Color therapy of N. Roerich's painting. Spiritual Pictures

The picturesque works of art of Andrew Gonzalez are very reminiscent of sculptures, and at first glance it is difficult to guess that these are just paintings that create the illusion of convexity due to the special technique used by the skilled artist.
Mysterious and feminine, fraught with mystery, his works attract the viewer’s gaze, who tries to look into the very soul of the art on canvas.

Andrew Gonzalez's mystical paintings are painted with acrylics on plaster panel or on canvas using an airbrush. Shapes and convexity are achieved using a special paint lifting technique. Influenced by esoteric traditions, the artist describes his work as modern tantric art (In Indian terminology, tantrism is the doctrine of the dual nature of the world, in which the male and female principles are represented). Andrew Gonzalez's interest in the secret, mystical and sacred led him to the question of the perception of reality and essence. That's why he tries to find the answer in the esoteric paintings he creates. Each meticulously painted piece takes months to complete. Sometimes the artist uses a magnifying glass to reproduce small details.

Andrew Gonzalez is an artist based in San Antonio, Texas whose work has won numerous awards and has been shown around the world. He grew up in an artistic family, where his father, Anthony A. Gonzalez, encouraged his son's interest in drawing and painting.
In childhood, drawing gave the future artist access to the exciting world of fantasy and imagination. This playful engagement with fiction has evolved into a creative exploration of the human soul and a celebration of the forces of life.

PARADOXES OF ESOTERIC PAINTING

Landscapes of the soul

esoterics - “Artistic” vampirism and cosmic reality

How, in what conventional units, is the notorious “great power of art” measured? And not at all in those same ones... People sensitive to vibrations say that the degree of “masterpiece” of a creation is evidenced by the strength of some energy radiation emanating from the canvas or sculpture. Everything seems to be logical and understandable. But how then to explain the PARADOXES of the so-called ESOTERIC PAINTING?

Any banal pie that contains the warmth of human hands, in addition to the wonderful filling, also carries a certain energy-informational charge. It is clear that the degree of emanations increases as the skill and spiritual potential applied to what is created increases. Especially if it was born as a result of a creative act - the unity of spirit and consciousness. It is the power of energy radiation that allows a certain object to be classified as a work of art. And if the radiation goes off scale, then this is nothing more than a sure sign of an eternal masterpiece.

Pulling up to genius

Art critics - in the case of masterpieces - are quite happy with this theory. True, out of habit, they explain such phenomena by the skill of the artist and the genius of the embodiment of the creative plan. Which is also completely pointless to deny. At the same time, recognizing that, perhaps, contemplating a masterpiece, the viewer, through associative perception, adapts to the state in which the creator was at the time of its (masterpiece) creation, that is, when he (the artist) was at the peak of creative insight. Synchronizing with this state of the creative genius, the viewer experiences it as a flight of his own sublime spirit, while at the same time purifying himself and becoming a genius spiritually...

Something like this (rather confusingly, but generally understandable) can explain the nature of the spiritual catharsis experienced in front of the paintings of great masters. They are a tuning fork, by listening to which, you can tune in - through the insight of a genius - to Eternity. Stairways for the spirit leading upward...

But how then do the paintings of so-called esoteric or energy artists “work”? Neither those who felt their impact, nor even art critics understand this. Because the power of art is there, but art itself as a category is not always available. Since the followers of this genre do not prioritize the artistic image and the skill of its embodiment on the canvas, but rather the energy therapeutic effect. That is, an energy message perceived by a person who contemplates the image. Therefore, for connoisseurs of painting as art, these creations are incomprehensible, moreover, as a rule, they cause rejection precisely because of their unprofessional execution. Which, in fact, is not surprising - after all, many esoteric paintings came from the brush of people who had never painted before. Which began to “pour themselves out” in a similar way under the influence of a sudden influx... Researchers of such extraordinary phenomena report that it is “invisible waves of creative energy of Otherness that for some time transform people who cannot draw into artists... Imaginative cosmic information is accepted by non-professionals. They do this in a special spiritual state, and when it passes, they again lose the ability to draw...” Perhaps this is how the inexplicable power of inspiration works?

