The Disco Accident group is one of the rare Russian groups that has been at the top of the charts for more than 20 years. The Disco Accident group has received many prizes and awards, as in previous lineups.

Despite some difficult moments in the history of the Disco Accident group associated with the departure of members, the group was able to retain the love of its fans and make its work even more professional.

The history of the group Disco Twisty Accident

The Disco Accident group was created back in the late 80s in Ivanovo. Alexey Ryzhov and Nikolay Timofeev, two friends with a great sense of humor, decided to join forces and create a creative duet together. At first these were performances at KVN. The public liked the young people for their sense of humor and originality of ideas, and they began to be invited as presenters at weddings, anniversaries and corporate events.

The guys started with rock music. But they had to run discos, since there was not enough money for expensive instruments and equipment. Gradually the direction of music became closer to dance. The group was called “Accident”, as the group rehearsed and performed in the club of the same name.

In Ivanovo, the group gained popularity, and the guys were invited as presenters to a local radio station. The program they hosted was called “Disco Crash” and was a review of new products in music.

In 1992, Oleg Zhukov, who was an actor in the puppet theater, joined the Disco Accident group. The team was actively involved in creating remixes. The first successful composition was a remix of Alla Pugacheva’s song “Kings Can Do Anything.”

The three of them did not work for long; a couple of years later Alexey Serov joined them. And the group Disco Accident, whose composition was already a fully formed group, which had enough songs to record an album, received an additional creative impetus in his person.

The first album was called “Dance with me”, it was very popular in the Ivanovo region and quickly sold out among fans. Popularity began to grow, and several more albums were recorded one after another. And the team was accepted by the spoiled Moscow public.

In 2001, the group “Disco Accident”, consisting of Oleg Zhukov, Alexey Ryzhov, Nikolai Timofeev and Alexey Serov, released the album “Maniacs”. This record received many awards and prizes, became the best-selling album in 2001 and was recognized as “Album of the Year”.

The albums of the group Disco Accident are released one after another, the team receives all kinds of awards. Only in 2012 did Nikolai Timofeev leave the Disco Accident group. The separation was due to discord in the team; many disagreements and misunderstandings accumulated.

Nikolai begins to pursue a solo career. This discord provoked several lawsuits regarding copyright infringement of song compositions. All rights to the songs belonged to Alexey Ryzhov, but Nikolai Timofeev forbade the group Disco Accident to use his voice in the phonograms.

A girl appeared in the team - Anna Khokhlova and she is in the group Disco Accident this year too. Participant in the Ukrainian version of the song show “X-Factor”. In 2013, the group recorded a composition to represent the Zapashny brothers, and in 2014, after a long silence, the album “Girl Behind the Wheel” was released.

Alexey Ryzhov

He has been interested in music since childhood, and many predicted a successful career as a musician, but his second hobby, football, became an obstacle to entering a music university. However, now Disco Crash the group’s lineup cannot imagine without him.

Alexey Serov

Received a legal education. In early childhood he took part in the group “A+B”, and this is where his career as a musician began.

After graduating from university, Alexey and his friends organized a law firm, which still exists in Ivanovo and is the largest in the city.

Like Alexey Ryzhov, he is interested in football; he met the guys from the Discotheque; the accident happened on the football field. This is how he ended up in the group “Disco Accident” and to this day is a member of the collective.

Anna Khokhlova

Anna was born in the Chelyabinsk region. In St. Petersburg, she graduated from the University of Culture and Arts, and for some time took part in the GOODINY project as a soloist. In 2012, the girl performed a song for the animated series “Barboskiny”.

After her participation in the show “X-Factor” on Ukrainian television, Sergei Prahomenko recommended the girl to replace Nikolai Timofeev, who left “Disco Accident”. As a result, the group Disco Accident supplemented the group with this creative personality and the team received “new blood”. And until this year, as we hope in the future, all songs and videos could not be done without her participation.

Ex-members of the group Disco Accident

Nikolay Timofeev

Of all the members of the “Disco Accident” team, Nikolai is the most recognizable. He studied with Alexei Ryzhov at the Energy Institute, where he held discos to earn money for equipment for the group.

In 2012, Nikolai left the group Disco Accident. This departure was scandalous due to the many lawsuits that he waged with Ryzhov. During his solo career, Nikolai has already released several songs and video clips. He acted as the director of his videos under the pseudonym “Stagoranovich”.

