Fear of realizing the truth, flight from the truth, horror of admitting to oneself what is really happening - this phenomenon has acquired enormous proportions in our time. Politicians are afraid to talk about the future, demographers are afraid to talk about the causes of extinction, sexologists avoid thinking about the destruction of morality, cultural scientists do not want to hear about the collapse of culture. Today, both Western and Russian society does not want to know the dangerous truth about itself. Silence has become part of modern ideology. And this is fraught with a global catastrophe. The death of civilization is already happening before our eyes.

The first part of your book is largely autobiographical. You remember how, from childhood, lies were instilled in the entire generation, and indeed the entire Soviet people. Through slogans, through literature, history, election procedures. Did you see the light during the years of perestroika or earlier, on your own?

We did not yet know that if a lie is repeated ten thousand times on the radio and in newspapers, then it will be believed as the truth. We did not think about the social schizophrenia of society. But almost everyone suffered from double consciousness: nearby they saw one thing, but believed in something distant and ideal, completely different. They believed that 99.9% of citizens really vote for “candidates of the indestructible bloc of communists and non-party people.” Poor collective farmers believed in the Soviet paradise of the famous film “Kuban Cossacks”. But the “Prague Spring” of 1968, when the USSR suppressed the Czechoslovak “Velvet Revolution” with tanks, made me think. The expulsion of Brodsky, Solzhenitsyn, Viktor Nekrasov, the emigration of Gladilin and Aksenov, the banning of the books of Nabokov, Orwell, Nikolai Gumilyov - all this made me think. In general, it is harmful to teach young people at universities! Students gradually realized that people in the West live freer and more comfortable than in the USSR.

But in the last part of the book you leave no stone unturned from the modern West! You are destroying his ideology, his values! Political correctness and tolerance make shreds fly. What doesn’t suit you about the freedom and prosperity of the West, where people from all over the world are striving?

Western civilization was built by Europeans, Christians in past centuries. Everything in science, technology, art, architecture was created by whom? White Christian heterosexual men, monogamous, who drank, smoked, overeated, violent and intolerant. They discovered the world, brought civilization to it, built cities and roads, created physics and mathematics, philosophy and aviation. They invented and introduced humanism, socialism, liberalism and tolerance. They wrote this on the banners: “Freedom! Equality! Brotherhood!" We all owe it to our ancestors - their intelligence, their work, their sacrifices. It was they who built a prosperous civilization.

In the West, neo-communism dominates as an ideology. Their ideologists are the nephews of the Russian Bolsheviks. They successfully teach to believe in the ideal and not to believe the truth. But when the wealth created by past generations runs out, their leveling system for idlers will also burst.

However, more than one hundred thousand people a year leave Russia for the West - for Europe and the USA. So they are drawn there? You spoke to our emigrants in many cities in Europe and the USA. How do they feel there, how do they settle in?

They settle in well for the most part. People who are leaving are energetic, educated, and young people first and foremost. They go to work, earn money, and provide prospects for their children. And they succeed: our people are resilient and persistent. And well prepared.

Secondary education in the West has collapsed - except for expensive private schools. There's a man counting two plus three on a computer. The school is dominated by ideology: everyone is equal, no one should stand out, bad and good grades cannot be given, gifted children and mentally disabled children should be taught according to the same program. Then at universities, students plow and catch up.

Aren't you afraid that liberals will declare war on you? Will they be accused of “white suprematism” and discrimination against minorities? And then it’s not far from accusations of neo-fascism.

They are not liberals, they stole and appropriated this name. Liberalism is freedom for all. And they are socialists: to give all the advantages to losers at the expense of equalization for the talented and hardworking.

I am no longer at that age when they are afraid of persecution. By the age of 70, you only need to fear for the future of your children and grandchildren, for what will remain after you. And the situation is that at the end of the 21st century, only ruins will remain of our great civilization.