Conductors and semiconductors

Or this is another version. Any creation is a certain model of the universe. And here, as they say, there are two options. The first is an image of the creator’s inner world, which, as a rule, is very far from perfect. That is why - from an esoteric point of view - such an “artistic” outburst of the subconscious is more often charged negatively, since it reflects the confusion of the artist’s spirit and impulses unrealized in real life. And when the viewer resonates with such a picture, it only strengthens his own mental discord... More precisely, the effect of the picture depends on the personality of the creator, his karmic programs. A painting is capable of emitting energy if its creator is in an “upward flow”, or absorbing it if the artist is moving in a downward spiral... Such things are considered manifestations of energy vampirism. However, in the case of “artistic” vampirism, this is not dangerous, if, of course, a proper place is found for such a vampire painting. With the help of such creations, you can, for example, clean your apartment of excess negative energy - like a vacuum cleaner. Or even completely move or remove the geopathogenic zone.

The second option is the reconstruction of the True World, the True Reality, the knowledge of which takes place in subtle spheres. In this case, the artist is only a conductor, receiving information from above and capturing it in the physical world, on canvas. It is then that the work emits such strong energy-informational vibrations as the fruit of deep meditative work. And here the purity of the “conductor” is very important. Russian artist Alexander Rekunenko, a member of the Union of Artists, who ideologically belongs to the same “guild,” notes the following on this occasion: “Creativity based on meditation, on entering a special state of the initiatory stage, acquires its true meaning. This is a fixation on the material plane of events The Highest World, images of the spiritual Hierarchy, shining Shambhala...In the current era, the era of Aquarius, in the words of Mahatma Djwhal Khul... the revival of mystery art becomes an organic need, born of the evolutionary process itself. The goal of mystery art is to create a resonating energetic environment that introduces the viewer into the zone of that or other energetic intensity... Essentially, this is a fixation of the process of revelation, the transmission of the Heavenly world through a pictorial code." These are the goals that so-called esoteric painting pursues. Moreover, often in this case, a complete understanding of the work requires, in addition to meditative contemplation, a direct decoding of the symbols of the picture. And here we cannot do without esoteric concepts. A sensitive person can enter a trance state himself and use such pictures for independent meditative exercises.

Yes, esoteric painting is indeed capable of expanding the boundaries of art: it can be used in energy-information technologies, using the subtle energies invested by the artist in his creations for the treatment of mental and somatic diseases using the method of light-color therapy.

Space realism
Another energetically related genre is the work of cosmist artists, in whose works two worlds also clearly merge - the subtle, invisible, and the dense, physical. By combining form with the energetic qualities of the higher world, cosmists embody images that they perceive thanks to their inner spiritual vision.

The art of artists who embodied a complex and multifaceted cosmic worldview in their work flourished at the beginning of the twentieth century. Perhaps their imagination was spurred on by intensive scientific research - the first group of cosmist artists "Amaravella" in their unusually bold paintings embodied what K. E. Tsiolkovsky and V. I. Vernadsky wrote about. The Roerichs provoked a powerful surge of creativity with their “Living Ethics”. The second heyday began in the late 1980s “under the wing” of the N. K. Roerich Museum, which regularly provides its halls to modern cosmist artists who successfully continue the traditions laid down by N. K. Roerich and M. K. Ciurlionis. Thanks to their ultra-high sense of things and phenomena, cosmist artists give people contemplating their creations the opportunity to lift the curtains of Cosmic evolution and touch the energetic changes taking place at different levels and in different areas of the modern world...

Both in Russia and Ukraine in the last decade there has been an unprecedented surge in the development of such areas. However, since ancient times, art has set itself the task of connecting the earthly world with the high spheres, turning, if not to the divine, then to the mythical. And any creative act had the character of a mystery. To a large extent, this concerns archaic art, which originally performed magical functions, was deeply symbolic, and had the power to influence the course of earthly life.

