Where is the best place to relax in Bulgaria? Reviews from tourists. Sunny Beach, Bulgaria: where to go with children

Are you going to Bulgaria? This is a wonderful country with many beautiful places. What can you see in Bulgaria, what attractions and places deserve attention?

Where to go in Bulgaria?

So, what to see in Bulgaria? We offer you the most interesting places:

This is an incredibly beautiful and interesting place! If you want to feel the dizzying aroma of roses and see many opening buds and already blooming flowers, then you should definitely go here. This valley is located near the small town of Kazanlaka, located 200 kilometers from Sofia.

At the beginning of summer, this place turns into a real factory for the production of breathtakingly aromatic rose oil, which is added to perfumes and cosmetics. At this time, the local population collects the harvest, and many petals rush into large vats, from which aromatic liquid then flows out in a trickle.

2. Even if you are not a fan of reading and books, still take a look at it, located in the capital of the country - Sofia. Firstly, the inside of the building is incredibly beautiful. And from the outside, the library resembles a real palace. Secondly, ancient manuscripts and books can be found in the storage facilities.

Some works are so old that they are even handwritten. Thirdly, there are also books by contemporary authors. Perhaps you will find something that really interests you. And opposite the building there is a monument to Cyril and Methodius, who were not only monks, but also scientists and educators of their time. One way or another, visit this historical place if you are in Sofia.

There are seven of them in total, and they are located high in the mountains. It is better to go here in mid-summer, but even at this time you can observe a thin crust of ice on the surface of glacial mountain waters. The lakes are connected by icy streams, waterfalls and rapid water flows.

Between them you can see both snowdrifts and clearings with many fragrant wildflowers. Getting here is not easy, it is better to do it using a ski lift. The road is quite long, but the place is worth a visit.

4. If you are in Bulgaria, be sure to visit a small ancient town of Nessebar. This city is about 3000 years old and has been declared a museum. There are an incredible number of historical places, each of which is a symbol of a particular era. Nessebar is located on a rocky peninsula, connected to the mainland by a rather narrow isthmus.

There are many historical and architectural monuments, beautiful and simple houses that impress with their color. You can explore the entire city in a day, as it is very small: only 300 meters wide and about 850 meters long. And be sure to visit the gorgeous beaches of Nessebar!

5. Any tourist will be interested to see, located near the capital of the country in the Rila Mountains. The history of this unique place goes back to the distant 10th century. Surprisingly, the monastery was repeatedly attacked by enemies and experienced natural disasters. So, he survived a fire, an earthquake, and Turkish raids.

But each time local residents restored the structure, thanks to which it exists to this day. Today, the monastery houses several shrines, for example, the cross of Raphael, the icon of the Virgin Mary “Guide”, as well as the relics of John of Rila. There is also a museum and library on site. And the inside is so beautiful that not going into the monastery is simply a crime.

Located near the small town of Belogradchik. They tried to destroy this building more than once, but it was always restored. And this fortress was built to protect trade routes leading to the north back in the ancient times of the Romans.

The structure consists of three majestic tiers, the top of which has a huge reservoir for collecting rainwater, carved out of stone. Once at the top of the fortress, you will be able to see the Belogradchik rocks, which amaze with their grandeur and beauty. By the way, you can also visit them.

The sights of this town are so ancient that they can tell about the times of prosperity of the Roman Empire. For example, here you can see the amazing Roman amphitheater, which was built of marble back in the 2nd century AD.

In the center of the town there are ancient towers, and all the buildings are literally imbued with the Renaissance era. The houses are beautiful and colorful, they look like dolls. Among other things, Plovdiv has many monuments and museums. In general, be sure to visit this town.

– one of the most ancient and beautiful towns on the Bulgarian coast. This marvelous place is located in a bay that amazes with its beauty. Balchik is protected from storms and bad weather by Cape Kaliakra, so it is always quiet and sunny here. By the way, on this cape you can see mysterious caves, as well as the remains of ancient fortress walls.

The town has an amphitheater structure and many platforms, which means that while walking around Balchik you can enjoy amazing views. In the coastal area of this wonderful town there are many mineral springs and healing mud, so you will have the opportunity to combine business with pleasure and improve your health.

In addition, Balchik has an art gallery, two churches, and museums. There is also the largest botanical garden, which contains about 3,000 species of a wide variety of plants.

9. If you want to not only get your fill of culture during a week’s stay in Bulgaria, but also relax physically and mentally, then be sure to visit the beautiful city of Sozopol. This is a well-known and beloved seaside resort, where many tourists from all countries vacation every year.