Oleg Zhukov

Oleg was born in Ivanovo and before working in the Disco Accident group, which he joined in 1992, he was an actor in a puppet theater. In the team he had the role of frontman. Oleg voiced the vast majority of commercials and compositions of the group.

All rap parts were performed by Zhukov. The heavy weight did not prevent Zhukov from dancing beautifully. At all the concerts of the group Disco Accident, Oleg appeared after the performance of the third composition, the fans greeted him with thunderous applause, since he was everyone’s favorite.

In February 2002, Oleg Zhukov died. The Disco Accident group stated that they would not take anyone in his place, since he was not only part of the team, but also a close friend to everyone.

Group "Disco Accident", perhaps, one of the few Russian pop groups of the early 2000s that still remains afloat. This team gave the world several eternal hits, because until now the New Year is not complete without the famous “New Year’s”, and “Aram-zam-zam” is periodically heard in discos and on the radio. Unfortunately, now the composition of the group has changed a lot and “Disco Crash” does not shine so brightly. But let's remember the star soloists of the group and find out what they look like and what they are doing now.

History of creation and composition

It is unknown whether Russian dance music would have been replenished with hits from “Disco Accident” if the founders of the group were more wealthy. At the end of the 80s, perestroika gave a second wind to rock bands, the songs “Kino” and “DDT” were no longer played in apartment buildings, but in clubs and festivals, and students of the Ivanovo Energy Institute Nikolai Timofeev and Alexey Ryzhov were not at all averse to following in the footsteps "Nautilus" or "Alice".

However, the beginning musicians, whom they know from the university KVN, do not have enough money for instruments and equipment, and the creative tandem decides to start by holding discos. Since 1988, the duo has been holding parties both within the walls of the institute and at the Ivanovo club “Avaria”. The story of how the group got its name has long become a legend. According to her, at the time of the concert the wiring shorted and the lights went out. Panic almost set in, but Timofeev managed to defuse the situation with a joke:

“Calm down, everything is fine! After all, we are “Disco “Accident”!”

In the early nineties, Timofeev and Ryzhov were invited to review new songs, first on the Ivanovo regional radio Ivanovo, and then on the regional radio station of the Europe Plus network. DJs win the sympathy of the public not only by broadcasting, but also with covers of foreign hits, as well as parody compositions.

On the radio, artists perform under the name “Disco Crash”. In 1992, Oleg Zhukov joined the duo. Having an acting education, the new participant successfully joins the team.

The fourth “Avarian” of the “golden squad” of the team, Alexey Serov, studied at the same school with Timofeev. He joined the group after the release of the first album “Disco Crash” in 1997. The team has been working with this composition for five years.

The year 2002 was marked by a tragic event for the group. Zhukov, whose recitative became a kind of calling card of the hits of the “Avarians” (“New Year’s”, “Attraction”, “H.H.H. and R.N.R”), dies after a long battle with cancer. After a short break, the three artists resume their performances. In an interview, the musicians deny rumors about casting for the fourth participant, emphasizing that Oleg was a friend to all three and it is impossible to replace him.

Ten years later, soloist Nikolai Timofeev leaves Disco Accident. The musician, commenting on the decision, says that he does not see further creative development in the team. In 2012, the artist begins a solo career. There are trials going on between him and Ryzhov on the issue of rights to joint creativity. In the end, the court sides with the songwriter: Timofeev is prohibited from singing compositions written by Ryzhov at his concerts.

Three months after Nikolai left, Ryzhov, on the recommendation of rapper Seryoga, accepted Anna Khokhlova into the team. A native of Chelyabinsk participated in the third season of the Ukrainian project X-Factor, but was unable to reach the finals. But the artist gained a foothold in the “Disco Accident”. Ryzhov, Serov, Khokhlova - the composition has remained unchanged since 2012.

Soloists of the group

Alexey Ryzhov

He was born on September 5, 1970 in Ivanovo. His parents are middle class. At school, Lesha was an active October student, a pioneer, and then a Komsomol member. Teachers and parents doted on him. From the age of 5 he attended a music school where he studied piano. Having received a certificate of secondary education, he entered an energy university. Then he developed his musical career. Since 1996 – member of the group “Disco Accident”. Married, has a daughter and son.

Alexey Serov

Born on November 15, 1970 in Ivanovo. Father and mother are professional musicians. From early childhood, Lesha decided to follow in their footsteps. He went to music school and performed in a pop ensemble. And in my teens I became seriously interested in football. Alexey Serov graduated from Ivanovo State University with a degree in law. In 1992 he was invited to “Disco Accident”.

