Paintings made of wool, winter landscapes. Master Class

Oksana Shavkun

I've always dreamed of learning to write paintings watercolor or oil. But what stopped me was that this is the lot of the chosen few. I admire the creativity of painting by many artists and do not understand how one can capture a life filled with richness of color with the help of brushstrokes on a canvas. One day, while looking at crafts on the Internet for another holiday, I came across works from wool. They looked like watercolor paintings. I decided to try to write one like this picture. The result exceeded all my expectations. The picture turned out voluminous, lively, interesting. For the holiday of March 8, I again decided to try to make a craft using this technique. It turned out painting:"Bouquet". Surprisingly, but write wool paintings are very easy. They turn out very beautiful, even if this is your first time doing such work. I will be happy to share my experience.

« Winter landscape»

So, for work you need a frame with glass. Yarn different colors: white, blue, dark blue, lilac, purple, yellow, orange, brown. Yarn for paintings It is used very little, so it will be enough for dozens of your works. Also a piece of white flannel, which we glue to the base of the frame. Although I used very thin pieces of padding polyester instead of flannel. Pieces (thin, almost transparent, glued with pencil glue to the base of the frame. You can also use non-woven fabric.

Using one of these three methods we cover the base of the frame. Then we start working with wool. You need to start from the background. We take strands, pulling them out from the main tape so that they are thin, almost transparent, and simply lay them on the flannel. The strands should overlap each other, and then the color will mix.

After we lay out the sky, we proceed to the foreground and lay out the snowdrifts. We pull out strands of different thicknesses from the main white ribbon for volume. paintings.

To make a house, you need to pull out wool brown and cut into small pieces with scissors.

Use tweezers to grab small parts and place them in the shape of a house. The roof of the house should be made of white wool.

We also lay out the pipe and windows using tweezers. And we make smoke from thin white yarn.

We lay out Christmas trees near the house. Finely chop wool of three colors: dark green, blue and blue. We lay out Christmas trees from this mixture and cover them with thin strands of white. To make a tree, you need to twist brown yarn with your fingers to make a trunk. (thread). And then from wool make a snow crown in white. We make a fence near the house in the same way as a tree trunk, twisting a brown strand with our fingers.

To make a moon, you need to take yellow wool, roll it into a thread with your fingers and wrap it around your finger, giving it the shape of a circle. Place the yellow circle on picture and fill it with finely chopped white wool.

In the front view we lay out the spruce. It should be large, as it is much closer in distance. Let's take it wool the same three colors and chop finely. Using tweezers, lay out the branches and cover them white wool.

After we do picture, take white yarn, raise it to a height of 50 cm and finely chop it, as if it were snowing.

We cut off the excess yarn on the sides with scissors, cover it with glass and insert it into the frame. And here is my final result!

Master class "Forest. Winter landscape". Application from paper napkins in the senior group. Starting from the younger group, I have been making things with my children.

Felting wool (felting: from the English felt - felt, felting, felting, stuffing) is a special needlework technique, during which wool for felting is used to create a pattern on fabric or felt, three-dimensional toys, panels, decorative elements, items of clothing or accessories . Only natural wool has the ability to mat or felt (form felt).

These are such wonderful works from the master Ksenia Moroz

Wool painting is another fascinating and very creative form of fine art. It is becoming increasingly popular, and now master classes on DIY wool paintings are appearing on the Internet, creative schools are opening, and handicraft clubs are introducing this type of creativity into their program. Let's keep up with fashion trends and try to get involved in creating paintings using colored wool.

This MK is designed for beginners, for everyone who wants to get acquainted with the technique of felting pictures, so anyone who has a sufficient amount of perseverance and patience can cope with the work.

To create this picture we will need:

combed wool tape, colors: white, blue, dark blue, light blue, turquoise, dark brown, brown, yellow, orange, red;

non-woven fabric 18*24 cm for backing;

Scissors;

Tweezers;

picture frame;

Glass.

We fix each stage, leaving the work with glass. However, this applies only to “dry” techniques: wet felting does not require such fastening.

1. Pulling strands of wool from the tape, we cover the surface of the substrate with them. We lay them in different directions, the ends of the threads should extend 1-2 cm beyond the non-woven fabric. After attaching the glass, we cut off the excess.

2. By pinching the wool, we form cotton wool for work. We create the background in layers, laying from dark to light shades. We control the quality of laying the material, also applying glass.

3. We create snowdrifts using white strands laid parallel to the horizon. This technique can often be seen when looking at landscapes made of wool.

4. Pull out strands from the dark blue ribbon and twist them a little. This way we draw silhouettes of trees.

5. Add trees made of white wool.

6. We collect fluffy wool mass and, giving the desired shape, thus making the crown of a tree.

7. Use a thin ring of wool to mark the outline of the moon. We fill it with wool fluff, cut as finely as possible. Wool paintings for beginners often use this technique.

8. From dark brown and brown wool, we cut and lay wool for the house. Note that the part on the right is darker than the left.

9. We “make” the roof for the house from dense white strands, carefully using scissors. Here you need to take into account the direction of the fibers.