The educational level is declining. There is an ethnic replacement of the peoples of European civilization. It is not politically correct to talk about this. This is true! But she's not good! Telling this truth is racism, nationalism, xenophobia and neo-fascism. You understand?! Do not condemn, do not fight - but even mentioning the phenomenon is considered by “liberals” to be fascism!

A cultural change is taking place. But we are supposed to say that diversity is good. It is officially prohibited to publish data on migrant crime. And it is considered that this is correct and good. Migrants are allowed to vilify their owners - but the owners are prohibited from speaking badly about migrants, otherwise it is fascism.

The well-known books by Richard Lynn and Philip Rushton provide irrefutable statistics: hundreds of thousands of studies on racial differences in intelligence, temperament, and propensity to violence. No one has been able to refute this - but even mentioning these works is considered politically incorrect! Ideology is placed at the forefront of science.

Artificial intelligence is clearly inevitably replacing human intelligence... It is politically incorrect to say that globalization is aimed at the destruction of sovereign states, the absolute domination of transnational corporations, that national cultures must disappear.

- But why do these processes happen - and many people don’t want to think or talk about it?

It is clear that any organism is born, matures, lives, ages and dies. And is replaced on earth by another. This is the fate of the biological system. The fate of the state and the social system is similar. Civilization is born, matures, lives, grows old and dies. This is an aspect of social evolution. The civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Minoan civilization, and the Greco-Roman civilization perished. The European-Christian one is also not eternal. Nothing in the Universe lasts forever. But civilization creates itself through people, carries out their thoughts and actions. For civilization to perish, people must do this. And in order to do it, they must justify it. And so they say absolutely fair and noble things: that all people are equal, that a woman should realize herself in production no less than a man, that sexual minorities are equal to the traditional majority, that cohabitation within and outside of marriage, the birth of children within and outside of marriage are completely equal. And moreover: everyone who is disadvantaged needs to be helped. Do you agree? I agree! And as a result, very few children are born, and Christian peoples themselves are replacing themselves with less advanced cultural ones, but more fertile and viable ones. The end - they will replace us. You need to at least understand this.

- So what, European values ​​do not help preserve civilization?

Values ​​are concepts and principles useful for the preservation and prosperity of the people. The principles at first glance are excellent, but as a result they quickly lead to the self-destruction of the people - these are not values, they are opium, they are a sweet anesthesia leading to death.

Both tolerance towards others and helping the weak are right and wonderful, but up to a certain limit. Until these principles are hypertrophied to the point that they allow the weak to suck the juices out of the strong until they completely die.

The terrible fate of socialism and equality in the USA is the fate of Detroit, the automobile capital of the world. Now there are slums there. High taxes and the maintenance of idle people at the expense of working people forced businesses to flee. Today there is a criminal African-American ghetto there.

You described famous experiments in social psychology, which proved that people sometimes do not believe their own eyes, but believe authorities or the majority. We're not just talking about propaganda. Why do people often not want to know the truth, defending their illusions with foam at the mouth?

Firstly, the human psyche strives for comfort. Thinking about the good and not thinking about the bad is simply necessary for mental health. We want to get along with others and drive away bad thoughts and worries.

Secondly, man is a social being. In our million-year history, only those who overcame difficulties and defended themselves from enemies as a coordinated group survived. And the unity of the group was more important than freedom of speech and thought. Even if you are right, you will be lost alone without your group. And together with everyone else you have a chance to survive. And natural selection took place: “collective man” survived. Therefore, the instinct of collective survival usually dictates that a person ignore his own point of view and believe in the rightness of the leader and the team.

And so a normal person, following other participants in the experiment, calls the long line short, and the short line long, or “shocks” the student on the orders of the leader.

Instill in the masses that the elite and the majority believe this to be the truth, and everyone believes it. Absolutism, communism, fascism, liberalism - the masses considered them to be the truth and treated this ideology as their own scientific knowledge.

But today we have cooler stories than in the West. The bloody massacre at a Perm school makes us wonder where today's permissiveness has led us. There are presidential elections ahead. Where are we going, what do we believe in? Who do we pin our hopes on? If there is even a candidate “against everyone” - Ksenia Sobchak?