Nikolay Timofeev

In 2012, one of the founders of Disco Avaria announced his resignation. Nikolai Timofeev worked in this team for more than 22 years. The news about the departure of the handsome brunette was a real blow for his fans. Soon Timofeev admitted to journalists that he did not leave the group of his own free will. He was literally forced to do this. Every year, relationships with colleagues became more and more unbearable. Nikolai announced that he does not plan to pursue a solo career. Today he makes a living by writing songs and creating backing tracks for various events. Unlike his colleagues in show business, Timofeev does not prohibit Ryzhov and Serov from performing compositions written by him.

Music

The start of the band’s biography can be considered 1997: the first album “Dance with Me” was released on cassettes. It was distributed through music stores and kiosks in Ivanovo and neighboring regions. “Avariytsev” began to be listened to in Kostroma, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl. The conquest of the capital began with cooperation with the Soyuz studio. Representatives of the record company include the compositions of the Ivanovo group in their branded collections.

In 1999, the albums “Song about You and Me” and “Marathon” were released, but real success came to the artists with the fourth record. "Accident against!" concentrated the dance charge of the group’s creativity.

In 2000, discos played both original compositions, for example, “Drink Beer!”, and remixed versions of pop hits: “Attraction” (a remix of the song by the group “Zhuki”), “Ciao, Bambina!” (remix of the song by the group “Brilliant”) and others. At the same time, “New Year’s”, a song released six months before the release of the fourth album, also gained popularity.

The team’s fruitful collaboration with director Hindrek Maasik begins with the video for the song “Attraction.” In the future, the Estonian video director will shoot another 26 videos for “Accident”. And six of them are for songs from the fifth album “Maniacs”, which the musicians will release a year after the success of the previous record.

In the new release, dance hits with ironic and hooligan lyrics are combined with lyrical, melancholic compositions, such as “Sky” and “Disco Superstar”. The latter resembles a dedication to Oleg Zhukov: he dies three months after the release of “Maniacs”.

A tragic event in the band’s biography coincides with the triumph deserved by the hits from “Maniacs”. Since 2002, group members have repeatedly received awards from Muz-TV, Russian Radio, Avtoradio and other channels and stations. But the main award is the MTV Music Europe Awards - in 2002, the music channel named “Disco Accident” “Best Russian Performer”.

In 2003, the “Avarians” made their debut on camera. In December, the Rossiya channel airs the New Year's musical film The Snow Queen, in which the actors play a gang of robbers. The song they sang appears in the team’s sixth album, “Four Guys,” which was published in 2006.

The disc is dedicated to Oleg Zhukov. Leading hits “If you want to stay” and “Opa!” They are collecting another harvest of bonuses.

By the beginning of the “tenths”, “Crash” increasingly creates duets. The group collaborates with Moral Code, Zhanna Friske, Nastya Zadorozhnaya, Kristina Orbakaite and others. In their previous role as robbers, the “Avarians” appear in the New Year’s project “The New Adventures of Aladdin”, created by order of “Russia-1”.

After Timofeev left, the group was in a creative search, which resulted in the album “Girl Behind the Wheel” in 2014. Videos were shot for seven tracks on the album, including the hits “Legs-Legs” and “K.U.K.L.A.” In 2017, the group gives a grand concert at Izvestia Hall, returning iconic hits to the repertoire and performing fresh compositions. The event was broadcast live on YouTube.

“Disco Accident” is a Russian musical group from Ivanovo, based on the decline of the USSR. Their main direction is dance music with easy to remember lyrics and layering of musical styles. The artists received special recognition in the early 2000s.

History of creation

The active work of “Disco Accident” began in 1990, although in fact the performers began delighting the public with their DJ sets, if you could call it that, back in 1988. Initially, Alexey Ryzhov and Nikolai Timofeev studied together at the Ivanovo Energy University and played in KVN .

Once upon a time, creative guys were tasked with holding a disco at the Electron student club. During the performance in a room that had seen better years, the lights went out, but either Timofeev or Ryzhov hastened to reassure the people: “Everything is fine, because we are “Disco Accident”.

Disco Crash – Drink beer

A little later, the guys were offered work at Ivanovo radio, where they became real innovators. As part of the show, they reviewed new music, made remixes (although this word was still new) to popular compositions, for example, they could put a house section and cool samples on a song by Alla Pugacheva - young listeners were delighted. The program, of course, was called “Disco Crash.”

