the university began accepting foreign students. The Institute of Chinese Language SUFL teaches and trains foreign students in the Chinese language and also provides professional training in Chinese language and literature (bachelor's degree).

The Chinese Language Institute of SUYA University is the oldest and historical specialized educational institution for the study of the Chinese language and the training of foreign students in the northwestern region of China.

In 2006, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China opened a state grant for foreign students of SUFL. In 2007, with the agreement of the State Chinese Language Committee, we began cooperation with the Eurasian University of the Republic of Kazakhstan and established the Confucius Institute, which is the first overseas Confucius Institute of Shaanxi Province abroad. Currently, more than 300 foreign students are studying Chinese language and Chinese culture in the first cohort at the Confucius Institute.

After studying 2-year Chinese language courses at the SUFL Institute, students can study together with Chinese students.

There are 4 canteens on the old university grounds that serve a variety of Chinese dishes. There is also a Muslim canteen; you can pay for meals by card.

The university provides foreign students with a hotel, which is located on the territory of the old university. The room has a toilet, shower, bed, table, chair, TV, air conditioning and also has a washing machine (on the 1st floor). For stays longer than 2 months, a discounted price is provided.

Students have the right to rent an apartment on their own, after which they must provide registration at their place of residence to the local police and university management.

Graduation requirements:

A. Attendance in all subjects, tests and exams during the years of study (passing exams is not lower than 60 points). Provide HSK Level 6 certificate. Upon completion of passing state exams, the university issues a university diploma.

B. Prepare and defend a thesis; upon graduation from the university, a bachelor's degree diploma is issued.

C. Student absences should not exceed 20% of the total number of class hours.

D. The student is allowed to retake the exams in the subject once. The time for retaking exams is set by the university administration.

Number of hours of classes:

A foreign student is required to purchase health insurance in China; if they do not purchase insurance, the university will not issue a visa.

A student who misses more than 10% of the total number of classes during the semester is expelled from the university.

Language course: The main subject is Chinese. Foreign students can take the HSK (Chinese language level exam, similar to the IELTS and TOEFL tests, is a necessary document for entering a profession in Chinese universities). The university provides a Chinese language certificate. Duration of study: six months, a year or 2 years.

INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

The Institute of International Education is a unit directly subordinate to Xi'an Petroleum University.