Perhaps, to some extent, artistic searches in an esoteric direction resolve the emerging contradictions in this area. After all, many critics note, if not the degeneration of art, then its decline in terms of the emergence of new forms and means of expression. But the very name “art” indicates its “unnatural”, “artificial” roots. And esoteric artists, on the contrary, although not always skillfully, always very inspiredly demonstrate a pure impulse, a transformation of energy, not burdened by any academic conventions of art schools and market conditions. True, as in any pure impulse, opportunism constantly reminds itself of itself. After all, today you can make good money by producing esoteric things. This is how esoteric painters appear, who consider it quite sufficient to comply with the “laws of the genre” to depict the corresponding attributes and objects: luminous pyramids, figurines of Buddhas with tilakas, unidentifiable “faces”, light spirals, angels of various configurations, purely “Roerichian” peaks, etc. "Agni Yoga" And they successfully find buyers for their works, which inspires them to new achievements. And here a reasonable question arises: how to distinguish truly energetic painting from profanation? It’s very simple: those who are able to pick up vibrations will figure it out themselves. And the rest will be quite satisfied with what they have.

ESOTERIC PAINTING

Cosmism as an art direction

One can hardly argue with the statement that the artist reflects in his work the reality that he sees. But what is “reality”? Are there only apples in a vase or scenes on the street? Is spiritual quest a reality? Is the passage of time a reality? Are the secrets of the universe reality? Is thought reality? Can visible images convey the flight of thought?

Artists, commonly called cosmists, answer this question with their works. They answer in the affirmative. With their creativity they anticipate the disclosure of those processes of cosmic evolution that are unfolding at the present time, but cannot yet be described by means of traditional scientific knowledge. In their paintings, they convey to the audience the ideas of new cosmic thinking about the spiritualized Cosmos, about Infinity, about the relationship between man and the Universe, about worlds of other dimensions and other states of matter - interpenetrating into each other and existing as a single reality, about the beauty of these otherworldly worlds.

V. Chernovolenko. Radiant thoughts
Cosmism as a new direction in painting was a continuation of Russian spiritual traditions; it manifested itself especially clearly at the beginning of the twentieth century. This was due to the reflection in the artistic space of the cosmic worldview, behind which stood a new beauty and its search. The new direction rejected symbolism and came into contact with cosmic reality, with its new energy. For the first time, the cosmic beauty of other existence, captured on the canvases of cosmist artists, brought art closer to the reality of the Cosmos. Many paintings by cosmist artists are musical. With the power of his gift, a true artist transfers the sounds of cosmic rhythms to the canvas, and the viewer becomes involved in new beauty and new energy, which expands his consciousness, awakens his imagination, and gives birth to new lofty images.

This is especially important during the crisis of contemporary art, when ugliness and chaos look at us from the canvas and sound in music. Speaking at the opening of an exhibition of cosmists at the Museum named after N.K. Roerich, General Director of the Museum of L.V. Shaposhnikova expressed the content of cosmism in the following words: “A drawn rocket, or a simple display of stars and planets is not cosmism. You can draw a teapot and it will be cosmic, because... Cosmism is something spiritual, something that permeates form, penetrates into certain artistic subjects. So far, only artists have been able to see cosmic force and cosmic energy in an earthly object.”

Among such artists is the group “Amaravella”, which in its unusually bold in thought paintings embodied the ideas that K.E. wrote about. Tsiolkovsky, V.I. Vernadsky, A.L. Chizhevsky. The meeting with Nikolai Konstantinovich and Elena Ivanovna Roerich and acquaintance with the teaching of Living Ethics had a powerful influence on the work of “Amaravella”. Unfortunately, members of the Amaravella group shared the fate of many talented Russian people destroyed by the totalitarian regime. Space art was banned for many decades.