This is a perfect example of how smart, educated people may not understand basic things, because they believe in what is convenient for them. The support of this candidate by part of the liberal and opposition intelligentsia speaks of the moral anesthesia that has struck the “elites.”

Let's look through the eyes of the electorate, the mass voter, the people, so to speak. Who does he see? Former TV presenter of the disgraceful cattle show “Dom-2”. A girl who started life in Moscow with a luxurious huge apartment in a supercenter. Curses for various reasons and scandals, such as “these bastards” about children on the playground who prevent her from sleeping during the day. “Socialite” is in a poor country where half the people’s salary is not enough for food and housing. Making money at corporate events, entertaining the rich at their feasts. Holidays on yachts and luxury resorts. Gilded vulgarity. And suddenly!!! For freedom and justice! And the whole liberal agenda from these lips!

What should such a voter think? “This one with her life - for these liberal slogans? We have heard enough of all sorts of slogans, but this is the personality. We saw these slogans in the coffin, if they are preached by such a person.” You can deceive with any words, but you cannot deceive with your life.

That is, an elementary political technology technique: to discredit the liberal agenda by putting it into mouths that the mass voter will consider obscene. That's the whole Newton binomial. And people at rallies boo her and chant: “Down with her.” And the liberal crowd is seriously talking about how this will diversify the elections. The candidate was chosen absolutely correctly: he is quite young, energetic, he speaks well, he is very charming, he is charismatic, and he is finally African-American; It seems we have reached a time when this will be very beneficial.

Now, since there are so many dissatisfied with the Democratic Party, we need a candidate who will be different in some way, we need some kind of bauble. This bauble is a woman. N. ASADOVA: Do you think that in Russia, in today’s Russia, these kinds of statements, these kinds of policy statements, can they meet with understanding and support? If so, why?

M. WELLER: I think that this is shocking, designed to create an impression, and besides, there are always several plans, aspects, goals for the fact that the votes of the extreme right, the most extreme nationalist elements would be cast for such a person. Words are such a thing - people understand them differently, but in some ways they understand them the same way. nationalist sentiments from the mood of national identity and national dignity, debates about this have been going on for many years. Since the national pride and national dignity of the Russian people are, of course, oppressed and humiliated, and anything can be declared extremism today, this is what I say, let it be better to be at hand and controlled. I think the danger today is not the nationalists, I think the danger today is that the current state of affairs is going to continue indefinitely until the country collapses simply because it is sucked dry. That's it - there will be no potential left. There will no longer be any faith, no goals, no national task, but only money for those who managed to earn it. My attitude towards “Echo of Moscow”, in general, has not changed at all. I had a very high opinion of him and still do. As for various private skirmishes, incidents and misunderstandings, they do not fundamentally change anything. But here’s what’s interesting: you can make a discovery or accomplish a feat, but if you put a pot of soup on a policeman’s head on live radio or television, then you are guaranteed fame. This kind of scandalously boorish attitude towards fame began around the same time as the new era.

From the point of view of traditional genetics, this is nonsense, because everything is based on instincts.

The French presidential election ended with the result that was predicted. But here’s what’s interesting: I clearly remember how, at the age of 7, I was walking along Lazoborzinskaya Street at the Borzya station of the Trans-Baikal Railway - there then stood the headquarters of the 6th Guards Tank Army, where my father served. And I see a banner across the street: “The Soviet electoral system is the most democratic in the world.” I don’t understand anything about elections, or democracy, or the system, I’m 7 years old, I’m a Soviet first-grader - but this is imprinted on me for the rest of my life. If a person repeats something 10 thousand times, it becomes his sincere belief. When people are told 10 thousand times that Marine Le Pen is a fascist, they will be convinced that this is so, without reading her program and without asking the question: what will France be like under Macron? The trick is that Macron is a media image. He has no political convictions, views, views or programs. This is a globalist, a man of the financial and economic elites, the Rothschild Bank, Jacques Attali, Hollande. He was once called the "Mozart" of financial mergers. And his task is to maintain the current trend.

