She worked for 30 years in a city clinic as a dentist. My father now works as a surgeon at the hospital. I actually have a family of doctors. My older brother, for example, did poorly in school, and my father had the opportunity to help him get into medical school. I studied well, but medicine never attracted me.”

By the way, Yanix was the first to wear pigtails at the “new school”. “It was two years ago. Precisely braids, not dreadlocks. And then everyone else appeared.” They reacted (naturally) poorly. They asked me to return my old hairstyle. “And they put a lot of pressure. And then they got used to it, and everyone began to like the braids. I remember how I got lost, and there were 5 thousand fewer likes on the photos on Instagram.”
He graduated from school with a silver medal - only biology let him down. “I just didn’t like the subject, I missed tests.” But the teacher got into trouble for it. “She was called to the director because she allegedly could not find an approach to me. She then invited me to her place and said: “Why didn’t you tell me that you got all A’s, except for my subject?” Well, I think that if I got a B, then I deserved it.”
After school there was Moscow University of Economics and Informatics. “I am the last graduate of this university, because the next year it was merged with Plekhanovsky. And if you type the name of the university into Google, I will be the first outstanding graduate on the list. And after me there are great politicians who are now in prison, and no one can displace me, because there is no such university anymore,” Yanix laughs.
He entered on a budget. And he did what he wanted. When he came home at night, his mother didn’t talk to him at all for the first three months of school. "Because I said, 'School's out, and from now on, I decide what I want to do.' And then she realized that I couldn’t be manipulated, and the lectures became much less.”
Yanix's rap history began at the end of his second year - mixtapes, first hits. I just posted tracks on the Internet - some passed by, and some brought popularity. “Back then everything was just getting started. People came up to me a couple of times and asked to take a photo. To my classmates, I was an ordinary guy. And I put myself in such a way that no one joked with me.”
In his third year, he already rented an apartment for himself in Moscow (where he moved from his native Krasnogorsk). “And there, no one could control me at all.” Today Yanix is one of the main characters in the Russian rap game, but mom is still unhappy. “He says it would be better if you received 30 thousand a month, you would have a respected position... But what you are doing is nonsense.”

Yanix’s parents have never been to their son’s performances either. “I understand that they don’t understand. They are unlikely to enjoy my music. I would invite them to a large-scale concert, and I think it’s just around the corner. I, however, have this problem - I always come to the club, and it seems to me that it is getting smaller and smaller. That is, when a thousand people come, it no longer evokes emotions in me.”
He believes in karma and signs of fate and believes that rap has always been his destiny. Here’s the proof: “At 18, I couldn’t pronounce the letter “r.” And I always liked technical rap, when they rap quickly. And when you try to repeat it, you inadvertently work with diction. As a result, I began to pronounce “r”, and even a speech therapist could not help me with this as a child. I realized that I needed to continue to work on this matter, and I was right.”
You won’t see him on the subway - the last time he went down there was before he bought his first car. It will stand up better in traffic jams. “It’s not because I’m arrogant. When I lived in Krasnogorsk, I generally constantly traveled by train and minibus. It’s just, you know, the moment you become popular, people start taking pictures of you on the sly, sit down, start talking to you. So over time I realized that I want to be rich more than famous.”
Now his main income is concerts, digital sales and advertising. Yanix doesn’t have many corporate events, but they do exist: “It’s very quick and easy money. There is no need to fly anywhere, because they most often take place in Moscow or St. Petersburg. They pay a lot. You come for 40 minutes, report and get twice as much as the usual fee. But performing is uncomfortable, it’s not a stage. And, as a rule, they treat you like this: well, he came and came. There was such a case: I start performing at a girl’s birthday party, and her boyfriend said something to her, and a quarrel begins. The girl starts crying, the guys almost start fighting. The girl is sitting in the corner of the hall alone, three people are looking at me, and I continue to read. Then everyone went about their business. And when those 40 minutes were over, we just said thank you and left.”
But he almost always takes pictures with fans. When appropriate. “But I can refuse, for example, when I’m running or when a person says like an idiot: “Are you Yanix?” I say: “It’s not me,” and he says: “No, it’s you!” Why are you even asking then?
