"Creepypasta": characters and their stories (photos)

November 30, 2014

Many Internet users have already heard about the so-called “Creepypasta,” but most know practically nothing about it. Some people may assume that this is connected with some scary stories, but they do not know the details. Today, “Creepypasta” is an integral element of the Internet community, which is constantly growing, developing and, naturally, frightening. If someone thought that this term was associated with horror, they were not mistaken. The fact is that “Creepypasta” is a word that includes a full-fledged sphere on the Internet. But it all started with one community in which users came up with their own scary stories and illustrated them, and other readers could complement them, improve them and make them even scarier. This is how “Creepypastas” appeared - stories about some creatures that terrorize civilians, scare, kill, torture, and so on. Everyone knows that this is fiction, but this does not make it any less scary - this is such “Creepypasta”. The characters of this genre are particularly cruel, scary in appearance, frightening details, and so on. Therefore, next we will consider the most famous of the heroes, who already instill fear in a huge number of people of all ages.

Slenderman

Most likely, the most popular Creepypasta character today is Slenderman. Several third-party projects have already been created about him, including full-fledged video games - this is a great achievement for the Creepypasta genre. Characters in this genre most often remain confined to the Internet, but Slenderman turned out to be so unusual and impressive that he was able to break into other areas. What is he like? Initially, he was depicted as a very tall and thin man in a formal suit. What distinguished him from a real person was his face, or rather, the absence of it. Slenderman lures small children out of the house, and then kills them or subjugates them, making them his assistants. Naturally, this character has undergone numerous changes from various authors. Not many of them have taken root - for example, now Slenderman is very often depicted with tentacles growing from his back. The Thin Man is the most popular and successful "Creepypasta", the characters of other stories, of course, also create horror, but it is Slenderman who does it best. But it's time to talk about other popular heroes.

Jeff the killer

“Creepypasta” is famous for its many interesting characters; the characters of this genre very quickly gain universal love. This happened with Jeff, who was nicknamed the killer. In fact, he is the real killer, who sneaks into the house and watches the sleeping person until he notices him. Then Jeff orders the man to continue sleeping, and if he listens, he may survive. If not, then Jeff immediately attacks him with a knife and kills him. Outwardly, this character is in many ways similar to an ordinary person, only his eyes are definitely wild, and his mouth is huge and constantly stretches into a terrifying, sinister smile. Jeff may die, but he is always reborn into one of his victims, which makes him even more terrible, which is what any “Creepypasta” achieves. The characters and their stories are breathtaking and also make you forget about sleep. After all, at any moment you can feel Jeff’s gaze on you.

Jane the Killer

This story is directly related to the previous one, which is quite typical for the genre called “Creepypasta”. Characters and their stories often intertwine with each other, creating an incredible world full of horror and fear. So, Jane is the girl who lived next door to Jeff when he started killing and became a monster, not an ordinary boy. And one day Jeff came for Jane, who sympathized with him, while everyone else hated him. So he came not to kill her, but to play a perverted game with her. Jane tried to defend herself with a knife, but it didn't work, and Jeff doused her with gasoline and set her on fire, disfiguring her beautiful face. After that, he sent her a mask and her knife, saying that he hoped that she would find her beauty. After this, Jane vowed that she would dedicate her life to finding and killing Jeff while she hides her disfigured face behind a mask - this is exactly the story Creepypasta offers players. Pictures of the characters are in the article, so you can look at both Jeff and Jane at any time.

Eyeless Jack

The next character who has become everyone's favorite is Eyeless Jack, a very entertaining "Creepypasta". The pictures of the characters, including Eyeless Jack, perfectly complement the stories, making the story more vivid. So, Jack received the nickname Eyeless for the reason that he was born with completely black eyes. For this he was hated and despised, mocked at him. As a result, it all ended with his parents being killed, so Jack put on a mask, took his father's scalpel and began performing operations on those who did this, as well as those who bullied him all these years. For some time he did this with his friend Justin, until he committed suicide, unable to bear such a life. The list of Creepypasta characters is constantly updated with such interesting heroes. Each of them has its own story, which can both captivate and frighten.