A. Maranov. Rainbow. Penetration
A new flourishing of cosmism in artistic creativity began in the late 1980s. Since its final opening in 1997, the Museum named after N.K. Roerich, regularly provides its halls to contemporary cosmist artists. This is no coincidence. According to L.V. Shaposhnikova: “These days, in the cultural and spiritual space of Russia, an amazing process of development of new cosmic art is already underway. Its creators are very different both in skill and in spiritual fulfillment. But they are all united by a boundless love for Beauty and Infinity. True masters, subtly sensing Otherness, with developed internal energy and the ability to create new forms<…>not enough yet."

But, unnoticed by official art criticism, these artists rightfully earned the love and recognition of numerous exhibition visitors who were delighted with the subtle beauty of their paintings. Through visible images on their canvases, cosmists convey what until very recently was called intangible.

Living Ethics explains to us that in addition to the dense world, there are two others - Subtle and Fiery - and spiritual manifestations relate to these higher forms of being. It is the Subtle World that cosmist artists reflect in their work. They embody in their paintings New Beauty and new energy, thanks to which we enter into energy exchange with everything we see and touch.

Their plots are quite real, only this reality is of a higher order. That is why it is no less objective than the material world. One of the proofs of this is the exhibitions of cosmist artists at the N.K. Center-Museum. Roerich. Their participants are artists working independently of each other. Among them are Oleg Vysotsky, Sergei Fedotov, Yuri Ushkov, Irina Bogachenkova, Alexandra Tikhonova, Irina Kulyabina, Valery Kargopolov, Vladimir Glukhov, Alexander Rekunenko, Igor Anisiforov, Alexander Maranov and many others. The technique and style of each of them is completely individual, but how similar is the language of their images, the color scheme of the paintings, and some of the details!

The work of modern cosmists can rightfully be called synthetic: being European artists of the late 20th - early 21st centuries, cosmists are free to express themselves, but, like religious artists, they set the goal of their creativity to reveal a certain spiritual idea. Ideas of otherness, spiritual transformation, connection with the Supreme, which had a deep tradition in Russian Orthodox icon painting.

Yu. Kuznetsov. St. Stephen Makhrischensky

However, artists of this trend are gradually moving away from the icon-painting tradition, freeing themselves from church canons and boldly rushing into the wide spiritual expanse of the Cosmos.

There is one more cultural tradition, the relationship of which with the work of the cosmists I would like to say specially. This is the philosophical painting of China and Japan, where the landscape - sometimes with rare figures, sometimes deserted - was the embodiment of a certain psychological state or philosophical idea. Such a conventional landscape is often found in the paintings of cosmists; it becomes not an image of nature, but a reflection of the human soul.

The work of the cosmists is a kind of return to the original indivisibility of philosophy and art, but a return on a completely new level - both ideological and visual. Cosmist artists provide an opportunity to touch the energetic changes currently taking place in the world, the changes associated with Cosmic evolution - these changes are most fully felt in the internal creative space of art.

Despite the fact that each artist is looking for individual means of expressing his ideas, many images turn out to be similar. This is explained by the fact that cosmist artists intuitively turn to the language of mythological symbols, the memory of which has been preserved in human culture for centuries.

The favorite color of many artists is blue. In mythology, this is the color of wisdom, mystery, knowledge obtained from otherworldly worlds. Blue is the color of a harmonious aura, a sign of high spirituality. And therefore, deep, rich blue is the color of many paintings by cosmists.

Mario Duguay, a talented artist from Canada, paints beautiful pictures of heaven, depicting the spiritual world, which is described in various religions.

His heavenly drawings carry positive energy, awakening in us bright feelings and a desire to return to the Kingdom of God.

Not every artist can create such beautiful works; this requires a special talent and connection with divine energies.

In an interview, Mario Duguay tells his story: he was a tattoo artist and became heavily involved in drugs and alcohol, which led to a dark streak in his life.