Once here, you will be able to enjoy the most beautiful snow-white sandy beaches and crystal waters of the Black Sea, the beauty of a quiet harbor, which is one of the most romantic places in the resort, as well as stunning views of the coast. Holidays here are a little different from what tourists are used to. Here time seems to slow down. Wooden and stone houses, as well as cultural monuments and nature, attract attention.

10. Must visit Aladzha Monastery. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is carved into the rock. This monastery was created in the 4th century by Christian hermits, and it existed for a whole millennium, but then was plundered by Ottoman invaders.

This unique structure consists of two tiers, and at the entrance you can see a museum dedicated to the history of the creation and existence of this monastery. In the first tier of the monastery there is a refectory, kitchen and cells of the monks who lived here. Of course, they are changed, but they look exactly as they looked many centuries ago.

And on the second tier there is a chapel. In addition, near the monastery you can find catacombs. According to legend, they served as a refuge for monks who defended themselves from the Ottoman invaders.

11 . If you love wine, be sure to go to Melnik town. The town is small, but it is very beautiful and quiet. The population is only 300 people, but the houses and buildings are beautiful and outlandish. It will take you a few minutes to walk along the main and longest street of Melnik.

But it’s worth coming here just for the delicious wines that are produced according to the ancient traditions of ancient wineries (the city is their capital). Be sure to visit a local tavern and taste aromatic wines. But don’t get carried away, because there are other interesting places in the town, for example, the Melnik rocks, as well as the Rozhen Monastery.

This paradise of recreation and wellness is located away from major roads and railways, although it has good transport links.

You can always get there by minibuses or buses. Therefore, if you are interested in where to go in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, you can safely choose short trips to these neighboring cities.

Climate

In Sunny Beach, the most comfortable period for a great holiday is considered to be the end of May - the beginning of October.

As for holidays with children, the most optimal period would be: mid-June to mid-July. Because at the end of July - beginning of September there is a large flow of tourists from different countries and cities, which can make it somewhat difficult to stay with a child.

Holidays with children in Sunny Beach

We can say that this resort was specially created for children's summer holidays. Perhaps in some ways it is similar to the Golden Sands resort: just as active, sunny, cozy, diverse. But it’s quieter here, with more activities for kids.

A mild climate, a spacious beach with clean sand, a calm sea - all this is important for a children's holiday. Where to go with children in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria? Below are several options:

  • children's playground and small swimming pool (at the hotel);
  • game rooms;
  • children's discos (for children from 9-10 years old);
  • attractions and karting center;
  • water parks.

It will be important for parents with children that there are attractions here that can be visited with children, the cafe offers a children's menu, there is medical care, and there is also a relatively quiet environment during the day, evening and night. If you are traveling with an infant, it is recommended to stay in hotels in the northern part of the resort. The resort also regularly hosts special events for children and puppet theater performances. And the possibility of an all-inclusive holiday allows you to eat in a restaurant that offers a wide selection of dishes, including those that are perfect for children.

Luna Park and other activities on the beach

The length of the beaches of Sunny Beach is 10 kilometers. Width from 30 to 100 meters.

The sand is clean, soft, from which figures, beads, castles, and so on are perfectly molded. Special sets for playing in the sand are sold in stores right on the resort beaches.

As for swimming, the sea is very suitable for children, since the depth increases gradually, that is, it is shallow near the shores. And this is exactly what you need for a vacation with children.

There are also water slides on the beach that both children and adults can ride on, and most hotels have small pools especially designed for children.

There is also a carousel amusement park “Sunny Beach” on the beach, which is open from 10.00 to 21.00. This will also bring special joy to children and adults during their stay in Sunny Beach. The park has a swimming pool, slides, carousels for children, teenagers and extreme ones for adults. Also on the territory there are: karting, a cafe, and a zoo.

The karting center is a special place where parents and their growing children can play car racing. Great track, good speed, cars in decent condition. Balaclavas are purchased for an additional fee for each driver.

If on vacation a child wants to eat, but it is not time to eat in the hotel restaurant yet, then the question of where to go for a snack is very easily resolved. Sunny Beach in Bulgaria provides a good menu for adults and children in a cafe right on the beach. Here you can enjoy smoothies, lemonade, ice cream, and sweets.

Water parks

Of course, what child (and even adult) can resist the opportunity to visit a water park! The Sunny Beach resort has such a favorite entertainment as visiting the Action and Kuban water parks.