Ben the Drowned

The story of one gamer who mysteriously became a participant in a computer game on the verge of virtual and real realities is quite relevant. The list of Creepypasta characters even includes such heroes, so if you are not yet familiar with this direction, then you should definitely read the notes and look at the images and videos. In this case, the story is about a game that transported the main character into a virtual world that seemed real. The intricate events ultimately add up to a single terrifying picture that can frighten even the bravest readers of the Creepypasta genre. The characters, whose photos are on many relevant resources, are the most impressive. And in this regard, Ben is amazing, since he has the appearance of the famous hero of the game “The Legend of Zelda” Link.

Tim Muskie

The story of Tim Mask, a teenager who decided to star in an amateur horror film in a deep forest, looks quite interesting and fresh. At first glance, this is a fairly ordinary “Creepypasta”, characters, photos and stories are publicly available, but something in this story looks strange and incomprehensible. The gist of it is that he was unable to meet the friends with whom he planned to make the film. But the forest attracted him, lured him and did not allow him to leave, run away, hide. All his attempts to get away failed, and in the end the forest swallowed him up, turning him into something other than a person - this is how the characters in “Creepypasta” are. Absolutely all stories are available in Russian, so you can easily read the full version of any of them.

Hoodie

Hoodie is another maniac who did not want to become one, but conditions turned him into a monster. He lost his parents, his older sister and her husband took custody of Alex (Hoodie) and his sister. The stepfather beat his wife, and when she was not there, he took care of the children, and one day he accidentally killed Sandra, his younger sister. Alex took a knife and cut his throat, but his older sister immediately returned and accused him of killing both relatives. At this point, Hoodie had to get rid of her too, and then burn the house down and go kill, wearing a mask and his sweatshirt.

Ticky Toby

Toby is another boy who killed his own father and then tried to cover it up by committing arson. This character has something in common with Slenderman, because it was he who subjugated Toby to his will and made him his servant.

creepy stories) became widespread in 2006 thanks to the English-language imageboard 4chan. Most of the “classic” stories, written on behalf of an anonymous author and positioned as stories from the lives of imageboard users, were published in the section /x/ dedicated to paranormal phenomena. Threads dedicated to such stories are called creepy threads. Creepypasta quickly became one of the most popular genres of online folklore.

A separate popular subgenre has become stories that, first of all, cause a smile, rather than horror. These include stories that are written ridiculously poorly or written deliberately poorly for the purpose of trolling, parodies, stories at the intersection of the humorous genre, etc. In RuNet, the term NPCHDH arose to name them - an abbreviation for the phrase “so bad that it’s even good.” Russian parody creepypastas often exploit cliches of horror stories from children's folklore of the second half of the 20th century. In the English-language segment, “Soviet (Russian) creepypasta” is widespread, parodying at the same time classic creepypasta plots and the so-called. “cranberry” - exaggerated stereotypes of anti-Soviet and anti-Russian propaganda.

Despite the fact that creepy stories were initially distributed completely anonymously, in the 2010s, in both the English and Russian segments of the Internet, many authors appeared who used a permanent pseudonym, and sometimes did not even hide their real name.

Currently, there are separate sites on the Internet that are collections of creepy stories. On some of them, in addition to samples of online folklore, you can also find stories by modern professional writers in the horror genre and works of classical literature that foreshadowed horror literature.

Examples of characteristic characters and phenomena

Typically, creepy stories take place in urban settings, and paranormal phenomena are not associated with traditional mysticism. Readers are also interested in stories in which the mystical element is kept to a minimum, which allows the story to be close to realistic. Some stories are completely in the style of splatterpunk and do not contain a paranormal component at all.

