Cher who performed at the billboard music awards.

71-year-old singer Cher knows how to surprise. Once again, she proved this by appearing at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, where she received an award in the “Icon” category. Artists with such a title are not required to perform at this ceremony, but Cher decided not to follow the path of tradition, but to please her fans with an enchanting performance.

Cher repeated her 1989 look

Before receiving the award from Gwen Stefani, Cher decided to please her fans with the song Turn Back Time, which became a cult song in the late eighties. In 1989, a video clip was released with 43-year-old Cher, who appeared in it with a voluminous hairstyle of black curls, a swimsuit, high boots and a casually thrown biker jacket. The 71-year-old singer demonstrated a similar look at the Billboard Music Awards 2017. However, this time Cher was wearing a tight, transparent black jumpsuit, embroidered with rhinestones, but otherwise, the image was very similar to the one that everyone saw 30 years ago. After the enchanting performance, Gwen approached Cher and presented her with the Icon Award.

Believe song and breasts covered with hearts

After everyone remembered Cher 30 years ago, the singer decided to amaze the audience even more. The next song Cher performed was the hit Believe. In order to most fully present the images described in the song, Cher reincarnated as a kind of beautiful diva, who appeared before the audience in shiny ankle boots, a snow-white wig and an unusual costume consisting of many shiny ribbons. The outfit was so revealing that some parts of the body, such as the nipples, were covered only with pink hearts made of rhinestones.

After Cher finished performing, the Internet burst with praise from fans. Many people did not understand how one could look so beautiful at 70 years old. So far, Cher has not commented on fans’ reviews, but she gave a short interview on the topic of age.

Cher isn't shy about showing off her body.

On May 21, 71-year-old Billboard Icon Cher not only received a special award at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, but also had a great performance. Agree, the recognized diva looks very good for her age. It became known in early May that the singer would be awarded the award. Considering that Cher is one of the few singers who has every possible award in her arsenal, the status of “Billboard Icon” was a great gift for her birthday (Cher celebrated it on May 20). The award was presented to the diva by Gwen Stefani.

Together with two concert performances and a short documentary, the tribute to Cher lasted more than twelve minutes. Cher's performance included two legendary compositions - Believe and Turn Back Time. The singer performed her first hit using her signature autotune, which, however, did not spoil the feeling of the level of the number. Along with Cher, in a platinum blonde wig and a white leotard with fringe and lots of drapery, the corps de ballet worked well on stage.

After the screening of the documentary, the performer returned to the stage as part of a rock band to perform the 1990s hit Turn Back Time, which from the very first notes caused a storm of emotions in the audience (we especially liked the undisguised, almost youthful admiration of Puff Daddy). Naturally, for this song, Cher chose the legendary look from the video of the same name - a black translucent bodysuit with appliqués, a leather jacket and a voluminous, loose style of unruly black hair. The diva literally amazed everyone with her slimness.

At the end of the performance, the singer received the award and made a short speech of gratitude: “I have wanted to do what I do since I was four years old, and I have been doing it for 53 years. Plus, it’s no secret that yesterday I turned 71 years old. I want to thank my mom because when I was young, she told me, “You won't be the smartest, the prettiest, or the most talented, but you will always be special.” When I met Sonny, he told me the same thing. I didn’t make myself out to be anything more than just me.” The singer then named several key names of people involved in her career, and also expressed gratitude to everyone with whom she has ever worked.

Recall that Cher is the only performer whose songs reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive decades (from the 1960s to the 2010s). She simultaneously includes an Oscar, a Grammy, an Emmy and 3 Golden Globes, received for her work in the film, music and television industries. Her latest studio work and the twenty-sixth disc in her discography, Closer to the Truth, was released in 2013. At the moment, the diva has left the stage, but is still open to working in films: in early January

The singer took to the T-Mobile Arena stage in a very revealing outfit, performing her two hits - Believe and If I Could Turn Back Time. Cher then changed her outfit to a sheer, form-fitting black jumpsuit with a matching leather jacket.

Last night, an award ceremony took place in the United States, which we will remember with tears, Cher’s enchanting performance, heartbreaking lines from Celine Dion’s song My Heart Will Go On, kisses from Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, Drake’s triumph and more. But let's not rush - let's talk about everything in order!

So, the traditional annual Billboard magazine awards ceremony took place on the night of Sunday to Monday in Las Vegas. But the rule “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” did not apply this time, because the organizers of the show prepared many surprises for the audience that will go down in the annals of the Billboard Music Awards.

One of the brightest moments of the ceremony was, perhaps, who performed at the Billboard Music Awards for the first time in the last 15 years, and in what outfits! On the stage of the T-Mobile Arena, the 71-year-old artist appeared in revealing stage costumes, once again proving that beauty is not numbers, but self-awareness.

The Internet is no less discussing Miley Cyrus, who performed her new hit at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, which she dedicated to her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

During the speech, the celebrity lost herself so much that she could barely hold back her tears: at the very end, in a trembling voice, she could only say “thank you.”

And if during Cyrus’s performance she was the only one who shed tears, then Celine Dion’s appearance on the T-Mobile Arena stage made everyone cry. And all because the singer performed the same song My Heart Will Go On, which became the main theme song for James Cameron's 1997 film Titanic.

Eh, it’s just a pity that Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t support the artist during her performance. However, the audience had enough stills from the cult film.

Dion, by the way, sang My Heart Will Go On in honor of the 20th anniversary of the hit.

And, of course, we won't forget Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's kiss. Mimimi, no less =)

As for the laureates, the absolute winner of the award this year was Drake, who collected 13 out of 22 possible awards, in particular, the artist received statuettes in the categories “Artist of the Year”, “Best Singer” and “Best Rap Album”. Drake, by the way, beat Adele, who in 2012 went home with a record 12 statuettes!

Second place was shared by Beyoncé and the American duo Twenty One Pilots, who received five awards each.