For example, Action offers the following attractions for children:

  1. Water castle. Very emotional fun. Children crawl through two tunnels, ride down water slides, play with a ball and swing on a rope. The attraction requires good mobility for the child: jumping, running, climbing, playing with water sprinklers, and so on.
  2. Adventure Island- the most favorite children's entertainment in the water park. There is a children's pool with six slides (for both toddlers and older children), an island 3 floors high, and a water playground. And the emotions are especially overwhelming from games with splashes, climbing rope ladders, a water cannon and other interesting things. The attraction is intended for children under 12 years old. There is no such children's entertainment anywhere else!

There are also activities in the water park for the whole family, for adults and for those who prefer extreme sports. Its opening hours: 10.00-18.00.

Kuban Water Park is a small water amusement park located at the hotel of the same name - in the center of Sunny Beach. Open from 9.00 to 18.00. Entrance is free for residents of this hotel complex. Residents of the entire resort can relax on its territory.

Kuban is one of the earliest buildings of this kind of objects. However, its architecture (ancient Incan fortresses) and extreme water slides are still relevant today.

For adults there is a large pool with slides, a bar with drinks and a restaurant with Mexican cuisine. And for children there is a miniature pool and a pool with a fountain. The bottom of each bowl is lined with mosaics that depict paintings from antiquity. There are also animal figures and a fortress on the territory.

Family trips to cafes

Where to go in the evening in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria? This question does not cause any difficulties, because in the city there are many cafes and restaurants with national Bulgarian cuisine, where you can have a great time with the whole family. For children there is a special menu, children's programs, games with mimes and clowns, some establishments have a children's room or corner for children's games.

Restaurants that are perfect for such outings are: 100% Family Restaurant (there is a children's corner with toys), "Shanghai" (there is a vegetarian menu) and others that are located right in the city. They seem to be designed for families with children. There is good service, excellent cuisine, and a pleasant atmosphere.

If you have someone to leave younger family members with, then choosing where to go yourself in Bulgaria on Sunny Beach is also very simple. There are excellent pub restaurants (Restaurant Bolero, The Harp and others), discos for adults, an open-air cinema, and themed parties.

Walking around the city with children

You can also take your children for a walk around the city of Burgas. This is a small industrial resort town that is gradually being renovated. Everything in it is well-groomed and beautiful.

In its center there are two intersecting main streets. There is no traffic or cars on them, so you can take a walk and admire the local surroundings, the original statue-shaped fountains, which are illuminated in the evening with multi-colored lights.

There are beautiful temples that you can go into to see the interior decoration, paintings on the walls and ceilings. There is also a street leading to the sea, where there are strange mansions.

On the streets of the city you can drink fresh fruit, eat ice cream, corn, chips, fruits in delicious chocolate glaze.

A feeling of happiness and celebration during such a walk is guaranteed!

Children's room in the shopping center

There are a lot of tourist reviews about where to go in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria. Some people like water parks, some prefer boat rides on the sea with their kids, and some love the rides in an amusement park. People speak well of these facilities, noting their convenient location, reasonable opening hours, relatively low prices, creative atmosphere, developed and constantly updated infrastructure. The presence of a large number of vacationers is cited as a disadvantage, but this does not apply to the operation of the establishments.

Another place that is useful for both adults and their children to visit is the city's Shopping Centers. They offer a huge selection of clothing and supplies for schoolchildren, which can be purchased at affordable prices. That is, combining business with pleasure. On the territory of the shopping center there is free internet and a bistro-type cafe, where light snacks and delicious soft drinks are offered. And in the Mall Burgas shopping center there is a children's room where you can leave your child for a while. There, a teacher will look after him and engage him in a variety of games or toys.

Excursions (museums)

In addition to theaters and churches, the city has museums. For example, you can take your children to the Museum of Archeology. Here, a 30-minute excursion will fly by quickly, easily and interestingly for adults and children. This museum has a small exhibition, but you are allowed to touch the exhibits (pieces of statues, shards, etc.), which will be entertaining even for the youngest visitors.

No matter which city in the country you go to, the time spent here will not be in vain. You convinced yourself of this by finding out where you can go in Bulgaria and what to see here. All that remains is to make a choice by deciding which city you want to go to. In any case, the pastime promises to be very interesting.

Bulgaria is rightly considered one of the best countries in Europe for an inexpensive and high-quality holiday. But in addition to a beach holiday by the sea, many people want to see the sights. There are a lot of interesting places in Bulgaria that are worth seeing, but most of them are not on the coast, but quite far from it.