I can only assume that there was an inconsistency between different heads, and some head needed to demonstrate to the main head that it was actively working and increasing the influence and authority of Russia in Europe.

At this stage, the interests of France and the French people and the interests of the Russian elite coincide. Namely: it is in the interests of the Kremlin to end anti-Russian sanctions, disunite the European Union and try to bring to power people who are tolerant of us. And it is in the interests of the French to stop disappearing as a people, to preserve France, their language and culture. This is a very interesting “fellow traveler”, if such a word can be depicted.

That is, the most important skill of a journalist is to “split” the interlocutor - you must stop a deaf-mute on the street and extract all the information from him. But now quite often a different point of view dominates. A journalist should indicate his position on air as actively as possible. If he is rude to the person he is trying to interview, if he misleads, if he asks extremely idiotic questions, such as (to the director of the Hermitage Piotrovsky): “Why are museums needed at all?”, then this attracts attention.

I don't understand this view of journalism. Because if, in order to make a good program, you need to say everything for your interlocutor’s tongue-tied guest, the journalist must say everything. If you need to crawl under the table to do this, he will crawl. If you spend your beggar's pennies on getting a guest drunk and split, then he will drink and split. This is journalistic professionalism. But there are other points of view. Thus, our points of view on journalism and the presenter of Ekho Moskvy did not coincide.

Our profession is in crisis not only in Russia - fake, ignorant journalism is dragging the world to the bottom in absolutely all parts of the world. We are dealing not just with competition with the Internet and the level of intolerance of this or that journalist, but with something else.

There is one brilliant story by Ray Bradbury, how during a multi-year interstellar expedition (a giant spaceship, a flying city, people live in different rooms, far from each other, talking via radio) one person communicates with another, but in fact it is not a person who is talking at all , and the film. And journalists who are aware of this power of theirs begin to feel like they are the main ones in the world, believing that they are the ones who make presidents and elections, and they decide what course the state and country choose. Quite often a modern journalist allows himself everything, believing: whoever you are, I will organize such information about you that you will drown in shit. Now we are going through exactly this stage of development of civilization.

About the smell

No. If I wanted to write: on the eve of the war, or on the eve of the revolution, or on the eve of the collapse of the country, I would have written so. The day before, there really is no telling what happened. Social tension is rising. The confrontation between the elite and the people in Russian society continues to increase, and the gap between rich and poor continues to grow. And how this will end - the appointment of a successor or a palace coup, or a Maidan - no one today can say with a 100 percent guarantee. But the smell is such that something will happen.

But it’s not only in Russia that this smell exists. The third world war is talked about in almost every European village.

I agree that today every civilized country has its own anxiety and discontent. The only difference is that the majority of our people live poorer lives and have fewer real rights. 4. About ethnic substitution.

Society is a single organism, a single system, where each member knows and foresees in what case what to do and what to expect. 5. About the collapse of the country.

Islam is active, aggressive, intolerant and dedicated to victory on a global scale. And he never admits that he is guilty of anything, blaming all the blame on others - and, in extreme cases, denying that the Islam of the killers was wrong, although the killers themselves are convinced that they are the true Muslims.

And now, if anyone suddenly doesn’t know, we live under the rule of a transnational oligarchy. But the oligarch has no nationality. And its birthplace is a bank account. Fuck their grandfather's graves.
Today, Russian national patriots are the only ideologized, united and organized by a single impulse force that puts the life and well-being of Russians and Russia above political correctness, above profit, above momentary laws (written by who knows for whom).

A fading power, a disappearing culture, leaving brains, drunken men, a dwindling people. Phantom of the Great Empire. There is a chance to change at least something. This is not enough. Because it is to believe in yourself, to believe in the possibility of change, to believe that the thief will be in prison, to believe that our billions will work for us, and not for the chief thieves. Voting for anyone else is for everything to remain as it is. For Navalny - this is for changes in the country, for saving the country. And if everyone who wants a better life for the country gives their vote for this, the stone will move.