The name “Accident” often justified itself in a negative way. The Kyiv tour brought the band a broken tire in the middle of a flat road; during a performance at the stadium, right before the band went out to the public, the wiring caught fire; in front of the club where the musicians were holding a concert, a stone fence, which had previously stood there for about a hundred years, collapsed for no apparent reason, and so on. Further. Since each such incident managed to avoid casualties, the artists treated “collecting” their emergency situations with irony.

The main stages of creativity

The tandem turned into a trio in 1992, when they were joined by an actor from the puppet theater Oleg Zhukov, to whom the nickname “Fat Man” quickly became attached. Performances began to be regular, and more than one album's worth of song material had accumulated.

Since the mid-90s, songs from “Disco Crash” began to be included in collections of popular music from the Soyuz recording studio. When selecting albums, the compilers of the albums were guided solely by the demand for a particular composition, and therefore the songs of “Time Machine”, Boris Moiseev or “Agatha Christie” coexisted perfectly with “Disco Crash”.

“Disco Accident” presented the first album “Dance with me” in 1997. After this, Alexey Serov joined the team. There were several memorable songs on the cassette (“Malinka”, “Drink Beer”, etc.), but it cannot be said that the recording made a splash.

The first absolute hit from the “Avarians” was the song “New Year’s” (1999) with a bright animated video. It still remains in great demand on the eve of the holidays. Also, the all-Russian popularity of the group was influenced by remixes of “You Ditched” and “I Won’t Soon” by Lyapis Trubetskoy.

Disco Crash – New Year's

Since there was a lot of developments, one after another the non-numbered albums “Song about you and me” (1999), “Marathon” (1999), “Accident against!” were released. (2000). Their track list contained original compositions by “Accident,” but most were remixes of songs by other artists: “Mumiy Troll,” “Brilliant,” “Zhuki,” etc.

But the album “Maniacs” was released in 2001, which included 11 compositions and included a bonus “New Year’s”. Songs "H.H.H.I.R.N.R." (which stood for "hip-hop, house and rock 'n' roll") and "Sky" were released as maxi-singles, both reaching top positions on the music charts. The clip for the latter was even named the best clip of the year according to Muz-TV.

Disco Crash – H.H.H.I.R.N.R.

In the same year, the hit “You hesitated!” brought the first Golden Gramophone to the Avarians. A year later, they were among the “Song of the Year” laureates. Throughout their career, the group received these awards more than once.

The ninth composition on the album “Maniacs” was the song “Disco Superstar”, which glorified the talent of the “fat DJ” Oleg Zhukov. It was filmed when the seriously ill Zhukov had already resigned himself to the inevitable. The video was released in 2002 – posthumously.

Perhaps the most charismatic member of the group was not only a good DJ, but also a masterful rapper. Alas, simultaneously with the advent of national fame, in August 2001, Oleg was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Everyone’s favorite “Fat Man” hid his illness from the press and public for a long time, underwent an operation, after which there was an improvement, but in November 2001 he was no longer able to perform with his comrades. When asked where Oleg had disappeared, the musicians laughed it off. So the death of 29-year-old Zhukov on February 9, 2002 came as a surprise to fans of the group. The last video of “Disco Accident” with the participation of Oleg Zhukov was the video for the song “At the Edge of the Attack”.

"Discosuperstar" was released posthumously

Timofeev, Ryzhov and Serov decided not to look for a replacement for their deceased friend. Oleg's comrades took a creative break and disappeared from the radar. In 2006, “Disco Crash” returned with a new album, “Four Guys” (the title indicated that Oleg continued to be the fourth member of the group), but a ceremonial comeback did not work out. Although the composition “Malinka”, a collaboration with Zhanna Friske, was actively played on all radio stations, and a provocative video was shot for “Severe Rap,” fans did not accept the new work, and some even accused the team of “opsification.” “We have descended into banality and plagiarism!” the listeners were indignant.

In 2011, “Disco Accident” was awarded the “Silver Galosh” anti-prize in the “Plagiarism of the Year” category: in their song “Aram-zam-zam” they found similarities with the soundtrack from the Soviet “The Hound of the Baskervilles” with Livanov and Solomin. In the same year, a new album, “Non-Children's Time,” was released.