However, there is a lot that is worth seeing on the coast. You can go on excursions almost everywhere, but in my opinion it’s better to rent a car and visit the sights on your own.

Number one in the program of all those who come to Bulgaria without exception is. Located on a small peninsula, the city is protected by UNESCO and is truly an absolutely amazing place that you should definitely see if you find yourself in Bulgaria. A huge number of various festivals are held in Nessebar in the summer.

The city, also located on the peninsula, is the younger brother of Nessebar, almost a twin brother, but somewhat smaller. This picturesque place is worth a visit; you should definitely see the semi-underground Church of the Holy Mother of God. 2 kilometers from Sozopol there is still under construction, which is already being called a masterpiece.

South of Sozopol is located what is called the Bulgarian Amazon. You can sail along the river on a tourist boat to see the blooming of water lilies and simply the beautiful virgin nature of these places. Also not far from Sozopol there is a unique object -. This is a place for lovers of mysticism and places of power, of which there are many in Bulgaria; a separate article can be written about this.

The city is by no means overcrowded with attractions; it is worth visiting for the sand sculpture festival, as well as for shopping. Yes, yes, there is decent and inexpensive shopping in Bulgaria!

The sea capital of Bulgaria is a much more interesting city than Burgas. There is something to see both in Varna itself and not far from it. First of all, it is mystical. It is also worth visiting, famous for its collection of roses, and the Aladzha rock monastery. Not so far from Varna there is, which is often called the nose of Bulgaria and the miraculous statue of a horseman in Shumen.

Of the coastal cities in Bulgaria, it is worth a visit, located on a highly elongated peninsula. It’s worth visiting here and trying spa treatments with mud from the bottom. The lake itself is not so picturesque; it is more interesting to see the lake in winter, when there are thousands of white swans. Few people know how many swans winter in Bulgaria! And few people know what heavenly grace and silence there is on the Bulgarian sea coast in the off-season!

Here, perhaps, are all the main attractions that you can visit while relaxing in the seaside resorts of Bulgaria.

But if you set aside at least a couple of days from your vacation and travel into the interior of the country on your own or with excursions offered at all corners, then you should definitely see the ancient capital of Bulgaria. I won’t even write anything about this city, you just need to see it and breathe its extraordinary air. In the evening, a luxurious light show takes place on Mount Tsarevets. Near Veliko Tarnovo is worth a visit with its ancient houses and monasteries. The surroundings of Veliko Tarnovo offer stunning nature and several magnificent ecological routes.

- real symbols of Bulgaria. But it is worth remembering that oil roses bloom for only a short time - at the end of May and at the beginning of June. And at the end of June, lavender fields begin to turn blue throughout Bulgaria. Bulgaria is the world's largest producer of lavender oil!

Ancient monasteries of Bulgaria in different parts of the country are one more interesting than the other: Bachkovo Monastery. You definitely need to visit at least one of them.

There are many beautiful caves in Bulgaria that are open to tourists. The most visited cave is. Near the town of Lovech there is a picturesque Syeva Dupka cave and one of the most beautiful caves in the world. Not far from the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, you can visit the Magura Cave.

It’s not very popular with tourists, but it’s worth a visit to see the temples of different religions in the city center.

The cities in the central part of Bulgaria are very interesting: with its Roman amphitheater and painted houses, Haskovo with the world's largest statue of the Virgin Mary, Perperikon, which is called the Bulgarian Petra. Closer to the border with Greece is the ancient Zlatovgrad and the smallest city in Europe Melnik.

There are places of amazing beauty in the Bulgarian mountains. These are primarily the Rila Lakes, the Peipus rocks, and the Devil's Throat. In one of the lakes in Bulgaria, Rabishsky, according to rumors there is a monster, a close relative of the Loch Ness. There are many waterfalls in the country, the most famous of which are Krushunskie, which are a mini-similarity to the famous Plitvice Falls in Croatia. Not too far from the coast there is a cable car. There are a lot of ancient picturesque bridges throughout Bulgaria, each of which has its own legend.

Fans of memorable historical places should visit the Shipka Pass, and also look at the nearby crumbling communist palace on Mount Buzludzha.

It must be honestly said that on the coast of Bulgaria, among hotels, restaurants and discos, it is absolutely impossible to feel the spirit of the country, although travel companies make every effort to introduce tourists to the traditions of the country, serving traditional cuisine.

In my opinion, Bulgaria is still greatly underestimated by tourists. Everyone who has visited not only its sandy beaches has a completely different impression of the beautiful and ancient country of Bulgaria.