Frequently occurring phenomena in creepypastas

  • Anomalous video games: indie game "Theater" (eng. The Theater), NES Godzilla - a pirated version of the NES game Godzilla: Monster of Monsters (English), Sonic.exe - a hacked PC version of the 16-bit game Sonic the Hedgehog from 1991, Toonstruck 2 - a real-life unreleased continuation of the Toonstruck quest (English), mod Jvk1166z.esp of the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, location “Lavender Town” in Pokémon Red and Green, etc.
  • TV channels and websites containing snuff videos: Caledon Local 21, “Where the Bad Kids Go,” “Normal Porn for Normal People,” etc.
  • "Lost Episodes"(eng. Lost episode) - lost or removed from public access images, audio and video materials or applications that contain anomalous or extremely scary materials: the TV show “Candle Cove”, the unreleased episode “Squidward’s Suicide” ( English Squidward's Suicide) animated series "SpongeBob SquarePants", unreleased Disney cartoon "Suicide Mouse" about Mickey Mouse, videos "Grifter" and Mereana Mordegard Glesgorv, application BarelyBreathing.exe, etc. . .
  • "Don't look back"- stories in which there is a “breaking the fourth wall” effect. For example, the narrator suddenly informs the reader that under no circumstances should he turn around at the moment, otherwise something irreparable will happen.

Creepypasta as a fandom

In the early 2010s, variations secondary to the original creepypastas began to actively spread - additions, sequels, prequels, reworkings, etc. Against this background, a fandom emerged on the Internet associated with human and anthropomorphic creepypasta characters. Thanks to him, a specific interpretation of the term “creepypasta” arose, meaning precisely such characters, and not the genre of Internet folklore that gave birth to them. A large amount of fan art, including fan fiction, has been created within its framework. The most popular characters were Jeff and Slenderman. However, this fandom has gained notoriety as a refuge for mentally unstable teenagers and is considered “toxic” both in Western countries and in Russia.

Negative attitudes towards both the fandom and the term “creepypasta” are also fueled by media publications in which creepypasta is mentioned in the same breath as “groups of death” and the game “Blue Whale”. At the same time, publications may contain gross factual errors: for example, creepypasta can be called a type of anime.

Heh... Guys, I tried, and my fingers are burning. If you ask where is B.Jack, S.Jack, Ben, etc. then I said above that they are the most famous, and as soon as there are 60:hearts: under the article, then I will move on to the rest of the characters.

Good morning, gentlemen. On this beautiful summer day, the author of the article will take on the role of one of his friends and will hammer into your bright little head the definition of “Creepypasta Character”, which some also call “CreepyCharacters”. So, who are these “creepypasta characters”? It's clear that these are characters from the "CreepyPasta" fandom. Everything could be clear with them, but here comes one big “but”! The fandom was created not by one person or a small group of people, as is usually the case, but by everyone who has ever created a character for creepypasta. And that’s why things are very complicated with the list of characters. But the author will address the following questions: I) What does a character from this particular fandom look like? II) How does a character become a creepypasta character? III) How to distinguish between a high-quality character and a low-quality one?

First: What does a character from this particular fandom look like?

Let's start with the most important detail. The Creepy Mouth character must be J-U-T-K-I-M, S-T-R-A-SH-N-Y-M. Now many idiots will start: “And Jeff isn’t scary, but he’s a creepypasta character! How is that possible?”. It’s not Jeff who’s not scary, but you’re a fool. You, as a fan, have already seen enough pictures with kawaii Jeffrey, which personally make the author sick. After looking at them, you realized that Jeff is not so scary. But at first he scared you, admit it. If you didn’t stare at stupid pictures, but just read really scary and interesting stories (like real fans do), then you wouldn’t turn off the light at night. The author is babbling for some reason... Let's move on. The character should also not be licked from another. That is, we don’t need any Ninushkas. But the characters may be similar in some ways. That is, if Ben the Drowned has black eyes with red pupils, then another character may also have such eyes. Yes they can. Read about all sorts of spirits and demons. Then you will find a sufficient number of guys with such eyes. But now they won’t plagiarize the Drowned Man, right? A character also needs a story. A normal story, not “Vasya lived normally, but then he read about Slenderman, went crazy, cut out his head, killed everyone and ran away to Siberia.” Damn you, be original! It's easy to come up with a scary story if you don't think about the other character's story. And in general, there is no need for any similar stories. Let me remind you that creepypasta is, first of all, original and scary stories, and not sexy anime fights with blood. The main thing is that the story should be simple. For example, while reading the story of Sally-Play-With-Me, you noticed that there were no “super twists”, like in one of the versions of Jeff’s story, where he fell into acid. You can even come up with a story based on a real event from your life. For example, you were walking on the way home from the store and saw a cat. She looked at you and then ran away. You don't care about the cat and you went home. But imagine that in your place there was a little girl who decided to run after the cat. What happened next? And then you figure out what kind of fucked up thing happened to her. Here's a story about a girl or some unknown crap she saw!