He was left without a wife, money, job, and with a feeling of shame in front of his family.

All he had left was the light within.

To escape his loneliness, he turned to spirituality, became interested in the New Age movement, and began working for himself and underwent various treatments.

Mario Duguay admits that at that time he began to paint to exorcise the dark sides of himself, but now he paints with the goal of giving something to others, wanting to touch the spirituality in each of us.

The artist’s early paintings, according to him, were not so bright, and the current paintings reflect the experience that he receives.

The heavenly pictures of the spiritual world are Mario Duguay's attempt to bring more Light into life.

And it seems that the artist’s bright mission is achieving its goal, finding a response in our hearts.

We were lucky enough to behold 50 paintings of the Kingdom of God by Mario Duguay, and although these heavenly paintings are shown here in small size, looking at them, we feel in our hearts that this is approximately what the spiritual world should look like.

Description of heaven - the Kingdom of God

In addition to the artist's paintings, excerpts from the description of the Kingdom of God are given, borrowed from the Srimad Bhagavatam, canto 3, chapter 15.

The author of this article hopes that the texts of the sacred scriptures of Hinduism and the heavenly drawings of Mario Duguay will complement each other well and will be of interest to a wide range of readers.

Although different religions describe the Kingdom of God differently, one can still see many similarities in the descriptions of the spiritual world.

So, welcome to the spiritual world! A brief description of heaven, the eternal abode of the Lord.

The Kingdom of God is located above all material universes, including above the planets of the demigods, and even Brahma himself, the creator of the material world, wants to get into it, not to mention the other demigods.

The variety found in the spiritual kingdom is inextricably linked with the transcendental pastimes of God.

There are billions of spiritual planets floating in the sky of the spiritual world, which are called Vaikunthas. The inhabitants of Vaikuntha do not know any worries, because in the Kingdom of God there is no birth, illness, aging and death - everything there is eternal and blissful. The Vaikuntha planets abound in incalculable riches, as we will see from further descriptions.

On these planets live the Supreme Lord Himself and His pure devotees - souls who have realized themselves, God and eternal relationship with Him.

The Lord, being an inexhaustible source of bliss, brings happiness to every person by His presence alone.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the original Personality, the Source of the entire manifested world, who can be understood by studying the scriptures.

The Lord is full of pure goodness, and He Himself helps the souls surrendered to Him to achieve the highest spiritual perfection.

In the Kingdom of God everything is spiritual; all forms of life - plants, birds, animals, people - have a spiritual nature. All the inhabitants of the Kingdom of God are pure devotees of the Lord.

Wishing trees grow here, strewn with flowers and fruits regardless of the time of year.

Husbands and their wives fly in airships made of gold, emeralds and lapis lazuli, and tirelessly chant the all-auspicious activities and qualities of the Supreme Lord.

They have no desire to receive sensual pleasures because serving God (for example, chanting His divine qualities and activities) gives them such all-consuming bliss that any sensual pleasures, in comparison with this bliss, simply lose their attractiveness.

In the spiritual world there is no difference between birds, trees, flowers, people and other inhabitants, because all forms of life in the Kingdom of God are animate and have God Consciousness (reside in God Consciousness), therefore they are all in a state of eternal ever-increasing bliss.

Everything here is spiritual and full of diversity, there is nothing inanimate.

The basis of existence in the spiritual world is the principles of devotional service to the Lord, which includes, first of all, hearing and chanting the qualities and activities of God as the Supreme Personality.

In Vaikunthas, even flowers and birds engage in the service of the Lord.

Pure devotees of the Lord living in the Kingdom of God have no shortage of emeralds and precious stones.

Gold ornaments studded with precious stones are obtained by the blessing of God, and not as a result of exhausting labor, as happens in the material world.

They own countless treasures without making any effort. But their true pleasure comes from serving God, and not from possessing unprecedented treasures.

Vaikuntha women are many times more beautiful than the most beautiful women you can see and even imagine in our material world. They are beautiful like Lakshmi herself - the goddess of prosperity.