Disco Crash – Aram-zam-zam

In 2012, Nikolai Timofeev went into free swimming. The discord between the old friends was explained by creative contradictions: Ryzhov and Serov said that Timofeev performed solo with the group’s “common” songs at the Slavic Bazaar festival, although he did not have the right to do so. And from Nikolai’s point of view, the reason for his departure was a conflict with Ryzhov - former friends constantly argued over who was doing more for the group. Moreover, he accused Ryzhov of legal fraud, as a result of which the rights to all the songs of “Disco Accident” passed to Alexey.

In November, Timofeev’s place was taken by Anna Khokhlova, a participant in the third season of the Ukrainian show “X-Factor”. Already with the new lineup, the album “Girl Behind the Wheel” (2014) was released.

Fans considered the joint work of the “Avarians” with Philip Kirkorov to be noteworthy. The song “Bright Me” (2016) received its own video, where the band members caught some kind of Pokemon, more like the king of Russian pop music.

In 2017, the team brought fans together at a large concert, broadcast directly online.

Scandals

“Disco Crash” had a very difficult time breaking off relations with team member Nikolai Timofeev. Many unpleasant words were said towards each other on both sides of the conflict. At the end of 2013, Ryzhov even sued his ex-colleague for copyright infringement. In response, a similar lawsuit followed from Timofeev. The litigation dragged on for several years. Everyone was unhappy with the decision: Nikolai was forbidden to perform the songs he claimed, but Alexey did not receive the compensation that he initially insisted on.

In August 2018, Alexey Ryzhov was unable to go on vacation to Italy with his family. The artist was turned away at the airport: he was not allowed to leave the country due to debts and non-payment of taxes.

“Disco “Avaria”” is a Russian pop group.

Despite the fact that the official date of birth of the group is considered to be June 5, 1990, the group began its activities back in 1988. Its founders, Alexey Ryzhov and Nikolai Timofeev, first studied in the same class, then played together in KVN, and later began working as DJs in clubs. At first the group was called "Interview", then - "Fire Extinguisher", and only then - "Disco "Accident". The guys owe this name to the “Avaria” club in the city of Ivanovo, which was their main place of work.

For three years, starting in 1990, the duo hosted the “Disco Crash” program on the Europe Plus-Ivanovo radio station. As part of this program, the musicians made remixes of famous hits and also sang parody songs. In addition, every month, until 1998, collections with foreign dance novelties were published, called “Disco Crash”.

In 1992, the duo became a trio - Oleg Zhukov joined the guys, and in 1996 the group already became a quartet, when Alexey Serov joined it.

The “Avarians” regularly performed at local festivals and discos. And in 1997, their first album, “Dance with Me,” was released, which became successful in the musicians’ hometown.

Two years later, Alexey Ryzhov brought several songs of the group to the Soyuz studio. And soon these tracks ended up in the collections “Soyuz 23”, “Soyuz 24” and “Soyuz 25”. The group became famous throughout the country. But real popularity came to “Disco” after the release of the song “New Year’s”, which became a real hit, oddly enough, in the summer of 2000.

In 2001, the disc “Maniacs” was released, which won the “Album of the Year” award.

In the winter of 2002, Oleg Zhukov passed away after a long illness. The group suspended its activities for some time.

At the same time, “Disco Crash” won the “Best Russian Act” category at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Barcelona. The following year, the group received the MUZ TV award as “Best Dance Project” and “Best Pop Group”. In addition, “Disco Crash” has repeatedly received Golden Gramophone statuettes.

In addition, the musicians also tried their hand at cinema: in 2003, they starred in the New Year's musical film “The Snow Queen,” playing robbers.

In the spring of 2006, Disco released the album “Four Guys,” dedicated to the memory of Oleg Zhukov.

The following year, “Disco Crash” was again awarded the MUZ TV award for “Best Duet” and “Best Video”, performing the song “Malinki-Malinki” with Zhanna Friske.

Over the course of several years, the group has become the winner of several awards, including the “MK Sound Track”.

In 2011, the group’s new album, “Non-Children’s Time,” appeared on the Internet.

And on New Year’s Eve, with the participation of “Disco”, the premiere of the film “The New Adventures of Aladdin” took place on the “Russia 1” channel, where Russian pop stars played.

In 2012, global changes occurred in the team - Nikolai Timofeev, who had worked in it for 22 years, left the group and began a solo career. Instead, a soloist was taken - Anna Khokhlova, a participant in the Ukrainian project “X-Factor”.