10. We cover the lower part of the house with snowdrifts, invariably made of white wool.

11. Continue felting. We cut out the windows, add the finest strands of turquoise and blue to the snow. A little of it should end up on the roof.

The paintings have already been gifted to all friends, relatives and friends. So all that remains is to sell, because there is nowhere to go, and I can’t stop in the creative impulse. Yes, consumables need to be repaid. Wool is never cheap :)))

So, my paintings are made of wool. What is "wool painting" or "wool watercolor"? Paintings using this technique are created not by dry or wet felting, but by layer-by-layer laying out dry wool on fabric, layer by layer. The work is then covered with glass and framed. Under the weight of the glass, layers of wool appear. The pictures turn out vibrant and colorful, they look three-dimensional and bright! So that you want to taste them. You can look at a picture made of wool and feel with your body the movement of air masses, the warmth of the sun, the smell of grass. TO Each woolen painting is unique, as it is carefully laid out by hand, which conveys to it the warmth of the soul of the author, who literally brings the work to life and charges it with his energy. Of course, after this the picture cannot help but sparkle with atmosphere, idea, emotion. Yes Yes! Wool is a living material. Wool paintings literally come alive under your hands. That's why I like them so much!

Moreover, wool is “democratic”: anyone can create paintings from wool (having acquired experience and skills in working with it over time). Art education is completely optional. By the way, I don’t have one. The only thing is that this is quite labor-intensive and time-consuming work. But, how meditative... I really want my woolen paintings to give joy not only to me, but also to others; would bring warmth to the house and a great mood. And paintings made of wool can become an unusual and sincere gift for any holiday (when you absolutely don’t know what else to give to your family and friends).

So, if you like my works, then simply select and write to me “in a personal message” the name of the painting you like. I’ll make the same or almost the same within 2-3 days, since wool is a living material and does not lie 100% the same way as the previous time (and I’m not a copier). Therefore, each work is unique and never repeats one another. You can also send me a photo or picture, and I will try to create the most similar copy from wool according to “special order”, so to speak :) If you take two or more paintings worth 10 thousand rubles, you will get a 10% discount on the entire order. I would like to please someone else with my work besides myself and my family! Yes, I would be extremely grateful for your re-post.

According to the size of the hardboard backing removed from the frame, cut out a rectangle of white flannel. Stick onto the backing (use a glue stick). This is the “canvas” for the future painting. The picture should be “painted” from the background. Tear off thin, almost transparent strands of wool from the ribbon and place them on the background. The strands should overlap each other - this results in a mixture of colors and smooth transitions from color to color.

Step 2

Lay out the foreground - snowdrifts. Different thicknesses of layers in different parts of the picture also create perspective.

Step 3

It is impossible to line small details of a painting with long fibers of wool. Cut a strand of wool over a piece of paper into very short lengths.

Step 4

Picking up small pieces of chopped wool with tweezers, lay out a small house lost in the snowdrifts.

Step 5

Cut a strand of white wool and lay the pieces on the roof. To make the roof “reflect” the sunset sky, add a little colored wool to a strand of white wool.

Step 6

While cutting colored wool, make other small details - for example, house windows, a pipe. Make smoke from a twisted strand of white wool.

Step 7

Twist a thin strand of dark wool in your fingers - a tree trunk. Place it near the house. Use finely chopped white wool to make a snow-covered tree crown.

Step 8

In the same way, laying out the cut pieces with tweezers, “plant” several Christmas trees near the house. To depict Christmas trees, use wool of several colors at once - dark green, blue, light blue. Place the strands together and chop them finely, mixing the colors. Place some white wool “snow” on the spruce paws. Lay out thin twisted strands of wattle fence near the house.

Step 9

Wrap a thin strand of yellow wool around your finger several times - this is the outline of the moon.

Step 10

Place the ring on the background. Fill it with chopped white wool. Place an image of a snow-covered Christmas tree in the foreground. Given the perspective, the image should be large.

Keep track of the seasons.

5.Measure the dimensions of the substrate.
Ensure accurate measurements.

6.Cut the base to the size of the substrate.
Monitor cutting accuracy.

7.Place the base on the backing.
Make sure that the backing and the base are aligned.
Completing the “Winter” plot.
1. Pull the fibers into thin strands from the combed tape.

Maintain even strands.

2.Lay thin, almost transparent strands onto the base, filling the background.
Make sure that the strands of wool are approximately the same.

3.Paint the sky with different shades of blue.
Monitor the creation of the shade.

4.Finely trim the wool for small details of the picture.
Make sure it is the correct length.

5. Lay out the Christmas trees with small pieces of chopped wool using tweezers.

6.Finely trim the white wool. Make sure it matches the desired length.

7. “Dust” the Christmas trees with finely cut white wool.

Ensure the accuracy of the work.

8. Lay out a small house, lost in the snowdrifts, with finely cut wool using tweezers.
Make sure the sketch matches.

9. Lay out the trees in thin strands. Make sure the work is done accurately.

10. Wrap a thin strand of white wool around your finger several times - this is a ball for a snowman (similarly, make 2 “snowballs”).