However, husbands in the Kingdom of God have access to much more sublime pleasures than sexual pleasures, so they do not feel any need for them.

In the spiritual world, the Supreme Lord is eternally served by millions of goddesses of fortune. In their gardens they worship the Lord.

The land of Vaikuntha, as stated in the Srimad Bhagavatam, consists of the philosopher's stone. This is how heaven is described in the sacred scriptures of Hinduism.

How to get to the spiritual world, enter the Kingdom of God

The desire to return home to the transcendental spiritual abode compels one to study the nature of the spiritual kingdom.

Studying descriptions of the spiritual world is the beginning of the path to heaven.

One who tries to understand the spiritual nature of the Vaikuntha planets is considered a lucky person.

Any person can transcend the material world and enter the spiritual abode of the Lord if his consciousness is sufficiently purified to realize his true nature, God and his eternal relationship with the Supreme.

Only one who has acquired all the virtues, 26 qualities of a holy person, can enter the Kingdom of God. Those who are engaged in serving the Almighty gradually develop all these necessary qualities. The 26 qualities of a saintly person are described in the Caitanya-caritamrta, as well as in the third canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam, twenty-fifth chapter, verse 21.

It says that a person who is worthy of returning to the God Realm is very patient and kind to all living beings, so he has no enemies. He is always calm and unperturbed, does not start arguments with anyone or quarrel. Such a person considers Krishna Consciousness (the Supreme Personality of Godhead) to be his highest goal in life, because there is nothing higher and more blissful than being in God Consciousness.

He treats all living beings (not just people) equally, because he sees their spiritual nature. He is always pure, spiritually and physically, and has an impeccable character. A devotee does not feel or consider himself the owner of anything, whether in the material world or the spiritual world, because he understands that everything belongs to the Lord.

He wishes well to everyone and is peaceful, has no material desires and shows modesty. His feelings are curbed and he is devoid of false conceit. He does not eat more than is necessary to maintain the body in optimal condition. Respecting others, he does not demand respect for himself. He is friendly and compassionate. These are the qualities of a person worthy to enter the Kingdom of God.

Regular chanting of the sacred mantra (Hare Krishna maha-mantra) is the most important part of devotional service recommended in the Bhagavad-gita, Srimad Bhagavatam and other scriptures, and this mantra helps one to acquire all the necessary qualities to return to the Kingdom of God. However, while chanting the holy names of God, offenses should be avoided, because this will become an insurmountable obstacle on the path to the spiritual world. A description of the ten offenses that prevent one from returning to the Kingdom of God can be read in spiritual literature.

Unhappy people, the inhabitants of the middle planets (like the Earth), instead of discussing the description of the Kingdom of God, discuss topics that defile their ears and darken their minds.

People who refuse to listen to descriptions of the spiritual world, and instead indulge in talking about material things, make their way into the darkest regions of ignorance.

Lord Brahma, the creator of the material world, says that the human form of life is so valuable that even Brahmas and demigods strive to incarnate among people, because only a person can acquire perfect spiritual knowledge and perfectly comprehend the meaning of religion, that is, achieve.

If a person cannot understand the nature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His Spiritual Kingdom, it means that he is under the strong influence of the external energy of the Lord - the aggregate of material energies that obscure the Supreme Truth.

If a person hears the praises of the Lord and experiences ecstasy, in which his breathing quickens and his body becomes covered with perspiration, he enters the Kingdom of God, even if he has never before engaged in spiritual practice and has not performed ascesis (voluntary deprivation of sensual pleasures for the sake of progress in spiritual life). practice).

Other descriptions of God's eternal Kingdom can be found in other religions.

Studying descriptions of the spiritual world is beneficial for a person because it awakens in him the forgotten spiritual reality and revives the desire to return to the Kingdom of God, which is the first important step on the path home, to the eternal transcendental abode of the Supreme, full of wisdom and bliss.