Second: How does a character become a creepypasta character?

Once you create it. Yes, all the characters that have ever been created for this fandom are creepypasta characters. Yes, even Nina. Even all sorts of Wiki Killers. Whether the character is recognized or not is another matter. The recognized ones are Eyeless Jack, Tickey Toby, Slenderman and others. Unrecognized, they are Syukh and just stupid characters - Nina the Killer, Jenny the Killer, Nika the Drowned, Tom the Killer and others. And you can't say that Nina is not a creepypasta character, since there is no list of characters anywhere. And neither the Ficbook list, nor the Darkopedia, nor CreepyWiki records them. Yes, you can say that she is not scary and Sue, but she is a creepypasta character, albeit an unrecognized and shitty one. The character also needs to be promoted. For example, have any of you heard of the Silent Hunter, Aine (not Hoshi), Kerry Bain, Rainbow Man or Mark? I wildly doubt that these names and nicknames mean anything to you. What is the problem with such characters? Yes, they are little known. Why? Yes, because they are not promoted. Exactly. In order for people to know about a character, they need to promote him. Or just be a good artist/ficwriter. But it’s better to be an artist, because mostly people recognize the characters of good artists rather than fiction writers. So your character can be at least super-duper-mega-awesome, but everyone will forget about him if you don’t promote him or if you are a pathetic little person and not a great artist. By the way, the author saw only one character of a good artist, who was not mistaken for a creepypasta character. This is Cherry Pie. You probably know this red girl without pants, paired with Jeff. So, if you know how to draw, then your character has every chance of becoming a favorite.

Third: How to distinguish between a high-quality character and a low-quality one?

By "good" and "low quality" I mean the scary character, the normal character and the stupid character or Sue. To do this, we will take a couple of characters as an example. For quality ones, let's take Tickey Toby. Tikki Toby is a sadist without a Tsar in his head, a big child and just a waffle lover, suffering from myoclonus. Even though he has Slenderman in his story, which is something fans don't usually like, he is loved by a lot of people. Why? Firstly, in history there is the much-loved Frog. It is clearly stated why he went crazy. It's also well written. Secondly, his image itself. It is simple and original. No black eyes, pink hair or anything like that. A simple guy with a terrible scar on his face, wearing a biker mask that looked like part of a knight's armor, and large orange glasses, for which he was nicknamed the dragonfly. Simplicity and originality are the two main characteristics of a creepypasta character. And Tikki has all this. That's why it's high quality. In order to talk about low-quality characters, I will take as an example a character who still has halivars flying around. Exactly, gentlemen! Helena Otis, aka the Bloody Artist, is in the studio! Here the Pineapple_Frog has already explained for me a hundred times why he is unsuitable. Therefore, I will simply quote a post from the group “What even a stump knows.” "1. Not scary, but everyone in Creeppy should be scary. Oh, yes, they may not seem scary to you because of the cute art, but in reality they are freaks. And yes, Tim and Hoodie are characters from the TV series “Marble Hornets,” not CreepyPastas. 2. Boring story. There is nothing in this story that could even remotely interest the reader. If you say “the story is interesting”, then you are most likely a Painter fanatic who wants to protect his favorite. 3 . The author depicts herself in it. Below I have provided screenshots where the creator herself admits that she portrays herself in it. And this is one of the signs of Syushness. 4. Without justifying it in either the first or second story. The first story is the story of appearance. Whatever one may say, a person cannot go crazy if his album is torn and someone jumps off the roof. Then he must have a very unstable psyche, but in history it seems that he is doing well in this regard. By the way, my friend his own sister died before his eyes and he does not run to kill everyone, although his psyche cannot be called stable. The second is the story of meeting Dina. WELL, HOW DID SLENDER LEAVE HIM ALIVE!? Why is he so “cool”?! That's right, nothing! And Jeff wouldn't need him, yeah. By the way, there is also something wrong with the name. I personally looked at many sites with names, but they all say that Helen is a female name. Whatever one may say, I have never seen anyone (except Delu) say that this is a man’s name. So maybe he’s actually also a woman?” Yes, it's a lot of shit, but I don't care. First, he's really not scary. He's not even a little scary. Second, with the “boring story” the Frog went too far (and may the Lord say: “everyone has different tastes”), but there really is no justification in it. The story shows that everything is fine with his psyche, which means he cannot just go kill. It’s like with any Polina Killer who just went crazy. Third, I can’t insert screenshots into the text, but it really was written there. Fourth, the name is clearly feminine. I didn’t suffer any bullshit, rummaging through sites with names, but it’s clear to any idiot that this name can’t possibly be a man’s name. This is an analogy for the name "Elena". Then it turns out that he is Elena Otis? In general, here is a typical low-quality character who broke through only thanks to the direct hands of the creator. However, both Tikki and Lenochka are creepypasta characters, although one is of high quality and the other is not. They were created this way. Everything that is created for creepypasta is already creepypasta. You can say that a character is low quality or Sue, but you cannot say that a character is not a creepypasta if the author created it for pasta. Also, you have no right to say that this or that character is official. A character will be official if the creator of the creepypasta appears and adds him to the list of characters, but the creator of the creepypasta does not have a creator. This means that there are no official characters. There are only quality ones. The End.

