Transformations of the scenery take girls and boys from Professor Kirk's house to Narnia and back, snow falls on the stage and flowers bloom. The actors move around the hall, ask the children questions and listen to their tips, dance and sing.

The performance consists of two acts. Before the intermission, the plot of the tale develops in detail, the second act is more rapid and schematic. Peter, Edmund and Lucy (played by adult actors) come to the professor's house for a tour with a camera, like going to a museum. And then the plot is familiar: children climb into an old wardrobe and end up in Narnia, where it has been winter for 100 years and the White Witch rules. At the end of the play, good, as usual, defeats evil, and the children become kings of Narnia.

The best age to attend this performance is older preschoolers and junior schoolchildren (the 6+ mark is absolutely correct). Even babies are scared at the performance: loud sounds, darkness.

There is a moment in the play when the queen stabs Aslan the lion with a sword on a stone table, and he dies. Then he resurrects, sending us to the gospel story. But the episode can leave a strong impression, so be prepared to answer questions. And also about Adam and Eve, who a faun is, why Santa Claus wears blue and not red, like all decent Santa Clauses.

I would like to express my gratitude for the excellent production of “The Secret of the Old Closet” on Malaya Bronnaya. Both me and my children (8 and 10 years old) really liked everything! Firstly, all the main ideas of the work are perfectly conveyed. Secondly, the scenery is beyond praise. I especially remember the transition from reality to Narnia. Thirdly, wonderful acting. Everyone, without exception, played very well. The children were simply delighted, although they admitted that it was difficult to sit for so long. It’s okay, they’re already big, it’s time to get used to them. I recommend everyone to watch it.

I liked everything very much! I attended “The Secret of the Old Closet” with my daughter and read the book beforehand. They managed to stage an excellent performance based on such a voluminous work. My daughter especially liked the blue squirrels, and I especially liked the wolves. A direct hit. And the actors played very, very decently - you can’t complain. Definitely worth a visit, you will be pleased.

Be sure to go with your children to the mystery of the old closet!!! you will not regret!!! Just don’t save money on tickets - we were in the 3rd row of the amphitheater, a woman with a small child was sitting in front. almost immediately she took him in her arms and that’s it!!! my Sofochka (we are 5 years old) didn’t really see anything anymore, she was spinning around the entire first section. In terms of plot, everything is fine for me. Of course it's a little long in some places, but that doesn't bother me at all. and yes, don’t take very young children there - they will whine, cry and ask to go home. The production is quite large. Sofochka never finished watching it. Let's go again when he's grown a little.
