IN July 1941 The People's Commissariat of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy of the USSR decided to build an electrolysis workshop at the plant on the basis of the equipment of the Severonickel plant evacuated to Orsk. IN March 1942 The workshop began producing electrolytic nickel from copper-nickel matte, which came from Norilsk.
In 2007 The plant produced a record amount of products - more than 17 thousand tons (in terms of pure nickel). In 2008 year, due to a temporary drop in nickel prices, production volumes were reduced.