Are you ready for some "celebrity" creepypastas?
Of course we are ready! Otherwise you wouldn't come here >:D
Boo Boo Boo!

SLENDERMAN

Perhaps the most famous creepypasta character is Slenderman. I doubt that you have not heard of him, but nevertheless... Slenderman can be found in the forest. He uses children more than adults for his kidnappings. In addition, he has four brothers: Offenderman, Vendor, Trender and Splender. As for the very personality of Slenderman, the mysteries of his appearance, his age and all that, nothing is known about this. Don't forget to look here too: ~ ~

JEFF THE KILLER

Without a doubt, every creepypasta lover knows about Jeff.
Jeff's real last name is Woods. At the time of the story, he was 13 years old when he went crazy. Now, most likely, he is 18 years old or older. As for his place of residence, he lived in the city of Madison, in the USA, but that was earlier. At the moment, there is no exact information about Jeff's current place of residence. More art and information can be found: ~ ~

LAUGHING JACK

Few people know Jack, although creepypasta fans already know him through and through, for sure. s: Let’s remember a little about him.~
It is known that Jack’s dream since childhood was to work in the circus. When meeting his victims, he resembles a "sad clown" based on his appearance. Of course, Jack absolutely loves to laugh, so when he kills, he simply laughs. There is no more accurate information about him and his life.

SALLY

And here is the first girl on our “list”, who would be a shame not to mention when talking about creepypasta.
Sally Alder was only 8 years old when it happened. She herself is a friendly, sociable and cheerful girl, just an angel in the flesh. But one day she was raped and now she is a ghost. Murder is what matters most to Sally the Ghost now.
In some art she may appear with Ben, fans like to dream that they are friends or even love each other. :> We will mention it below~

TIKI TOBY

So, let's move on to Tiki Toby.
Toby is seemingly a good and obedient boy. However, his parents did not love him. In the family, he only had a good relationship with his sister. But after her death, Toby became different. And not only for this reason. He saw a strange man, according to the description, similar to Slender Man, there are rumors that they even became friends and sometimes work together. Now Tikki is completely different from what he was before... ZY: He is a favorite of DeadFolks, along with ClockWork. :D

And now just a little bit of art so that the material doesn’t seem so empty! With:
And they look cute together.. >:Z

Fem-slender is already here, beauty, isn’t it? With:
So, so what if there is no hair, Slender doesn’t shine with this feature either! :D

And Jeff is often paired with Jane, although they seem to really dislike each other.

Time to sleep. :O

And here is Toby and Klok.*^*)/

Ben the Drowned himself!

This suit suits him. :D
And yes, cute. :Z

As you can see, he is quite popular.. :D

He speaks the truth! O:

But then we’re late for work!

Let's learn how to make boutiques with jam. :D

We will end with this collective art.

Well~ These were just some of the characters, there are many more of them in the creepypasta itself. If you haven’t read creepypasta yet, I recommend reading it from:
